Chapter Two-hundred and fifty-six: Confronting with a culmination
The people who had gathered outside of the Battle Pyramid when it landed in Hoenn near Lilycove City all went inside when Brandon, the Pyramid King, was challenged to a battle by Paul the former jerkwad. Both trainers were competing in the current season of the World Coronation Series, and both were currently in the Great Class. Dawn and the other reborn trainers sat together to watch the battle from the bleachers in the arena in the Battle Pyramid, having been joined by Ash's former traveling companion May and May's little brother Max.
Brandon stood at the opposite end of the arena from Paul, both trainers in place to battle. "I hope you know what you are doing, boy," Brandon called out, "Challenging me to a three on three battle."
Paul kept his tone and expression neutral and casual. "I hope so as well." From where she sat, Dawn could tell that Brandon was a bit annoyed with Paul showing a lack of things getting under his skin. The Rotom Drone came in, announced that the battle was a single style three on three match, substitutions were allowed whenever, and last trainer with any Pokémon still able to battle would be declared the winner. Dawn also saw the ranks of Brandon and Paul; whereas Brandon was one good loss away from dropping back down into the Normal Class, Paul was looking to be one good win away from rising up into the Ultra Class. The battle was soon begun, and Brandon and Paul sent their respective first Pokémon out at the same time.
"Regirock, I need your assistance!"
"Torterra, standby for battle!"
Both Pokémon came out for battle, seeing Paul field his Torterra, his first Pokémon he ever got, having had Torterra since it was a Turtwig. However, Brandon sent out the legendary Pokémon Regirock. Paul did have a notable type advantage, and Dawn could tell by the look in Paul's eyes that he was going to capitalize on it as much as he could. Dawn was expecting for Paul to call for a grass move, probably Torterra's Frenzy Plant, but the first attack that Paul called for caught Dawn by surprise, as well as made her realize that Paul was actually following advice she gave him a long time ago.
"Torterra, use Earthquake!" Paul called out.
"Regirock, return!" Brandon said as he swapped his Pokémon around, "Regice, I need your assistance!" Regirock was swapped out and Regice, another legendary Pokémon, was swapped in. Although it took the hit from Torterra's Earthquake, it was able to ride things out fairly well. Giving off an amused smirk, Brandon said, "This is where I make a turn around to proceed to the victory that I know full well awaits for me at the end of this battle! Regice, use Ice Beam!"
"Torterra return!" Paul said as he swapped his Pokémon around, "Magmortar, standby for battle!" Coming out in place of Torterra was Magmortar, who took the Ice Beam very well. A lot better than Torterra could have.
Up in the audience, Kenny muttered, "Oh yeah, Paul dropped the habit of making his Pokémon take super effective attacks to 'push them past their limits'. Paul really has grown up, really has gotten better, ever since he lost to Ash in that battle at Lake Acuity so very long ago." Dawn nodded in agreement, similarly as impressed, as well as a little proud, of Paul for just how far he had come along.
Down at the battle, Paul called out, "Magmortar, use Fire Blast!"
"Regice return!" Brandon said while swapping his Pokémon around again, "Regirock, I need your assistance!" Once more, Regirock was out in battle, but it took the Fire Blast from Magmortar and was also burned by it too. It was clear to Dawn that Brandon was going to be using all three of the Regis, meaning his third Pokémon was going to be Registeel; Registeel and Regice are both weak to fire, which Magmortar has in spades. Regirock is effectively the Pyramid King's only answer to Magmortar, but now its not only suffering from a status ailment that will damage it overtime, but said status ailment also halves its physical damage output.
Brandon scowled in a bit of frustration. "Regirock, use Lock On!"
"Magmortar, use Thunderbolt!" Paul called out. Magmortar was able to get Thunderbolt off without issue as Regirock was taking aim at it to ensure the next attack landed without issue.
After that exchange and seeing Regirock hurt by its burn, Brandon called out, "Regirock, use Zap Cannon!"
"Magmortar return!" Paul said as he swapped his Pokémon around, "Electivire, standby for battle!" Coming out in Magmortar's place was Paul's Electivire, who took the Zap Cannon like a champ thanks to Motor Drive which boosted Electivire's speed. Pointing forward, Paul called out, "Electivire, use Brick Break!"
"Regirock, use Stone Edge!" Brandon called out.
Regirock cast its attack at Electivire who came running up quickly, and although the Stone Edge did score a critical hit, Electivire wasn't down for the count yet and was able to deal a wicked blow right on Regirock's burn mark, dealing super effective damage with a hit that Dawn from where she sat could tell was a critical hit. Regirock was looking to be teetering on the edge of going down after it was pained by its burn. Gesturing forward, Paul commanded, "Electivire, use Earthquake!"
The reborn trainers were surprised to see that Paul took Dawn's advice of having Torterra learn Earthquake a step further by also teaching the move to Electivire; Dawn guessed that Paul saw that Electivire also showed it was capable of learning the move so he decided to add it on. Brandon did, however, call out, "Regirock return! Regice, I need your assistance!" Regice came back out and took an Earthquake that might very well have spelled doom for Regirock. Pointing forward, Brandon called out, "Regice, use Ice Beam!"
"Electivire, block it with Fire Punch!" Paul called out. Regice conjured and cast its Ice Beam attack, but Electivire was able to block it with the flames surrounding its right first when it used Fire Punch. Electivire was then able to swing another Fire Punch into Regice's side using its left fist, making the legendary Pokémon stumble back. As Regice tried shaking off the stunning blow, Paul said, "Electivire return! Magmortar, standby for battle!"
After the swap, Paul had his Magmortar back out. "Magmortar, use Fire Blast!" Paul called out.
"Regice return!" Brandon called out, "Regirock, I need your assistance!" After another swap, Brandon had his Regirock back out, but it took the Fire Blast and, although it wasn't very effective, it was still enough to, with the extra damage Regirock suffered from its burn, knock out the first of Brandon's three legendary Pokémon.
"Regirock has been defeated," the Rotom Drone announced, "Magmortar wins!"
Brandon was clearly trying to keep cool, but Dawn from where she sat could tell that the Pyramid King was annoyed to have suffered the first loss of the battle. A battle against Paul no less. After recalling the defeated Regirock, Brandon sent out his next Pokémon while calling out, "Registeel, I need your assistance!"
"Magmortar return!" Paul said, "Torterra, standby for battle!" Both trainers sent out new Pokémon, although Trip questioned why Paul would swap Magmortar out when Registeel was Brandon's active Pokémon, a question to which Dawn wasn't quite so sure of the answer to herself. Down on the battlefield, Paul called out, "Torterra, use Earthquake!"
"Registeel, use Iron Head!" Brandon called out. Dawn was surprised that Brandon wasn't going to swap out to Regice to have a type advantage, but then realized Brandon felt that it'd be too risky as Regice had taken some hits so far. As such, Torterra took an Iron Head while Registeel took an Earthquake.
"Torterra, are you alright?" Paul called out, and Torterra looked to be flinching from having gotten hit by Iron Head.
"Aha, it's exposed!" Brandon said, "Registeel return! Regice, I need your assistance!" The Pyramid King acted quickly to capitalize on Torterra's apparent flinching in the hopes of scoring a knockout against Paul. As soon as Regice was out, Brandon called out, "Regice, use Ice Beam!"
"Torterra use Stone Edge!" Paul called out, drawing a surprised look out of Brandon. Torterra looked to have gotten over its flinching too quickly, and Dawn suspected that Torterra was merely faking its flinching. But then again, Torterra hit Registeel before Registeel hit Torterra, and flinches really only work if inflicted on the target before the target can attack.
As a result of the exchange, Torterra took a powerful Ice Beam while Regice took a painful Stone Edge that scored a critical hit. After the exchange of attacks, both Regice and Torterra fell over in defeat. "Both Regice and Torterra have been defeated," the Rotom Drone announced.
Brandon, as he recalled his Regice, smirked at Paul. "Not upset one of your Pokémon went down, are you boy?"
"No, things went as I expected," Paul replied, still remaining calm as a cucumber. Paul then sent his Magmortar back out, to which Brandon had to send his Registeel back out as it was his last Pokémon. Although Registeel was in fairly good shape, so was Paul's Magmortar which held a type advantage. Gesturing forward, Paul called out, "Magmortar, use Fire Blast!"
"Registeel, use Ancient Power!" Brandon called out. Both attacks flew out and hit their intended targets. Both Pokémon were hurt bad, but both were still in it although Registeel was burned by Fire Blast. The Pyramid King could tell that one more good Ancient Power from Registeel ought to be enough to knock out Paul's Magmortar, then after that it would just be Paul's Electivire, and it would also go down easy to an Earth Power or two. Gesturing forward, Brandon called out, "Registeel, use Ancient Power!"
"Magmortar, use Flamethrower!" Paul called out.
Registeel moved to conjure and cast its Ancient Power, but it flinched in pain from its burn, buying Magmortar's Flamethrower just enough time to not only strike Registeel, but do so on its burn no less, clearly scoring a critical hit. After Magmortar's attack was finished, everyone was still as a sort of silence hung in the air. Then, all of a sudden, Registeel fell over and hit the ground of the battlefield, clearly out of it. "Registeel has been defeated," the Rotom Drone announced, "Magmortar wins! Paul is the winner of this battle!"
The audience cheered excitedly as Paul not only won against Brandon, but did so while all of the Pokémon that Brandon had used were legendaries while Paul had no such advantage himself. Additionally, due to the rank changing as the battle WAS an official battle for the current season of the World Coronation Series, Brandon's rank dropped enough to push him back down into the Normal Class. As for Paul, his rank went up enough to push him into the Ultra Class. Paul let out a breath that was more relieved than anything else.
The reborn trainers, as well as May and Max, saw it as Paul offered a handshake to Brandon. The Pyramid King, clearly trying to keep an outwardly calm appearance, accepted it. Dawn could tell, however, that Brandon was by no means happy to have lost to Paul. Dawn got the other reborn trainers to agree to come with her to see how Brandon's doing after everyone cleared out, although May and Max had to bail. Still, Paul had pulled off a very impressive feat just now; he defeated all three of the legendary Pokémon that Brandon has at his disposal, all in the same single battle.
Not even Ash can claim to have done something like that.
"I can't believe it! I lost to that temper tantrum-throwing spoiled little brat!"
Even before they entered an office room in the Battle Pyramid to check up on Brandon, the reborn trainers were able to hear him ranting about his loss to Paul just now. "And what's with his acting so cool? I know full well my nettling should have made him snap, should have made him act out for everyone to see what I know he is!" the Pyramid King went on, "How dare he disrespects me in such a conniving manner! And what's worse is that he pushed me back down into the Normal Class while he gets bumped up to the Ultra Class! It should be the other way around!"
Brandon was then surprised when the door leading into the room he was in was thrown open, and standing there in the doorway was Dawn, who had Kenny, Trip, and Mina behind her. "Believe it or not Brandon, but Paul had grown up," Dawn said, "He learned from his past and his mistakes, he's continuing trying to better himself. The others and I came here to check up on you to see if you're doing okay after you had lost to Paul, but all that I see is you acting very similar to how you're accusing Paul of still being." Dawn's eyes narrowed dangerously so at the Pyramid King.
"...You're the one who's being a temper tantrum-throwing spoiled little brat."
"How dare you, little girl!" Brandon scolded immediately, "How dare you disrespect someone older than you in such a manner!"
"Tell me," Dawn went on, "How would you describe someone who, after losing a battle, does nothing but rant and rave in complaint about it?" Seeing that some degree of sense was returning to Brandon's eyes, Dawn went on, "Because that's exactly what you're doing right now."
Forcing himself to simmer down, Brandon remarked, "I... I suppose you have a point. I suppose my recent series of losses have gotten to me."
Gesturing to Brandon, Kenny said, "Yeah, anyone can get a little testy if they suffer loss after loss in a row. You... just kind of hit a ceiling of what all you can stretch out to do without adjusting yourself."
Letting out a tired sigh, Brandon went on, "But how can I improve? How can I grow stronger when I have for so very long had every reason to believe that I had become as strong of a trainer as possible?"
Dawn was about to speak up, but she got cut off when someone working in the Battle Pyramid came rushing in. "Brandon, sir!" the person said, "You're gonna wanna see this!"
Taking a touch-pad from the person who rushed in to see him, Brandon looked at it for a moment before going wide-eyed with surprise. "Ruins related to the legend of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel have been found in the Crown Tundra area of Galar," Brandon said, "Could... could said ruins be the key to finding the lost members of their group, Regieleki and Regidrago?"
That caught the reborn trainers' attention, as Regieleki and Regidrago were the newer members of the Regis added in the DLC of the Sword and Shield games in their previous life. Also, none of them lived long enough to see if Regieleki or Regidrago appeared in the anime in their previous lives. Dawn could tell that Brandon was very much interested in trying to get to Regieleki and Regidrago, and obviously try to capture them both. Dawn also wouldn't put it past Brandon right now to go after trying to capture Regigigas as well, so that he would have ALL of the Regis.
Dawn was about to speak up again, but got cut off when her phone got a message. Taking her phone out, Dawn saw that she was getting a message about her next battle in the Ultra Rank for the current season of the World Coronation Series. "...Oh, my next Ultra Rank opponent will be Gordie, the rock type gym leader who is over in Circhester, Galar," Dawn said, "The battle is in seven days as of me getting the notification just now."
"Circhester is a hop, skip, and jump away from the Crown Tundra area," Kenny said, "Mayhaps we can get a lift there from his highness the Pharaoh of the Pyramid, given he's bound to be interested in going to the Crown Tundra."
"You can bet on that," Brandon said, "Also, depending on how Regieleki and Regidrago act assuming I find them, I may need some help wrangling them."
Shrugging, Trip said, "Ehh, why not?"
After a day of air travel, the Battle Pyramid flew into and arrived in the Crown Tundra area, landing in an open field area near some ruins that look to be strongly affiliated with the legend of the Regis. After the Battle Pyramid safely landed, the reborn trainers came walking out while following Brandon who was clearly a bit eager to check out the ruins connected to the Regis. "So how can we expect Regieleki and Regidrago to behave, assuming that they'll show up?" Kenny asked.
"Not sure," Brandon replied, "And it's a good thing you all came with me. Safety in numbers and all of that good jazz."
The group then reached the doors leading into the ruins, but Brandon showed that they were sealed shut tight. He then indicated to some text on the doors, which say that the doors will only open if titans of rock, ice, and steel are brought here. The Pyramid King smirked a bit in amusement as he called our Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. After those three interacted with the door, it opened the way, allowing Brandon and the reborn trainers to head inside, which they did after Brandon called back all of his Regis.
Eventually, the reborn trainers and Brandon reached a main chamber, where two statues waited. They also saw a bunch of circles on the floor. "...I believe that we must step on these circles in unison to make them light up," Brandon said. With Dawn helping him out, Brandon stepped on circles at the same time Dawn did, each of them setting up a specific pattern. Eventually, they both finished making the circles light up, and what happened after that ended up surprising everyone who had ventured deep into the ruins.
The stone of the statues cracked then suddenly revealed that they were Regieleki and Regidrago. The two uncaught Regis cried out before they proceeded to go on the attack. Regieleki was taken by surprise, however, when Brandon called out Regirock, Regice, and Registeel to outnumber it. As for Regidrago, it was struck down by a Dragon Pulse from Dawn's named Naganadel Wyrmscale, who was backed by Kenny's named Glaceon Shallot, Trip's named alpha Hisuian Goodra Todoroki, and Mina's shiny Sylveon.
Despite how both Regieleki and Regidrago were legendaries, both were fighting multiple opponents all at once on their own. Their power was soon overwhelmed, with Regidrago the first to go down, followed by Regieleki. Both seemed to try and wanna switch with one another, but both facing multiple opponents each at the same time kind of nixed that. Brandon then took the opportunity to capture both Regieleki and Regidrago, giving him five Regis under his command. Dawn could only hope that the Pyramid King doesn't get ahead of himself again.
He got tripped up before in the World Coronation Series, it could happen again. Especially if he's not careful.
...
"You intend to head back to Snowpoint City in the Sinnoh region?" Mina asked when she and the other reborn trainers were seeing Brandon off.
Nodding once in the affirmative, Brandon explained, "After my Pokémon and I rest up while flying to Sinnoh, I intend to go into Snowpoint Temple and see if I can get Regigigas to agree to officially join my team."
Dawn had a hunch that Brandon was aiming for an entire party of legendary Pokémon. No doubt he was thinking that having that much power at his command would let him rocket right back up to the top. She just hoped that Brandon remembered to keep a cool head about him, as well as not fall victim to the idea that an entire party of legendaries would make him invincible; Dawn recalled how she once defeated such a trainer, a very long time ago. "We'll it sounds like you'll be able to handle yourself from this point moving forward," Dawn remarked.
Brandon nodded in agreement before he went back into the Battle Pyramid, and the reborn trainers all saw it take off into the air before flying away, leaving over the horizon. After the Battle Pyramid was out of sight, Kenny said, "So now we just head straight to Circhester, right?"
"Actually," Trip said, "There's a Pokémon I heard can be found here in the wild in the Crown Tundra area. It's one that I wanna catch."
...
Over in the area of Snowslide Slope, Dawn, Kenny, and Mina stood by as they watched Trip have his named Dialga Deelia battle a wild Metagross that Trip came upon. After a short skirmish where Deelia spammed Earth Power, the wild Metagross was defeated and Trip captured it. Trip ended up naming the Metagross Eddie, after a certain shipboard computer voice that sounded overly friendly all the time regardless of situation. Dawn wasn't all that surprised that Trip wanted to divert to track down and capture a Metagross; Trip always did like steel types.
Well with the capture of Eddie the Metagross, the reborn trainers were ready to head back up to Circhester.
Dawn and the reborn trainers soon made it to Circhester, where they trained for a few days until it was time for Dawn's battle with Gordie in the Ultra Class of the current season of the World Coronation Series. Dawn won that battle with virtually no trouble. Gordie came at her with Barbaracle, Tyranitar, and Coalossal; all of them rock types, but each carrying differing times four weaknesses that Dawn was able to exploit with the movesets of the Pokémon that she had brought along to help her take on the rock Pokémon user of Circhester.
Coalossal, with its times four weakness to water and ground, was downed by Dawn's named Garchomp Germany. Barbaracle, with its time four weakness to grass, was downed by Dawn's named Roserade Akiza. And Tyranitar, with its times four weakness to fighting, was downed by Dawn's named Infernape Chi-Chi. It bothered Kenny on something of a personal level to see a Tyranitar get taken out by a fully evolved starter Pokémon. Regardless, Dawn had nonetheless won her Ultra Rank battle with Gordie, and as such her rank went up to around thirty.
...
As Dawn and the others were relaxing at the Pokémon Center in Circhester, they were surprised when Gordie came in, carrying some take out bags that were revealed to be filled with bagels, as well as set up a few small containers of flavored cream cheese spreads. He even got some small plastic knives out. "Well what better way to congratulate Dawn for winning than by treating her to some good quality food from Bagel Boys?" Gordie replied when he was asked why he had brought a lot of bagels to Dawn and the others.
"I think Raihan once mentioned that you treated him to that Bagel Boys place after he lost a battle to your mom after going into it without knowing she used ice types," Trip said as he and the others proceeded to help themselves.
"Yeah, Raihan recently won a battle against my mom for the World Coronation Series," Gordie remarked, "It helped that he was well aware of the advantage my mom held so he planned around it." Swallowing a mouthful of everything bagel, Gordie went on, "Speaking of winning battles, you guys heard about that Brandon guy who is a member of Kanto's Battle Frontier? He had been pushed down into the Normal Class a little over a week ago after suffering a string of losses in the Great Class."
"Yeah, we know about his highness the Pharaoh of the Pyramid," Kenny replied, "Why do you ask?"
Gesturing to the reborn trainers, Gordie said, "Get this, he's on a winning streak again, having battled his way back into the Great Class. He's also now rolling with these Pokémon called Regieleki, Regidrago, and Regigigas, in addition to the Regirock, Regice, and Registeel he's been seen using before and is still being seen using to this day. The dude obviously wants to make up for his prior losing streak."
Dawn had Mina check the current rankings, and saw that Brandon was back to where he was in the Great Class before he started suffering loss after loss. No doubt the Pyramid King planned to be more careful this time around. It also didn't surprise the reborn trainers that Brandon had gone and caught Regigigas. Dawn was about to speak up, but mysterious glows began coming from the Dynamax bands of Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and Gordie.
"Is this a sign we're about to go off on another adventure?" Kenny asked excitedly.
"The Dynamax bands are connected to the phenomena of Dynamax and Gigantimax here in Galar," Gordie said, "Which can only be done in certain stadiums and in the Wild Area. I also heard reports about such incidents popping up across the region here." Gesturing to the reborn trainers, Gordie said, "You guys oughta go investigate. I'd help out, but I gotta stay here in Circhester."
"Fair enough," Trip said, and he and the other reborn trainers all took off, but not before Gordie had them take the rest of the food that he had brought along for them from Bagel Boys.
The reborn trainers soon got on a train to head on over to Wedgehurst, and on said train they ran into Ash and Goh, with whom they shared some of their bagels. "Yeah, we came here to look into things when my Dynamax Band began glowing oddly," Ash said as Goh ate a bagel.
"The others and I were in Circhester, where I won a battle in the Ultra Class for the World Coronation Series," Dawn explained, "That's where our Dynamax Bands began acting oddly."
Ash chuckled in amusement. "Wow, it's amazing you got into the Ultra Class," Ash remarked.
"His highness the Pharaoh of the Pyramid fought his way back into the Great Class recently," Kenny said. When Goh asked what Kenny was talking about, Ash proceeded to tell him about Pyramid King Brandon of the Kanto Battle Frontier. After that, Dawn proceeded to fill in the rest of the relevant details; how Brandon was pushed down into the Normal Class after losing a battle to Paul who got bumped up to the Ultra Class, and how Brandon had caught Regieleki and Regidrago over in the Crown Tundra before going to Snowpoint Temple to catch Regigigas.
"Paul defeated Brandon?" Ash asked out of surprise, with Dawn confirming and going into detail on how Paul won due to taking advice Dawn herself had given him a while ago on having Torterra learn Earthqquake. Dawn withheld how Brandon... sort of lost his head due to the string of losses he suffered, but told Ash that Brandon is doing much better now that he had battled his way back to where he was in the rankings in the current season of the World Coronation Series. "Well good on Brandon for him fighting his way back," Ash said, "And it's amazing Paul won a battle against him."
Dawn nodded in agreement, saying that Mina had even recorded the whole of the Paul-v-Brandon battle in question on her phone. However, before Mina could show the video, the train came to a sudden stop. "Folks, this is your conductor speaking," a man's voice said over the intercom, "Due to some unexpected thick fog, we had to make a sudden stop. Feel free to stretch your legs while we try to get things going again." The passengers on the train all got off and proceeded to stretch their legs for a bit, to which saw Dawn, the other reborn trainers, Ash, and Goh all eat more of the bagels.
As the heroes ate, a random wild Bunnelby came up and tried to steal part of the bagel Goh was eating, but failed and then tried running off. However, Goh gave chase, yelling, "I'll teach you for trying to steal my bagel!"
"Bagel thieves need to be punished!" Kenny yelled as he ran after Goh, clearly aiming to help him. This prompted the rest of the group to get up and go after Goh and Kenny, with Mina running fast to catch up with her boyfriend.
...
The heroes all ended up running into the Slumbering Weald, where Mina who caught up to Goh and Kenny saw it as Goh caught the Bunnelby in question. However, she and the boys with her saw that they had become separated from Dawn, Ash, and Trip. "Lovely," Kenny said, "We got separated from the others due to the bagel thief."
"Would be bagel thief," Goh corrected, "I kept it from stealing my bagel."
"But where are Dawn and the others?" Mina asked.
...
Dawn, Ash, and Trip were staring down a Zacian that had come out of the fog to them. Ash looked like he was aiming to have Pikachu attack, but Dawn cut him off by holding out an arm. Zacian saw this and took note of Dawn trying to be peaceful. "My friends here and I only came here looking for some more friends of ours who ran in chasing a Bunnelby," Dawn said to the Zacian, "We meant no harm or offence. We're just trying to find our other friends, then we shall be taking off."
To the surprise of Ash and Trip, Zacian nodded once, in a mix of approval, understanding, and some appreciation for the respect being shown. The Zacian raised its head up and sniffed about, before turning to run off, but stopped short to look back at Dawn and the boys. "...It wants us to follow," Trip said.
"So let's follow," Ash replied before he and the Berlitz siblings ran after Zacian.
...
Meanwhile, Kenny and Goh were having Godzilla and Raboot throw what all any attacks at Zamazenta who appeared, but all of the attacks went right through it. "The great wolf will steal our bagels if we don't fight it off!" Kenny declared.
"Get rid of it at all costs!" Goh exclaimed.
As Mina was eating a bagel, she saw it as Dawn, Ash, and Trip came running up with Zacian. "Oh great, Dawn and the boys brought another wolf!" Mina said.
"Kenny, Goh, chill thyselves!" Dawn scolded, getting the boys to settle down and recall Godzilla and Raboot. "Look, we all reunited, so we can peacefully leave this area as a group," Dawn went on, and soon after everyone agreed, Zacian and Zamazanta both howled, and soon the entire area filled with more fog. Soon, the visions of everyone was filled with fog, making them pass out.
...
When the group all woke up, they found themselves all outside of the Slumbering Weald. Looking up into the skies above, the heroes saw several stars streak across the sky. As Goh noted the stars look like what is seen when a Pokémon Dynamaxes, a car pulled up, and the heroes were surprised to see that it was being driven by Sonia. "What are all of you kids doing here?" Sonia asked.
"A pair of magic wolves let us go after we confirmed they weren't interested in our bagels," Kenny replied.
"It's... a bit more complicated than that, Sonia," Dawn began, "But-" Dawn was cut off when a Gigantimax Centiscorch suddenly appeared in a nearby small town, well outside of a stadium or the Wild Area. "...But we need to deal with that pronto," Dawn remarked.
"I'd normally object, but I know you and the others are more than capable," Sonia remarked, "Can you all head overthere on your own? I can't give all of you a lift as it'd be a tight fit in my ride here." The trainers each called out dragon Pokémon to ride on over to the sight of the Gigantimax Centiscorch; Dawn's Palkia Tsukune, Trip's Dialga Deelia, Kenny's Giratina Black, Ash's Dragonite, Mina's Dragonite, and Goh who has a Flygon. The swarm of dragon riders flew up and made a beeline for where there was chaos afoot, chaos that they had to get to the bottom of.
END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SIX
Author's notes;
This chapter sees Paul not only win a rematch with Brandon the Pyramid King, but Paul knocks out Regirock, Regice, and Registeel all in one battle. Brandon also drops down to the Normal Class while Paul is bumped up to the Ultra Class. The reborn trainers later find Brandon venting, and after Dawn's words bring the Pyramid King back to his senses, they head to the Crown Tundra due to Brandon getting word of a runs connected to Regieleki and Regidrago. Brandon ends up capturing both, and leaves to the Snowpoint Temple in Snowpoint City, Sinnoh, where he captures Regigigas. Oh, Trip also captures a Metagross.
After Dawn wins an Ultra Class battle against Gordie, the reborn trainers soon have to go to Wedgehurst because their Dynamax Bands are acting funny. On the way they meet up with Ash and Goh again, and they soon meet Zacian and Zamazenta in the Slumbering Weald. After leaving, the heroes are met up by Sonia, but the meet up is cut short by a random Gigantimax Centiscorch popping up. The heroes ride off on dragons to go confront the trouble ahead, trouble that isn't going to stop anytime soon as this is only the tip of the iceburg here. Things will continue to rage on here, but until then take care.
