Evil Turns Good

The Golden Trio exited the Wizengamot chambers again after the 17th trial of various alleged Death Eaters. Today it was the turn of Lucius Malfoy and Mr. Peter Goyle (father of Gregory Goyle) to stand trial and all three of the Golden Trio had testified against Lucius Malfoy. Many Death Eaters had listened to their sentence and in a few weeks from now, it was Narcissa and Draco's turn to be judged. Today, Lucius' verdict was imprisonment in Azkaban for the duration of 21 years, starting next week so that they could arrange a few things at home whilst being strictly watched by the Ministry. The Malfoy family exited just behind the Golden Trio and Lucius' gaze was venomously fixed on the Golden Trio.

"I will get them for this! Once and for all," Lucius hissed to his wife and son.

He inconspicuously drew a wand from his walking stick and quickened his pace to the retreating heads of the Golden Trio. Draco and Narcissa knew what he was going to do and Narcissa held her breath whilst Draco sighed deeply.

"Don't," Narcissa pleaded barely audible to her husband, meanwhile trying to keep up with him as he walked.

"Don't worry, darling. I'll pin in on Goyle, as I've got his wand," Lucius replied softly before speeding after them.

Narcissa's breath hitched and she fell back a little but still continued to follow him. Draco inhaled deeply again and shut his eyes hard for just one moment as if to muster up all his strength and goodwill.

"Enough," Draco whispered just one word, but Narcissa knew what was coming. He didn't even look back to see if his mother would stop him because he knew she wouldn't anymore.

Draco drew his own new wand and pointed it at his fathers' back and whispered, "Colloshoo."

WHAM!

The spell for sticking a target's shoe to the ground worked flawlessly and Lucius Malfoy fell flat on his face in the middle of the hallway. Goyle's wand rolled out of his hand and the waterfall of his platinum-blonde hair spread across the floor too. Lucius cursed loudly and people turned to look at the scene.

The Golden Trio looked back at the sound and within moments, people (other alleged Death Eaters that had attended the trial) came to Lucius' aid.

Draco caught up with his father, took a deep breath and said to the Golden Trio, "He was going to attack you."

Instantly, some aurors that had watched the whole ordeal took the wand that had rolled from Lucius' grip and cuffed him.

Hermione Granger's eyes watched Draco carefully and seemed to guess if he was sincere or if it was some kind of ploy.

Draco, however, wasn't going to be silenced before he could say what he came to say.

"My father's trial should be done over again. He is guilty of far more than you know of."

Narcissa had followed Draco and now arrived at his side. Lucius had been silenced by the aurors that had cuffed him and Narcissa smiled melancholic before nodding to the Golden Trio to affirm Draco's words.

Ronald Weasley opened his mouth to say something but stopped when Harry Potter stepped forward and stared and Draco Malfoy's tired face.

"Why now?" Harry asked inquisitively.

Draco replied, "I'm done being evil. I have been for quite some time."

Hermione studied Draco's demeanour and sent Ron a puzzled look.

"It will not in any way guarantee you a shorter sentence," Harry warned.

"I'm quite aware, thanks, Potter. I'm just tired and I'm done. Now, it is time for justice. To be honest I care quite little about what will happen to me."

The truth, that sounded through Draco's voice, was so loud that the Golden Trio believed him immediately. Narcissa's eyes did not betray that her heart broke for her son. But she did blink a few coming tears away before saying, "And I am done, too."
