A/N: Hello guys, and welcome once again for another fictional ride. From my previous stories y'all can already guess what I will be focusing on with this story as well as the pairings.
Yes, it's a Kara X Kal pairing and while they are technically related, to me this is just fiction and if anyone doesn't like it, then that's fine. I am gonna make this short, max of 5 chapters and will focus on romance and a lemon later on between the two.. I might make it more than 5 chapters if i see fit, but i will try to make this short enough. Kal-El's character will be different from his usual righteous portrayal and while he won't be dark or evil, he won't be all good either, as its kind of the only way he will be accepting of an intimate relationship with his cousin of all people. And before anyone gets any ideas, there will be no Power girl or any other DC woman added to the pairing. Its just super girl.. The regular and standard one..
As to who will initiate the romance between the two, well.. Y'all will find out..
So, let's get to it..
Disclaimer: I don't own Justice league or it's characters.
Kryptonian bond: Chapter 1
In another life, things would have been different.. A life on Krypton with fellow Kryptonians, living in prosperity while enjoying the benefits of the most advanced civilization in the entire universe.. A life with their biological parents alive and well.. Together as a family.. A real family..
That would have been quite a life indeed, but reality can be often disappointing when it came to desires of mortals and in some cases, immortals.. Such was the case with arguably the last two Kryptonians in existence as they had to settle with life on a backwater planet and with beings below them in practically every aspect.. To these people they were gods, not invincible mind you, but close enough as there was hardly any being within this sector of the Universe that could prove much of a challenge to them..
So far they had access to sunlight from a yellow or blue star, they were very powerful.. Too powerful even that some human organizations started making moves to deal with them.. Moves that for the most part were quite embarrassingly unsuccessful even with the humans getting their hands on a so called weakness called Kryptonite...
Perhaps in another life, attempts to take them down would have been successful especially when they had that annoying green rock at their disposal, but Kal-El despite his origins on earth and a rather peaceful family life, was tough.. Like really tough, all thanks to his late adopted father being a retired war veteran.. One that was sane at least..
Former Major Jonathan Kent may be gone, but his hard life teachings lived on true his adopted son, Clark Kent..
When you reveal yourself to the world, they will fear you because they don't understand what you represent and that's fine.. But what you must not allow is for them to treat you like a sheep for slaughter or like a scapegoat because you my son are way more than that.. Be kind to the people, be helpful using your gifts, but do NOT appear weak or show them weakness because just as there are harmless innocents among the people, there are also evil people hiding in the background, waiting to strike.. You are not just a farm boy my son, you are a step forward for humans into the future and so, you need not allow yourself to be weak in anyway whatsoever.. It may not be fair, but considering who you are you just don't have that luxury to afford it..
These were the one of the many words of advice his adopted father gave him after revealing his true origins, and with the older man using his military background to train him from a young age, Clark Kent was no pushover, nor was he naive about the world he was living in.. Earth may be a backwater planet compared to other civilizations, but its people were just as greedy and as selfish, which made them dangerous.. So, he and anyone not human that lived on earth had to act carefully and precisely when dealing with humans.. Earth may have gifted him with godly strength, but it wasn't his territory.. At least, not yet..
Surprisingly, the number of non humans on Earth were quite more than expected and that was just counting those who had been identified so far..
Fast forward into the future, it had been over 10 years after revealing himself as an alien with the humans amusingly decided to call him "Superman" due to the "S" symbol on his suit as well as his quote on quote, "heroic deeds". It was amusing alright considering he was far from being a man or human for that matter, but he decided to play along as the name was quite catchy.. However, Kal-El remembering his upbringing made a reputation as a no nonsense individual and upon getting access to what he now dubbed "Fortress of solitude" as well a meeting a holographic version of his father Jor-El, his status as hero who bowed to no one and forged his own path amongst the plethora of heroes that had emerged over the years was well cemented in the minds of the people.. To some, such an attitude gained respect and admiration while for others... Not so much..
He wasn't arrogant, but he did have pride and confidence in who he was and what he represented as the last male Kryptonian. So despite some people not liking his unwillingness to bend the knee or be much of a team player, Kal didn't care as much and kept on doing what he did in his attempt to make earth more formidable and better both as Superman and Clark Kent the reporter..
You will lead them.. You will leap ahead of them.. You will be a god to them.. Were words that resonated with him.. Words that were spoken by none other than his biological father.. And in combination with his adopted father's upbringing, Kal lived his life not just as a "Hero", but as an usher of something more.. Something beyond human.. Something beyond just saving lives..
Fortunately for him though, he wasn't the only one as other unique individuals who graciously accepted the title of "heroes" played their part in making the world a better place.. Heroes that had conveniently remained in the shadows for a long time and decided to reveal themselves not long after HE revealed himself all those years back..
Well in the end, these "meta humans" as they were called couldn't be blamed for hiding over the years as the concept of people "fearing what they did not understand" was no fluke when it came to the everyday human.. Meta's mostly consisted of enhanced humans and for the reason of being different, the average man would fear them and worst case scenario, they would be seen as a threat by less open minded individuals, namely military personnel around the world..
Even with the wide spread recognition and acceptance of Meta's around the world, the necessity of their existence was put into question especially with hidden organizations plotting for their downfall.. Kal-El unsurprisingly being no 1 on their list.. After all, it was he who started the movement and gave these people confidence to rise from the shadows..
However, despite the threat, Kal-El wasn't concerned.. At least for now..
Kryptonite and interestingly enough, Magic, were weaknesses alright, but with his superior technology and will power, Kal-El had gained substantial immunity against them. Then coupled with his willingness to go as far as kill anyone who threatened his life, something the hero association known as Justice League frowned upon, these organizations steered clear of him for the most part.. So for him, as long as they stayed away and didn't do anything that threatened mankind or his ambitions, he would mind his own business..
This were terms he gave the individuals behind these shady organizations and so far, considering they had little advantage or leverage over him, they adhered.. Because they knew that if they didn't.. Well, he would crush them and considering many of these organizations were unknowns and outside the legal parameters, no one could prosecute him for such actions..
Also, being a well known and largely loved public figure, and in some cases a worshipped figure, Kal-El had little to lose should he decide to annihilate them.. And so for the meantime, he was untouchable.. More so after he and the so called Justice league saved mankind from a recent alien invasion..
Speaking of the League, joining them was more of strategy to say the least because as much as being a loner was preferable, Kal knew that alignment to a cause similar to what he pursued and with somewhat like minded people was necessary... At least for publicity sake..
Those days of playing chess with his adopted father made the so called "Man of steel" a tactician as he never did anything just for the fun of it or because it "felt right".. Every word, action, decision, all of them had be necessities, a trait that a certain dark knight also possessed which was funny considering the hero himself didn't kill, which was kind of a contrast to what a dark knight actually does..
Anyways, after all these years of keeping mankind safe (more like securing earth as his possession and new home) and making it his focus for the most part, Kal was experiencing something strange as regards feelings towards the other Krptonian, one that surprisingly turned out to be his cousin.. Kara Zor-El..
It had been 4 years now since she landed on earth as teenager just over 16 cycles old, and now having grown into an adult which by human standards would be 20 years old, Kara was... Well, developed... Too developed even.. In the right places..
Not being the only Kryptonian alive was refreshing, and knowing he still had some biological family left was even better.. However, discovering that there was another out there, like him.. There came some problems attached to that discovery, both general and personal..
Generally, Kara arriving as teenager meant she was too young at the time to engage in any "heroic" activity despite her gifts.. Which by proxy also meant she was vulnerable because as strong as she was under a yellow sun, she wasn't invincible just as he wasn't invincible.. At the time, it worried Kal a little that her arrival on Earth was known by Batman and a few higher ranking members of the league, with some at first being skeptical of the girl and understandably so. But eventually, they all agreed with him that it was better her existence was kept a secret especially from less savory individuals who would use such Information to cause panic amongst the people and maybe even turn the people against them..
One Super powered alien amongst enhanced Humans and other aliens was quite unsettling, but two of them...
Kal didn't want to risk it and as much as the young female Kryptonian didn't want to be kept hidden, something she was quite expressive about with some minor rebellious actions on her part, her desires ultimately had to take a backseat for some years under her cousin's watchful eye, at least until she was deemed "mature enough" to protect herself properly...
Knowing that she had to submit to her technically younger cousin did a huge blow to her pride, but in the end she was smart enough to realize it was for the best..
Kara on a basic level was almost as strong as her cousin, but she lacked experience especially living with humans.. More so, she lacked experience with controlling her strength, something that took Kal years to master and could put her in some serious trouble one day if precautions weren't taken..
Fortunately, disaster was avoided during those 4 years, but ultimately Kara's identity was revealed by her own hands, much to Kal's annoyance and so far, no disaster had befallen them.. Yet...
Now at 20, his cousin was her own hero dubbed "Super girl", which was quite funny as he was dubbed "Man" and she as "Girl".. Something that didn't go unnoticed by Kara and made her quite irritated..
He was glad for her considering she was now free from the shackles of the Shadows, but he was more so for the fact that her strength would be put to good use.. Keeping her occupied and distracted while he focused on more important and life threatening matters.. After all she was still quite young..
In the end, Kal was glad for having his beautiful cousin by his side.. Which now leads us to the second problem..
As for the personal aspect, the downside of being a literal "Man of steel" was that every other thing was just too fragile, and this was what Kal dealt with over the years by holding back for the most part.. An action that was considerably hard especially when it came to the opposite sex..
Sure he was a man of focus and dedication, but he too was no stranger to pleasure.. Specifically, pleasure from women..
Though due to his Christian upbringing via his adopted Mother, Kal wasn't a womanizer, as he had only slept with women who he genuinely had interest in and dated romantically except on one occasion.. That number of women he had been with was not more than 3, the latest being his co-worker Lois Lane who after a one night stand with him as "Clark" decided it was best things remained casual and professional between them.. Which was quite ironic since she was infatuated with his main personality as Superman.. Kal did want a relationship with her as she was the woman he had closest ties with at that point aside from his Mother, but didn't force things..
If Lois didn't want him as Clark, then she wouldn't get him as Superman either..
Now, a year later, Kal was left alone and sexually starved.. Though in reality, he had always been sexually starved considering how much he had to hold back when being intimate with the women he dated in the past.. So with his cousin being the only female in the world (with Wonder woman being close second) that he could truly let go with... Well Kal was conflicted..
Besides, he was supposed to repopulate his race and who better than a matured female Kryptonian to do so with, as he wasn't quite sure a human Mother would be best for his future children.. Or how such a combination would affect the gifts and abilities of potential children..
In the end, it was a bit complicated..
Kara despite her sometimes stubborn attitude was dead on gorgeous for a 20 year old.. Beautiful blonde hair, a pretty face, an attractive and fully fit figure which she didn't hesitate to show a little both as Kara Danvers and as Super girl, with the latter's costume showing off a little more skin than necessary.. A trait that a lot of female heroes seemed to possess for more obvious reasons.. The young female Kryptonian had the eyes of boys, men and in some cases women on her whether for admiration, or for just plain lust.. The website known as rule34 being a prime example of the latter case..
To Kal though, Her smile, her warm aura, her surprising strength which was quickly catching up to his despite him having stayed longer under a yellow sun.. Her youth, her innocence.. All of these things drew his mind more towards her and despite his many attempts of denial, Kal eventually accepted that he was attracted to his cousin.. But he wasn't quite sure what to do about these feelings, hence his divided mind on the matter..
On one hand, Krpton laws or what was left of them didn't prohibit intimate relations between distant relatives as most families liked to keep their name intact by marrying amongst themselves. Though such situations were not so common as most intimate "partnerships" as they were called was between people from different families..
However, on the other hand most laws on Earth didn't give room for such relations and with his adopted Mother being of the Christian faith, Kal wasn't sure she would be too accepting of such a relationship.. And of the few things Kal valued the most, his adopted Mother's opinion was right up there..
Then there was the most obvious problem.. Would Kara want that kind of relationship with him?..
Its not that he was in love with her per say, its just that being around Kara over the last year, aroused certain intimate feelings in him, even more so than he ever felt with the other women he was attracted to in the past.. It was hard to explain, but these feelings despite not being intentional, were there and he knew better than to just ignore them...
Ignorance can be bliss for some things, but there are also some things that you just can't ignore. The matters of the heart being one of them.. When he became a teenager, these were some words of advice his adopted father gave him, and now several years later, Kal was experiencing the practical aspect of it.. Truth be told, he had never been in love before despite having dated, and though he was sure his feelings for his cousin were not at that level, it just felt.. Different this time..
Were his feelings just from a sexual standpoint, or was there something more to it?.. These were questions that plagued his mind, and as much Kal knew he could overpower Kara if he wanted to, forcing himself upon her was just too extreme and too dark.. The fact that he even thought about such made him very uncomfortable as well as question his morals.. He may not show it, but it was driving him crazy especially whenever he was near her..
At this point, he couldn't even trust himself to be alone with her.. That was how serious the situation was.. And while Kal knew he had to confront these feelings, for the time being he would have to be patient... It was gonna have to be discipline before desire..
And so Kal promised himself that if he was going to pursue anything intimate with Kara, then he had to be sure it was what SHE also wanted, and to confirm that, he was going to wait for Her to show signs of attraction to Him.. Only then would he would confront things, and even though he could try to seduce her to make things easier, Kal felt somewhat uncomfortable with the idea and preferred to let nature take its course on the matter..
Was it cowardice?.. Maybe.. But Kal wasn't going to jeopardize relationship with his last remaining family all because he was struggling sexually.. Well, technically it was more than that considering the future of Krypton was at stake, but Kal knew these feelings were more for, selfish reasons..
To him, a bond between family was more important than a bond between lovers.. And so, the Man of Steel waited patiently, silently hoping that not too far down the line, his cousin would reciprocate his feelings.. Feelings that he couldn't express at the moment..
And if not.. Well, life goes on and Kal was sure he would find a woman to settle down with..
After all, he wasn't called the Man of Steel for nothing..
A/N: Finally, i am done with the chapter and unto the next one.. So, i made some changes such as Kal not being the all righteous hero with "good intentions", and i also changed the fact the his adopted father wasn't just a farmer but was a retired military veteran while he was alive.. This was necessary for the kind of character i want Kal to portray, something that y'all will read more of from next chapter as i intend to incorporate more dialogue and some action..
Next chapter will also touch on Kara's view point, and while this story probably won't be more than 5 chapters, i'll do my best to make it entertaining enough.. And who knows, i might just make it more than 5 chapters if i see the need..
Till next time..
