Cat Noir's feet dangled off the edge of the building as he waited for Ladybug to start their patrol. Despite the heat, he was very happy for today was Watermelon Day and it was one of his very favorite fruits. Even Ladybug looked like a watermelon sometimes, the red of her suit looking like the fruit and black dots the seeds.
Thump! Good, Ladybug was here! "Hey, Bugaboo! Guess what day it is!" "Cat, its Friday, not Hump Day!" Cat grinned at the confused expression on her face. "I don't know what day it is?" she shrugged. Cat pulled his baton and held it up to her. "Its National Watermelon Day!"
Cat plonked his favorite baseball cap that had the fruit on it, and Ladybug did a facepalm groaning softly. Cat was cute, but it he have to wear that hat on patrol? It was so embarrassing! "Cat, no. Your not wearing that hat on patrol." Cat lay back, soaking in the sun. "Cat, yes." "No time for napping, Kitty. Let's go!"
"Hold on minute," he grumbled, picking up the crayons he had used to draw a watermelon before partner had shown up. He slowly stood up. Tapping the picture to Ladybug's back. Cat giggled. "I think the sun is getting to you. Let's go."
There was a boom! That came from downtown and the two friends looked at each other. "Lucky Charm!" Ladybug called, tossing her yo-yo in the air. Ladybug and Cat looked up to see what the Lucky Charm would be.
Splat! The pink juice and green rind of a watermelon splattered on Ladybug's feet. "For real?" Ladybug growled under her breath. It was almost Pumpkin Spice Season, not Watermelon season!
"I sure hope we need that in pieces," Cat said, bending down. Ladybug bent down too, but felt something flutter at her back and she tore it off. "Cat, did you have something to do with this?" "I still think you look like a Watermelon."
Cat grabbed a chunk of melon and took off. "You come back here!" Ladybug yelled, and zipped after him.
It may be Watermelon Day, but there was always a akuma to fight!
