Author's Note: In a Pokemon mood now so here I go.

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon in any way, shape, or form.

Chapter 1

Unown Realm…

Thousands of Unown revolved in patterns around a massive blue orb of concentrated psychic energy, chiming in random alien tones. They operated as a hive mind while the Creator slumbered, but their actions were often far from logical, often random in fact.

Today they've decided to displace some outworlder and bring them to the world of Pokemon, because they've already seen how fate is supposed to turn out and wanted to watch something new. So for the sake of entertainment, they've thrown in their Wild Card.

Me…

Frankly I think they're a bunch of alphabet soup looking pricks. Ever since I fell through that hole in space they made under me they've been really upfront about their intentions towards me telepathically. I'll be placed in a body with a history of their design, with the necessary knowledge supplemented to me. Honestly, If I hadn't seen the level of shenanigans they pulled in that Entei movie I'd question their ability to freely alter reality so blatantly like that.

I'm pissed they decided to just yoink me out of my reality, but at least I get to train Pokemon for real. Silver linings people, they keep ya sane.

Suddenly another hole in space opens behind me and I'm shoved through it with telekinesis. I felt my body change drastically as I passed through the portal, losing consciousness immediately after.

Hoenn Region, Meteor Village…

I awoke in an unfamiliar bed, in an unfamiliar room, and everything looked straight out of an anime. That checks out. I climb out of bed and leave the very spartan bedroom in search of a bathroom. Upon finding it I went to check my reflection.

'Well look at you, you handsome fuck.'

I was very tan, and pretty muscular too. My hair was spiky like Cloud Strife's but fluffier and stark white. My eyes were blood red and the pupils seemed to turn into slits, odd. I spot a headband hanging on the counter. It was black in color, and bore white Unown symbols across it. I tide it just over my bangs. It contrasted with my new hair color nicely, now I just needed

actual clothing. Heading back to the bedroom I look through the plain wardrobe and find a few sets of the same outfit.

'Yeah, I'm in an anime alright…'

Said outfit consisted of a black skin tight short sleeve compression shirt with the collar stopping half way up my adams apple, black pants with several pockets, socks, and a long square-ish black cloth with white fur lining the top and bottom I couldn't decipher the purpose of immediately.

On closer inspection it had belt loops in the interior making it a sweet as hip cape thing. I don't actually know what these are called, but I know Archer pulls em off and so do I. Now the only question is where are my shoes? I look around the bedroom but don't spot them, though I do come across a black tactical duffle bag. Better yet, it was bigger on the inside, and best of all, there were Poke Balls inside. There were traveling supplies too, but mostly the Poke Ball thing.

I mean, come on. Get your head out of your ass, what else matters?

'Well if my shoes aren't here, then they must be at the front door. Time to see if anyone else lives here I guess.'

Once I leave the hallway my bedroom was in I quickly realize the house I'm in is pretty damn big, with archaic architecture all around. I got turned around a couple times making my way to the front door, but once I got there I found my shoes. Black boots with four white lines traveling from the toes and stopping at the laces.

After strapping them on I step outside and nearly run right back in and slam the door shut because there were two men standing on either side of the door. Before my fight or flight instincts kicked in though they both turned and bowed.

Guards then? "Good morning young master, your father awaits you in the village square."

"Okay? I'll go there then, I guess. Thank you." I awkwardly walk off before they can question me on any strange behavior. I rubbed my temples sifting through foreign knowledge of the village layout, which apparently wasn't necessary because the Square was a straight shot from the house I just left.

As I approached, I realized that the village was underground which explained the only light sources being the numerous lamps and torchlights. Specifically we were under Meteor Falls, meaning I was in the Hoenn region. Not only that, but I was amongst, and one of, the mysterious Draconid Tribe.

Entering the Square I find who I'm guessing is my father sitting in an important looking chair, not quite a throne though. He looked like a hardass. His hair was black and much less spiky than

mine, but for the most part looked like an older me. He was also wearing the typical robes of the Draconid tribe, complete with two of the same headband I wore, only reverse colored and with one crossed over the other.

"About time you made it, boy. You didn't bring your bag however. Are you prepared for your trial or not?" Yeah, definitely a hardass. The Trial was…going deep into an enormous cave system known as the Dragon's Maw and finding the dragon that would become my starter.

And not get eaten in the process, of course. The dragons within were more tame around the tribe, but if you aren't careful, or disrespectful, you're getting hospitalized at the minimum. Essentially, don't fuck around with dragons, or you're gonna find out.

"Yeah, I'll grab my bag then I'm good to go." I don't have any knowledge on how to interact with these people so I need to be on my way before that becomes a problem. Honestly I might need to leave Hoenn until I'm stronger. I jog back to the house and retrieve my bag, then I make my way to the entrance of Dragon's Maw.

"Allister!" I turn to see my "father", Augus is his name apparently, and realize Allister must be my name. 'Why wasn't that included in the run down the Unown gave me? Kind of important to know my own name!'

"Remember as son of the Chief your choice in your partner reflects on not only me, but your people as a whole. So be selective."

'Feeling the love and concern, really.' I look at him with a raised brow and sigh, 'Yeah I'm gonna mouth off, can't stop it.'

"Whatever I leave here with will be my partner because of compatibility, not to satisfy anyones ego. This is my starter for my journey, so it's ultimately my call and no one else's." The man sneers, oh yeah he didn't like that. Before he can get another word in though I walk off into the cave. I've no time for him.

My journey awaits~

Within Dragon's Maw…

I had been walking aimlessly through winding tunnels for the better part of an hour. Thankfully the caverns were well lit in most areas. I'd seen only a couple of Pokemon so far, a Goomy and Jangmo-o respectively, but I hadn't felt any kind of spark with either of them. Not to say I wasn't over the moon to meet Pokemon in the fleas for the first time, but neither would be my partner.

I briefly caught a glimpse of what might have been a Deino, but I had immediately left the area. Wherever a Deino is, a Hydreigon is surely nearby. That's what these foreign memories tell me anyways, that and Hydreigon are fucking nuts.

Something to note, I've felt something nudge at the back of my mind. A phantom touch that could just as easily be my imagination had it not kept occurring, and it's getting stronger. I'm guessing this was the work of a psychic type, but there shouldn't be any here. The only Psychic/Dragon Types I could think of were Latias, Latios, and Ultra Necrozma.

If I turn the corner and walk into Ultra Necrozma, I'm chucking a Poke Ball and running. After screaming like a little girl of course.

'help…'

'JESUS!' I barely keep from shouting as goosebumps travel up and down my body. Okay, telepathy has a physical sensation in your head and it was not very pleasant the first time apparently. I hear the sound of angry Pokemon, they sounded young though.

'Help!'

'Yeah, yeah, I hear ya…' I don't know if I was responding or not, but either way I started running towards the howls of angry little drakes. Turning the corner, I find three young Bagon accosting another drakeling laying beaten in the dirt. I drew closer silently, avoiding detection as long as possible.

I was almost a meter away when I could finally make out the injured Pokemon. It was bat-like in appearance. Purple and black made up the colors on its body, before the bruising I mean, and it bore large yellow eyes around black slitted pupils. One eye was currently swollen shut however, and their right wing seemed unusable at the moment. It was a Noibat, and if I'm right, it had its species hidden ability, telepathy.

Looking around quickly I see indents in the cavern walls all around, this was the Bagon's territory, and Noibat had likely stumbled into it without meaning to.

"Bagon", they turned swiftly to mean mug the fuck out of me. Really living up to that nasty attitude dragons are known for. "I'm sure this Noibat meant no harm when entering your territory, and you've surely made your point. How about we leave it at that and I shall take Noibat and we'll be out of your…hair?"

The Bagon all growled and two of them were building up Ember attacks.

"No dice huh? Eh, diplomacy is overrated." I then proceed to punt the center Bagon hard enough for it to bounce off the wall behind the injured Noibat and fly behind me. The other two are so shocked at the sheer size of my balls that they abort their Embers and gawk at me. In their shock I grabbed Noibat, tucking it into my chest, and booked it back the way I came.

Fortunately I had placed markers throughout the walls of the caverns so I was able to take a much more direct route back to the entrance. However before I could even see said entrance I

heard a loud roar from where I just came from. That was a Salamence, the Bagon had clearly snitched on me for kicking that one Bagon's shit in.

I glance behind me and immediately have to throw my body to the right with all my strength, and only barely avoid the enormous beam of black, blue, and white energy two meters across that blasts past me and carves a gaping molten tunnel through the cave system. DO NOT. FUCK AROUND. WITH DRAGONS! …And that better have been a Hyper Beam, because I don't think I could handle it if that had just been Dragon Pulse.

'I think you made their mother angry…' The Noibat's pupils were pinpricks while it was awestruck by the sheer destruction before it.

"Shush, you! I'm working on getting us out of this alive-Are you fucking kidding me?!" A large smoking form made its way through the molten hole in the wall. It displaced the smoke with a roar of its own, revealing itself to be an enormous Hydreigon, the most temperamental Dragon type on the planet.

Silver lining? I'm not the one it's pissed at.

All three of its heads charged orbs of the same energy that had just slammed into it. Triple Hyper Beam? 'Fuck this, fuck you, I'm leaving and taking my little bat dragon with me.'

'Please do…'

The triple Hyper Beam was launched with even greater strength then the previous one, which made sense with how easily it seemed to shake it off. However, while the beam made contact, Salamence had not been idle. It was charging through the beam wreathed in blue and gold flames like a speeding comet.

Most likely Dragon Rush.

Salamence slammed into Hydreigon by the time I had put a few meters between us, the force of it lifting me off the ground and forcing me to roll to a stop. Looking at the results I'm relieved to see they both went through the same hole Hydreigon had left from, not that it meant that I was safe. Far from it.

Something caught my attention near where the collision happened. A bluish black scale was lodged in a wall. A Dragon Scale from an obscenely powerful Hydreigon? Yes please! I run towards it despite the sound of two titans clashing a few meters away.

'What the heck are you doing Human?! You run away from danger, away!'

'Being greedy and stupid obviously! Yoink!' I quickly pulled the scale out of the wall, threw it in my pack, and resumed booking it for my life.

I saw the entrance after a couple more minutes of running. Finally making my way out I see Augus as well as other tribesmen waiting for me but I run right past them to where the village Healer is supposed to be. I'm probably gonna get an earful for that later, but I have bigger concerns right now. I glance down at the little bundle of fur in my arms.

Noibat seems to be looking at me with a bit of wonder in its eyes now that we're not in immediate mortal peril. "We haven't had a chance to discuss it, and you don't have to answer now, but I was in there to find my partner. Interested?"

The awe intensifies, 'You want me? But I'm a weakling! You had better luck warding off those Bagon than I did, and you're a human!'

I slowed to a halt and raised Noibat up in my hands so we're eye level. "I intend to be the strongest Trainer that ever lived, to fight again and again, each battle more intense than the last. To raise my team to be the absolute pinnacle of their species. It doesn't matter where you started, what matters is that I do my duty to bring every drop of your potential to the surface. You'll be my starter, the cornerstone of my team. And besides…"

I tucked the utterly mystified Noibat into my arm as I finished the trek to the Healer's workplace, and pushed the door open, a grin on my face.

"...Who doesn't love a good underdog story?"

End Chapter

Author's Note: I'm not in love with the flow of this chapter, but it should improve within the next couple chapters after this. Let me know what you all think. I don't know how interested people are in a Noibat starter, but I love Noivern, and I think it's a unique pick for a dragon starter. Also I'm not limiting myself to Dragon Types for those who are curious.

Anyways, I'm gonna start on Chapter 2 now, bye bye!
