First Steps
"Careful, Connor," Annabelle said while she watched the twins crawling toward the coffee table and Murphy reached over, tugging on his twin's right foot.
"Go," Connor said while Connor looked back at him and Connor lightly shook his leg to get Murphy to let go.
"Bad," Murphy said while pointing to the coffee table and Connor frowned.
"What's goin' on?" Noah asked while he watched the football match on the black and white television then he glanced at the boys, who were now playfully fighting. "Boys!"
Connor and Murphy looked at their da when Connor reached for the coffee table and he pulled himself up to his feet. Murphy, not wanting to be on the floor by himself, used the coffee table to pull himself up to his feet and they smiled at each other.
"Oh! Look at my big boys!" Annabelle said and they turned to face her. Noah and Annabelle noticed how the twins were looking at each other and the twins looked down at their feet.
"Go?" Murphy asked.
"Go!" Connor said with a wide grin.
At the same time, the twins lifted their left feet as they moved forward then they lifted their right feet and Annabelle and Noah stood up.
"That's it! Come here!" Annabelle said.
Murphy took hold of Connor's right hand while they toddled toward Annabelle then she knelt down and she smiled. She gave them a small hug as the twins giggled and she lightly kissed their cheeks. Noah was smiling as well when he knelt down and the twins turned to him.
"Go on. Go t'Da," she whispered.
With a small glance, the twins toddled to him and Noah held his arms out. He carefully lifted the twins off the floor as Annabelle walked to him and he was hugging the twins.
"Well done," he said in a soft voice and the twins giggled while they clapped their hands.
"Well done indeed," Annabelle said. She then looked around the room when she sighed and she placed her hands on her hips. "I guess we'll have t'move things up higher."
"Aye," he said with a nod and the twins gave each other an impish grin.
