He heard her scream just as he arrived to an empty clearing, her scent stopping dead at the well's edge in a clear description of what had occurred; Kagome hadn't even made it into the time passage to return to her home before the other scent, a sickeningly foul one that forced Inuyasha to raise his sleeve to his nose as he growled wildly, absorbed Kagome's into its own and vanished.
It wasn't long before Koga emerged into the clearing, drawn by the sound of Kagome's perilous shriek cut short in a fearsome silence that spoke more than any scream. It was obvious she had been rendered unconscious, though how, neither knew for sure. Targeting Inuyasha with a vicious scowl, Koga made to approach him for a fight, when Kikyo, Miroku and Sango cleared the treeline and joined them.
"Inuyasha, tell me that wasn't what I think it was." Sango gulped, noting the thunderous rage emitting from Koga as he prowled around Inuyasha, stalking him with clear malice. Rushing to stand between the two, Sango narrowed her eyes at the wolf yokai. "Stand down, idiot, that won't help Kagome now."
Corrected by the slayer and embarrassed at her reproach, Koga lowered his shaking fists, but didn't cease pacing the clearing, gathering scents where he could.
"Kagome was taken." Kikyo's expressionless face twitched, the guilt in her voice clear. Inuyasha turned from her rapidly where she dismounted Kirara along with Miroku, not the type to raise a hand to a woman but desperately fighting the urge to approach the priestess with a less than soft rebuttal. Kikyo watched his shoulders shake and sighed deeply, hefting her bow. "We'd better move quickly then, following the instructions of the dead castaway demon."
"Let's go." Miroku agreed, nodding before following behind Kikyo.
Inuyasha stood, trembling with fury as his eyes glitched a dangerous combination of deep red and white, the flickering in tune with the rumble of his voice as he growled under his breath,
"I'm going to find you, you worthless fucking coward. And if you dare lay a hand on her…" His growls erupted, the noise sending wildlife scurrying away in caution as he grasped the hilt of his sword and tried to even his chaotic breaths. Thirsting for blood, he bound into the forest, easily overtaking the humans who had already departed and racing in the direction of the demon's noxious scent.
XOX
"Comfortable, Kagome?"
Knowing she had no way to respond with the silken gag knotted between her teeth, the ruthless half-demon chuckled until his shoulders shook, watching the miko writhe. He could, and did for the most part, sit and watch her struggle for hours. Unfortunately, his opportunity to abduct the pitiless human had been a slim and randomly occurring advantage, and in doing so, he had left quite the trail behind him. It was likely that miserable hanyou and his rag-tag group were halfway to finding him at this point, a little sooner than he'd hoped but no matter. He'd only had time to tie Kagome's arms by the wrist and her legs by the ankles, drawing each apart so she lay on her back, unmoving, trapped by the bonds. He had torn off the miserable little outfit she wore, barely covering her to begin with, so now she wriggled in naked humility before him. He took in her curves and intimate places with growing impatience. Gods, but she looked like Kikyo.
He sat back, admiring the way that the cool air in his quarters affected her body; especially the peaks of her breasts, which tightened atop the goose bumped skin, trembling timidly in her fight to free herself. He spoke again,
"Now that you're with me, I have someone to talk to. Good. I grow tired of my cast offs, that whore Kagura and the boring little child." Almost muttering to himself, he uncrossed his legs and splayed them lazily out before him, resting his chin in the palm of his hand. His groin tightened as a tear fell from Kagome's eyes, but he made no effort to hide this, instead reaching down to handle himself. "I'm glad you're here, Kagome. Not only will you draw the priestess of my desire into my trap, but you've given me the two halves of the jewel. As you can see, you've already been of more use than bait."
She couldn't see, but she thought back to what Inuyasha had said about how a priestess with purifying capabilities would be needed to reunite the jewel halves, and noticed with terror that the weight around her neck from her half of the jewel was gone.
"Yes, I have the shikon jewel, and it's all thanks to your emergence." Naraku grinned at her as she let out a horrified whine, muffled by the garment he had used to tie off her mouth. The sound emitting from the miko made him intensify the motion of his hand, narrowing his eyes as they roamed all over her body. "Such a strange miko, so weak but so useful. And now that I have you, I see no reason not to enjoy some of the things I never got a chance to with Kikyo. After all, you look just like her, and I imagine once she no doubt arrives, she'll put up much more of a fight than you."
But he has the jewel already, Kagome desperately pulled at the restraints on her wrists, only managing to cut an angry red line of resistance into her skin. How could a demon be persuaded by desire alone, for a human at that? She closed her eyes, willing away the scene she found herself a hostage in, dragging up images of Inuyasha in the hopes of calming herself. Instead, she remembered his words when he was in his human form: Being human makes me this weak. Her eyes forced themselves open again as the realization dawned on her. Naraku a half-demon, had the same human emotions and weaknesses that Inuyasha had inherited.
She just had to figure out which one of those weaknesses was Naraku's, and maybe she had a change yet to fight. However, with her mouth taped off, utilizing any weakness proved difficult. Even more so when she felt a hand grasp her thigh, hard, and she looked up, her breath catching in her throat. Naraku glared coldly down at her, one hand inching up the side of her naked body, the other just out of sight, fondling something that made a warm and repetitive noise. Looking to his arm, she saw its rotating motion back and forth and nearly threw up in her mouth. Suddenly more aware of her exposure, she cringed away from his hand, only to feel his fingers curl warningly into her. The pressure made her gasp, a wave of pain shuddering up her body.
"I'm so sorry, Kagome." Naraku leaned over her, and she flinched as he came close. The hand that had begun sinking its claws into her thigh released itself, raising to nick the sides of the gag so that it fell away, allowing her sore mouth freedom, then reached behind her neck. "I suppose if we're going to converse, you'll need your sweet little mouth back."
Immediately, she let in a painful inhale of breath and exhaled a fragmented sob. The harsh red reminder of where the gag had been marked her cheeks, and a light cut where Naraku's nail had nicked her began to bleed lightly. The demon didn't hesitate before sloping down and extending his tongue to lick up the blood. His fingers worked behind her neck for a moment, before he pulled away with satisfaction, and held up a shimmering pink half-circle between his fingers.
"I thank you for your assistance, bitch." With that he pressed the half circle to the one he had re-fastened around her neck, watching as the two pieces united, becoming one under the purity of Kagome's presence. The demon's eyes watched with appraisal as the jewel reformed, and a surge of power enlightened his aura. "Finally, the power of the shikon jewel will be mine – more than enough to take down the priestess I seek. And in the meantime…"
As his tongue darted down once more, licking up the fresh blood that had sprung from the cut and making contact with Kagome's cheek so close to her lips, she let out a shriek, one that was silenced immediately by a cold and invasive kiss powering its way down into her throat. Naraku's tongue wormed forcefully through her teeth, even as she bit down, ignoring her mild attack. She heard him growl approvingly as she shook, praying for anyone to come stop him.
As his mouth overwhelmed hers, she gagged, struggling wildly though the cuffs on her wrists and ankles pulled excruciatingly. When finally the demon relented and pulled his tongue from her lips, nipping at them intimidatingly as he retreated, she took the moment to scream,
"Inuyasha, anyone! Someone, please!"
Naraku lifted one hand to smack her face coldly, then slapped her again across the other side. He began to alternate before stopping and grasping her chin with his thumb, steadying her head once more, grinning with fangs extended.
"Oh, he'll come." Naraku confirmed, licking the sharp points of his teeth as he descended on her. "And it'll be too late. He'll die knowing that."
"Don't forget, Naraku, there are more of us than you." Kagome wept even as she resisted and squeezed the words out of her throat around the shrieks and cries for help she produced. But the demon wasn't wasting any time now and had busied his mouth with alternate distractions, trailing across her body, leaving a putrid path of fang and nail marks behind him.
Desperately, she ran over details in her mind, grasping for some sort of defense against the demon, but with every part of her exposed, she only felt the dread of her situation dragging her back to the sickening reality. Still thrashing and twisting her wrists, pulling with all her strength for release, she thought again of weakness. If only I weren't, just as he suspected… what good were all of those lessons from Kikyo…
She almost gasped, reminded. Lessons from Kikyo, of course! And as quickly as she could, she began to recall details from her classes, pouring over every instance in case anything might prove relevant, until finally she stopped at the words Kikyo had last imparted; This spiritual energy can even be used as a shield, if enough focus is applied. Adrenaline can often spark the first occurrences of this ability, so don't feel too bad if you can't call it to will at this exact moment.
Kagome bit her lip, clenching her eyes shut to block out the sight of Naraku. If there is ever a time, she thought to herself, holding herself steady with the affirmation of her own voice, and began to focus the same way she did when she pointed an arrow at an enemy, driving the energy of her power to the tip of the bow. It was difficult to remain meditative as Naraku continued his lewd exploration of her body, especially when his large and merciless hands reached her chest and grasped both breasts in a grip so powerful she nearly passed out waiting for him to release her again. Focus, Kagome! She begged herself, anguish breaking through her own emulation, and she took in a vast breath despite the way her tense body sought to hold everything into itself if it could spare even an inch of defense from Naraku.
A sudden snap and crackling of intense blue and white light burst into effect between Kagome and the half demon, who abruptly removed his hand as though burned, and stared down at his skin incredulously. Rivulets of smoke like tendrils rose from his palms where the shield now wavering around her had pressed him back, needling him with its protective field. Giving a slight growl, Naraku reached forward with a fist raised, ready to punish the human for her grave mistake, when he was knocked back by the force of his own assault resounding off the web of Kagome's encasement.
"Fucking bitch!" Naraku roared, but Kagome didn't flinch this time, all of her energy harnessed in keeping the glowing bubble secure around herself. Already she had begun to sweat under the effort, the unfamiliar pressure of the spiritual effort draining her quickly. This didn't escape Naraku, who paced wildly before the tethered priestess with a maniacal glint in his already cold and psychotic gaze. Raising his voice so the girl could hear him even shrouded in her state of concentration, Naraku hollered over her, "That shield won't last long, you weak, pathetic, mortal, and when it fails, you will wish you had have taken my touch willingly. I won't spare you now, and I won't kill you immediately after use, either, as I had planned. No… No, you little bitch, I will keep you alive for as long as your body holds out, do you understand? You have sealed your fate. As soon as your shield fails, I'll take the jewel and you'll only wish I had fucked you raw as a half-demon!"
Already buckling beneath the weight of her shield, Kagome murmured a prayer and maintained a single-minded, fastidious strength, flexing every last ounce of power she had. I'll hold out as long as I can, Inuyasha. His name in her mind, she held the shield with her tremors ever increasing, as Naraku waited for her might to fail and his vengeance to be realized.
