But even though my brain has full knowledge of what it contains, a part of me just don't want to believe it.
So I decide to stay in volunteer ignorance and read the letter like I didn't know anything of what she was containing :
{My dear Yn, I think you already know what I'm about to tell you. Years ago, when you first started your studying at Hogwarts, I promised you that I would keep an eye on your parents for you while you were away. That I couldn't do this spell more often because of my condition and even less in the area of Hogwarts with cause, it numerous spell of protection. The only case I would do it to send a letter would be for a major emergency.
I know you got where I was going. I am so sorry sweetie, they took a walk in the woods and were given the kiss of 2 dementors that've been sent back to Askaban as soon as possible. I'm sorry darling but we couldn't do anything, they've been declared dead this morning.
I wanted you to learn the news by me. Again, I am really sorry my dear, if you need anything, I am here.
Mme Williams. }
I am stuck, I stare at the words while my brain goes through each details that contains this letter. My parents are dead, I don't have any other family, I'm an.. orphan?... Where am I going to go? What is going to happen with the house? And where am I gonna live now ?
No, stop! It's not the place nor the moment to freak out. I have the time to think about that. I just came back from the holidays, they're enough time to clear all of that. I knew it was gonna happen one day or an other, it just happened sooner then I've ever thought.
3rd person POV
As she starts to relax and come back from her zone out in which she derived without realizing it, she takes in her surrounding. The door is now closed and she can hear professor Lupin starting his lesson. This quickly brings her back to reality. But she can't help but have this weight on her chest.
3:55 PM
Professor Lupin : ...And this is what concludes this lesson.
Good work everyone, I'll see you at our next class.
With those words said, she gathers all of her things and heads towards the door. While she waits for the others to pass to get out of her row, her mind drifts away in thoughts.
Before she knows it, she's walking toward the exit while the image of how it must have happened plays in a loop in her head and she tries to find a case where they could've avoided it. Even though they know that nobody could have known it was going to happen, exception of the ministry.
"Why do they have to be so extreme, I mean they can just send some aurors to find this guy. It's so stupid to think that the ones who couldn't keep him locked will be the ones able to track down and bring the dude back."
Just as she is about to pass the doorway, she feels a hand pose itself on her shoulder. This brings her immediately back to the reality she was trying to avoid. She stops and turns her head to see who it is that felt the need to keep her from going away from this class.
But when she sees the soft smile of her teacher, she freezes in place. "What have I done that he needs to keep me behind for? I don't want any trouble, I didn't do anything! What does he need to tell me ?"
She is absolutely terrified and just wants to run at this exact moment. But that, he can't know it, nobody can, she can't be seen weak. So she always wears her innocent, confident and happy mask. The one made especially for those situations, the one she wears every time she talks to someone.
She's been using this one for so long that she can't even remember when she wasn't using it. He always comes so naturally it's like a second skin for her. The more she becomes weak, the stronger the mask gets. It's like her blankie, she can't go anywhere without knowing she can put it on. And this instant is one of the reasons why it's like that.
Professor Lupin : Are you okay Yn?
Yn : Yes, why?
Professor Lupin: you seemed a little off today. Is something bothering you?
"Oh no, don't worry professor. I just forgot homework that was due for today and did it at the last minute last night." She says with slight laughter to hide her obvious discomfort. She didn't want to lie, especially to him, he was always so understanding with her, but he couldn't know the truth. It was just out of question. "I'm just tired that's it"
Professor Lupin: You shouldn't wait till the last minute to do your homework, it's no good for your health
Yn : I know, but like I said, I just forgot it. I had a project on who I put all of my mind and I just forgot this homework. I promise, it's just a one-time thing
Professor Lupin: okay if you say so. If you need help with your projects, you can always ask for help from your teacher, remember that. Well maybe not Snape but I am sure that the rest of my colleagues would be more than happy to help
"I'll keep it in mind professor. Was there anything else you wanted to talk to me about ? " She says while praying for him to answer no and allow her to get out of this class
"No, you can go. I am sure that your friends are waiting for you" he says while offering her his classic gentleman smile
She nod with a smile as for the answer and goes to get out when she hears him say " if you need anything, my door is always open " Once again, she nods in his direction and continues her way out of the class, her heart hammering in her chest like she just ran like crazy for the entire discussion.
As soon she's out in the hallway, she starts to walk in the direction of the library. She needs to calm herself down and in her case, nothing works better than a good book.
Once there, they lose no time and immediately go to their spot in the corner of the back of the library. It's THE cozy spot in the whole library or at least in their opinion
He's absolutely perfect for the solitary like her, it's a 2 places table with the 2 chairs and the table just beside the wall. It's so close to the wall that she only has to scoot her chair a bit to make her chair and the wall ones.
She says that it's "her" spot because when she comes here it's always completely empty. This phenomenon is caused by Madam Pince's established office a few meters away from there. But she doesn't care, she never told Yn anything. It's mainly because she doesn't even know her existence, but it's okay for her,or at least that's what she pretends. It's not like it was something new to her but it still hurts. But that she will never admit it.
She puts her bag with all of her books on the second chair and gets herself on the chair in the corner. She grabs her ear plugs from her pocket and puts them on. "Finally, the sweet and delightful silence." She knows that a library is silent but it's not the same as when you have ear plugs on, it's a different type of silence for her.
She takes a few seconds to enjoy this sweet silence, then grabs her notebook and looks at the list of homework due for this week.
"Okay, so I have 3 dissertations, a research in potion and 2 questionary all due for Friday. Why do they all pick the same due date for their homework?
Oh, I know. It's because they all come from the same teacher that wants our death! So let's get started, the quicker I start, the quicker I'm done."
Like always, she put the books that she need in the left corner of the table, all of the sheets sorted by subject in the right and her ink with the quill between them, right in the middle.
Grabbing the first subject of dissertation, her mind tries to bring her back to her thoughts. "There is no chance that he wins, the best way to keep it from them, is to keep him busy. And it's exactly what I'm going to do."
