Chapter 33: The Fifth Haliwheel

February 24, 2002 – Sunday

P3

"To marriage!" Phoebe toasted pushing her glass into the middle of the table and clinking glasses with the other two couples, Paige and Willow rushing back to the booth just in time to join in.

The entire family were gathered at P3. The first time in a while that they had been together at the end of a day without someone missing due to one commitment or another.

Paige and Willow were seated on the only single chairs in the booth with Phoebe and Cole sat to their right on the couch, Piper and Leo to their left on the other couch and Buffy and Faith across from them on the two-seater.

Paige glanced to her right and cringed seeing Phoebe with her legs over Cole's, nipping at his neck playfully and nibbling his earlobe.

"Hey!" Piper called sharply. "This is supposed to be our anniversary," she chastised, gesturing to herself and Leo.

"Oh um..." Phoebe struggled to speak as Cole distractingly kissed and bit her neck, "...to Piper and Leo's marriage," she corrected herself pulling on Cole's hair to make him look at her. "May ours be as successful as theirs."

"Yeah, see, that still didn't sound like it was about us," Piper mused shaking her head but Phoebe and Cole were oblivious as he whispered something in her ear and she giggled loudly.

Paige's eyebrows rose as she watched them, turning to Piper and Leo for conversation instead only to find them kissing deeply, their fingers entwined.

She sighed pursing her lips and looked over at Prue and Andy: her last hope, and rolled her eyes at what she saw, Prue had her right arm around Andy's shoulders, her hand in his hair kissing him quickly as he whispered to her, tracing her stomach with his fingers, the other hand running up and down her back.

Paige nodded her head in silent acceptance, "Well, alright, everybody." She cried loudly patting her knees with her hands and rising to her feet, "I'm going to go, I'm tired." She told them awkwardly feeling a little uncomfortable.

"Wait!" Cole called to her, "You can't go yet, Paige. We haven't gotten to the good part." He chuckled as Phoebe attacked his earlobe again.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Paige apologized sarcastically as she sank back down in her chair. "I thought watching you guys make out all night was supposed to be the highlight of my evening," she explained with false cheer, chuckling uncomfortably.

"Oh, I'm sorry, sweetie." Phoebe apologized for the collective group. "Are we boring you?"

"No, no it's just…" Paige looked at Phoebe pointedly. "It is weird seeing a girl that wasn't the marrying type be... so... married," she said with a shrug.

Phoebe pointed at Piper. "Piper tried to tell me that it was going to be great and different," she tried to explain with a large grin.

"Yeah, well, you'll just have to experience it," Piper took over smiling also. "Then you'll understand."

Paige and Willow nodded watching as Phoebe and Cole went back to kissing each other's' face off and Piper and Leo went to back to their long and slow kisses.

Buffy and Faith looked at one another then back to Paige and Willow. Faith exclaimed, "Oh enough!" She pulled everyone's attention from their spouse.

Buffy shook her head at Paige. "Don't listen to them, that's only one side of the story."

Paige glanced at the other two couples who were frowning at Buffy and Faith and began to smile.

"Yeah," Faith agreed as they disentangled themselves from one another. "Marriage is hard," she admitted with a sigh, leaning back into Buffy.

"And limiting," Buffy added and Faith nodded along. "Before you make any decision you have to stop and consider what your spouse would do, how your spouse would feel about it, what option your spouse would choose," she explained and Paige felt her smile widen while Willow began giggling at her mother and eldest aunt's expression.

"Then there's all that stuff about communication and balance and talking about everything!" Faith continued rolling her eyes at the scenario. "I mean, really, who wants to live their life talking about every little thing instead of actually doing it."

"Exactly!" Buffy threw up her hands incredulously turning to her wife, then shifted her eyes back to Paige and Willow, "Marriage sucks the fun out of new experiences," she told them matter-of-factly. "There's no more spontaneity, no more going on impulse, instead you have to talk and compromise and plan instead of just living in the moment."

"And then there's the nagging," Faith added with wide eyes as Paige and Willow laughed loudly. "Oh man, the nagging drives you crazy!"

"Marriage sucks, Paige," Buffy told her with a smirk. "Don't ever do it. Don't ever get married," she concluded the two couples staring at them in shock.

Paige giggled as she shuffled over to them, "Aww you two are awesome!" she cried throwing her arms around their necks,

"I have to agree with Aunt Paige," Willow said. "You both said all of that just to make her feel better."

Paige grinned squeezing in next to Faith who moved to sit half in Buffy's lap to accommodate. "Willow's right," she said agreeing with her redheaded niece.

"You are very welcome, Aunt Paige," Faith replied and Paige kissed her cheek.

"Besides, it's all true," Buffy admitted with an amused grin. "It's just the side people don't like to talk about."

"That is true," Faith giggled tilting her head to kiss Buffy's lips.

Willow gave an affirmative nod and stated, "Best married couple ever."

"Hey!" Phoebe and Piper cried together, now fully understanding and able to laugh.

Paige turned to them and shrugged while Faith stuck out her tongue. "Ha!" Faith said. "Buffy and I are the best married couple ever."

"Only cause you both so cynical," Piper quipped with a smirk, sticking her tongue out at Faith and Buffy, both of whom scowled.

Paige chuckled as she wriggled herself free from the tight squeeze and went back to her own seat, "So...the good part?" she asked looking at Cole.

"Yes!" he nodded, "The good part. Excuse me." He smiled to Phoebe and she removed her legs so he could stand. He pulled out a long envelope from his coat pocket and handed it to Piper, grinning like a Cheshire cat.

Piper stared at him questioningly then opened the envelope. "Oh my god!" she cried in surprise pulling out what was inside.

"Cole." Leo shook his head, at a loss for words.

Cole shrugged, sitting back down. "It's no big deal."

"Just the finest hotel in Hawaii," Leo stated reading over the brochure.

"What!" Faith gasped leaning forward in her seat.

Cole shrugged again, "I just didn't think it was right you guys never got a honeymoon."

Faith leaned into Buffy who shook her head placing a finger to her lips, "Don't ruin this," Buffy warned, knowing Faith was about to point out that fact that they never got a honeymoon either and Faith closed her mouth obediently.

"Wow you got them tickets to Hawaii, Uncle Cole?" Willow said as she leaned over and looked at the tickets in her mother's hands.

"Well, not plane tickets," Cole admitted. "They'll have to orb there." He chuckled looking over at the couple who were both sitting wide eyed and open mouthed. "But, you know, hotel, a couple of nice dinners…"

"Cole…" Piper turned to him, eyes sparking, having regained the use of her voice, "…I can't believe you did this."

"Am I missing something here?" Paige asked, "Aren't you unemployed? How did you afford this?"

"Uh, uh, uh that's tomorrow's surprise," Cole silenced her. "For tonight another toast." He raised his glass. "To Leo and to Piper, a lifetime of happiness."

"Wow." Faith nodded her head, placing her glass back on the table. "I must say I am impressed, Uncle Cole." She smirked at him/ "That was kind of sweet."

"Are you kidding me!" Phoebe chuckled smiling at her husband. "Could you be any sweeter right now?" she asked and he nodded.

"Well..." Cole stood back up going into his coat again and pulled out another envelope handing it to Faith, who jerked back in surprise before taking it slowly.

"What's this?" Faith asked with narrowed eyes.

Cole sat back down slowly and shrugged again. "If I remember correctly, you two didn't get a honeymoon either."

Faith's eyes narrowed further but she smiled slowly, "No... we didn't," she confirmed pulling out the contents of the envelope, she looked over at Cole in confusion. "Spain?"

Buffy's eyebrows rose and she took the brochure from Faith. "Mandarin Oriental Ritz," she said whistling loudly as she noticed the price of a room on the brochure. "That has to be the most expensive hotel in Madrid."

Cole smiled at them. "It's my last resort," he answered cryptically and everyone frowned. "I know what Prue asked you two to do before she died," he informed them." So, I thought this might be something we could broker a truce on."

Faith shook her head slowly. "Why did you do this?" she asked him seriously.

"Well…" Cole kissed Phoebe's hand quickly, "…I've been informed that your father lives there now, Buffy. I thought this might be a good chance for you to tell him your married, tell him about the baby and about magic."

Buffy looked toward her fellow Whitelighter and uncle by marriage. "Leo, can we? I mean he is mortal."

"If you intend for him to be in Prudence's life, then it might not be a bad idea to tell him the truth about everything," Leo admitted.

Cole nodded in agreement. "This way I figured you could get your honeymoon and see your father. Win, win."

Buffy rose to her feet and Cole followed suit. "Thanks," she said gratefully hugging him.

"It was my pleasure," Cole replied patting her back. "I didn't get you plane tickets, figured you could flame there."

Faith pushed herself up, "I still can't believe you did this," she stated bluntly. "My mind can't comprehend it."

"It is surprising isn't it," Willow informed her cousin who nodded.

"I'm full of surprises." Cole quipped with a smile, rising to meet her stance and Phoebe placed a hand to her heart. "And talking about surprises." He pulled a small bag out of his other pocket and hand it to Faith. "I called some of the best doctors in the country. They say those herbs will help with your nausea."

Faith took the bag and looked at it and then at Cole and smiled. "Thank you, Uncle Cole," she said sincerely, looking him in the eyes, "You have no idea how much this means to us."

Cole smiled at her, "Yeah I do, it's written on your face," he pointed for emphasis.

Faith bit her lip thoughtfully then took a breath and leaned up wrapping her arms around Cole's neck in a friendly hug.

Cole's eyes widened and he froze momentarily at the contact before hugging her back.

Phoebe audibly gasped at the sight, looking over to Piper, who was watching the exchange with wide eyes. She grinned and could honestly say that in that moment she could have cried, almost did as her eyes welled up and she blinked them away.

"One last thing," Cole said as he turned to the newest member of the Halliwell family. "Willow," he said as he handed her an envelope.

Willow's heart raced with surprise as she accepted the envelope from him. Her eyes met his with a mixture of gratitude and disbelief. "Really?" she said, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Really," Cole replied, his tone gentle and reassuring. "After all, you are Piper's daughter. I thought you might like to meet them down there for a day or two before you and they return."

Willow carefully opened the envelope, her fingers trembling with excitement. Her eyes widened in awe as she saw what was inside. Two tickets for Princess Cruise Lines from San Francisco to Hawaii, a dream destination. She slowly passed the envelope over to Piper, who looked at the tickets with wide eyes, her emotions mirrored in her daughter's face.

"Wow," Piper breathed, her voice filled with wonder and gratitude.

"You're welcome, Piper," Cole said, his voice warm and full of affection. "This way gives you time for your honeymoon and a chance to have time with Willow when she arrives on the cruise ship." His gaze shifted through the bustling crowd, landing on the Seer, who was fixated on him. In that moment, shock surged through him like an electric jolt, and he coughed, nearly choking on his beer.

Phoebe's concern was immediate. She rubbed his back gently, worry etched on her face. "You okay?" she asked with genuine concern, her voice laced with tenderness. "Baby, you okay?"

Cole nodded, still recovering from the surprise encounter. "Excuse me," he managed to say, his voice slightly strained. "I'm fine, I'm fine. Excuse me, I'll be right back."

As Cole hurried away, leaving the curious Halliwell sisters behind, Paige couldn't help but express her curiosity. "Wow! So… you think Cole won the lottery or something?" she asked, her voice tinged with amusement.

Phoebe's eyes sparkled mischievously as she grinned. "Mmmm, I know I did." Then, she turned her attention to Faith, beckoning her closer and pulling her niece into a warm, affectionate hug. "So, um… sexy mamma…" Phoebe winked playfully, "…were my eyes deceiving me, or did you just, uh… hug Cole?"

Faith groaned audibly, rolling her eyes in a mixture of embarrassment and amusement. "Urgh, I blame it on the hormones," she admitted, her tone filled with humor. Buffy, joining in the laughter, pulled Faith closer into her loving embrace, creating a heartwarming family moment amidst the bustling crowd.

Underworld

Cole burst into the Seer's chamber, his anger and frustration simmering beneath the surface as he strode purposefully towards her. "I was with the entire family, have you lost your mind?" His voice trembled with a mix of exasperation and concern.

The Seer lowered her head in a gesture of apology, her eyes meeting his as she stood beside the smoking cauldron. "Forgive me," she said, her tone carrying a weight of urgency. "But it was imperative that I have you here now if my ritual is to take effect."

Cole clenched his jaw, trying to balance his responsibilities as a husband, an uncle, and a brother-in-law with this unexpected demand. He spoke slowly, frustration evident in his voice. "I am trying to be the perfect husband, the perfect uncle, the perfect brother-in-law. It would help if I didn't have demons waving at me from the dance floor."

The Seer's expression grew serious, her dedication to her mission unwavering. "If my fertility ritual fails, the show's over anyway," she retorted firmly. "Tomorrow's harvest moon will be your one chance to impregnate your wife." She reached for a blue bottle; her movements deliberate. "The power of the moon combined with this tonic will make her fertile to demon seed and override any preventative measures she's taken." Pouring the contents of the bottle into the cauldron, she continued, "Her favorite sweet?"

"Chocolate," Cole answered without hesitation, a flicker of affection for his wife briefly softening his features. The Seer raised an eyebrow at him, a silent acknowledgment of the complexities of their situation.

"Then I'll mix it with the chocolate," the Seer conceded, her voice unwavering in its determination. "You must feed it to her in the morning." She added something else, her words carrying a sinister edge. "Then finish the job when the moon is high in the night sky. And if you succeed, the evil spawn growing inside her will influence her own evil leanings." Her gaze bore into Cole's, unflinching. "So that when she does discover the truth, she will bend to your will."

Cole tilted his head defiantly, his eyes filled with unwavering love and determination. "She will bend to her love for me."

The Seer's smile remained unsettling as she produced an athame seemingly out of thin air, her movements deliberate and calculated as she approached him. Cole's muscles tensed, but he held up a hand, a silent request for her to explain herself. She bowed her head, her eyes fixed on him. "For the tonic," she clarified.

Cole nodded, accepting her explanation, and extended his hand toward her. He allowed her to take it, and with a swift, practiced motion, she slit his palm open. Cole winced slightly as the cut stung, but he approached the cauldron without hesitation, letting his blood drip into it. The vivid red droplets contrasted sharply with the white skull at the bottom of the cauldron, creating an eerie sight. He cast a brief glance at the Seer as he did so. "What about Faith? Has her future changed?"

The Seer's eyes clouded over as she delved into a premonition of Faith's future, her expression growing more somber. "Her future is still wavering between good and evil," she said, her voice filled with a sense of foreboding. "But I see it now leaning closer to evil. Once she takes the herbs, her future will become set." Her words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of destiny, as she continued to work her dark magic.

February 25, 2002 – Monday

Halliwell Manor

The two youngest Halliwell sisters found themselves in the same bathroom, a scene of chaos and camaraderie as they attempted to do their makeup and fix their hair simultaneously. It was a delicate dance of stealing each other's products and offering unsolicited beauty advice.

Phoebe held up a blush, her eyes wide with curiosity as she asked, "Can I try this?" She waved the blush in front of Paige's mirror.

Paige, in the midst of applying her lipstick, glanced over and nodded with a grin. "Yeah, sure, go for it." She trusted Phoebe's makeup expertise.

Just as they were engrossed in their beauty routines, Piper shuffled into the bathroom, her hair in disarray, clearly in distress. "My hair clip broke," she whined, holding her unruly locks up with her hands.

Paige, always the problem solver, didn't miss a beat. "Try one of mine," she instructed, making space for Piper to access the drawer where she kept her hair accessories.

"Oh!" Phoebe cried out happily, her face lighting up as she admired her skin in the mirror. "Glowy," she remarked with a pleased smile.

Piper, ever the practical one, couldn't help but tease her sister. "Yeah, like you need more glow," she quipped, her tone affectionate. Phoebe responded with a playful giggle, the bond between them evident in their lighthearted banter.

"Comin' through." Buffy warned with a friendly smile as she entered the bathroom, heading straight for the countertop. Her voice carried a note of urgency as she explained her predicament, "I've lost my eyelash curler," she informed them, scanning the top of the counter. "Anyone seen it?"

Piper, always the observant one, glanced up quickly, having spotted the eyelash curler earlier. She held it out to Buffy with a knowing smile, and Buffy sighed in relief. "Oh, thank you!" she gushed, nudging Paige over a little to make space for herself.

The bustling bathroom was filled with chatter and shared beauty products, creating a lively atmosphere. Phoebe, in her usual playful fashion, added her thoughts to the mix. "Isn't it weird how sex can replace sleep?" she pondered with a mischievous giggle as she moved to the other side of Paige, making room for Buffy. "I wonder if they've done any studies on that."

Faith, leaning against the bathroom doorway, couldn't resist joining in on the conversation. Her voice was dry as she quipped, "If they have..." She pointed to herself, a smirk playing on her lips. "...you'll probably find that, in most cases, it ends in pregnancy."

Phoebe laughed heartily, her hand reaching around Paige to gently rub her niece's stomach. "Aww, I can't wait till you have a bump!" she gushed with genuine excitement, keeping her hand on Faith's belly, a symbol of the ever-expanding Halliwell family.

Piper chuckled warmly, her eyes dancing with mischief as she teased her niece. "I can't wait till she starts kicking, and we can all feel it," she said, her smile filled with anticipation.

Faith, never one to hold back her thoughts, voiced her concerns about the potential Slayer abilities being passed down. "I just hope she doesn't inherit mine and Buffy's Slayer abilities," she remarked with a hint of humor. "I would hate to have her sending Slayer-enhanced kicks to the inside of my stomach."

Buffy, finishing off her mascara, expressed her own hopes and concerns. "The only thing I 'can't wait for' is the end of Faith's morning sickness," she said with a wry grin. "Let's hope Cole's herbs work, kay?"

Faith enthusiastically agreed, eager to steer the conversation in a different direction. "Couldn't agree more, babe," she replied. "Can we go back to talking about sex, please?"

Paige, ever ready to share her experiences, nodded in agreement as she touched up her lipstick. "Love to," she chimed in, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "I remember Dave, my ex-boyfriend."

Phoebe, now tending to Piper's hair as she applied lip gloss, took a moment to reflect on the topic. "Oh no, it's different with boyfriends," she interjected with a thoughtful expression. "I don't know why, but once you're married, it's just..." She shrugged, searching for the right words. "It's just better. You know what I mean?" She directed the question to her married sister and married niece, seeking their validation and understanding of the unique bond that marriage brought to their intimate lives.

"Commitment, it's incredibly sexy," Piper agreed wholeheartedly, nodding as she handed Buffy the lip gloss she had just used. She couldn't help but smile, knowing the depth of love and connection that marriage had brought to her own life.

Phoebe chimed in, her laughter bubbling up. "Yeah," she giggled, "It's more intimate or something." Her words carried a sense of wonder, as if she was still discovering the magic of marriage with every passing day.

Piper, however, seemed unsatisfied with her hair and decided to take matters into her own hands, removing the clip to redo it herself, her frown mirroring her determination to look perfect.

Buffy countered Phoebe's sentiment with a smirk. She screwed the lip gloss closed and leaned in closer to Paige, her tone playful. "Oh please," she teased, bumping hips with Faith and sharing a knowing look. "You two think everything's different once you're married," she quipped, her confidence unwavering. "Sex is sex: it's good or it's not, simple as that." Buffy shrugged casually, her demeanor exuding self-assuredness. "The more you do it, the better it gets, which is why Faith and I are so incredible." She winked at Faith, a playful sparkle in her eyes.

Paige gasped dramatically; her eyes wide as she gawked at Buffy through the mirror. Buffy's devilish smirk only added to the amusement in the room. "You are terrible," Piper scolded lightly, her eyes filled with playful teasing as she shook her head.

Phoebe, always the fashionista of the group, moved away briefly to reach for a choker, then returned to the mirror with a playful smile aimed at her older sister and her nieces. "You three are going on your honeymoons tonight," she reminded them in a sing-song voice, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "I think new lingerie is in order."

Piper turned to her with a knowing look. "You always think new lingerie is in order," she teased, a hint of laughter in her voice.

Buffy, never one to resist a chance to join in on the fun, chimed in with a smirk, high-fiving Phoebe. "A belief I wholeheartedly agree with," she declared, her tone light-hearted.

Faith, on the other hand, seemed to take a more practical stance, glancing at Buffy with an amused expression. She was well aware of her wife's penchant for shopping. "But it's not for me anyway, it's for you three," Phoebe clarified with a wink.

Phoebe extended an invitation to Paige, who sighed in response. "I have to go to that evil place where they keep my paycheck," Paige lamented, her tone lighthearted but with a hint of resignation.

U.C. Sunnydale

Willow hesitated outside Tara's dorm room, her heart racing with a mix of excitement and nervousness. With a soft knock, she announced her presence before gently pushing the door open.

Inside, Tara was seated at her desk, her attention focused on a textbook. Willow couldn't help but admire the way the soft afternoon light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow on Tara's blonde hair. Her heart swelled with affection as she watched Tara, her love and admiration for her growing stronger with each passing day.

Tara looked up from her book, her face lighting up with a radiant smile as she saw Willow. "Hey, you," she greeted warmly.

"Hey," Willow replied, her voice soft and filled with affection. She moved closer, crossing the room to stand in front of Tara, her gaze locked onto those beautiful blue eyes.

Tara closed her textbook and set it aside, giving Willow her full attention. "What brings you by?" she asked curiously.

Willow took a deep breath, her nerves momentarily getting the better of her. But she pushed through. "Tara," she began, her voice trembling ever so slightly. "I have something to ask you."

Tara tilted her head, her curiosity growing. "What is it, Willow?"

With a nervous smile, Willow reached into her bag and pulled out the envelope. She handed it to Tara, who accepted it with a puzzled look.

Tara opened the envelope and her eyes widened as she saw the contents – two tickets for Princess Cruise Lines from San Francisco to Hawaii. Her gaze shot up to meet Willow's, her heart racing. "Willow, what is this?"

Willow took a deep breath, her eyes filled with emotion. "Uncle Cole got those for me," she began, her voice trembling with excitement. "And when I saw those, I instantly thought of you. It would mean meeting Piper and Leo, who will be on their honeymoon in Hawaii, but…"

Tara's eyes glistened with tears of joy as she realized what Willow was asking. She reached out to clasp Willow's hand; her voice filled with emotion. "Are you asking me to go on a cruise with you?"

Willow nodded, her smile radiant. "Yes, Tara. I want us to go on this cruise together."

Tara couldn't contain her happiness any longer. She pulled Willow into a tight embrace, her heart overflowing with love. "Yes, Willow, a thousand times yes. I would love to go on a cruise with you."

Willow hugged Tara tightly. For the first time since Oz had left she felt a profound sense of joy and contentment wash over her.

Halliwell Manor

As Cole's loud honk echoed outside the house, the three sisters, Faith, Buffy, and Leo, made their way down the steps to meet him. Their faces were a mix of curiosity and excitement as they wondered what the surprise could be.

"SURPRISE!" Cole exclaimed, holding out his arms with a broad grin.

Leo couldn't hide his own delighted smile. "A new car," he observed, his eyes twinkling with appreciation.

Piper's eyes widened as she took in the sight of the sleek vehicle parked in front of their home. "Where did you get that?" she asked, her surprise evident in her voice.

Cole, enjoying the intrigue he had created, answered with a touch of mystery, "It came with the job," he replied casually, dropping his arms.

Paige couldn't resist teasing him, a playful smirk forming on her lips. "Oh, are you a valet-parker?" she quipped, her tone lighthearted.

Cole couldn't help but smirk in return, his amusement evident. "Attorney, thank you very much," he retorted with pride as he strolled around the car to join them. "It's a company car."

But Cole had more in store. He reached into the passenger seat of the car and produced a large bouquet of flowers, the vibrant colors contrasting beautifully with the sleek car. With a flourish, he presented them to Phoebe, his eyes filled with affection and adoration.

"Are you serious?" Phoebe questioned, her eyes wide with amazement as she glanced from the sleek car to the bouquet of flowers and then to Cole in his impeccable suit.

Paige, ever the pragmatic one, couldn't help but express her skepticism with a sigh. "That's strange," she observed, her tone laced with doubt. "You didn't last two hours at Legal Aid."

Faith, who remembered well how much Cole had despised his previous job, chimed in with a nod of agreement. "Yeah, you hated it actually, hated being a lawyer."

Cole gritted his teeth, feeling the pressure of their scrutiny. He knew they were right but still tried to justify his decision. "Yeah... but that job was high-stress and paid nothing," he pointed out, attempting to explain his change in career direction.

Leo, always quick with a witty remark, filled in with a playful tone. "Comes with a Porsche," he said, a knowing grin on his face.

"Right." Cole agreed not having anything else to say instead.

Phoebe held the bouquet of flowers to her face, inhaling their fragrance deeply, a small smile playing on her lips as she enjoyed the scent. Meanwhile, Paige continued to stare at Cole with a suspicious expression, clearly not fully convinced by his sudden change.

Cole, sensing the tension, looked to Faith, Buffy, and Piper for some guidance, his eyes seeking reassurance from his family. "How come she's not smiling?" he asked, puzzled by Phoebe's subdued reaction.

Leo, always one to appreciate the technical details, couldn't resist the allure of the new car. He approached it with admiration, his voice filled with enthusiasm. "Is this the uh... Tiptronic?" he inquired; his attention momentarily diverted.

Cole shook his head, uninterested in the car's technical details, and turned back to Phoebe, his confusion evident. "I thought you'd be happy," he admitted, his tone tinged with disappointment.

Phoebe, ever the supportive partner, simply shrugged and offered a warm smile. "Cole, if you're happy, I'm happy," she assured him, her love for him evident in her gaze.

Faith, with her usual wit and playfulness, couldn't resist chiming in. "Ooh no, that's wrong," she teased, her tone lighthearted. "It's supposed to be if you're happy, your partner's happy. Right, babe?" Faith asked, tilting her head back to look at Buffy, her expression sweet and affectionate.

Buffy, not one to miss an opportunity for affection, agreed with a smile. She snaked her arm around Faith's waist and leaned in for a loving kiss, sealing their shared happiness in that moment.

Cole turned back to the car, scooping up a box, "I got your favorite chocolates." He opened the lid elaborately, "And I reserved the honeymoon suite at The Mark."

Phoebe's face lit up with excitement as the idea of a honeymoon sank in. "A honeymoon?" she echoed; her voice filled with anticipation as she tried to contain her joy.

Cole smiled at her, his eyes filled with affection. "Just for tonight. What do ya say?" he asked, eager to share this special experience with Phoebe.

Phoebe couldn't help but tease him, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively as she turned to Buffy. "Ooh, I say I need to do a little bit of shopping first," she replied with a playful grin. It was clear what kind of shopping she had in mind – lingerie.

Buffy, always up for an adventure, didn't hesitate to agree. "I am so in," she assured Phoebe.

Phoebe smirked at their shared excitement. "What do you two say, Piper? Faith?" she asked, turning to her other sister and niece to see if they would join in on the fun.

Piper, however, had other commitments. "Uh... Rebekah Ryan's playing at the club tonight, so I got to go set up," she explained to her sister, a touch of regret in her voice.

Leo, ever the supportive husband, offered a helping hand with a loving smile. "I'll cover for ya," he reassured Piper, his tone affectionate. "Got to do something. Cole's makin' me look bad," he added with a playful wink, lightening the mood with his humor.

Phoebe, her attention now on her niece, turned to Faith with a hopeful expression. "What about you, Faith?" she inquired, wanting to include her in the plans.

Faith hesitated for a moment, considering the logistics of surprising Buffy later. "Doesn't me going with Buffy kind of defeat the purpose of surprising her later?" she pointed out, her logic sound.

Buffy, always quick to find a solution, offered an alternative plan. "Well, I can flame to Sunnydale and get Willow and Tara to go with me," she suggested, her eyes glinting with the excitement of the idea. It was a way for Faith to join her aunts on their shopping trip, and they could all enjoy some quality time together.

Faith couldn't resist the offer, and she leaned in to kiss Buffy, sealing their agreement. "Okay," she agreed with a smile.

Cole, ever the charmer, attempted to tempt Phoebe with chocolates, pushing the treats under her nose as he leaned in closer. "So, chocolates?" he enticed, his voice laced with temptation. "Are you sure you don't want one? They smell pretty good."

"Mmm," Phoebe inhaled deeply, her heart swelling with a mixture of emotions, and then she looked at his face, her eyes filled with a hint of playful suspicion. "Maybe you are evil." She kissed him softly, her lips brushing against his with a tender smile that spoke of her deep affection. "I love you," she said quietly, her voice carrying the weight of her feelings, before turning and walking to the car with Piper and Faith, her steps exuding a sense of contentment. Buffy retreated into the house in preparation for flaming to Sunnydale.

Cole stood up straight, his brow furrowing as he frowned at the chocolate, his thoughts swirling with a touch of disappointment, and he slid the lid back on with a sense of finality.

"So what law firm are you working for?" Paige asked casually, her tone suggesting curiosity tinged with a touch of suspicion, one hand resting confidently on her hip.

"Are you familiar with the San Francisco law firms?" he replied conversationally, his voice carrying an air of mystery.

Paige nodded, her gaze locked onto his, a glimmer of recognition dancing in her eyes. "Yeah, I deal with them from time to time."

"Jackman, Carter and Kline?" Cole elaborated further; his words laced with a hint of intrigue.

Paige shrugged, shaking her head, her expression a mix of confusion and curiosity. "Haven't heard of 'em," she said with a touch of nonchalance as Cole nodded, his face a mask of neutrality. "Well, I better get to work," she stated, breaking the tense silence that hung in the air, her words carrying a sense of resolve. "Congratulations." She nodded to him, a polite smile gracing her lips as she exchanged a knowing glance with Leo before heading to her car.

"Thanks," Cole called after her, his voice carrying a note of gratitude, and then he turned to Leo, who was hovering by the car. He smiled, a genuine warmth in his eyes, as he held out the keys to Leo and nodded in silent acknowledgment of their unspoken connection.

Buffy's sudden appearance in a swirl of fiery flames caught Willow and Tara by surprise, their eyes widening as she materialized in Willow's dorm room. "Hey, guys," Buffy greeted them with a grin.

"Hi, Buffy," Tara said, quickly getting up from the bed to greet her cousin with a warm hug.

Willow's smile brightened as she welcomed her friend. "Hey! What brings you to Sunnydale?" she asked as she and Tara exchanged curious glances, wondering what could have prompted Buffy's impromptu visit.

"Lingerie," Buffy answered, her voice filled with determination. "Faith went with Piper and Phoebe to buy lingerie for our honeymoon. I'm here to ask if you two will go with me so I can get some lingerie to surprise Faith with."

Willow and Tara exchanged delighted looks, their expressions a mix of amusement and excitement. Willow playfully nudged Tara's shoulder. "Looks like we're in for a lingerie shopping adventure!"

Tara chuckled, her eyes gleaming with enthusiasm. "Absolutely, Buffy. We'd love to help you pick out something special."

Buffy's cheeks turned a shade of pink, but she smiled gratefully at her cousin and best friend. "Thanks, you guys. You're the best!"

Silk Seduction

"Okay," Phoebe asked, her voice filled with anticipation as she exited the dressing room, gliding gracefully in a floor-length lilac nightdress with a tantalizing see-through pattern along the sides. Her presence was captivating, drawing all attention to her.

"Wow!" a man's voice exclaimed from behind Piper, who turned around to face a couple.

"Hey!" his girlfriend cried, her hand connecting with a playful slap against his chest.

Piper turned back to face Phoebe; her expression thoughtful. "I think... he liked it," she said, her eyes twinkling mischievously, "and I think she didn't." Piper's assessment was accompanied by a knowing smirk.

Phoebe nodded, a hint of curiosity in her eyes as she motioned to the garment. "Yeah, but what is it saying?" she asked, her voice tinged with intrigue. "Because I'm going for that kind of… we're-married-but-we're-not-dead look."

Piper couldn't help but chuckle, her laughter a melodic sound in the dressing room. "I think it's more of an... I'm-gonna-wear-this-one-night-and-spend-the-next-six-months-paying-it-off kind of look," she countered with a sly grin, her words laced with humor.

"I think it's a get-your-ass-in-here-and-lace-up-your-niece look," Faith's voice resonated from the dressing room next to Phoebe's, her tone confident and playful.

Piper's eyes widened in surprise; her curiosity piqued. "Lace up?" she repeated, her voice carrying a mix of intrigue and amusement, and Phoebe nodded, her expression mischievous.

"Yup," Phoebe confirmed with a devilish grin. "You really need to go lingerie shopping with Faith more often..." She paused for a moment, then wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. "She's kind of kinky."

Piper gawked, her cheeks flushing with a mix of embarrassment and surprise, as Phoebe disappeared behind the curtain to assist their niece.

"Well?" Faith questioned as she emerged from the dressing room.

Faith was clad in a stunning black silk corset that was the centerpiece of her ensemble.

The corset was a work of art, intricately designed with exquisite attention to detail. Made from sumptuous black silk, it hugged her figure like a second skin, accentuating her curves in all the right places. The corset was adorned with intricate lace overlays, adding a touch of vintage elegance to its sultry appeal. Its boning provided structure and support, creating an hourglass silhouette that emphasized Faith's natural beauty.

Matching black panties completed the ensemble, crafted from the same luxurious silk and lace as the corset. The panties were cut in a cheeky style, leaving just enough to the imagination while showcasing her toned legs and shapely derrière.

Piper gasped, her hand instinctively moving to cover her mouth as she stared at Faith in awe. She couldn't help but appreciate the breathtaking sight before her. Her eyes briefly flickered to the guy who had been ogling Phoebe earlier, and she noticed that he was once again captivated by their presence.

"Well, I think we can all guess his opinion," Piper quipped, her voice tinged with humor, her gaze never leaving Faith's alluring figure.

Faith smirked, her confidence unshaken, as she looked down at herself critically. Phoebe couldn't help but be awestruck by her niece's appearance. "Wow!" Phoebe cried out, her hand instinctively reaching out to cover Faith's chest. "Your breasts are huge!"

"I told you," Faith insisted with a smirk, her tone playful. "At the wedding, I told you. In fact, you told me."

Phoebe nodded; her eyes fixed on Faith's ample assets. "Yeah," she agreed, removing her hands to get a better look. "Yup, they're definitely bigger, right?" She turned to Piper for confirmation, who nodded slowly.

"Oh yeah," Piper concurred, her eyes wide as she took in the sight.

"I'm not surprised," Faith shrugged nonchalantly, her expression filled with a mix of nonchalance and anticipation, "None of my bras fit me anymore."

Piper's eyes bulged in astonishment as she realized the implications. "Already?" The rapid change in Faith's body was expected due to her pregnancy, but it still took them by surprise.

Faith nodded vigorously, her voice carrying a sense of hope. "Oh yeah, but I'm hoping that this is it, ya know, that they'll just... stay this size."

Phoebe chimed in with practical advice, her head jerking towards the saleswomen floating around. "You should get measured to see what size you need now."

Faith's attention, however, shifted back to Phoebe. She appraised her aunt from head to toe with a playful glint in her eyes. "Anyway," Faith waved a hand dismissively, "I think you should ignore little miss sensible over there and buy that, Aunt Phoebe."

Phoebe's face lit up with hope and excitement. "Really?" she asked eagerly, seeking affirmation, and Faith nodded, her approval unwavering. She couldn't help but shake her head and sigh as she headed back to her changing room. "Oh, but I can't," she muttered to herself, torn between desire and practicality.

"Well..." Piper tilted her head in thought, her eyes scanning the lingerie selections. "You could probably afford anything you want now that Cole's gone corporate." She reasoned, leaning towards the same choice as her sister, her voice carrying a hint of practicality.

Phoebe sighed, her fingers gripping the curtain as she considered her options. "Yeah, well, I'm not gonna rely on that," she informed Piper and Faith firmly, her voice filled with determination. Her sisters nodded their heads in agreement, sharing a collective sense of relief.

Faith, who had been patiently waiting for her turn, pointed to the back of her corset.

"And I'm not gonna just sit at home while my husband works either, you know," Phoebe continued to voice her thoughts from behind the curtain.

"Maybe in like, ten years from now when I have kids, you know, but not now." Phoebe insisted, her resolve unwavering. She had her sights set on carving out her own path in life, and she wasn't about to let anything deter her.

Piper, ever the inquisitive one, couldn't resist a playful jab. "Ooh, hit a nerve?" she questioned, her tone filled with intrigue and amusement.

Phoebe's head appeared through the curtain; the rest of her body still concealed. "I just think it's time I got a job too, you know," she explained, her voice carrying a sense of purpose and ambition.

Faith, always eager to support her family, chimed in enthusiastically from her own dressing room. "Good for you, Aunt Phoebe!" Her head appeared, a wide smile on her face as she looked at Phoebe with admiration.

Phoebe couldn't help but laugh at her niece's encouragement, shaking her head in fondness. She slipped back behind the curtain, and Faith followed suit.

"Since we all know Faith's feelings on the subject... what do you think, Piper?" Phoebe called through the closed curtain, seeking her sister's input.

Piper took a moment to ponder, her fingers idly tracing the lace on a nearby mannequin. "I think you and I being so... charming, as we are, is kind of a full-time job," she shared subtly, her tone hinting at the complexities of their lives.

Phoebe couldn't help but smirk at Piper's comment. "Yeah, it just happens to come with a death threat in lieu of a paycheck," she fired back, her words tinged with sarcasm.

Piper nodded in agreement. "Right. So if Cole is bringing, ya know, a few extra bucks into the household, why not enjoy it?"

Phoebe emerged from the dressing room, fully clothed once more, her expression thoughtful. "Because, Piper," she answered as she handed over Piper's coat and purse, "It's not about that. I have a degree in psychology that I worked really hard for, and I would like to be able to use it in a non-magical way."

Faith, who had been quietly listening, chimed in with her support as she pulled back the curtain, also fully clothed. "And so, you should, Aunt Phoebe," she affirmed, her voice filled with encouragement. She joined them at the cash register, her presence a reminder of the importance of pursuing one's passions and aspirations, even in the midst of their magical and often chaotic lives.

"I'll take these, please." Faith offered a warm smile to the cashier, who nodded and began ringing up the bill, her fingers dancing over the register keys.

"You're buying that?" Piper asked, a frown creasing her forehead as she looked at the expensive lingerie. "It's insanely expensive."

Faith shrugged nonchalantly; her confidence unwavering. "So?" She tilted her head slightly. "It will make Buffy insanely happy. Plus, I do have a trust fund from mom, remember?" She explained with a playful smile, then her expression turned serious.

The cashier completed the transaction, handing Faith back her card and sliding the bag towards her with a knowing smirk. "Your husband's a lucky man," she commented with a raised eyebrow, her assumptions clearly misplaced.

Faith corrected her with a patient smile, "Wife. I'm gay."

The cashier immediately looked apologetic, realizing her mistake. "My apologies," she said with a respectful nod, understanding that she had made an incorrect assumption.

As the conversation with the cashier concluded, Piper, Phoebe, and Faith suddenly heard screeching tires from outside the shop, their heads turning in unison toward the source of the commotion. "Speaking of helping people..." Piper mused with a thoughtful expression as they swiftly made their way outside.

Once they reached the bustling San Francisco street, they spotted a clearly dazed and confused woman wandering amidst the busy traffic. Panic bubbled within them as they realized the danger she was in.

The woman stumbled to a stop, right in front of an oncoming taxi, which immediately slammed on the brakes. Piper reacted quickly, throwing up her hands to freeze the scene, creating a surreal tableau of suspended motion. Phoebe wasted no time, racing towards the woman. Faith stood where she was ready to act if Piper's freeze wore off before Phoebe reached her.

Phoebe reached the woman just in time, knocking her out of the taxi's path, and they hit the ground together, just as the taxi unfroze, its tires screeching to a halt inches from where they had been.

Piper and Faith quickly glanced around, ensuring that no one had witnessed their extraordinary intervention. They then raced across the street to Phoebe and the woman, their voices loud to distract any potential onlookers.

"Good thing that car had brakes, huh?" Piper exclaimed with a forced cheerfulness as she pulled the woman to her feet, Faith assisting Phoebe to get to her feet. "You would have been roadkill," she continued, her tone filled with a mix of concern and relief.

"Totally," Faith agreed loudly, matching Piper's tone as they tried to downplay the unusual circumstances, their collective secret safe for now.

"Are you okay?" Phoebe asked the woman gently, her concern evident in her eyes.

The woman looked up with pleading eyes. "Can, can you help me get to work?" she implored. "I won't meet my deadline. I've got to get to work."

Phoebe nodded with a warm smile, her willingness to assist evident. "Alright," she agreed, reaching out to take the woman's arm, ready to guide her to safety. However, as she made contact, she was suddenly pulled into a vision.

In the vision, Phoebe saw the woman walking down a dimly lit alley, entirely alone. Two menacing demons came rushing around the corner, their malicious intent clear. The demon at the front threw a glowing white ball at the woman, and it engulfed her in blinding light.

Piper and Faith rushed to Phoebe's side as she opened her eyes, her expression grave. She tilted her head toward her sister and niece, conveying the dire situation. "Innocent," Phoebe stated firmly, her voice filled with resolve.

"Of course," Piper responded with a sigh, moving back around to the other side of the woman.

Satin & Lace Boudoir

Buffy, Willow, and Tara had made their way to the lingerie store, their excitement palpable as they entered the boutique. The store was adorned with delicate lace, satin, and silk, and the air was filled with a sweet, fragrant scent that added to the ambiance.

Buffy's cheeks were flushed with a mix of anticipation and a hint of nervousness. She had never embarked on a lingerie shopping adventure quite like this before, and she was grateful to have Willow and Tara as her trusted companions.

Willow couldn't contain her enthusiasm as she darted from one rack to another, her fingers lightly grazing the intricate designs of the lingerie sets. "Oh, Buffy, look at this one! It's so elegant!" she exclaimed, holding up a piece adorned with intricate lacework.

Tara joined in the excitement, her eyes scanning the array of colors and styles. "And this one has a beautiful floral pattern. It's romantic and sexy at the same time."

Buffy chuckled, feeling more at ease with her friends' support. "Okay, let's start with something not too daring. I want to ease into this."

They began selecting various pieces, each offering their opinions and recommendations. Some were sweet and innocent, while others were sultrier and more daring. Buffy appreciated their guidance, and with their help, she gradually built up her confidence to explore a wider range of options.

As Buffy tried on different sets in the fitting room, Willow and Tara waited outside, offering words of encouragement and honest feedback. "You look amazing in that one, Buffy," Willow called out, her voice filled with genuine admiration.

Tara nodded in agreement. "It enhances your natural beauty, Buffy."

Buffy couldn't help but smile as she examined herself in the mirror. She felt a sense of empowerment and self-assuredness she hadn't experienced before. The lingerie had a magical way of making her feel both alluring and confident.

After trying on several pieces, Buffy finally settled on a set that struck the perfect balance between sweet and sensual. The bra was crafted from delicate lace in a soft, ivory shade. Its intricate patterns added a touch of sophistication, while the underwire provided just the right amount of support to enhance her natural curves. The bra's straps were adorned with dainty satin bows, adding a playful contrast to the overall elegance.

Matching panties completed the set, featuring the same lace design that adorned the bra. The panties hugged her hips comfortably and left just enough to the imagination, with a tiny satin bow adorning the front.

To complete the look, Buffy had chosen a garter belt made of the same lace, adorned with delicate satin ribbons. She had slipped on sheer stockings, attaching them to the garter belt, creating a tantalizing and classic finishing touch.

The ivory lingerie set complemented Buffy's complexion, enhancing her natural glow and making her feel both alluring and confident. It was the perfect choice to ignite the passion on their honeymoon and make it a truly memorable night for her and Faith.

As they left the store with Buffy's purchases neatly packaged, the trio couldn't contain their laughter and joy. Buffy felt a deep sense of gratitude for her friend and her cousin who had turned what could have been an intimidating experience into a fun and empowering adventure.

"Thank you, guys," Buffy said sincerely as they walked back to their car. "I couldn't have done this without you."

Willow wrapped an arm around her friend. "Anytime, Buffy. We're always here to support you."

Tara added with a warm smile, "And remember, confidence is the key. You're going to blow Faith away with your surprise!"

Buffy grinned, her heart full of appreciation for her friends. With her newfound confidence and the perfect lingerie in hand, she couldn't wait to embark on her honeymoon and surprise Faith with a memorable and passionate night.

South Bay Social Services

"Urgh!" Paige seethed; her frustration evident as she threw up her hands in exasperation. She stood by her desk, venting her concerns to Lila, her colleague and confidante. "I still don't trust him," she admitted, her unease palpable. "I called the firm, and apparently he's telling the truth about getting that job," she explained, her voice filled with irritation.

Lila, with a hint of amusement, interrupted Paige's rant with a mocking gasp. "Wait, he told the truth?" she exclaimed with feigned astonishment, "The rat."

"I'm telling you, Lila, there's something weird going on," Paige insisted, the uneasy feeling in her gut growing stronger. "He couldn't function in the job that I got him here. I mean, he hit a client," she reminded Lila, emphasizing her point. "And now, all of a sudden, he's Mr. Suave Lawyer Man." Paige mocked his transformation, her skepticism evident.

"People change," Lila offered a simple explanation, her tone calm and rational.

"Uh! Not that quickly, not that much," Paige argued, her determination unwavering. "There's something off about him, and I'm gonna keep an eye on him. Period."

Lila rolled her eyes, her sarcasm apparent. "Spying on the husband, now that's a sure-fire way to reconnect with your sister," she quipped, her words laced with humor and a hint of skepticism.

Paige glared at Lila; her frustration evident. "Oh, whatever! I know I'm not crazy," she asserted vehemently. "Faith and Buffy see it too," she added, her conviction unwavering. She vividly remembered the conversation she had with the couple when Buffy and Faith admitted that Prue, before she had passed away, had asked them to keep an eye on Cole.

Lila tilted her head, her curiosity piqued by this new information. "Have they talked to you about it?" she inquired, seeking more insight into the matter.

Paige hesitated for a moment before answering honestly, "Other than Faith's mom asking them to keep an eye on Cole, no, not in so many words."

"So then not at all?" Lila concluded; her tone gentle but pointed. Paige reluctantly nodded in agreement.

"Oh man," Paige muttered under her breath, a mix of frustration and concern welling up inside her. She was beginning to see that her concerns might be even more isolated than she had initially thought.

As Paige scowled at her friend, her desk phone rang, once again interrupting their conversation. She quickly picked it up, and Phoebe's voice greeted her from the other end. "Hey," Phoebe began cryptically, "We've got a... witchy-type situation that could really benefit from your area of expertise," she explained.

Paige's eyebrows furrowed with interest, shifting her focus to the new development. "Yeah, uh... I'll be right over," she confirmed, her sense of duty taking precedence.

"Great! See you there," Phoebe chirped before ending the call, leaving Paige with a sense of urgency as she prepared to join her sisters and nieces at the Manor for another supernatural challenge.

Halliwell Manor

"What do you mean she wouldn't eat it?" The Seer demanded tersely as she stood in the foyer, her impatience clear.

Cole retorted, his anger matching hers. "I mean, I thought shoving it down her throat might be a little suspicious," he replied sarcastically, frustration evident in his tone. "So… is it too late?"

The Seer, though irritated, maintained her composure. "No," she assured him, her jaw tight with determination. "The tonic is stronger the longer it has to gestate. It might still work."

"Then keep an eye out and warn me of any demons who might be planning to attack," Cole ordered her, his focus on ensuring Phoebe's safety. "I can't afford any distractions for Phoebe. What about Faith? Is there a time limit on when she eats the herbs?"

The Seer explained, "Like the chocolate, it's better the longer it has to gestate. But otherwise no, the herbs will work now or later. But the quicker she eats the herbs, the quicker she turns to evil and reclaims her destiny as your chosen heir." Her words held a sinister undertone, emphasizing the urgency of their dark plan.

Cole reacted swiftly as the door opened, his magical abilities coming to his aid. He waved his hand at the Seer, causing a transformation that turned her into a man before Phoebe could fully enter the room.

"Cole, we have to..." Phoebe trailed off in surprise as she saw the unfamiliar face in the foyer, her confusion evident.

Cole moved to stand beside the transformed Seer, placing a hand on the 'man's' shoulder as if he were an ordinary associate. "Oh uh..." he began, feigning casualness, "This is, this is Mike, my law clerk, and he was just leaving." Cole flashed a charming smile down at the disguised Seer. "Thanks, uh... you can catch me up on those cases tomorrow."

"Right. Sure," 'Mike' replied slowly, his demeanor slightly bewildered. He then turned to the sisters, maintaining his facade. "Excuse me," he said politely before heading to the door. Along the way, he paused by the mirror, his reflection confirming his disguise, and he couldn't help but roll his eyes at the transformation.

Phoebe, still perplexed by the situation, introduced Cole to their innocent. "Cole, this is Karen Young," she said, gesturing to their guest.

"Pleased to meet you," Cole replied smoothly, shaking Karen's hand with practiced charm, his deceptive act nearly flawless as he continued to hide his true intentions.

Phoebe conveyed the urgency of the situation to Cole as she spoke softly, "She uh... she needs our help." Piper and Faith led Karen to the couch, and Phoebe followed suit.

Sitting between Faith and Piper, Karen began to explain her unsettling experience, her voice trembling with fear. "I was going in early," she recounted, her distress evident. "It was still dark. I said goodbye to my husband..." She trailed off, struggling to hold back tears. "And then I don't remember anything," she cried, her fear palpable. "I don't understand what's happening to me."

Piper reached out to offer comfort, placing a reassuring hand on Karen's shoulder. "Karen, I know you're scared, but we're gonna help you, I promise," she assured her, her eyes seeking Phoebe's confirmation.

Phoebe knew that she had to act quickly. She discreetly pulled Cole away from the room. Concern was etched on his face as he glanced back at the distraught woman. "What's wrong with her?" he inquired.

"I don't know," Phoebe admitted, her voice low and filled with urgency. "I had a premonition that she was being attacked by demons, only I don't think it was a premonition. I think it already happened." She explained rapidly, the gravity of the situation sinking in. "But she was hit by some kind of light ball." Phoebe looked at Cole with regret in her eyes. "So, we... might have to postpone this evening, baby," she concluded, knowing that their personal plans would have to take a backseat to the urgent matter at hand.

"No, we can't." Cole insisted fiercely.

"Well, Cole, innocents come first," Phoebe explained, her tone reflecting her dedication to their calling, even if it meant postponing their plans.

"Of course, they do," Cole conceded, his tone softened. "I just... I just can't wait to be alone with you," he added, his longing for their time together evident in his eyes. He smiled at Phoebe, his love for her shining through. "I'll do whatever I can to help," he assured her.

Turning his attention to the open box of chocolates, Cole lifted one out and held it out to Phoebe. "Forgive me?" he asked, seeking reconciliation.

Phoebe's smile brightened as she accepted the chocolate, her eyes filled with pleasure as she savored the delectable taste. Then, without further ado, she captured his lips with her own, their kiss filled with the passion that always ignited between them.

Their intimate moment was interrupted by Buffy's arrival. She carried the bag containing her lingerie purchase and inquired about the situation. "Uh... so what's going on?" Buffy asked, her curiosity piqued. "Faith called me just as Willow, Tara, and I got back to UC Sunnydale, saying we have an innocent?"

Phoebe pulled back from the kiss, her lips still tingling from the passionate moment with Cole, and she smiled at Buffy. "Yeah, we do," she confirmed, her voice conveying the seriousness of the situation. "Karen Young, our innocent, was attacked by demons. I saw it in a premonition, though I don't think it…"

Buffy, with her own experiences, immediately understood the situation. "Your thinking you saw a vision that has already occurred," she said, confirming Phoebe's suspicions. "While my premonitions work like yours, I too, on occasion, have seen things in the past."

Phoebe nodded in agreement as she continued, "In my vision, she was hit by some kind of light ball."

"Okay, she's calmer now," Piper informed them as she and Faith approached. She turned to Cole and asked him kindly, "But why don't you hang out with her while we go check the book?"

Cole nodded, fully prepared to help with their innocent. "Absolutely," he agreed.

"Good," Piper grinned, picking up a chocolate as she passed and taking a bite.

"Uh... Piper?" Cole called sharply, catching Piper's attention as she turned to him.

"What?" Piper asked, a hint of chocolate still lingering in her mouth.

Cole hesitated for a moment, then shook his head, deciding not to voice his concerns. "Nothing," he replied with a forced smile. "It's okay."

Buffy, who had been observing Cole's behavior, furrowed her brows. "You're being weird, Cole," she commented bluntly. She picked up a chocolate herself, taking a bite, and then followed Faith, Piper, and Phoebe as they made their way up the stairs.

Piper chuckled, her thoughts returning to the enticing plans for her honeymoon. "Hmmm," she mused; her tone playful. "Suddenly I can't wait to go on my honeymoon."

Buffy added to the seductive atmosphere, her smile suggestive. "Me either," she said in a husky tone, glancing at Faith.

Phoebe joined in the lighthearted banter. "Me either. Must be the full moon," she mused with a shrug

Cole couldn't help but smile triumphantly at his wife's words, pleased with the playful banter they had shared earlier. He re-entered the room and approached Karen, his concern for her evident. "You want to tell me what happened?" he asked gently, ready to assist in any way he could.

Karen sighed heavily, clearly troubled by the events she couldn't remember. "I don't know," she admitted, her voice filled with frustration and fear.

Realizing the urgency of the situation, Cole muttered to himself, "I don't have time for this." He placed his hand above Karen's head, attempting to draw out her suppressed memories. "Who attacked you?" he probed, hoping to uncover vital information.

But Karen's reaction was unexpected. She jumped to her feet, panic in her eyes as she shouted, "Don't touch me! Don't touch me! Leave me alone! He was touching me." Her gaze remained fixed on an invisible presence.

Cole turned his head to find Paige standing there, car keys in hand, and he quickly assessed the situation. "I didn't hear you come in," he said, trying to maintain a composed facade. "What's the matter?" he asked with a smile as he walked toward her. "You look like you saw a ghost."

Paige, however, wasn't easily fooled. Her eyes were wide, and her expression was one of deep concern as she replied, "I'm not sure what I saw."

"What do you mean?" Cole questioned with a furrowed brow, feigning innocence.

Paige glanced at Karen, then back at Cole, her suspicion growing. "What were you doing to her?" she asked, her tone firm and unwavering.

Cole didn't skip a beat. He pointed to Karen, who was still visibly distressed. "Well, I was comforting her," he explained calmly. "If you haven't noticed, she's hysterical."

Paige remained cautious, unwilling to fully trust his explanation. However, before she could press further, Phoebe, Piper, Buffy, and Faith entered the room with the Book of Shadows, interrupting their conversation.

Phoebe quickly embraced Cole, expressing her gratitude for his presence. "Got it!" she announced loudly, referring to their magical resources.

"That was quick." Cole observed, smiling as Phoebe came over to hug him.

"Yeah, well, we're that good," Piper quipped with a smirk as she acknowledged Paige's arrival. "Thanks for coming."

"Uh... we have a problem," Paige announced, her gaze shifting away from Cole's, a sense of unease in her voice.

Phoebe turned her attention to Paige, curiosity evident in her expression. "Yeah?" she inquired, her excitement tempered by Paige's somber demeanor.

Paige faltered for a moment, finding it difficult to voice her concerns when she saw how happy Phoebe looked with Cole. She shook her head slightly and redirected the conversation. "I mean, what's the problem with her?" Paige asked instead, nodding toward Karen, giving Cole a brief reprieve.

Piper pointed to the open page in the Book of Shadows repeatedly, urging Paige to focus on the task at hand. Paige leaned closer to the book, studying the text. "Power brokers?" she read aloud.

"Of course," Cole muttered quietly to himself, realizing his oversight. He mentally kicked himself for not considering this earlier.

Phoebe nodded as she absorbed the information. "Apparently, the light ball thrown at Karen was a demonic ball," she explained to the group.

Cole chimed in with further details, shedding light on the brokers' tactics. "Yeah, brokers will sometimes use people to store powers until they find a buyer," he elaborated. "That way, thieves can't get to them."

Paige continued to read from the Book of Shadows, her voice tinged with sympathy as she looked at Karen. "A human being possessed of a demonic power will become confused, then frightened, paranoid, violent, and demonic and will ultimately...die if the power isn't withdrawn," she recited aloud.

Buffy reiterated her earlier concern. "I repeat... that is not good," she emphasized, her Slayer instincts urging her to take action.

Faith offered a glimmer of hope. "There is a potion to pull the power out of her," she suggested optimistically, her gaze never leaving the distressed Karen.

Cole discreetly waved his hand over his pocket, causing his pager to bleep. "It's work," he explained to Phoebe regretfully. She sighed and rested her head on his chest, understanding the importance of his responsibilities. "They probably want me to fill out more forms," he added, preparing to attend to his duties while the sisters worked on saving Karen.

Phoebe turned herself, her hands resting on Cole's chest. She offered him a reassuring smile. "Okay, baby, well you go, and we'll call you if we need you," she said, sealing her words with a sweet kiss to his lips.

Cole released Phoebe from his hold, then made a deliberate point to walk by Paige, subtly asserting his presence as he passed her. Paige, feeling the weight of his gaze, quickly looked away, acknowledging his silent message.

"I got to get out of here." Karen announced rising from the couch and drawing their attention back to her, "I have a family to take care of."

Piper offered comforting words. "Karen, your family is okay," she reassured her gently.

Karen shook her head, her anxiety still palpable. "But I have a job, I have a deadline," she insisted, her voice quivering with worry. "Elise will—she'll fire me!"

Paige stepped forward, determined to help. "It's okay," she assured Karen. "We'll talk to Elise for you, we'll tell her you're with us, we'll make it all okay."

Karen looked at Paige for a moment, her eyes filled with gratitude, and then nodded, sitting back down again.

"I'll go," Piper suggested, her voice carrying a hint of determination.

Paige, her brows furrowed with concern, shook her head gently. "No, Phoebe should go," she insisted, her voice tinged with worry. "You're the best with potions," she reminded Piper. Her eyes softened with affection as she extended her keys towards her Phoebe.

"You want some company?" Faith asked, a warm and caring smile gracing her lips. Her gaze lingered on Karen. "Buffy or I could go with you," she offered, her voice filled with genuine concern.

Phoebe debated Faith's offer, her emotions swirling like a turbulent storm. She turned her gaze toward Faith, a mixture of appreciation and concern in her eyes. "Buffy, why don't you come," she finally decided, her voice carrying a sense of determination. She then glanced over at Faith, her concern deepening. "And you should sit down, relax," she ordered with a stern but loving glare. Faith merely rolled her eyes, but a small, grateful smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "Call for Buffy if things get worse," Phoebe instructed as she and Buffy walked to the door, her voice filled with a mixture of hope and worry.

Paige turned to Piper and Faith as soon as Phoebe and Buffy were gone, her expression a blend of responsibility and concern. Piper spoke before she could voice her worries. "This potion takes a while to brew, and we're all out of hyssop," she informed them, her tone a mix of practicality and urgency. Piper then turned to Faith, her eyes filled with trust and appreciation. "Why don't you two stay with Karen and start cooking, and I'll go to the herb store?" Her words carried a sense of determination and a touch of concern for her sister's well-being.

Faith's frustration was evident in her tone as she drawled, highly unamused. "Really? I can't even go to an herb store?" Her voice carried a mix of irritation and reluctance. "What the hell are you all gonna be like when I'm bigger?" she asked fearfully, her vulnerability peeking through. "Let me come. It doesn't take two to babysit."

Paige cut in sharply, her voice filled with urgency as she shook her head and gripped Faith's arm to keep her there. "No!" Her words were firm and resolute, and there was a pleading look in her eyes. "I have to talk to you about something, and besides, you really should rest," she insisted, her concern for Faith's well-being shining through.

Faith looked at Paige carefully and nodded, a small but genuine smile gracing her lips. "Okay," she agreed, her trust in Paige evident. "I'll stay here. You two win."

"Good," Piper nodded with a warm smile, her voice filled with gratitude. She headed for the door, her steps purposeful. "I'll be back soon!" Piper called as she pulled the door closed and hurried to her jeep, the engine starting with a determined roar. Cole took her spot from behind, his presence reassuring.

"Okay, Aunt Piper," Faith called after Piper, her voice carrying a sense of affection and concern. She then turned to Paige, her eyes searching. "What's going on, P?"

Paige took a deep breath, her voice quivering with emotion as she nodded. "Okay," she began, her vulnerability laid bare. "I'm freaking out here, and you and Buffy are the only ones I can talk to." Her words were filled with trust and the need for understanding, her emotions raw and exposed.

Faith's suspicion quickly morphed into deep concern as she assessed the situation. She turned to Karen and offered a reassuring smile. "Karen? Aunt Paige and I need to have a little chat, but we're just gonna be in the next room, okay? You'll still be able to see us," she reassured the frightened woman, who nodded gratefully, her eyes still filled with fear. Faith and Paige then moved into the sitting room, their steps purposeful yet cautious.

Once they were seated, Faith didn't waste any time. "Alright, Aunt Paige, what is going on?" Her voice held a mix of urgency and determination.

Paige swallowed nervously, her emotions raw and exposed. "I'm not entirely sure," she admitted, her voice trembling with uncertainty. "But I think I saw Cole use demonic powers on Karen," she revealed, bracing herself for Faith's reaction.

Faith's expression grew serious, her eyes narrowing in thought. "Buffy and I have had our suspicions, but we've seen no proof of that," she admitted, her voice filled with a mix of frustration and concern. "What exactly did you see?"

Paige took a deep breath, her gaze steady as she recounted the unsettling sight. "I saw him doing something to Karen," she answered, her voice unwavering. "He said he was comforting her. But it looked like his hand was glowing."

Faith's brows furrowed, and she nodded slowly. "I believe you, P," she said, her trust in her aunt evident. "But without knowing more, we can't confront him. It'll hurt Aunt Phoebe if he's a demon again. We need concrete proof."

Paige nodded in agreement; her eyes filled with determination. "Besides that, we don't know how powerful he is, or how dangerous," she added wisely, her voice tinged with caution. "Right now, he only suspects me, and we're gonna keep it that way."

"Agreed," Faith said, her voice carrying a sense of determination and solidarity. She leaned in closer to Paige, her eyes filled with understanding. "Though I think you have more reason than that for not wanting me to confront him than just Aunt Phoebe or the fact he's dangerous."

Paige nodded, her gaze shifting towards Faith's stomach. "Yeah, because I'm Prudence's great aunt," she said, her voice filled with a protective warmth. She gestured towards Faith's unborn child. "It's my job to protect her."

Faith smiled appreciatively; her heart touched by Paige's devotion. "I know," she said, her voice softening with gratitude. "That said, you be careful around Uncle Cole. If he does suspect you, he may target you," she cautioned, her concern for Paige evident.

"I promise, Faith," Paige replied, her arms wrapping around her niece in a warm and reassuring hug.

"Who are you?" Karen asked Faith, her voice tinged with confusion and fear as she stared at the unfamiliar face. Faith placed a glass of water on the coffee table in front of her. "Why did you bring me here?" Karen's eyes darted around the room, searching for answers.

"Hey," Leo's soothing voice intervened, coming from the foyer and providing a welcome distraction for Faith. He smiled warmly, saving Faith from having to answer Karen's questions. "Have you seen Piper around?" His presence offered a sense of reassurance in the midst of uncertainty.

Paige seized the opportunity, nodding to Faith to signal that she would handle the situation. "Yeah, she's already left," Paige replied to Leo's inquiry, her voice steady and composed. They moved to the small ledge by the window. "Aren't you supposed to be on club duty?"

Leo's response carried a sense of longing, and Paige couldn't help but sympathize. "Well, I'd much rather be on my honeymoon," he admitted, his tone tinged with wistfulness. "Who is she? Is there something wrong?"

As they settled into their seats, Paige decided to share her concerns, trusting Leo's neutrality and discretion. "No, she's an innocent," Paige began, her voice carrying an air of confidence. "We're on top of it." She glanced quickly at Leo, seeking his opinion, his presence a source of comfort. "More importantly... I think I saw Cole using magical powers." Her words hung in the air, a weighty revelation that needed careful consideration.

"What?" Leo asked, his brows furrowing in deep concern as Paige's revelation took him by surprise.

Paige leaned in closer, her voice hushed as she explained, "Yes. Now, I know it sounds crazy, but I think I saw his hand glow." Her eyes flickered with worry, and she pretended to be cautious not to let Faith overhear their conversation.

"Paige—" Leo began, his voice filled with both skepticism and caution.

But Paige was resolute, cutting him off swiftly. "No, look," she urged, her eyes pleading with him. "There's something strange going on. There are all these elaborate gifts, and then he's got the $50,000 car. What job comes with perks like that?" Paige reasoned, her words carrying a sense of urgency and suspicion.

Leo raised an eyebrow, his expression serious as he tried to make sense of Paige's concerns. "So... Cole gets a company car, and that automatically makes him a demon in your eyes?" he questioned, probing for more information.

"No!" Paige insisted, her voice filled with frustration. "No, it's just that... something is different with him lately, and it's not good. Am I the only one seeing this?"

"Maybe you're the only one who wants to see it?" Leo suggested, his voice gentle but filled with a hint of skepticism. Paige narrowed her eyes, her frustration growing as she sought understanding.

"Meaning?" Paige asked, her tone sharp with impatience.

Leo chose his words carefully, his expression sympathetic. "Meaning that no one wants to be the fifth wheel," he explained, his voice carrying a note of understanding. "Well, in this case, seventh wheel."

Paige's face paled at Leo's words, a mixture of hurt and frustration washing over her. "That's not fair," she protested, her voice wavering.

Leo nodded; his expression unwavering. "You know what's not fair? Is you judging Cole for his past. He's not a demon anymore, and he's part of this family," he concluded, his tone firm but compassionate. He stood up, walking towards the door as he continued, "Have you told anyone else about your—"

"No," Paige cut him off, her voice steady as she prepared to defend her actions. "I was afraid of how they'd react, and if you're anything to go by, I was right."

Leo nodded; his gaze unwavering. "We've accepted Cole for who he is now, Paige... you should too," he advised, his words carrying a sense of wisdom and acceptance. With that, he slipped out of the front door, closing it behind him, before flaming out.

Underworld

Cole flamed into his chamber still cloaked in the deceptive guise of Leo. Inside, the Seer lingered, trapped in the form of 'Mike,' the law clerk, her impatience simmering like a cauldron ready to boil over.

"Well, it's about time," she seethed, her voice dripping with frustration and anger. Cole finally shed his false identity, reverting back to his true self, and set her free from her imposed transformation.

The Seer's gratitude, however, was tainted with a deadly glare that could chill the blood of even the bravest. "Thank you," she snapped, her eyes burning with a fierce intensity that dared anyone to cross her.

As Cole shared the disturbing news, a sense of impending doom settled over the room. "Paige saw me using my powers," he announced grimly.

"What?" The Seer gasped, her voice laced with fear, her features mirroring the terror that now gripped her. She hurriedly followed him as he began to pace, her desperation evident in her trembling form. "You've been exposed?" she whispered, the words barely escaping her trembling lips.

"Not necessarily," he countered, his tone a fragile shield against the looming catastrophe. "She's not sure what she saw," he added, his voice quivering with uncertainty.

The Seer's advice was delivered with a stark, unyielding intensity that cut through the room like a dagger. Her words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of impending doom.

"Nevertheless, she must die," she advised, her tone unrelenting, her emotions hidden behind a mask of cold determination.

Cole turned to her, a small frown marring his features as he processed her suggestion. "A little subtlety," he urged, his voice tinged with caution. He lowered himself into his chair, the tension in his body slowly dissipating as he settled in. "That would hardly put Phoebe in an amorous mood, and I'm too close now to abandon my plan."

The Seer's eyes bore into him, unyielding and unforgiving. "If one of the witches is onto you, more than your plan is at risk," she mused, her words laced with a hard edge that spoke of the dangers that lurked in the shadows.

Cole, lost in deep thought, countered, his voice laced with a fragile thread of hope, "But still, she's not sure she can trust her own eyes." His gaze drifted into the distance, his mind racing to find a solution. "And I think I know a way to make sure no one trusts what Paige says she saw."

The Seer's curiosity piqued, she leaned in, arching an eyebrow in anticipation. "How?" she asked, her skepticism momentarily overshadowed by intrigue.

"The innocent the girls brought home was infected by a power broker," Cole explained, his voice low and conspiratorial as he leaned forward in his chair.

"What does that have to do with it?" The Seer demanded, her incredulity evident in her expression, her emotions now a complex interplay of doubt and curiosity.

A sly smile played on Cole's lips as he elaborated on his devious plan. "If I could get a power broker to do the same to Paige, she'd become unstable as well," he explained, his voice carrying a sinister edge. "But by the time she reached breaking point, Piper, Phoebe, Faith, and Buffy will be on their honeymoons," he added with a chilling certainty, his eyes gleaming with malevolence.

The Seer's mind raced as she considered the potential consequences of Cole's scheme. "She could alert them," she pointed out, her voice laced with skepticism and caution as she approached his chair.

Cole leaned back, his smile undiminished, and countered, "Not if I accelerate her slide... push her past fear and into paranoia. Then she won't trust them enough to alert them." His plan was as dark as the abyss, and he reveled in the wickedness of it all. But there was something else he needed to know before he proceeded.

"But first, I need to know, Faith's future," he declared, his tone intense, his eyes locked onto the Seer's.

The Seer's eyes clouded over as she tapped into her supernatural abilities, peering into the future to glimpse the path Faith would tread. "Faith is now siding with good," she revealed, her voice distant as she relayed her vision.

Cole raised an eyebrow, surprised by the sudden turn of events. "How?" he inquired, his curiosity piqued. "Last time you looked, you said she was leaning toward evil."

The Seer's gaze held a profound wisdom as she spoke, "It appears that Paige told her about seeing you using your powers. Faith now has doubts and will not eat the herbs, solidifying her on the side of good."

Cole's determination deepened as he asked, "What must I do?" His voice resonated with a chilling resolve, ready to execute whatever dark plan the Seer would devise.

The Seer's response was concise and ominous, "Help her to forget."

Cole nodded in understanding, his mind already racing with the possibilities of how to erase the critical information from Faith's memory. "I could do as my predecessor did with Piper," he mused, his tone contemplative. "I could enter Faith's mind and remove any conversation she had with Paige. It must be done at the same time I have a broker infect Paige."

With a swift and calculated gesture, he summoned a broker demon into the chamber, the sudden appearance leaving the demon disoriented and bewildered. "Who did this? Who pulled me here?" the demon demanded, his confusion apparent.

Cole, his eyes turning black as his true identity as the Source was revealed, calmly replied, "I did."

The demon's shock was palpable as he recognized the dark power before him. "The Source," he stammered, his fear and reverence undeniable. He dropped to his knees, bowing his head in submission.

Cole approached the demon slowly, a sinister smile tugging at his lips. "Let's just keep that between us for now," he suggested, his voice dripping with intrigue. "I have an assignment for you. If you succeed, you'll be rewarded with more power than you can possibly imagine."

The Bay Mirror Newspaper

Phoebe and Buffy entered the bustling newsroom, their presence immediately drawing the attention of the people working there. Amidst the commotion, an ogling man couldn't help but interrupt them, his curiosity getting the better of him.

"Wow! And you two are?" he asked, a hint of a smirk on his face as he halted Phoebe and Buffy in the middle of the room.

"Married," Phoebe and Buffy replied simultaneously, their smiles holding a certain warmth that seemed to dispel any lingering interest from the man.

"We're both honeymooning tonight with our respective partners," Buffy added, her tone laced with enthusiasm. She emphasized, "Cannot wait."

Phoebe leaned in closer, her eyes fixed on the now-humbled guy. "Excuse me?" she called out, her voice demanding attention. "We're actually looking for someone, a boss-type someone. Her name is Elise?"

The man, duly chastised, pointed behind Buffy and Phoebe, gesturing to the far left. They nodded in acknowledgment, then made their way to the office door with 'Elise Rothman' etched on the glass in bold black letters.

Phoebe raised her fist to knock, but before she could, the door was flung open, revealing a woman who could only be Elise. Her abrupt appearance was accompanied by a sharp, impatient tone as she demanded, "What?"

Phoebe and Buffy exchanged glances, taken aback by Elise's abrupt response. Phoebe cleared her throat and tried to continue their explanation.

"Hi, we're here on behalf of Karen Young," Phoebe explained, her voice steady despite the interruption.

Buffy chimed in, "She has fallen ill and—"

But Elise cut them off with a sharp, uncompromising command. "Tell her she's fired."

Both Phoebe and Buffy blinked in astonishment. "Wha-what? No, no," Phoebe stammered, her eyebrows raised in disbelief.

Elise, seemingly unfazed by their protest, offered a brisk explanation. "When she's late, I'm late. I'm an editor with better things to do than to wait around for her."

Phoebe tried to reassure Elise, her smile faltering slightly as concern crept into her voice. "No, but she's not gonna be late," she insisted, her eyes searching for some understanding. Her smile vanished as a thought struck her, and she asked with a hint of worry, "Is she already late?"

"Deadline's eight o'clock tonight," Elise informed them, her tone conveying the urgency of the situation. She frowned, clearly puzzled by the situation. "I thought you said she was sick."

Buffy nodded, her expression earnest. "Well, that's why we're here. To pick up her assignment and bring it to her."

Phoebe chimed in, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "Believe me, nothing is more important to Karen than reporting the news..." She trailed off, unsure of how to continue.

Elise's eyebrows shot up, her curiosity piqued. "I would hardly call the advice column news." Without further ado, she took Phoebe and Buffy by the hands and led them into another office, which they assumed to be Karen's.

Inside, Phoebe and Buffy couldn't help but gawk at the chaotic scene before them. "Wow, that's a lot of mail," Phoebe observed, her eyes fixed on the desk that was littered with envelopes of various shapes and sizes.

Elise nodded in agreement; her voice laced with a hint of begrudging admiration. "Yeah," she acknowledged. "She's got a following, so she must be doing something right."

Phoebe hesitated, her words dying on her lips as she stopped Elise from leaving. Her voice, however, was filled with an earnest plea. "Um... Since there's so much traffic right now and we have to get this mail to her, would you consider extending—?"

But Elise cut her off, her tone unyielding. "I appreciate the fact that it takes a special type of person to rifle through the miseries of absolute strangers and actually manage to help," she acknowledged. "The fact is I couldn't even manage to care," she admitted honestly.

Phoebe and Buffy exchanged glances, their faces falling in disappointment. They nodded in understanding, their shoulders slumping slightly.

"This is a newspaper, and we work with deadlines," Elise explained, her tone firm as she turned and walked out the door. She threw one last remark over her shoulder, "End of conversation."

"Okay," Buffy said, her voice resigned, not wanting to push the matter further. She and Phoebe turned back to the daunting desk, their sighs echoing their frustration and uncertainty as they faced the mountain of mail before them.

P3

Piper's laughter echoed through the room as she struggled to regain her composure, her naked form concealed behind the bar as she reached for her phone. "Hello?" she answered, her voice still carrying traces of amusement.

"Hey," Phoebe's voice came through from the other end of the call, "Did you make the potion?"

"Potion?" Piper questioned, her head tilting in confusion, her mind still foggy from the laughter. "Paige is making the potion," she stammered as Leo reappeared, pressing against her from behind. Her breath hitched, and she continued, "And, and I have ten glorious minutes until I have to add my herbs."

"Great, because we need your help fast," Buffy's voice added urgently. From Piper's end, it sounded like Buffy and Phoebe were on speakerphone. "Karen's gonna get fired unless we get her advice column in by eight tonight," Buffy explained with a note of desperation in her tone.

Piper nodded absentmindedly; her attention clearly divided as Leo once again disappeared from view. "Uh-huh," she responded, not fully registering the urgency of the situation. Her mind was still preoccupied with the tantalizing distractions in her immediate vicinity.

"So, what would you tell a 28-year-old woman who's still living in her parents' house because she's afraid of living alone?" Phoebe's voice broke through, attempting to regain Piper's focus.

Piper's response was a mixture of surprise and amusement as she gasped loudly. "I'd... I'd tell her to get a life!" she blurted out, her voice filled with a playful exasperation that came from her current distraction.

Buffy couldn't help but chuckle at Piper's candid response. "How can Phoebe or I write that? We fight demons every day. How can we tell her that there's nothing to be afraid of, you know?" Buffy mused, recognizing the stark contrast between their lives and the advice they were supposed to give.

Piper gasped again as Leo reappeared, his presence pulling at her. The sudden distraction left Phoebe curious and concerned. "Piper, what are you doing?" she asked, her voice tinged with confusion.

Piper's smirk was evident in her voice as she replied, "I am taking my own advice!" She cried out, the sound of her licking her lips audible. "If you get stuck, call Faith," she added mischievously before abruptly hanging up the phone, her attention fully consumed by her husband.

Halliwell Manor

Faith entered the bustling kitchen, her presence injecting a sense of energy into the room. "How's it going in here?"

Paige was focused on the task of boiling the potion, her concentration unwavering as she responded to Faith's greeting. "Good," she nodded, her attention still on her brewing concoction. "I am almost ready for Piper's herbs."

Faith, with her characteristic boldness, threw an arm around her aunt's shoulders, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "So, you never told me what Uncle Leo said."

Paige's expression darkened as she recalled the conversation. "He didn't believe me," she admitted with a heavy sigh. "He was defending Cole."

Before anyone could react, Karen suddenly shot up from her seat, her agitation evident in her frantic movements. "I got to get out of here now!" she cried out, flipping over the table in her panic.

Both Faith and Paige jumped at the sudden outburst. Faith acted quickly, sprinting to the door and blocking Karen's path. "Oh my—HEY!" she yelled, trying to calm the distressed woman. "Wait, wait, wait, wait." Faith held up her hands, her voice soothing. "Wait, Karen, the medicine is almost finished," she reassured Karen calmly. "After you've taken it, you can go anywhere you want, okay? But for right now, you have to stay here where it's safe."

"You're trying to poison me," Karen accused, her voice laced with paranoia and fear. "You're working for that bitch, Elise. I'm gonna kill her before she kills me!"

Faith immediately shook her head, her concern evident as she tried to reason with Karen. "No, no, that's... that's the paranoia talking, alright? You just need to trust us and stay calm."

Paige, too, joined in, lending her support to Faith's reassurances. She spoke gently, her voice soothing. "She's telling the truth, Karen. We're only trying to help you. No one is trying to hurt you."

But Karen remained defiant, her distrust evident in her gaze. "I don't believe you," she growled, her frustration mounting. She turned to Faith with seething anger. "And I don't want your help!" With that, she spun Faith around, throwing her to the floor, and bolted from the room.

"AH!" Faith yelped as she hit the floor, the shock and pain evident in her voice.

Paige's worry deepened as she watched Karen make her escape. "Faith—" she began, concern etched on her face.

But Faith, recovering quickly from the fall, issued a sharp command. "Go after her, Aunt Paige. Don't let her leave." The urgency in her voice left no room for hesitation.

Paige nodded resolutely, her determination evident as she orbed out and then back in at the front door, effectively blocking Karen's path. "I'm sorry, I just can't let you go," she asserted firmly.

Karen's fear and confusion were palpable as she gasped, taking a step back. "Oh my god! What are you?" she demanded, her voice trembling, her panic intensifying.

Before anyone could respond, Karen lunged for Paige, her desperation driving her forward. Paige yelped, agilely sliding out of the way just in time. But the situation escalated further as Cole suddenly entered through the front door, catching Karen in his arms and restraining her.

"What's going on in here?" Cole demanded, his voice filled with confusion and concern as he struggled to hold onto the thrashing Karen.

Faith, arriving on the scene, called out to her uncle. "Uncle Cole?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise and relief at his unexpected arrival.

"GET OFF ME!" Karen screamed, her voice filled with terror and panic. "LEAVE ME ALONE!"

"Where's Phoebe?" Cole's voice was tinged with concern as he glanced at Faith, searching for answers in her eyes.

"Good question," Paige added, her own worry mirroring Cole's.

Faith, now in front of Cole, took charge of the situation. She called out to Karen, her voice sharp and commanding, "Karen? Karen! Calm down, we're trying to help you!" Her words were a desperate attempt to break through the woman's hysteria.

Unbeknownst to the Paige or Faith, the power broker that Cole had hired appeared behind Paige, lurking in the shadows.

Cole, recognizing the danger, reacted swiftly. He nodded at the demon, and it conjured a light ball. "PAIGE, BEHIND YOU!" he yelled, his voice filled with urgency, just as the demon released the ball, and it struck Paige in the back, causing her to glow with a blinding white light.

Faith whirled around, her own powers at the ready as she formed a fireball in her hand. She unleashed the fiery projectile, knocking the demon off balance and sending him sprawling to the ground. "Uncle Cole, get Karen out of here," she ordered, her voice firm and authoritative, recognizing that the woman needed to be removed from the danger.

ole's quick thinking and whispered words to the demon saved Faith from harm, and he tackled the demon to the ground just as it was about to unleash another light ball. The two grappled on the floor, leaving Faith shocked and bewildered.

"UNCLE COLE!" Faith yelled, her voice filled with panic. "What are you doing?" She couldn't comprehend why he would engage in such a dangerous altercation.

But Faith quickly realized that the immediate priority was to get Karen to safety. She turned to Paige, who was bravely moving toward the frightened woman, her intentions clear.

"Get Karen out of here," Faith ordered, her tone urgent as she took charge of the situation.

However, things took a devastating turn as Karen's panic escalated. She unleashed a wave of energy from her hands, burning Paige's skin as she desperately tried to keep the woman from getting closer. The painful sight left Faith gasping in horror.

"Oh god!" Faith exclaimed, her voice trembling with distress. She watched as Paige fell to the ground, writhing in pain, her hands shielding her face from further harm. But before Faith could react, Karen, fueled by her demonic strength, threw her against the wall with incredible force.

"AH!" Faith winced as she slid down to the floor, her hand instinctively reaching for her throbbing head. "Son of a—"

"Faith," Paige whimpered, her voice filled with agony. Faith's eyes snapped to her aunt, concern and dread etched across her face as she realized the extent of the danger, they were all in.

"UNCLE LEO!" Faith's urgent cry for help rang through the room. Leo materialized with his wife at his side, their backs turned to Cole and the struggling demon. Faith pointed to Paige; her voice filled with concern as she winced in pain.

"Aunt Paige," Faith said, her words rushed as she indicated her injured aunt. Leo wasted no time and immediately bent down next to Paige, placing his hands over her wounds and channeling his healing powers to alleviate her suffering.

Faith, still on the floor but determined to protect her family, locked eyes with Piper. "Blow him up!" she ordered harshly, her finger pointing at the demon. She quickly provided an explanation, "Power broker."

Faith's tone left no room for hesitation, and Piper immediately understood the gravity of the situation. "UNCLE COLE, MOVE!" she yelled, her voice commanding, and Cole rolled off the demon, putting himself out of harm's way.

With a flick of her wrists and a determined look in her eyes, Piper unleashed her formidable power, vanquishing the intruding demon. He stared wide-eyed at Cole in his final moments, his existence obliterated by Piper's potent magic.

Piper scanned the room, her eyes filled with concern. "Uh... Where's Karen?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry as she realized the woman had disappeared.

Faith provided the grim answer, holding out her hand, which Piper grasped to help her up. "She's gone," Faith replied, her tone heavy with apprehension.

Piper's attention shifted to Leo; her eyes filled with concern. "Is she gonna be okay?" she inquired, her gaze focusing on the shivering and injured Paige, clearly worried about her sister's well-being.

"You should be feeling better," Leo observed Paige who was rubbing her forehead, leaning against the island heavily. Paige's face still bore the remnants of pain and exhaustion, despite Leo's healing touch. Her eyes, once clouded with agony, now held a glimmer of relief, but weariness still clung to her like a stubborn shadow.

"Oh, yeah, I am," Paige assured him, her voice a bit shaky. Her fingers trembled slightly as she attempted to lift the vial to pour in the potion. The physical strain and mental fatigue were etched across her features, but she mustered a determined smile for Leo.

"Here," Faith took the potion from Paige's unsteady hands, her own movements fluid and sure. She held the vial with a gentle confidence, offering Paige a sense of security. "Let me pour that." Faith's eyes held a mixture of concern and playful teasing as she glanced at Paige, who gave her a small, appreciative smile.

"It was like acid spray," Piper exclaimed to Phoebe and Buffy down the phone, her voice filled with a mix of frustration and concern. "It hurt Paige pretty bad, so we need to find Karen fast."

"So, our innocent is now our demon?" Buffy asked for clarification, her tone reflecting a touch of disbelief.

"Right," Piper nodded, her voice tinged with determination. She understood the urgency of the situation. "But she is still our innocent, and listen—Faith said she was ranting about hating her boss, so she could be on her way there."

Phoebe sighed deeply, her voice carrying the weight of their predicament. "Oh, well, great! Then you should be on your way here too," she pointed out, a hint of frustration in her tone. "Because there's not a whole lot we could do against an acid-breathing innocent, ya know?"

Piper couldn't help but correct her sister with a wry smirk. "The acid is coming out of her hands," she clarified, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. Their innocent was now a formidable threat, and they needed to act swiftly.

"Sadly, Phoebe is right," Buffy chimed in, her voice tinged with resignation. "I can't do anything with my Slayer side, and I can't do much with my witch side either. Which leaves my Whitelighter side, and like my Slayer side, that would mean getting in close. So, I can't do much, period, except deflect her attacks with my telekinesis."

Before long, Phoebe's practicality kicked in. "Buffy, just hang up. We're on a deadline, remember?" Piper heard the dial tone, signifying Buffy's departure from the conversation.

"Okay, I'm gonna go to Phoebe and Buffy in case Karen goes there," Piper informed her sister and niece. Turning to Faith, she asked, "Wanna come?"

Faith nodded in agreement; her expression resolute. She dropped the ice-pack onto the countertop and handed Piper a potion vial, her eyes reflecting the seriousness of their task. "Potion," she stated, her voice steady and determined.

"I'll orb you," Paige offered, pushing off the island, determination in her eyes.

"No," Cole disagreed, quickly pushing out of his seat at the kitchen table. "Your orbing's still a little uh… clumsy, and besides, they might need Leo's healing powers since Buffy has yet to learn how to heal," he pointed out, concern etched on his face.

Piper nodded in agreement, her expression serious. "Good point. You should stay here in case Karen comes back," she directed toward Paige, emphasizing the need for caution.

Paige exchanged a knowing glance with Faith, silently pleading for her support. She tilted her head subtly in Cole's direction, hoping that Faith would pick up on her unspoken request.

Faith offered a reassuring smile to Paige and nodded. "I'll stay here too," she said firmly, her gaze steady as she met Piper's eyes.

Piper frowned, her concern for Paige and Faith evident. "You sure?"

Faith nodded; her determination unwavering. "Yeah, less faces to explain, and I'd just… feel better if one of us was here with Aunt Paige, ya know?" She offered a reassuring smile, emphasizing the importance of her decision.

Piper smiled warmly. "Yeah, I do," she agreed, her tone filled with gratitude. "It puts me at ease, and it's better to stay in pairs, or in my case, threes. Plus, you hit your head pretty hard, so..." She shrugged playfully, her smirk suggesting mischief. "You might not be very useful anyway."

Faith gasped dramatically, "I resent that, Aunt Piper," she retorted, jabbing Piper lightly on the shoulder, their banter providing a momentary distraction from the looming danger.

Piper scowled at her niece in mock annoyance, then leaned in to give Faith a kiss on the cheek. "Bye," she said with a smile, before turning to Leo, who wrapped his arms around her and orbed them out, leaving Paige and Faith behind.

"Thank you," Paige said quietly, her voice filled with genuine appreciation, and Faith smiled warmly in response, silently conveying her support and readiness to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

"No problem. I'd only worry about you anyway," Faith replied stoically, her dedication to her family evident in her unwavering support.

Cole, meanwhile, couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction as his plan unfolded before him. The broker demon would infect Paige just like he wanted while he erased Faith's memory of her conversation with Paige.

Paige looked at Cole, caught his eye and quickly looked away, shifting closer to Faith, the fear setting in.

"Paige, you don't still have a problem with me, do you?" he asked bluntly, his words carrying a hint of accusation. He hoped to exploit any lingering doubts or resentment Paige might have.

Paige glanced at Faith, who was watching Cole with curiosity. Faith, realizing the game Cole was playing, turned to Paige and gently urged, "P?" Her expression feigned curiosity, as if she wanted Paige to explain her feelings.

Cole, wearing a facade of hurt and confusion, looked at Paige expectantly. "I don't believe it. I saved your life out there," he exclaimed, appealing to Paige for support, while secretly hoping to further his own agenda.

"I just..." Paige shook her head, her voice filled with confusion and frustration. She struggled to find the right words to express her emotions, her inner turmoil evident in her furrowed brow and closed eyes. Before anyone could react, Paige abruptly pulled away from Faith and fled the room, her footsteps echoing through the hallway.

"Aunt Paige," Faith called out, concern etched across her face as she turned to follow her, but Cole intercepted her, catching her arm gently but firmly.

"Faith, don't," Cole advised, his voice calm and reassuring. He maintained his hold on her arm as he spoke. "She's confused, doesn't really know how she's feeling, and I think… I think she just needs some time by herself to sort out her head."

Faith squinted her eyes, her initial frustration giving way to understanding as she considered Cole's words. She nodded slowly, realizing that he might be right. "Yeah, yeah, I guess you're right. Us pestering her is just gonna make it worse."

Cole smiled, releasing his hold on her arm, and tilted his head slightly. "How's your head?" he inquired, showing genuine concern for her well-being.

Faith smiled back, her resilience shining through. "It stings right now, but that's the thing about Slayer healing. In a couple of hours, well, it will be gone," she replied confidently, displaying the resilience that came with her unique abilities.

Cole nodded with feigned concern, flexing his fingers subtly as he watched Faith, who swayed on the spot. "Whoa!" Cole exclaimed, reaching out to steady Faith as she swayed on the spot, his voice filled with apparent worry. "You okay?"

Faith gripped his wrist, her eyes closing against the disorienting sensation. She nodded slowly, her voice trembling slightly as she explained, "Uh… yeah. I just… I just got a little dizzy." She took deep breaths, attempting to regain her balance.

Cole's smirk remained hidden beneath his facade of concern. "Maybe you should sit down," he suggested smoothly, his voice dripping with false compassion. Without hesitation, he snapped his fingers, and Faith's eyes rolled back as she lost consciousness. Cole swiftly caught her in his arms and lowered her gently to the floor.

"Now," Cole declared with a chilling smile, positioning his hands beside Faith's, both sets of hands glowing ominously. "Now, it's time to erase those memories."

As Cole's hands glowed ominously beside Faith's head, he delved into her mind, a sinister determination guiding his actions. He sought out the specific memories he wished to erase, starting with Faith's conversation with Paige, where Paige had witnessed him using his powers. With methodical precision, he began the process of erasing those memories from Faith's consciousness.

However, as he delved deeper into Faith's mind, he stumbled upon another conversation, one that had taken place between Prue, Buffy, and Faith. In this conversation, Prue had asked Faith and Buffy to protect Phoebe and Piper from Cole. The revelation of Prue's request had clearly left an impact on Faith.

Without hesitation, Cole decided to erase this memory as well, ensuring that no trace of Prue's request would linger in Faith's mind. He knew that at his first opportunity, he would also erase Buffy's memory of that conversation, leaving no loose ends in his quest to manipulate events to his advantage.

"What if she doesn't come here?" Piper queried, her voice filled with a sense of uncertainty, as she and Leo peered out from behind the closed blinds of Karen's office, anxiously awaiting the unfolding events.

Leo's eyes remained focused on the window as he responded, his expression resolute. "It's our best bet," he replied, his determination unwavering. He knew that they had to stay vigilant and prepared for any possibility.

Meanwhile, Phoebe and Buffy were seated behind two desks and engrossed in their work. "How do you spell 'oblique'?" Phoebe asked, her glasses perched on her nose as she typed away, her attention briefly diverted from the situation at hand.

Piper couldn't resist a quip, her sense of humor breaking through the tension. "With spell check," she replied, earning a scowl from Phoebe.

"There she is," Leo announced, his voice filled with a sense of urgency, as he spotted a harried-looking Karen bursting through the office doors.

Karen's agitation was palpable as she glared at those around her, pushing people out of her way in a desperate search for Elise. Her wild and determined quest added a layer of tension to the already charged atmosphere.

Piper, sensing the imminent danger, called out urgently to her sister and niece, "Phoebe, Buffy." Both Phoebe and Buffy mumbled in reply, deeply engrossed in their tasks.

Growing increasingly impatient, Piper raised her voice, trying to get their attention. "Phoebe! Buffy!" she exclaimed, her tone urgent and commanding. "Acid-spraying innocent in the house."

Phoebe, still engrossed in her work, responded, "Yeah, just give me a second," her fingers typing furiously.

Buffy echoed Phoebe's sentiment, her own typing equally frantic. "Me too," she added.

As Piper couldn't afford to wait any longer, she made her way to the office door, determined to take action. "Karen?" she called, yanking open the door. "She's in here. She's waiting for your assignment."

Karen rushed into the office, her frantic search for Elise continuing as she scanned the room. Piper acted quickly, closing the door behind her to contain the imminent threat.

Phoebe, who had been engrossed in her work moments ago, cried out in relief, shooting up from her chair. "Yes! Printing," she exclaimed with excitement, clearly pleased with her progress. Buffy echoed her enthusiasm, saying, "Ditto," as she too prepared to take action.

Piper, however, didn't let them forget their primary objective. She looked at Phoebe and Buffy with a pointed expression, reminding them of their mission. "Hi, saving," she emphasized, moving to stand between Phoebe and Buffy, ready to confront the dangerous situation at hand. "Karen, we have your medicine," she announced, her voice steady but urgent.

Karen, overwhelmed by her desperation and fear, threw up her hands, shooting a stream of acid at them without hesitation. Buffy reacted swiftly, diving to the left to avoid the dangerous spray, while Piper let out a startled shriek, ducking down just in time to avoid being hit. Phoebe, displaying her agility, levitated upwards, her feet pressed against the wall as the acid struck, causing it to melt her computer, but leaving her unscathed.

"Well..." Phoebe said with a wry smile as she descended back to the ground, joining Piper and Buffy at their side. "It's a good thing I was done," she remarked, trying to inject a bit of humor into the tense situation.

Piper, however, remained focused on the immediate threat. She raised one hand and froze Karen with a stern glare, using her powers to immobilize the harried woman and prevent any further attacks.

Leo, ever vigilant, glanced out of the window and winced as he noticed someone approaching. "Someone's coming, and the door doesn't lock," he informed them, concern etched on his face.

Buffy provided the crucial context. "Oh, that's Elise," she said, recognizing the newcomer. "She's coming for Karen's assignment."

Phoebe added her thoughts with a mixture of hope and uncertainty. "God! I hope she likes it," she said, her tone revealing the tension and anticipation of the impending encounter.

Buffy echoed Phoebe's sentiment with a hopeful tone. "So, do I," she agreed, her anxiety palpable as they awaited Elise's arrival.

However, the tension was shattered when Piper gasped in alarm," Buffy! Phoebe!" her voice filled with urgency. She pushed her sister and then her niece roughly, snapping them back to reality and the imminent danger at hand.

"Oh, ok—What? Okay. Okay, what do I do? What do I do?" Phoebe's panic was evident as she desperately sought guidance in this critical moment.

Piper wasted no time, her voice firm as she handed the potion to Phoebe. "Shove it down her throat," she instructed, her urgency cutting through the chaos of the situation. She turned to Buffy, issuing another command. "Buffy, help me hold her in case she unfreezes beforehand."

Phoebe took the potion with wide, anxious eyes, but she repeated Piper's instructions with an affirmative nod. "Shove it down her throat," she acknowledged, her determination outweighing her fear. With the cork removed, Phoebe followed Piper and Buffy to the frozen woman, ready to administer the potion and hopefully save Karen from the dangerous effects of her newfound powers.

"Go!" Piper cried out urgently as she and Buffy acted quickly, throwing their arms around Karen's to pin them to her sides, preventing any sudden movements.

Phoebe, with a sense of urgency, held Karen's mouth open and forced the potion down her throat. "Sorry, sorry, sorry," she apologized repeatedly as Karen struggled and tried to pull away, but there was no choice but to ensure the potion took effect.

Outside, Elise banged on the door, demanding entry. "Karen? Karen, open the door!" she ordered angrily, growing increasingly concerned about her friend's well-being. Inside the office, Piper and Buffy pushed Karen onto the couch in the office, sitting down on either side of Karen, waiting for the potion to work.

"Karen? Open the door!" Elise ordered angrily.

As the tension in the room reached its peak, Karen suddenly glowed, and a ball of light left her body, disappearing into thin air. Leo, standing beside Phoebe, moved his foot to unblock the door just as Elise stumbled inside.

"Sorry," Leo apologized, trying to maintain his composure. "It was jammed."

Elise looked around the room, her expression shifting from anger to puzzlement. Her gaze first landed on Phoebe, then on Leo. "What the hell is going on in here?" she demanded of Phoebe, her voice filled with frustration, before turning to Leo with suspicion. "Who are you?"

Phoebe quickly stepped in to handle the situation, pointing at Leo and providing an explanation. "Oh, this is Karen's doctor," she said, indicating Leo, "and her nurses." She gestured toward Piper and Buffy, who waved in acknowledgment. "I told you she's very sick," Phoebe added, emphasizing the gravity of the situation to explain Leo, Piper and Buffy's presence.

Elise glanced at the wide-eyed Karen and turned to Leo with concern. "She gonna live?" she asked, her worry for her friend evident in her tone.

Leo nodded reassuringly. "Uh… yeah, yeah, she's gonna be fine," he assured Elise, trying to put her at ease.

"Good," Elise replied, her focus shifting back to Karen. "Where's my copy?" she demanded, clearly eager to retrieve Karen's assignment.

Karen looked perplexed. "I don't..."

Phoebe, ever resourceful, jumped into action with a smile. "I have that," she announced, rushing over to the printer. "I actually have two copies." She swiftly retrieved both copies of the assignment, one she had written and one Buffy had written, and passed them over the desk to Elise, resolving the immediate issue at hand.

Elise took the copies from Phoebe, adjusting her glasses and reading the assignments intently in silence. Suddenly, she exclaimed loudly, causing Phoebe to jump in surprise. "HA!" Elise declared; her tone filled with amusement. "That's funny."

Phoebe leaned forward; her curiosity piqued. "It's funny?" she asked cautiously, seeking clarification. "Like, like bad funny?"

Buffy chimed in, echoing Phoebe's confusion. "What's funny?"

Elise, however, seemed to be enjoying herself. "Both are funny," she replied cryptically, before turning her attention back to Karen. "You should be sick more often," she remarked with a serious tone. "This is good stuff."

Phoebe and Buffy exchanged surprised glances, their confusion giving way to relief and excitement. "Really?" they both uttered, grinning in disbelief. Phoebe's enthusiasm got the best of her, and she added, "It is?" She quickly caught Piper's pointed glare and amended her response with a more appropriate, "Yay, Karen!"

"Thank you," Karen said gratefully, looking over at Phoebe and Buffy with a warm smile.

Elise, still engrossed in her reading, seemed distracted as she replied, "You're welcome." Without further ado, she turned around and left the office.

Phoebe exhaled slowly and eased into a chair, her expression one of satisfaction. "You and I did it, Buffy," she said, smiling at her niece, who returned the grin.

Piper watched them with a curious tilt of her head. "I mean, we all did it," Phoebe quickly amended herself, acknowledging the collective effort that had led to their success.

Halliwell Manor

"Paige?" Cole called out in a calm and reassuring tone, trying to approach her with care. He threw a fireball above her head. "What's the matter?" he inquired as he observed her trembling form.

Paige couldn't contain her fear and distress, and she cried loudly, crawling away from Cole, her trust shattered.

Cole waved his hand at the attic roof, causing it to magically repair itself. "Are you okay?" he asked with sincerity.

But Paige was unable to comprehend what she had just witnessed. "How did you do that?" she whimpered, shrinking away from him in fear, her mind struggling to make sense of the inexplicable.

Cole continued to approach her slowly, attempting to reassure her. "Do what?" he inquired softly.

Paige, overwhelmed by her emotions, couldn't hold back any longer. She whimpered and crawled further away from him, her voice trembling as she uttered her deepest fear. "Just admit it," she pleaded, tears in her eyes. "You're a demon. Just tell the truth."

"Paige, I can't believe you'd even think that," Cole responded with a hint of disbelief in his voice. "You're the one acting strange. If you keep this up, you're gonna hurt yourself."

Paige's fear was palpable as she screamed when he took a step closer. "Stay away from me!" she pleaded, shuffling further away and partially hiding herself from his view. "I'm gonna tell Phoebe."

Cole chuckled softly, finding amusement in her distress. "You don't really think your sisters and nieces would leave you alone with me if I was evil, do you?" he asked, trying to reason with her.

"They didn't!" Paige shrieked in desperation, her emotions running high. "Faith's downstairs. She doesn't trust you either!"

Cole shook his head in a patronizing manner. "Oh, see, that's where you're wrong," he said cryptically. "Faith's gone, Paige."

"What?" Paige's sobs echoed through the attic as she flinched at his words, her world seemingly crumbling around her.

"Yeah, she left," Cole replied casually, his demeanor strangely calm in the face of Paige's growing panic. "Left you."

Paige's head was spinning with fear and confusion. "No. What, what did you do to her?" she demanded, her voice trembling as she confronted Cole with her suspicions.

Cole chuckled once more, taking another step closer, and Paige's fear escalated to a full-blown scream. "NO! Stay away from me!" she cried out, her terror mounting.

Undeterred, Cole bent down so he was eye-level with her, his voice taking on a menacing tone. "Do you really think Phoebe would have married me if I was a demon?" he growled, his eyes shifting from their usual color to fire and then to a dark, malevolent black. Paige instinctively shielded her face with her arm, unable to bear the intensity of his gaze.

But just as quickly as his demeanor had turned threatening, Cole's phone chirped at his hip, jarring him from his confrontation with Paige. "Hello?" he answered cheerfully, his tone shifting abruptly as he switched his focus to the call.

"Hey," Phoebe's voice greeted him from the other end. "Did you say something about a honeymoon suite for tonight?" she inquired, unaware of the turmoil unfolding in the attic.

"Does that mean you found Karen?" Cole asked hopefully, relief apparent in his voice.

Phoebe's response was filled with pride and satisfaction. "Yes, we found her, we saved her," she confirmed with pride. "We even saved her job. She's fine. The only thing is she doesn't remember anything that happened today."

Cole's happiness was palpable as he responded, "Perfect!" His excitement was clear, but Phoebe picked up on his cryptic tone.

"What?" she asked, her curiosity piqued as she detected something amiss in his reaction.

Cole quickly explained his line of thinking, trying to reassure her. "Well, that means she can't expose you guys as witches," he clarified, turning his gaze toward Paige, who flinched away from him. "You know… if we hurry, we can still make late check-in."

Phoebe considered his words for a moment, then her tone shifted to one of anticipation. "Oh, but I don't have anything to wear," she said, her voice tinged with sadness.

"I can pack for you," Cole suggested, his voice filled with playful humor. "I know what I like," he added with a chuckle.

Phoebe joined in the light-hearted banter, her laughter ringing through the phone. "I bet you do," she replied playfully. "Okay, I'll meet you there," she agreed, the excitement of their plans shining through her voice.

But before she could hang up, Cole stopped her with a final suggestion. "Hey, wait, wait, wait," he called out, pausing their conversation. "Why don't you tell Leo to go get Willow and Tara for their cruise, and you, Piper, and Buffy can meet them at the docks to see Willow and Tara off. From there, everyone can leave on their respective honeymoons. I'll drop Faith off when I pick you up."

Phoebe considered the idea, realizing it made sense and would streamline their plans. "I guess... I mean, they are already packed," she agreed.

Cole nodded in satisfaction. "Exactly! Faith and I will bring the bags. You never know when the next demon's gonna attack."

Phoebe assured him, "I will tell them," her voice filled with warmth and gratitude. "You just hurry. Bye."

Paige's fear and confusion reached a breaking point as she watched Cole snap his phone shut and turn toward her, flames surrounding him. The sight left her frozen, unable to comprehend the terrifying display before her.

"Stop it," Paige begged, her voice trembling with fear and despair. "Why are you doing this to me?" She hugged herself tightly, trying to find some sense of security in the midst of her turmoil.

Cole, however, seemed unfazed by her distress. He approached her calmly, his gaze fixed on hers. "What's the matter?" he queried, his tone taunting. "Seeing things?" He wore a smirk that only heightened Paige's fear, leaving her on the brink of a breakdown.

Without further explanation, Cole turned and stalked out of the attic, closing the door behind him. Left alone, Paige's emotions overwhelmed her, and she couldn't contain her rage and frustration any longer. As Paige held out her hands, palms up, she sent white beams of energy at a dollhouse, reducing it to smithereens. She stared at her own hands in shock. Overwhelmed, she slowly fell to her knees, sobbing loudly as she curled into a ball, lost in her despair.

0 – 0 – 0 – 0 – 0

Cole moved with an air of confidence as he entered Faith and Buffy's room, his powers at his disposal. With a wave of his hand, he sent their suitcases flying to the car, seamlessly executing the task at hand. He repeated the process with Piper and Leo's luggage before making his way back downstairs, feeling extremely pleased with himself for his efficiency.

Upon returning to the kitchen, Cole glanced down at Faith, who was still unconscious on the floor. He contemplated how he was going to explain this situation, his mind working quickly to come up with a plan.

Cole's next action was to address the mess on the countertop, which was still cluttered with potion ingredients and a pot. With a wave of his hand, he cleared the space, tidying it up effortlessly. Kneeling beside Faith, he snapped his fingers to rouse her from unconsciousness.

Faith blinked slowly as she gradually regained her senses, her confusion evident. "What the..." she began, disoriented.

"Easy, easy," a voice from above her coaxed, and Faith squinted as she adjusted to the light.

"Uncle Cole?" Faith questioned, her uncertainty clear in her voice.

"Hey, you okay?" Cole asked her gently, his brow furrowing in concern. Faith nodded, her head still throbbing from the earlier dizzy spell.

"Uh... I think so. What, what happened?" Faith asked as Cole helped her to her feet, her head still throbbing.

Cole played his part convincingly, feigning ignorance. "I don't know. We were cleaning the potion stuff away, I stepped out to make some calls and found you on the floor," he lied smoothly, his expression concerned.

Faith looked at the now clear countertop, trying to piece together what had happened. "You must have fainted. You don't remember?" he prodded; his deception well-practiced.

Shaking her head, Faith admitted, "No. Where's Aunt Paige?"

"She's asleep," Cole replied with a nonchalant shrug, maintaining his facade. "Said she'd feel better after a good night's sleep. You don't remember that either?" he inquired carefully, watching Faith closely for any signs of suspicion.

"No," Faith sighed, looking around and noticing the shattered potion on the floor. "Crap," she cursed, her frustration evident. "Great, now we got no potion left."

Trying to reassure her, Cole spoke up. "It's okay," he told her, choosing to share a piece of actual news. "Phoebe just called, they found Karen and saved her. She's fine."

Faith's relief was palpable as she smiled at Cole's news. "Thank god," she expressed her gratitude.

Cole nodded with eagerness, ready to move forward. "Let's go," he urged, gesturing to the door as he reached for her arm, intent on leaving the house before Faith had a chance to hear Paige.

Faith, however, pulled her arm free, a questioning expression on her face. "Wha—whoa!" she exclaimed, taken aback. "Where are we going?"

Cole quickly provided an explanation. "The docks," he said, pointing in the direction they needed to head. "You're going to meet Leo, Piper, Phoebe, and Buffy as they see Willow and Tara off on their cruise. The bags are in the car, so you and Buffy, as well as Piper and Leo, can leave straight from there for your respective honeymoons. That way, Phoebe and I can head straight to the hotel."

Concerned for her aunt, Faith brought up the question that had been on her mind. "What about Aunt Paige?" she asked. "Should she be alone? I should go check on her."

Cole placed a comforting hand on her back, trying to dissuade her from the idea. "No," he replied firmly. "You don't need to do that. You'll only disturb her."

Faith nodded, accepting Cole's reasoning. "Yeah, I guess. Urgh!" She suddenly grimaced, her hand instinctively going to her stomach.

Concerned, Cole furrowed his brow as he watched her. "What's wrong?" he inquired, noticing her discomfort.

"I just feel ill again," Faith explained with a shrug, as if trying to downplay the discomfort.

Cole recalled the herbs he had given her earlier. "Have you taken the herbs I gave you yet?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine concern. "Might not be a bad idea to take some before your nausea gets any worse."

Faith nodded in agreement. "Maybe you're right," she conceded. "The bag is in my purse. I'll eat some on the way to the docks."

Inwardly, Cole couldn't help but smirk at his hidden agenda. The more of the herbs Faith consumed, the quicker she would turn toward the path of evil, returning her to her destiny as his Chosen Heir—the Queen of the Underworld. His plan was set in motion, and he continued to play his role, concealing his true intentions as he guided Faith toward her unknowing fate.

Docks

The sun shone brightly over the bustling docks as the group gathered to bid farewell to Willow and Tara, who were about to embark on their dream cruise. Laughter and excitement filled the air, providing a welcome break from the recent challenges they had faced.

Piper and Leo stood together, their hands entwined, as they watched Willow prepare for the adventure. Buffy and Faith, with their playful banter, teased each other about their impending honeymoon. Phoebe, radiant with happiness for her upcoming night with Cole, joined the lively group.

Cole, concealing his ulterior motives behind a friendly façade, couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and joy for the couple. He stood by Phoebe's side, offering a supportive smile.

As the ship's horn blared, signaling its departure, Willow shared a heartfelt embrace with Piper and Leo. "I will see you in Hawaii," she told them with a warm smile.

"Have fun, Tara," Buffy said, offering her cousin an encouraging smile. Then, with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, she couldn't resist adding, "And you know, while you two are on the cruise, why don't you make a move on Willow?"

Tara blushed slightly at Buffy's teasing, her eyes meeting Willow's with a mixture of affection and amusement. "Well, I'll certainly consider it," she replied, playing along with the banter and earning a round of laughter from the group.

Faith, ever the practical one, chimed in, "Just remember to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated, you two. Don't want to come back sunburned and dehydrated from all the romance."

Phoebe added her well-wishes, her eyes filled with happiness for the couple. "Have an amazing time, Willow and Tara. Make unforgettable memories together."

Cole, maintaining his supportive facade, offered his own words of encouragement. "Enjoy every moment of your adventure. And don't forget to send us postcards."

Summers Villa, Madrid, Spain

Under the warm Madrid sun, Buffy and Faith stood outside the stately home of Buffy's father, Hank. It had been a year since Buffy had seen him, and a mixture of anticipation and nervousness churned in her stomach. She shifted on her feet, glancing at Faith for support.

Faith, standing by her side, gave her a reassuring smile. "You've got this, B," she said softly, her hand resting gently on Buffy's arm.

Buffy took a deep breath and nodded, her heart pounding as she approached the front door. She raised her hand to knock, her knuckles hesitating for a moment before she rapped on the wood.

Seconds later, the door swung open, revealing Hank. His eyes widened in surprise as he took in the sight of his daughter standing there. "Buffy?" he exclaimed, a mixture of astonishment and joy crossing his face.

Tears welled up in Buffy's eyes as she nodded, her voice catching in her throat. "Hi, Dad."

Halliwell Manor

Paige's footsteps echoed through the silent house as she continued her determined search. Her face was etched with determination and frustration as she called out, "I know you're here. I'll find you."

Suddenly, she jumped at an imagined noise, her reflexes taking over as she spun around and sent a powerful beam of energy at the mirror above the fireplace. The glass shattered into a thousand pieces, scattering across the room.

Paige surveyed the room slowly, her eyes scanning the photographs that adorned the walls. She saw pictures of her, her sisters and her nieces; Prue with Faith, Piper with Leo, Faith with Buffy, and others that captured cherished memories. However, her gaze landed on one particular photo—Phoebe and Cole, their smiling faces frozen in time.

Her eyes narrowed, suspicion and anger rising within her. Without hesitation, Paige unleashed another blast, obliterating the photo frame and reducing the image of Phoebe and Cole to ashes.

Cruise Ship

Willow and Tara stood at the railing of the luxurious cruise ship, gazing out at the endless expanse of the ocean before them. The sun cast a warm, golden hue across the water, creating a shimmering pathway that seemed to lead to infinity.

Tara wrapped her arms around Willow from behind, resting her head on Willow's shoulder. "This is incredible," she whispered, her voice filled with awe.

Willow smiled and leaned back into Tara's embrace. "I can't believe we're here," she replied, her fingers entwining with Tara's. "No demons, no prophecies, just us and the open sea."

The gentle breeze tousled their hair as they continued to watch the horizon. The cruise ship glided smoothly through the water, its rhythmic motion creating a sense of serenity and escape.

Summers Villa, Madrid, Spain

Buffy and Faith sat nervously on the plush couch in Hank's living room, their hands tightly intertwined. It had taken a lot of courage for Buffy to initiate this conversation, and now they both faced Hank with a mixture of apprehension and hope.

Hank, seated across from them, regarded his daughter with a curious expression. "Buffy, what's going on? You said this was important."

Taking a deep breath, Buffy looked into Hank's eyes. "Dad, there's something Faith and I need to tell you." She paused, exchanging a reassuring glance with Faith.

Faith nodded, offering Hank a warm yet anxious smile. "Yeah, Mr. Summers, it's... it's big news."

Hank's curiosity deepened, his gaze shifting between the two women. "Alright, I'm listening. What is it?"

Buffy took another breath, her voice steady. "Dad, Faith and I... we're married." She watched her father's reaction closely, the weight of her confession settling in the room.

Hank's eyes widened, and he blinked in surprise. "Married? When did this happen?"

Faith spoke up, her tone gentle. "It's been a while, actually. We didn't want to rush into telling you, but we felt it was time."

Hank processed the information, his surprise slowly giving way to a more thoughtful expression. "Well, I... I can't say I saw this coming, but if you're happy, that's what matters most."

Buffy smiled, grateful for her father's understanding. "Thank you, Dad. That means a lot to us."

Faith then took a deep breath, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and apprehension. "There's more, though, Mr. Summers. Buffy and I are expecting a baby. Your granddaughter."

Hank's eyes widened once more, this time with a mix of astonishment and joy. "A baby? My granddaughter? That's... that's incredible!" He leaned forward; his excitement palpable. "Congratulations, both of you."

Buffy and Faith exchanged relieved smiles, feeling the weight of their secrets lifted. Buffy's father had reacted better than they could have hoped for, and they were grateful for his support.

Hank leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "I may not have seen this coming, but I'm happy for you both. And I promise to be the best grandfather I can be to your daughter."

Tears of happiness welled up in Buffy's eyes as she reached for Faith's hand. "Thank you, Dad. That means the world to us. That said there is one more reveal that goes kind of hand in hand with how our daughter is well our daughter. And there is no easy way to tell you." She took a deep breath and disappeared in a swirl of fiery flames.

Hank's eyes widened in astonishment as he watched his daughter disappear in a swirl of fiery flames. Faith, still seated across from him, looked equally surprised and concerned.

Moments later, Buffy reappeared, her expression resolute. "Dad, I need you to understand this. I didn't mean to shock you, but there's something more we have to reveal." She took another deep breath and continued, "I have powers, Dad. I'm a Slayer as well as a witch and a Whitelighter."

Hank's eyes darted between Buffy and Faith, trying to process the revelation. "Powers? What does that mean?"

Faith chimed in, her voice gentle yet filled with conviction. "It means Buffy and I both have has extraordinary strength and abilities. Buffy's been fighting demons and vampires since she was a teenager. Our daughter's heritage is... complicated."

Hank took a moment to absorb this new information, his expression a mixture of surprise and concern. "So, our granddaughter will have these... powers too?"

Buffy nodded solemnly. "Yes, Dad. She'll not only be the first girl born of two Slayers but she will inherit the powers of two different coven of witches. I'm descended from the Spellman line of witches, Faith is descended from the Warren line of witches."

Hank leaned back in his chair, his mind racing as he tried to comprehend the enormity of what he had just learned. "This is a lot to take in, Buffy."

Buffy reached out and took her father's hand, her eyes filled with earnestness. "I know, Dad. But we wanted to be honest with you. Our family is unique, and we're determined to keep our daughter safe and ensure she has a happy life."

Hank squeezed Buffy's hand, a mixture of emotions crossing his face. "I may not fully understand all of this, but I trust you, Buffy. I trust both of you to do what's best for our family. That's all that matters to me."

Cruise Ship

As the cruise ship sailed under the starlit sky, Willow and Tara enjoyed a romantic dinner on the open deck. The soft glow of the moon illuminated the tables adorned with candles, casting a warm and intimate atmosphere.

Willow and Tara clinked their glasses, toasting to their love and the adventure ahead. They savored each bite of their delicious meal, occasionally stealing glances and sharing affectionate smiles. The sound of the ocean waves gently lapping against the ship provided a soothing backdrop to their evening.

They reminisced about their journey together, from their first meeting to the challenges they had faced and overcome. Willow reached across the table to take Tara's hand, their fingers interlocking in a silent expression of love and connection.

The Mark Hopkins Hotel

"I love you," Phoebe whispered tenderly to Cole, her eyes brimming with affection, as she sat cross-legged on the bed, a tray of succulent strawberries and rich chocolate at her side. Her attire, a seductive black teddy, added an alluring touch to the intimate moment.

"I had a feeling," Cole replied with a warm chuckle, his eyes locked onto Phoebe's, their connection unbreakable.

Phoebe shook her head with a solemn playfulness, her eyes dancing mischievously. "Oh, and here I thought all this time I was being so subtle," she teased, her voice laced with a hint of desire.

Suddenly, the room's tranquility was shattered as Paige abruptly orbed into their hotel room, her eyes wild and frantic. Phoebe's heart skipped a beat as she took in her sister's crazed expression.

"Oh my god, Paige!" Phoebe exclaimed, her voice laced with concern as she realized something was terribly wrong. Panic surged through her as Paige raised her hand, readying a deadly beam to strike at Cole.

"AH!" Cole yelped in fear, his reflexes kicking in just in time as he narrowly dodged the deadly attack.

Phoebe gasped, her eyes wide with horror. "The power brokers got to her," she cried out, her voice tinged with desperation. She smacked Cole's arm urgently, her emotions running high. "There's a potion in my purse," she instructed him, her voice trembling with fear as she slid off the bed.

"He's evil," Paige growled, her eyes filled with a darkness that sent shivers down Phoebe's spine.

"Paige, don't do this," Phoebe pleaded, her voice laced with desperation as she stepped bravely in front of her sister. Her love for Paige was unwavering, and she was determined to save her from the malevolent influence that threatened to consume her.

Cole swiftly scooped the potion from Phoebe's purse, his eyes locked onto Paige, who had turned to face him with a sinister determination. But Phoebe, ever protective of her family, wasn't going to let anything happen to her loved ones. With a swift motion, she kicked Paige's arm, sending her crashing against a nearby chair.

In a strategic move, Cole intentionally dropped the potion while Phoebe's attention was diverted, Paige sending a blast at him seconds later.

Phoebe, on high alert, lunged toward Paige, her heart aching at the sight of her sister under the control of dark forces. She grabbed Paige's arm and twisted it behind her back, simultaneously restraining her other arm. The struggle was fierce as Paige thrashed about in her sister's hold.

"He's evil," Paige insisted, her voice filled with a mixture of anguish and determination, as Cole regained his footing, uncertainty clouding his eyes. "I have to stop him," she declared.

"LEO! LEO!" Phoebe's urgent cry echoed through the room, and in a flurry of blue and white orbing lights, Leo and Piper materialized.

"This better be… good," Piper trailed off, her initial irritation giving way to shock as she laid eyes on the struggling Paige, held firmly in Phoebe's grip.

"Look at her eyes," Leo pointed out with a grave tone, his gaze fixated on Paige's now pitch-black eyes, a telltale sign of the darkness that had taken hold of her.

Piper wasted no time, her protective instincts kicking in. She swiftly walked to the nearby table, snatching up a candlestick and, with a resolute swing, whacked Paige over the head. The blow knocked Paige to the ground, rendering her unconscious.

"Go get Faith and Buffy!" Piper ordered her husband, who instantly orbed out.

Phoebe stood there, her eyes wide with astonishment and concern, trying to process the whirlwind of events unfolding before her. "OH-kay, Piper. What—?" she began, her voice trembling.

"What?" Piper shrugged; her demeanor unapologetic. "This is what Whitelighters are for," she defended herself, a mix of determination and anxiety in her eyes. Her words were a reminder of the sacrifices and responsibilities that came with their supernatural roles.

Moments later, Leo orbed back in, accompanied by a robe-clad Buffy and Faith.

"Leo, heal her head," Piper ordered, her voice firm, as she gently placed the candlestick down, now that the immediate threat had been neutralized.

Buffy looked at Piper, her eyebrows arching inquisitively. "Did you do that?" she asked, a mixture of surprise and admiration in her expression.

Piper nodded with a sweet smile, her pride showing through. "Yeah," she confirmed, her determination to protect her family shining brightly.

Phoebe couldn't resist injecting a bit of humor into the intense situation. She wiggled her eyebrows mischievously at Faith and Buffy, her gaze playfully traveling over their robes. "Nice robes," she remarked teasingly. "You two got anything on under those?"

Faith smirked in response, her playful banter adding a touch of levity to the room. "Not anymore. Nice teddy, Aunt Phoebe," she teased back, and Phoebe couldn't help but giggle.

Piper, however, swiftly brought the focus back to the urgent matter at hand. "Where's the potion?" she demanded, turning to Phoebe with a sense of urgency in her voice.

"It's broken," Cole informed them, his finger pointing to the unfortunate puddle of spilled potion on the carpet, his expression filled with regret.

"Oh! Okay," Piper acknowledged, her eyes narrowing as she assessed the situation. She quickly reached for her flower necklace and began to pull it off. "Well, there's more at the Manor," she assured the group, trying to maintain a sense of hope.

Faith, however, interjected with a somber tone. "No, there's not," she stated grimly, her words hanging heavy in the air.

"What?" Phoebe frowned, her brows furrowing in confusion as she looked between Faith and Piper.

"I broke it when I fainted," Faith admitted, her voice tinged with regret, causing her aunts and her wife to flinch at the revelation.

Buffy's concern for Faith was evident as she scrutinized her wife with a worried expression. "Faith, you fainted?" she inquired, her voice laced with both concern and curiosity.

"I was going to tell you, Buffy," Faith said apologetically, her regret palpable in her voice.

"Oh, now!" Piper exclaimed, her voice filled with urgency, as she handed Phoebe a white robe similar to the ones worn by Faith and Buffy. "What are we gonna do? That potion took forever to make. She could die if we have to make more."

Phoebe's incredulous expression mirrored the collective bewilderment in the room. "How did we not notice?" she asked, her voice tinged with frustration and disbelief.

Panic began to set in, and Faith couldn't hold back her own sense of dread. "Oh shit," she muttered, her eyes squeezing shut momentarily.

"What, what?" Piper demanded, her own panic rising as she looked to Faith for answers.

Faith lowered her hand from her face, her eyes wide with realization. "P was acting weird at the house," she informed them, her voice trembling with guilt. "Confused and frightened, and she didn't want to be left alone with Uncle Cole. That's why I stayed," she explained, her words causing Cole to nod in agreement.

Suddenly, Faith gasped, one hand moving to cover her mouth. "How could it not occur to me that she could be infected? Oh god! This is all my fault."

Piper stepped in, her voice firm and reassuring as she wrapped an arm around Faith's shoulders. "No, no, it's not your fault," she asserted, determined to quell the self-blame and rally their spirits. "It's no one's fault. We'll fix this," she declared, her words a beacon of hope in the face of a dire situation.

Phoebe's heart raced as she bent down next to Paige, her trembling hand touching the back of Paige's neck. Her eyes widened in alarm as she felt the heat radiating from her sister's skin. "Leo, she's burning up!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with panic.

Leo, equally concerned, gazed down at Paige, his powers failing to provide the healing relief they desperately needed. "I tried to heal her, I can't," he admitted, his frustration and helplessness evident in his expression.

Piper's distress reached a fever pitch, tears welling up in her eyes as she turned to Leo, her voice shrill with desperation. "Well, what, what are we supposed to do!" she demanded, her anguish palpable. "Just stand here and watch her die!"

Faith, her own tears streaming down her face, whimpered softly as she leaned into Buffy's comforting embrace. Buffy ran her hand soothingly through Faith's hair, offering her love and support in the midst of the crisis.

Phoebe's world seemed to shatter around her as the weight of the situation pressed down on her shoulders. She shook her head violently, her gaze fixed on Paige, her vision blurred by tears. "No, no, no, no," she repeated in a frantic chant, her voice filled with anguish. "This can't, this can't be happening!" Her sobs grew louder, her heartache echoing through the room. "Not again, no! I cannot watch another sister die!" she sobbed, her emotions raw and overwhelming.

In the midst of the overwhelming despair that hung heavy in the room, Buffy and Piper shared a moment of silent understanding. Their eyes met, and a few tears escaped, a silent plea for comfort in a time of desperate need.

Piper shook her head, her own tears falling freely now as she swiped at them with trembling hands. She turned to Leo, her voice filled with desperation as she sought any solution to save her older sister. "Leo?" she pleaded, her gaze never leaving Paige, but her husband's powers remained powerless in the face of the dark force consuming Paige.

Phoebe, her eyes filled with pain and fear, locked onto Cole's gaze, her silent plea reflecting the depths of her anguish. Cole's heart ached as he met her gaze, a shared understanding of the dire situation they were in.

"There is a way," Cole announced reluctantly, his voice heavy with the gravity of their predicament. "We need to find a power broker to pull it out of her."

Piper's frustration and grief erupted as she lashed out in despair. "I blew him up!" she exclaimed, her voice thick with tears, recalling the violent confrontation with the power broker.

Cole, undeterred, offered a glimmer of hope. "There are others," he informed them, his voice resolute. "You'll have to orb me underground," he added, picking up his shirt.

"We're all gonna go," Phoebe insisted, her determination unwavering as she countered Cole's objection.

Cole shook his head, pulling on his shirt, his face etched with worry. "No, it's too dangerous," he protested. "You never know what kind of powers they might have, and besides, your powers might not work too well down there."

Phoebe couldn't hold back her frustration and disbelief, brushing away her tears. "Cole, you don't have any powers!" she exclaimed, emphasizing the point that he would be at a significant disadvantage in this mission.

Piper, however, was resolute in her decision. "Cole, there's no time to argue; we're going," she declared firmly, unwilling to let her sister's life hang in the balance.

Phoebe jumped to her feet, gathering the scattered items of clothing in preparation for their journey. Buffy, ever efficient, took charge as well. "I'll go get our clothes," she told Faith before disappearing in a swirl of fiery flames.

As the urgency of their mission weighed heavily upon them, Phoebe couldn't help but consider her niece. "Should we get Willow?" she wondered aloud.

Piper, her heart heavy with the weight of the situation, thought long and hard about the potential consequences of their mission. She couldn't bring herself to disrupt her daughter's happiness unless it was absolutely necessary. Her voice trembled as she finally responded, "No." Her words carried a profound sadness. "Let her have a little longer to be happy, just in case," she added, her maternal instinct prioritizing Willow's peace of mind amidst the impending crisis.

The Underworld

"So… I'll give you an energy ball for… a lightning bolt," one broker demon proposed.

"For the fire bolts…" another broker demon chimed in, their voices hushed as they conducted their clandestine trades.

Leo and Cole observed the table of broker demons from a concealed position, curiosity and tension filling the air.

"What are they doing?" Leo whispered, his gaze fixed on the ongoing negotiations.

Cole responded quietly, his knowledge of the demonic world coming in handy. "Trading powers," he explained succinctly, shedding light on the mysterious exchange taking place.

Leo's brow furrowed as he processed the information. "So, what do we do?" he asked, his gaze returning to Cole for guidance.

Faith, however, took charge and answered the question herself. "We barge in," she declared with determination. She turned to the others, her voice firm. "Get Aunt Paige," she ordered, her eyes locked onto Buffy and Phoebe, who were now fully clothed and ready for action.

Piper walked beside Phoebe, her hands poised for action, her resolve unyielding. "Sorry to interrupt," she began, her voice laced with sarcasm, "but I think one of you may have misplaced a power," she quipped, her words a sharp contrast to the dangerous situation they were about to confront.

"I'll get Paige, you get ready to orb Piper and Phoebe out of here, and make sure Buffy is ready to flame Faith out," Cole murmured to Leo, their plan clear.

Leo nodded, taking his role seriously as he prepared to execute their escape plan. The urgency of the situation pressed on them as they readied themselves for the confrontation with the broker demons.

"Who are you?" the demon at the head of the table demanded, rising to his feet.

Faith, never one to back down, responded with a snarky edge to her voice. "Well, I am the former heir of the Source," she declared, her confidence radiating as she addressed the demon. "And my wife is a fellow Slayer, and my aunts are the Charmed Ones."

Piper chimed in, her voice filled with anger and frustration. "And one of you jackasses infected our sister!" she accused, motioning between herself and Phoebe. "And their aunt," she added, nodding towards Faith and Buffy, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.

Phoebe leaned into Faith and Buffy, her voice trembling with anxiety. "It's gonna be pretty hard to tell which jackass, though, huh?" she pointed out, her observation reflecting the challenging situation they were facing. After all, every demon at the table looked exactly the same.

"Not necessarily," Buffy replied. With her no-nonsense attitude, she addressed the demon in charge with a commanding tone. "Here's the deal," she declared, her words carrying the weight of their ultimatum. "We'll spare your lives if one of you pulls your skanky power out of her," she ordered, her gaze fixed firmly on the demon, as Cole entered with Paige, setting her down in front of her, Piper, Phoebe, and Faith.

The demon's smirk grew wider as he directed his attention toward Faith. "Your power as the Source's heir was diminished when your aunts vanquished the Source. I wouldn't even rank you as an upper-level demon now," he taunted, attempting to undermine Faith's authority. He then looked at Piper and Phoebe. "The power of the Charmed Ones lies in the Power of Three. You're one witch down."

"Uh..." Piper narrowed her eyes, "You sure you want to test that theory?"

The demon raised his hand and shot a bolt of lightning towards them just as Buffy swiped her arm telekinetically diverting the attack away from them.

Piper, feeling triumphant, delivered the final blow with a flick of her wrists. "Too bad," she remarked, her voice filled with satisfaction. "You lose."

The demon groaned, stumbling backward but ultimately remaining unharmed, a testament to the challenges they faced in the demon realm.

The demon groaned, stumbling backward from the attack, but his resilience remained unbroken. The limitations of their powers in the demon realm became painfully apparent.

Cole muttered quietly to Piper, reminding her of the challenges they faced, "I told you about your powers down here."

Faith was quick to assert her own unique position in this situation. "Aunt Piper's may not," Faith chimed in confidently, "but mine shouldn't be affected since they're of demonic origin."

"Let's get out of here." Leo suggested but his words went unnoticed amidst the ongoing confrontation.

Piper, not one to back down, issued a final warning to the demon, her voice resolute. "Keep in mind," she declared, "that was just a warning. Next time, I'll use full force."

As the confrontation continued, another demon, perhaps underestimating the Halliwell family, stepped forward and launched an energy ball at Faith. However, Buffy's quick telekinetic intervention deflected the deadly projectile away from her wife. In retaliation, Faith extended her hand, summoning a fireball that she sent hurtling towards the offending demon, vanquishing him in a burst of flames.

Suddenly, the atmosphere in the room shifted drastically as all the remaining demons dropped to their knees, their heads bowed in submission. They collectively pleaded, "Forgive us. We'll do whatever you ask."

One of the demons dared to raise his head, looking past the Halliwells to where Cole stood, his eyes blackened by his demonic side. Phoebe followed the demon's gaze, her curiosity piqued, and Cole, who quickly averted his gaze, causing his eyes to return to normal.

The head demon's voice thundered through the dark, fiery chamber, his eyes aflame with rage. "What the hell are you doing?" he demanded of the other demons, his words dripping with anger and frustration. But before he could finish his sentence, a sudden explosion of dark energy consumed him, reducing him to ashes in a blaze of fiery torment.

Faith, her eyes filled with determination, gestured towards Paige, her tone laced with urgency. "What the hell are you waiting for?" she snapped at the broker demons. They moved swiftly, their cold, bony fingers hovering menacingly above Paige, their eyes glowing with malevolence as they began to extract the radiant light ball from her trembling form.

Paige stirred, her consciousness slowly returning as Piper and Phoebe gently pulled her up, enveloping her in a protective embrace. Faith and Buffy stood mixture of fear and resolve, kept their powers at the ready, ready to unleash their formidable force if needed.

"Where am I?" Paige's voice quivered, her eyes wide with confusion and fear as she struggled to make sense of her surroundings.

"You're gonna be okay, sweetie," Phoebe whispered soothingly, her voice filled with warmth and tenderness as she stroked Paige's hair, offering her sister comfort and reassurance.

"Now can we get out of here?" Leo's voice was firm, his eyes scanning their perilous surroundings as he urged them to leave this infernal place behind.

"Wait." Piper stopped Leo as she flicked her wrists as the light ball in the demon's hand exploding it and the others in the room. "HA!" She smirked, "Had enough power to do that." she quipped as they made their way out again for Leo to orb them home.

With the room now in chaos, they wasted no time. Leo quickly prepared to orb them out of this nightmarish realm, his expression filled with relief at Piper's display of power.

Meanwhile, Cole lingered behind, his dark eyes fixated on the remaining demons. He brought a finger to his lips, urging them to silence with a hushed, "Shh."

The demons exchanged uneasy glances; their fear palpable. When Cole's eyes had gone black, they realized he was the Source, and that meant Faith was still his chosen heir. The demons understood the consequences of challenging such power. They dared not move against either of them, frozen by the realization that their lives depended on their compliance.

Cole stood alone in his dimly lit chambers, the weight of his actions bearing down on him as he absentmindedly twisted his wedding band around and around on his finger. His conflicted emotions churned within him, a storm of doubts and regrets.

The Seer, her presence shrouded in an aura of mystery, entered the chamber with a questioning gaze. Her voice was laced with curiosity and a hint of concern as she confronted him, "Why would you save Paige after everything you did to destroy her?"

Cole's response was measured and calculated, delivered with a hint of cynicism. "They would have found a way to save her anyway," he reasoned, his eyes betraying his inner turmoil. "This way, I get the credit."

The Seer's next question hung in the air like a haunting echo, laden with a profound sense of foreboding. "Did you do it for credit? Or love?" she inquired, her voice trembling with apprehension. Deep down, she feared she already knew the answer, but she needed to hear it from him.

Cole's gaze hardened, and a darkness flickered in his eyes as he issued a stern warning, "Careful."

The Seer, undaunted by his veiled threat, fired back with a steely resolve, "I am, but are you?" Her words cut through the tension like a dagger. "We have worked too hard to let a nugget of humanity destroy a legacy of evil."

Cole remained eerily calm as he revealed his calculated moves. "Paige has no memory. And I have erased Faith's memory of her conversation with Paige," he stated with a measured tone, his gaze steady. "Paige's not a threat to us anymore. And Faith will now trust me, as I erased another memory of a conversation with Prue, where Prue asked her and Buffy to protect their family from me."

The Seer, however, made it clear that she wasn't referring to Paige or Faith. She corrected him firmly, her voice carrying an air of caution, "I'm not talking about them, I'm talking about Cole. He's the one threat neither one of us can control. He saved Paige, not you."

Cole's confidence seemed unshaken as he responded, "I'm not concerned." Yet, even as he spoke those words, doubt gnawed at the edges of his resolve. "There will be nothing he can do once Phoebe's pregnant," he added with a sense of certainty, his eyes narrowing as he turned to face the Seer.

He pressed her for answers, his patience waning, "Is she? And is Faith now on the path of her destiny as my chosen heir?" His raised eyebrows and unwavering gaze demanded a response.

The Seer's eyes misted over as she delved into the depths of her visions, and Cole's anticipation grew palpable. "Well?" he pressed, unable to hide his impatience.

Finally, the Seer's eyes returned to their normal state, and she delivered her cryptic verdict, "I see conflicting futures for both of them. Only time will tell."

Paige let out an exasperated sigh as she returned to their chosen booth for the evening, setting down her drink before taking a seat next to Faith. Her face carried a mixture of regret and embarrassment as she muttered, "I can't believe I destroyed the house."

But Phoebe, always ready for a playful tease, couldn't resist poking fun at the situation. She leaned in and informed Paige with a mischievous grin, "What I can't believe is what you almost saw in that hotel room. If you had gotten there five minutes earlier..." Her voice trailed off as she chuckled, shaking her head at the thought.

Piper, seated across from them, quickly interjected, attempting to shield herself from an overshare, "La! La! La! La! Over sharing!" She closed her eyes and waved her hands in front of her face as if to physically block out any more details.

Faith, however, wasn't one to be deterred so easily. She turned her gaze towards Piper and remarked with a sly grin, "If you think that's oversharing, then clearly you haven't spoken to Uncle Leo."

Piper's frown deepened, clearly intrigued and a tad concerned. She inquired, "Why? What happened?"

Faith's innocent smile masked a hint of mischief as she replied, "I think Uncle Leo may have seen a little too much of both me and Buffy when he came to get me us. I'm talking full-on frontal nudity."

"Oh-oh my god." Phoebe chuckled loudly, her shoulders shaking while Piper blanched.

"Oh, poor Leo." Paige sympathized shaking her head and laughing with Phoebe.

Piper's maternal instincts kicked in as she turned her critical eyes on her niece, her voice gentle and filled with concern. Her gaze briefly flickered towards Faith's stomach, recognizing the unique challenges and uncertainties they faced. It was a rare moment of solitude with Faith, without any other distractions pulling their attention away.

"How are you doing?" Piper asked with a soft, caring tone. She knew that being a mother came with its own set of challenges, especially when you were a witch with a destiny. She wanted to make sure Faith was coping well.

Faith sighed, her vulnerability showing as she confessed, "Thanks to Joyce, I know I will be a great mom." Her eyes reflected a mixture of gratitude and uncertainty. "But, it's the witch stuff. I was already more powerful than you guys simply because of being the daughter of a Charmed One. Couple that with the fact that when Prudence was conceived, I was still the Source's heir. Which means, technically, Prudence could be considered half-demon, which means she could get powers from that like I did. Then there's the fact she's the daughter of two Slayers. She could be more powerful than any of us think, and that scares me."

Piper didn't hesitate to move closer, changing seats to be by Faith's side. She took her niece's hand in hers, offering reassurance and comfort. "Oh, honey," she sighed, her heart heavy with shared worry. "Believe it or not, we're kind of afraid of that too. I'm worried we won't be able to protect her. I mean, the last baby we had was you, and that was before you became the Source's heir. So we're in new territory all the way around."

Fear welled up in Faith's eyes, and she couldn't hold back the tears. She voiced her deepest concerns, her voice quivering with emotion. "What if something happens to her because Buffy and I are not strong enough to protect her? What if Buffy and I lose her? Or, or what if they take her?" Her panic was palpable as she glanced towards the floor, signaling the ominous "they" she feared.

Paige's determination shone through as she offered her solemn promise, "We won't let that happen. Not while we're still breathing, I promise you."

Faith managed a watery smile, one hand resting on her stomach as she stared at the rings on Piper's hand. Her voice was barely a whisper as she admitted her deepest longing, "I wish Buffy was here." Her quiet sniffles filled the air, a testament to the depth of her emotions and the uncertainty of the future they all faced together.

Piper wiped a tear from Faith's cheek and nodded, her maternal instincts still in full force as she listened to her niece's words. Concern for Buffy's absence was etched on her face as she asked, "Where is Buffy anyways?"

Faith's voice held a hint of sadness as she explained, "She went back to Madrid, to spend a little more time with her dad." She hesitated for a moment before continuing, "In fact, Aunt Piper, she had a suggestion she wanted me to ask. She wanted to know if you would be willing to switch honeymoons. After what happened to Aunt Paige, I think she wants to spend time with Tara. I think she's afraid Tara will die just like her sister Celia. I think Buffy is afraid she will lose both of her cousins to evil."

Piper considered Buffy's request thoughtfully. She understood the weight of Buffy's fears and the desire to be close to family in times of uncertainty. After a moment of reflection, she smiled warmly at Faith and said, "Sure. You and Buffy can have our reservations in Hawaii, and we'll take yours in Madrid."

Phoebe's eyes widened in surprise as she spotted Karen, her arm waving enthusiastically to catch the woman's attention. Her voice carried a tone of pleasant surprise as she called out, "Hey, Karen!" She stood up to greet her, a smile forming on her face.

Karen returned Phoebe's greeting with a warm smile of her own, her eyes twinkling with recognition. "Oh, I hoped I'd find you and your blonde friend here," she replied.

Phoebe couldn't help but chuckle as she clarified, "You mean Buffy?"

Karen's response was rather nonchalant as she shrugged, "Was that her name?"

Back at their table, Paige turned to Faith and Piper with a curious expression. "Do we know her?" she asked, clearly unaware of the connection.

Piper, her amusement evident, replied with a playful tease, "Wow! Your memory really is shot."

Karen's raised eyebrows conveyed her bemusement as she addressed Phoebe, recalling a particular piece of advice. "Uh… either you or Buffy told fearful Marin to get a dog," she stated, her tone curious.

Phoebe, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment, confirmed her involvement with a sheepish nod. "That one was me. And, I know," she admitted, her voice tinged with regret. "I know, it just—It seemed right at the time, you know." She tried to justify her advice, wanting Karen to understand her perspective. "So she wouldn't have to—"

Karen, however, cut her off with a blunt response, "I would have told her to get a therapist and get a life."

Piper couldn't resist a triumphant smile as she chimed in, "See! This is what I said." She nodded as if to say, 'I told you so.'

Paige turned to Faith, seeking her opinion, but Faith responded with a nonchalant shrug.

Karen's gaze shifted from Phoebe to Piper, and she delivered her verdict with a hint of dry humor, "Hers was better."

Phoebe's frown slowly transformed into a bright smile as she listened to Karen's praise. Her head tilted in curiosity as she processed the unexpected compliment. "Wow, really?" she exclaimed, genuinely surprised and touched.

Karen's smile remained genuine as she continued to heap on the praise, "Yeah. It was proactive, it was non-judgmental. The whole column had a freshness and a passion that it hasn't had for a really long time. In fact, Elise is printing both yours and Buffy's articles, a first, I think. Two advice columns in one paper."

Phoebe's smile broadened, and she couldn't help but feel flattered by Karen's words. She replied with gratitude, "Thank you. And I will pass along the news."

Karen, however, had a mischievous glint in her eyes as she revealed her plan, "And I'm gonna tell Elise that you and Buffy wrote them."

Phoebe's expression quickly shifted to one of concern as she protested, "Oh no, Karen, don't do that. I mean she'll… fire you then."

Karen laughed heartily, dismissing Phoebe's worries. "And my guess is she'll hire the both of you. If you two think you can handle working for that witch."

Piper shrugged, her expression still somewhat skeptical. "Hm… I thought of her more as a demon."

Karen, however, remained resolute in her dislike for Elise. She admitted with firm conviction, "Well, either way, I hate her. And even though I'm not sure what happened today, I just feel like I want to spend more time at home, with my kid."

Phoebe smiled at Karen's decision, a sense of satisfaction washing over her. She exchanged a knowing smirk with Faith, then turned her attention back to Karen.

Karen's sincerity shone through as she expressed her gratitude, her words filled with genuine appreciation. "So, I wanted to tell you and Buffy thanks," she said sincerely. "For everything."

Phoebe couldn't help but sigh with warmth as Karen walked away. "Aw," she remarked, touched by the unexpected sentiment. "That was very sweet."

Faith, however, had a more pressing question on her mind. She leaned forward in her chair, calling out to her aunt, "Um… Aunt Phoebe?" When Phoebe turned her way, slumping on the couch next to Piper, Faith posed the question that had been lingering in her mind, "Did you and Buffy just get jobs?"

Phoebe couldn't help but laugh at Faith's question, shaking her head with amusement. "No, we didn't. I mean we can't," she replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty. But then a realization seemed to dawn on her, and her eyebrows shot up as she added, "Can we?"

Piper, with an eye roll and a touch of exasperation, pointed out the obvious, "Phoebe, somebody's going to pay you and Buffy to tell other people what to do. Shut up and be happy." She raised her glass and offered a toast, "To Phoebe and Buffy! May they never give any lethal advice."

Faith interjected with a valid point, "Assuming Buffy accepts that is. After all, that kind of job is full-time and—"

Piper finished her niece's sentence, understanding the dilemma, "And she's still in college."

Paige, always the one to bring the family together, raised her glass in a toast as well, "And to Faith and Piper. May you actually get to go on your honeymoons tomorrow."

Phoebe, feeling the weight of her past actions, looked down with a touch of guilt. She cleared her throat and offered a heartfelt toast of her own, "And to Paige—"

Paige, with a warm smile, quickly interjected, lightening the mood, "May I never try to kill you again."

Piper's smirk eased the tension as she quipped, "Oh, you're not really a Halliwell until you've gone demonic on your sisters at least twice." Her attempt at humor was met with a chuckle from the others, helping to lighten the mood.

Phoebe, however, couldn't let the matter rest. She spoke up quietly, her voice carrying a hint of seriousness, "Actually... She didn't go demonic on us... she went demonic on Cole."

Piper tried to defuse the situation, saying, "You say tomato, and I say—"

But Phoebe wasn't backing down. She continued to press her point, shedding light on the true source of Karen's demonic rage. "Karen already hated Elise," she pointed out, her words laced with a knowing tone. "That's why Elise became the object of Karen's demonic rage."

Phoebe then turned her attention to Paige, her expression unreadable. "Which also means that... you already hated Cole."

Piper watched the exchange nervously, sensing that a significant revelation was about to unfold.

Paige, however, shook her head, her honesty shining through. "No, I don't hate Cole, Phoebe," she stated quietly. "I just... don't trust him." Her admission hung in the air, her uncertainty and unease evident. "I don't know why I feel that way, I just... I don't. I'm sorry."

Phoebe's sharp exhale punctuated the heavy atmosphere in the room as she nodded in agreement. "Yeah," she acknowledged with a solemn expression. "So am I." Without looking back at Paige, she pushed out of her seat and walked away as fast as possible, her emotions clearly overwhelming her.

Piper exchanged a knowing look with Faith, both of them understanding the gravity of the situation. Piper wasted no time and headed straight in the direction that Phoebe had disappeared, determined to talk things out with her sister.

Meanwhile, Faith took a seat next to Paige, offering her aunt a reassuring presence. Paige, feeling the weight of guilt, sighed and looked down at her hands. "I feel horrible," she admitted, her voice filled with remorse. "Phoebe hates me."

Faith shook her head firmly, offering words of comfort and understanding. "No, Aunt Paige, Aunt Phoebe does not hate you," she assured Paige, her tone gentle but resolute. "She hates the situation."

March 2, 2002 – Saturday

Royal Kona Resort

The sun bathed the Hawaiian beach in a warm, golden glow, setting the perfect backdrop for a relaxing day in paradise. Buffy and Faith had set up their spot in the soft, inviting sand, ready to enjoy the serene beauty of the ocean. They were joined by Willow and Tara, who had eagerly embraced the idea of a day filled with fun and relaxation.

As the cousins chatted and savored the ocean breeze, the mischievous side of Faith began to stir. She couldn't help but notice a sandcastle competition unfolding nearby, with teams of people working diligently to craft intricate and impressive creations. The temptation proved too strong, and with a sly grin, Faith discreetly kicked down a sandcastle that was nearly complete, leaving a trail of destruction in her wake.

Buffy, Willow, and Tara, who had been deeply engrossed in their conversation, turned their attention to the commotion. Their expressions quickly shifted from surprise to concern as they realized the extent of Faith's mischief. Buffy's furrowed brow conveyed her disapproval, and her voice held a mix of disappointment and frustration as she questioned her wife's actions, "Faith, what on earth? Why would you do that?"

Faith, seemingly unfazed by the consequences of her actions, shrugged nonchalantly. "Just having a little fun, B. Lighten up," she retorted with a devil-may-care attitude.

Willow and Tara, drawn to the scene of the ruined sandcastle, approached with expressions that conveyed a blend of sympathy and disbelief. Willow's voice carried a note of disappointment as she addressed her cousin, "That was really uncalled for, Faith."

Tara nodded in agreement; her empathetic nature evident in her gaze. "We're all here to relax and have a good time, Faith. There's no need for this."

Buffy's concern deepened as she realized the implications of Faith's behavior. It wasn't just about the sandcastle; it was about the disregard for others' efforts and the potential for harm. Her voice held a note of genuine worry as she addressed her wife, "Faith, we're all here to have a good time, but that doesn't mean we can just do whatever we want without considering the consequences."

Underworld

In her hidden lair, the Seer's eyes shimmered with dark anticipation as she watched Faith through her powers of premonition. A sinister smile curled on her lips as she whispered to herself, "She is reclaiming her destiny. And soon, my dear Faith, you will usurp Cole and sit on the throne of the Underworld as its Queen, with Buffy as your consort and general."

The Seer's vision of a dark future was unfolding before her eyes, and she reveled in the power she believed she could shape. The destinies of Faith and Buffy were intricately tied to her plans, and she would stop at nothing to see her vision come to fruition.

Author's Notes: I did some research; a pregnant woman will not start showing between around 16 to 20 weeks up till the end of their second trimester and sometimes not until they're in their third trimester. At the time of this chapter Faith is in the early part of her second trimester. Around the 16 to 20 weeks range. So, it is possible she might not be showing yet.
