I am really excited about this for some reason, that's why I posted two chapters in a day!
For people who don't know, I am a nurse so I get to use medical terms. Though i am going to school to get my masters in Psych- so I get to add things from both worlds! Though I would like to point out that though i am a nurse, I am not giving any medical advice in this fic and please do not ask me about what medications you should be on. That should always be left up for a mental health care provider to decide. I also might as well point out that I'm bipolar and have really bad anxiety and that my depiction of this doesn't reflect my own or any one else's mental health.

A week into the investigation, Itachi was more than confused already.

Investigation showed that it was arson, that someone had deliberately tried to set the home on fire, and obviously succeeded.

None of the Kage's neighbors had seen anything that night seven days ago. No one even knew that they were home. The only thing anyone knew was that Naruto and his family were getting ready to go on their first vacation the day after the fire had happened.

Itachi couldn't think of who would want Naruto, Hinata and Boruto dead. He didn't even know the savior of the shinobi world had any enemies. Yes, if it were the previous Hokages, it would make sense but Naruto did whatever he could to help people, went out of his way even.

What was even more frustrating to Itachi was the elders had gotten together and began talking about who was going to take Naruto's position, to bring on an eighth Hokage. That had royally pissed off the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Hokages for obvious reasons. Mintao has tried to slow down the process, but the elders had more say over that. Someone from the counsel had already came to Itachi to see if he wanted the position. Itachi politely declined and went about the investigation, hoping to find out who did this.

He sat at his desk, going over the facts when the head of the medical sector came over to his building.

Itachi knew who Sakura was because of his brother. They had gone on a couple of secret dates when they were younger, but nothing like that has happened recently. Itachi wouldn't say it aloud but he respected her; Someone who came from literally nothing to surpass Tsunade was always right in his book. Though, being divorced from his brother and having a child together made Itachi bury whatever feelings he had for her and focus on work.

Sakura placed a folder on his desk and sighed. He looked up at her and saw that she had been crying recently, and for obvious reasons.

"You know, Haruno-sensei, you shouldn't be working on this case because of how close you are to the victims." He pointed out.

Sakura simply sniffled and rolled her eyes.

"Of course I'm going to help you with this, but we can talk about it later."

Itachi picked up the folder and began to read its contents. The more he read, the more he felt sick to his stomach. He looked up at Sakura, a little confused though he didn't show it. Sakura nodded her head and sighed.

"During the examination, it's been noted that both Hinata and Boruto had blunt force trauma to the head, stomach and neck. Naruto, on the other hand, Had his hands and feet tied. He somehow wasn't able to get free and was conscious when he died in the fire." She said, anger in her green eyes.

Itachi nodded his head and placed the folder on the desk in front of him.

"That is… unfortunate." He said, but Sakura knew that he was angered by that fact.

"I know you're going to want to go to Mintao-Sama and Kushina, but let me break the news to them. No offense, but you're not soft when it comes to these things. Besides, Kushina is not too happy with the counsel right now, though I can't make an opinion on what they're doing." Sakura's hand was in a fist at her side, noting that she indeed did have an opinion on what the counsel was doing.

Itachi smirked inwardly, liking how Sakura was still feisty as ever, before standing up.
"Then when you give the news, I want to be there." He said simply, knowing she wasn't going to go today.

Sakura nodded her head.

"I will allow that," She said with a saddened smile.

"Though, I might have a lead," Sakura commented, making Itachi perk up in his own little way.

The man motioned for Sakura to sit in front of him. She took the seat and grabbed the folder to bring a piece of paper out. It was labs that was drawn on Himawari. She handed it over to the Uchiha, who began to read it. He didn't understand the medical stuff, but what he saw was a shock.

"...An eight year old girl had tested for Benzos?" Itachi asked. Sakura nodded.

"We are still doing tests on everyone else, but how much do you want to bet they will have benzodiazepine in their system as well?"

Itachi was even more confused, wondering why Himawari would have drugs in her system in the first place. Sakura knew what he was thinking and spoke up.

"I did pull from their pharmacy records. Himawari and Boruto wasn't prescribed anything, but Hinata was on Xanax of all things. Who knew?" Sakura commented, pulling out the records from the folder, placing the Konoha's Board of Pharmacy papers showing when and where Hinata had picked it up."She was also prescribed things like Zyprexa and Hydroxyzine. Even Remeron, though that's just in her regular records, not the controlled records."

Itachi didn't understand the medical mumbo jumbo and motioned for Sakura to continue.

"I do not know what those medications are for." He stated simply.

Sakura looked at Itachi, a little annoyed because she thought he would know what those things were.

"Zyprexa is an anti-psychotic, usually used for bipolar disorder. Hydroxyzine is used to help people fall asleep and so does Remeron. So she was bipolar and had really bad anxiety. The anxiety makes sense but I never would have guessed she's bipolar." Sakura shrugged.

Itachi answered with a "hm" and began to think to himself.

"How long will it take for you guys to test the other three bodies?" Itachi asked."Well, we have to drug test the hair, but Shizune will be on that. So we should get something in about a few days to a week. Once we get the results, I'll come here and bring it to you." Sakura mentioned before standing up, making sure to brush the wrinkles out of her pants, the bracelets on her wrist jingling. Itachi had sted for a second too long and Sakura felt his gaze on her."There's one more question though," Sakura sighed."Who's going to be the one to tell Sasuke that his best friend is dead?" Sakura asked not knowing who should be the one to tell the best friend of this group.

Itachi stood up.

"I should be the one to tell him. No offense, but you and him have been strained the past couple of years since he lost custody to Sarada. Besides, You should be with her anyway. I know what it's like to lose a best friend at a young age." Itachi said, referring to the long gone Shisui. The idea that he was gone still hurts him 20 years later.

Sakura nodded her head.

"Well, if you need help telling Sasuke, then I don't mind helping. Just call for me if you need me, okay?"

Itachi nodded his head in thanks.

"Sasuke is going to be home this weekend. I'll tell him then. If you would like to be there, you know where we live." Itachi said.

"If there's nothing else, then I'm going to get back to work. Thank you for your help and good work," He complimented Sakura, a blush appearing faintly on her cheeks.

"Th–Thank you," She said as Itachi left his office.

The next person he had to talk to wasn't going to take the news too well.

Kudos...kudos... I love them soooo!
