The next morning, Flitwick handed them their schedules. The boy who shared Harry's messy black hair issue was seen talking to Snape. "That's my brother." Praxis pointed to the boy.

Snape eyed the table, his prefect was pointing to. "You want to sit with your brother?" "You gave schedules out already, sir." "Very well." Snape sighed. "So much for Slytherin pride." Ignoring Snape's remarks, Renard sat at the Ravenclaw table. "Snape let me sit here even though it's the first day of classes. How's Hogwarts, Leon?" He rubbed the former's hair. "It's beautiful. I love it. And I already have two friends." He bumped into Harry and Noah. Harry supposed he'd have to get used to physicality if he was going to hang out with Leon. "I'm Praxis Renard. You can call me Renard. And you are." Renard kept it quiet that he saw Potter's scar. It wasn't respectful to point that out. "Harry Potter." "Noah Thompsan." Renard kept his surprise hidden. A muggleborn, there certainly aren't any Thompsans in the wizard world. He opted to keep his hand to his side. It's not like he was prejudiced against muggleborns, he was just wary of muggles' acceptance of magic. What if the witch hunts happen again? "How'd your parents react?" "Badly." Noah sighed. "They said I was a disgrace to the family. Nearly threw me out. Probably would've if McGonagall wasn't there." Harry looked unamused, "They really need to stop trusting those cold hearted bitches. My aunt and uncle starved and beat me for magic." "But that means you're healthy!" Renard gasped. "That is the problem according to muggles. They shouldn't be near magic."

Renard nodded, what he thought then. He was glad he was pureblooded. Him and his brother would never have to deal with muggles. "It's time to head to class. You have herbology with the Slytherins. Malfoy is happy to share a class with Potter." He noticed Potter's smiling face, "And judging by Potter's face, he's happy about it too." Interesting, Renard thought. He decided to get to know Malfoy, if Harry Potter liked him. It spoke of good things. "Hey bro." Praxis spoke up, "They want a sibling who isn't a prat. Can you manage?" He smiled, "Of course, Harry and Noah." Anything for his brother. He winked, "And family lets bygones be bygones."

Snape noticed that display, not that he expected anything less from the boy. "I'll have to watch those four." Snape mused. Flitwick laughed, "You're being judgmental Severus. The only thing we need to worry about is prejudice." Albus looked at the students of the conversation, "Yes, muggle hating." Albus sighed. "I must have a conversation with the four." Snape thought he was losing his mind, did no one notice Praxis winking at his brother and friends? A Slytherin fine, but Ravenclaws? And Harry Potter? This was going to be a long year. At least the kid wasn't a dunderhead, so he will leave next year.

When entering Herbology, Harry took his friends to Malfoy. "Malfoy, these are Renard Praxis-" He heard a cough, "Potter, let me teach you introductions. If you could give me a hand Mr. Malfoy." "Sure." "First when acknowledging someone who is not friends to you or who you are introducing, you bow. Unless you're a girl." Draco and Praxis bowed at each other. "Now you do it by last name. I'll introduce myself for now, I'm Praxis Leon. This is Thompsan Noah and as you know Potter Harry." Draco nodded. "See how Mr. Malfoy nods, he is acknowledging that he heard me." "Thank you." "Anytime."

A pale brown hair, brown eyed girl eyed them, "Can you show how it is different for girls? I didn't get out much." "Something wrong with their parents, that one?" Harry had an idea of what. Before Harry could spit out his thoughts Praxis spoke, "Sure. Come here-" He read the nametag, "Ms. Moon." She stood in front of Praxis. "As a female, and I'm male, you will have a choice between nodding and putting your hand out." She stuck her hand out, "I'm Moon Lily." Praxis grabbed her hand and sat it palm up, "Hand like that Ms. Moon. Once you stuck it out, the male kisses it." "Umm, I think I'll nod." Draco laughed under his breath. "That's fair. The man will nod in return. Now let's partner up."

Draco sat with Harry. Praxis sat with Noah. And Lilly sat with Blaise. Blaise whispered something in her ear. Draco took Harry out of his watching when he whispered in his ear, "I need to talk to you later." "Okay."

Professor Sprout came in and was beaming to see a Slytherin and Ravenclaw sit together. "For your excellent behavior, 10 points to Ravenclaw and Slytherin. And 10 points to Harry and Draco for sitting together despite being in diffrent houses." She went up front, "Today, we are potting mandrakes."

Afterwards breaktime hit. Harry assured his friends he would be back, before meeting Draco. "Draco." Harry nodded. He was pleasantly surprised when Draco nodded back. "Do you get the vibe Moon is not a typical Slytherin?" "Help me out." Harry shrugged. He wondered if Draco thought the same thing he did. "That she may be..." Draco whispered in his ear, "Portraits talk. That she may be muggle... born." Harry nodded. "Yeah I do. If so, she needs protection." "I'll sit beside her when I can. You do the same. You don't know what Slytherin is capable of." "I have an idea." Harry shrugged, "They better hope they don't meet my wrath." Harry's scream alerted Snape to the boys. "Everything okay, Mr. Malfoy and Mr. Potter?" Is everyone in Slytherin trying to make horrible friends this year? Potter, really, well it goes with the cunning he guesses. No one would be friends with Potter on merit.

"We were discussing a student who may need protection, sir." Harry quipped. "Protection from you maybe." Snape remarked. "Depends on whether she wants my help, sir." "Goodbye Mr. Potter. Draco."

Draco and Harry went to the Ravenclaw table and sat with Harry's friends. "Malfoy, can you grab Ms. Moon?" "Of course."

Draco went towards Ms. Moon. He nodded when he sat down. "Ms. Moon. Potter, Praxises, Thompsan and I would like to know if you would sit with us at the Ravenclaw table?" She nodded back. "Of course, Mr. Malfoy."

Draco took Lilly to the Ravenclaw table. Not Draco too, thought Snape. "Well Severus, I have to give it to you. Your Slytherins are very inclusive this year." "Of course." He smirked. Maybe this will be a win for Slytherin. Although, he wasn't sure a muggleborn was going to do him any favors. He made a note to be extra vigilant because of what Slytherins would do if they found out.

Dumbledore stood up, "Yes, well I do need to send some students to my office." He walked to where the subjects of the conversation were sitting, "Mr. Potter, Mr. Thompsan, Mr and Mr. Praxis, can you please see me to my office."

They walked behind Dumbledore who conjured two seats towards him, once in his office. "Please take a seat." They all sat down. "Mr. Potter, there's a rumor going around among students and staff. Do you know anything about it?" "I'm not sorry." Harry spat, "Muggles aren't safe around our kind." His family nodded. "I'm surprised you take this stance Mr. Thompsan." "Did McGonagall tell you what happened when I got my Hogwarts letter?" "Yes, parents will usually be surprised at first, but they get better in the long run." "You have no idea what they did when I did accidental magic. They never wanted a wizard. Harry's right, sir." Both Praxises nodded. "This is the point of the statue sir." Renard followed up his brother's remarks, "It was invented because of muggles. We know they are dangerous yet we make an exception for muggles related to muggleborns. It is dangerous." "Harry." "With all due respect sir, Mr. Potter is fine. I've seen what muggles can do and I won't stand by it." "Well, Mr. Potter, let me warn you, some muggleborn won't take kindly to your stance. Ms. Granger for one." "I don't know her very well, sir. And safety comes before popularity, sir. I know many muggleborn will think everything's fine. But many know it isn't. Safety needs to come first, sir."

"Very well, dismissed." Once they exited the door, they saw Draco and Lilly listening. Lilly was smiling. "You really believe that. Some wizards care?" Draco nodded. "Of course. This might be better than never letting them in here. A compromise of sorts." Renard eyed Draco, "Isn't your father a death eater?" "He was cursed." "Okay then."

Next, the Ravenclaws went flying which they shared with Hufflepuffs. "Good afternoon class." "Good afternoon, Madam Hooch." "She does know it's still morning?" Harry whispered to Draco. Draco shrugged, he knew he wouldn't be Madam Hooch's favorite student and wasn't looking to get in trouble. "Good afternoon Amanda." Madam Hooch addressed the short, blond Ravenclaw who whispered something to Madam Hooch.

Harry noticed that Madam Hooch was keeping her eye on him and his friends. "My brother says you can see the back of your head, if you fly fast enough." Praxis nearly yelled. Madam Hooch whistled, "We will go slowly. Say up." "Up." The broom was in Harry's hand immediately. Praxis had his in his hand a tad slower than Harry. And Noah took a while, but he got there eventually.

To the class' surprise, the headmaster came to class. "Madam Hooch, I hate to interrupt. The matter is urgent." "No one better get on those brooms or you'll be expelled before you can say Quidditch." After the adults left, Leanne, Amanda, and Justin walked up to Harry and his friends. "Potter!" Leanne screamed, "How dare you insult my friends heritage when your own mother was muggleborn!" "Sadly, muggle heritage is an insult to wizards. Muggleborn or muggle raised, we are in the same boat. It's dangerous for wizards to be with muggles." Harry nearly spat the word muggles. "My mom would be proud of what I'm doing!" Amanda shoved Harry, who took a step back, while regaining his balance. "Your mom would never be proud of you, Harry. We are safe, Madam Hooch spent three months convincing my mom that I was safe. Does it seem like I'm in danger, bigot." "Untypical danger. Muggles should accept wizards, no question." Justin slapped Harry, "Do not insult my parents." Harry, realizing that Justin must be a muggleborn due to the physical violence smiled, "That is a muggle display. Where'd you learn that from, your filthy muggles?" "Asshole." Justin spat. "You will learn manners here." Praxis assured Justin. Noah nodded towards Amanda, "And won't have to worry about disappointing your parents." Amanda ended their conversation with a huge slap across Noah's face" leaving a handprint. Good for Amanda that it faded before Madam Hooch came back, to continue their lesson.
