A.N. — Today starts three straight birthdays, and three straight female characters from UA. It's also the second plant-based quirk in a row, oddly enough. Today's star seems to be pigeonholed by one aspect of her character, and while I'd like to choose something else to focus on, it is vital to her very sense of self. Happy birthday, Ibara Shiozaki!

251. Ibara Shiozaki/Vine/Maria

Ibara Shiozaki was a devout individual. Faith and belief were cornerstones of her life. But her faith wasn't just placed in a higher power, but in herself as well. If she let that waver, she would not be worthy to bear the mantle of hero.

A strict sense of discipline and benevolence served Ibara well for both her personal and prospective professional lives. When the balance between the violence inherent in her chosen career clashed with the do no harm tenet she'd been taught, having a clear inner vision was essential to not stray from the path of the righteous.

A.N. 2 — Like many of the main cast (1-A and 1-B, for the most part), Ibara had a fair few discarded drabbles. I was close to posting an action drabble with her using her vine hair to restrain a villain, but having Ibara feel conflicted over the level of force she was using. Some of that made it into the the final product.
