Hello there! I came back from hybernation.

I have to warn you: This is a why choose fic. Meaning, in this fic there is one female main character that gets together (as in together together) with the three male main characters. This is also known as reverse harem.

I love these kind of books, and thought it might be nice to try something like this with these characters. Kind of like dipping my toes in the water.

This fic will contain explicit language, lemmons, and adult content. If you don't like it, feel free to leave now :)

If you're curious: Welcome!

The locket.

Chapter 1.

After saving Edward from his suicide attempt and traipsing half-freezing through underground tunnels of what Bella assumed was the castle, they arrived at a throne room.

Bella blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the bright light that filtered in the new room. She hadn't been able to see much on the way here, but at least her eyes were becoming adjusted to the dark passageways. The sudden difference hurt her eyes and made her head throb.

The girl that had cornered them after Alice appeared and stopped Edward from fighting two vampires on his own skipped to stand next to a boy…no, man, a bit taller than her, lean, and with black hair. He looked to be the opposite of her. She smiled briefly at him, earning a curt nod. He was gorgeous. Tall, lean, black hair, red eyes. He didn't have an expression on his face, but his eyes took her in, and she's always been good at reading people. He looked at her with surprise, curiosity, and was that yearning?

Oh, what she would give to have Jasper's gift. Or to borrow Edward's for the moment and read what he was thinking when he looked at her.

She blushed lightly and averted her gaze. She continued scanning the faces of the vampires that surrounded her. Why did she feel so safe in this room? Where was the panic, the hysteria, the fear? Where was the uneasiness that had followed her all through her relationship with Edward and certain moments with the Cullens? Why, in this room, filled with the supposed enemy, did she feel the safest she's ever felt?

She filed that thought in the for later' drawer in her mind. Right now, scanning the faces of the few vampires in the room was a priority.

She saw the three men sitting on thrones. The thrones were placed underneath some of the tallest windows in the room. Rays were coming in, but neither of the vampires shone. She wondered what the windows were made of. Or was it direct sunlight that made them shine? She should have paid more attention during her relationship with Edward. But honestly, she thought she had more time; therefore, her questions hadn't seemed so pressing.

The three kings were old looking. Their skin looked akin to parchment in texture, in frailness. How old were they? Bella rummaged through her memories, trying to remember whether Carlisle or Edward mentioned any dates. She came up empty. From Carlisle's personal story, she knew the kings were older than six hundred years.

One of the kings was speaking, but she had no interest in hearing or paying attention to what he was saying. The man sitting next to him was blond, his expression set on a scowl. He looked upset. No, not upset. Annoyed. Bored.

That makes two of us, buddy.

Bella then settled on the last king. This one was looking at her with amusement. He lifted the corners of his mouth in a barely-there smile. She might have thought the vampire had a tick if he hadn't been looking at her. But he did not because Bella nodded softly, and the man averted his gaze to pay attention to what was happening.

Next on her list were the two men that had come for them when she had saved Edward. They were equally gorgeous but very different physically.

One of them was muscular, tall, with dark hair -though not as dark as the man next to the girl who picked them up -. His hair was more like sandy brown, darker than blond, lighter than brown. He was muscular everywhere. His legs looked powerful. His biceps bulged from the position he was in -restraining Edward. She couldn't see his face because she was behind him.

When had she changed positions? Hadn't she been beside Edward when they came in? Had she moved while distractedly taking in everything?

To the muscular god's left was the other vampire that had shown up.

Had Edward said their names? Or Alice?

She couldn't remember if they did. Hadn't one of them said the girl's name was Jane? Had she heard that correctly or guessed it? She shrugged to herself. It didn't matter.

She looked at the second vampire. He was next to Alice, he wasn't restraining her, but his position spoke that he was there to attempt any sudden movements from her. His stance spoke of power and strength. His hair was dark brown.

The black-haired vampire next to Jane had short hair, while the other two had longer hair. Neither of them had hair long enough to merit a man bun or any kind of restrain.

The dark brown-hair vampire suddenly turned his head and caught her looking. His eyes mirrored the black-haired guy—yearning, curiosity, surprise.

He winked at her, and she felt butterflies in her stomach.

There were more vampires in the room beside the ones she had noticed, but they didn't look threatening enough or didn't capture her interest enough for her mind to categorize them so thoroughly.

Instead, she focused on what was happening in front of her.

Edward was being restrained by a vampire that physically looked bigger than Emmett, and that's saying something. Bella was the only one without a guard, and there was no need to. She knew she couldn't escape. Not only would they catch her immediately, but she also didn't know how to get out of the castle.

And to be honest, she wasn't sure she wanted out.

While the Cullen house was bright and open, this place was full of doors and rooms. Some light filtered through the high windows of the room they were being interrogated in. There were electric torches decorating the room. And she had noticed a few security cameras. Why did they need security cameras was beyond her understanding.

Near Aro, the one who had been speaking all this time, and the other two ancient-looking vampires were other young vampires. Well, young physically. They might as well be as ancient as the three sitting on thrones.

"What's your name, young lady?" Bella returned to earth when one of the three ancients spoke to her. It was the one who had smiled at her.

"Isabella Swan." She answered, tilting her head unconsciously.

Aro hummed appreciatively. Edward struggled to get free.

"How old are you?"

"Eighteen." She answered again, straightening her posture. She might as well pay attention if they intended to keep asking personal questions.

"How long have you been eighteen?"

"A few months." She shrugged. She didn't understand where this line of interrogation was leading.

"What year were you born?"

"1987."

The vampire nodded and reclined back.

That was it? No further interrogation? No further information about his questions? She was disappointed, to be honest.

"Edward and Alice are free to go." Aro decided after receiving a meaningful nod from the ancient that had asked her the questions.

"I'm not leaving without Bella." Edward pressed. He had stopped struggling, knowing it was futile because the vampire restraining him was stronger and didn't seem to exert too much force.

She felt an odd sense of pride for the burly vampire. Edward had been the strongest vampire she knew. Well, he and Emmett. But the fact that the big guy was barely straining himself and Edward had been struggling to free himself made her tingly. There was an odd sensation in her head. She could feel a few things that hadn't been there before.

For once, it felt like there was something she should know, or more like, knew but couldn't place it. Like when you go into a room and suddenly forget why you were going in.

There was also a tingly sensation coming from a few directions. It wasn't the tingly -spider-sense- that came from being watched. She couldn't place it, but it felt foreign, itched, and it was uncomfortable as hell.

She shifted uncomfortably in her place, hugging her chest. The feeling stopped, and she let out a sigh of relief.

"I would hate to take the choice away from our guest." Aro smiled. Bella noticed he was a very theatrical man.

They all turned to her, even the ones pretending to be too bored with this show. So, now she had a choice. That was interesting. Since dating Edward, she hadn't had much choice in many things.

Her mind registered as a priority how the three vampires she had been analyzing earlier looked the most eager to know her decision. Three pairs of red eyes that seemed to read her soul were waiting for her.

"I wish to stay here." It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the truth either. She was curious about her three vampires.

Yes, my three vampires.

"You do understand that if you stay here, they will turn you." Alice said pointedly.

Bella met her eyes without cowering. Jacob had taught her to grow some backbone. "You promised yourself to do the same if I go with you. Or was that a lie?"

Alice's eyes widened in shock.

Aro laughed. "I'm interested in the answer as well, young friend."

The big burly guy who had been restraining Edward smiled openly. He had a nice smile. But it looked threatening.

"My vision is real. I will turn her." But when her resolve wavered, Aro pretended not to notice. Bella shook her head, disappointed.

If she went back, she was going back to the same dynamic. And she couldn't take that any longer.

"Well, Bella. You have two options in front of you with the same result. I'm afraid I can't let you go and remain human for the rest of your life. That is not an option anymore."

She didn't miss a second before repeating what she'd said. "I stand by what I said. I choose to stay here."

Her brown-haired vampire might have sagged in relief. His stance changed ever so slightly. She noticed because she was paying attention but wondered if anyone else noticed it.

Aro nodded. The ancient interrogator stood up and left the room under the blond's watchful stare, who shrugged but remained in his place.

"She made her choice. And you made yours." The blond one spoke for the first time. "You can say your goodbyes and be on your way."

Edward's shoulders sagged in defeat. But Bella couldn't find it in her to care. She would miss them, but she was sure this wasn't the last she'd see of them. Aro gestured with his hand, and the vampire restraining Edward let him go.

However, he remained close. He walked to stand behind her as if he were protecting her.

Edward wasn't stupid enough to take her and attempt to escape, much less go head-to-head with a vampire a hundred times stronger than him.

Alice hugged Bella tightly but carefully. "Call me if you need anything." Bella sighed. She had already told Alice everything that had happened. It didn't change anything, but she would miss her, nonetheless. She had been her first true friend. She had forgiven Alice for leaving without saying goodbye, but it still stings. She wasn't sure if she would trust the Cullens again. "I mean it, Bella." Bella nodded and smiled at her.

"I will. Thank you, Alice. Send my regards to Jasper. And my love to the rest." Alice hugged her again and stepped back, allowing Edward to do the same.

"Are you sure you want to stay here?" The disdain in his voice was unmistakable. He disapproved of her decision.

Not that she cared what he thought anymore.

"I am." She tried to be nice. But it was tiresome to be constantly questioned.

She allowed Edward to hug her, and if she was honest with herself, she missed his arms. They had held so much comfort once, but today they felt empty and cold. She kept the hug quick and the contact to a minimum. It was a sad development, but it didn't change the fact that she no longer trusted him. He had broken her heart, but most importantly, he had broken a promise and lied to her. She couldn't come back to that.

"Take care." She said, stepping back from his embrace and putting distance between them. Edward smiled softly and nodded.

Alice put a hand on Edward's back, between his shoulder blades, and off they went.

She felt relief and accomplishment like this was supposed to happen. Like this is where she had to be.
