Prelude
Hello once again. This is undoubtedly going to be a unique story. It's a story request which you can base of the rating (K+). For once, a tale will have a fusion of 2 different franchises – Ghostbusters & Power Rangers. I'm assuming you, the viewer, have an understanding about both 'entities, so to speak. Getting more specific – the plot is not groundbreaking in the slightest, focuses on a stand alone episode. In regardless to timeline, Lost Galaxy's venture happened before the Ghostbusters, so that the 'supernatural' does not seem out of place. Anyway, if one always desired a somewhat action filled Ghostbusters & Power Rangers crossover, this might be the one for you. Enjoy!
Ghostbusters ft. PR Lost Galaxy –
Battle for the Medalion
At the Hauntquarters. Apparicia – Prime Evil's devilish mistress – descends jet black stairs and hears a shrieking sound to her left.
"You 3 can come out now."
Suddenly, in a faintly lit, arc shaped corridor land a trio of peculiar beings.
"Mistress Apparicia." – one says while tilting the head forward.
"Yes, Andromeda."
"Me & my sisters would be grateful if you send us to capture the Aztec Medalion rather than Fangster."
"Yes. He has insufficient mental capacity to gather something so precious."
"Hmmm."
The respected, high authority female inspects her warriors' stances. When seeking ultimate power or a substantial part of it, weakness is an utter flaw. A minute of silence passes before Apparicia smiles mischievously, proudly.
"Very well, Andromeda. Be prepared to teleport."
"Yes, Mistress."
In Earth's orbit. A mahogany red, symmetrical sided trapezium (trapezoid), extruding azure blue flames out of its end glides through the air above Earth.
"Radster. Is it really worth the hassle to go to this planet? I mean, we've spent a week getting here."
"Relax, Mangetox. I did ask a favor of someone to look for an object that would be valuable to our Queen."
"Well. Did the favor pay off?"
"You bet,… Baby. A shiny, dark gold circle fits that description perfectly."
"Excellent. We'll become the lead Generals for her after this mission."
Down by a pier in the zenith of the night. Nighttime will always be more frightening than daytime; one can try to evade that fact as much as possible, but the outcome will not waver. A quite helpful factor would be an occupation that requires one to constantly work in the less favorable time of day.
"There's Madam's wagon. Seems quiet." – Jake Kong confidently voices.
We can buy his confidence's stock; though, that state of mind would be a stretch for the remaining 2 members of the Ghostbuster's main crew. In addition to the time of day, the trio are dealing with a slight fog and hearing a moderately loud, shiver inducing breathing.
"False alarm. I knew it. Let's go home." – Eddie Spencer says quickly.
Tracy – the clear muscle of the crew – looks around them with the intent of finding anything to peak the Ghostbusters' interests. Just as he's getting ready to admit to defeat, a ghostly, foreboding growling recaptures his attention. It repeats itself several times.
"I don't like the sound of that."
Being supportive, the Gorilla pulls out earplugs, in particular, the fuzzy ones.
"Eddie!"
Without hearing a response, Jake glances at his colleague. The mentioned being appears relaxed, at peace after receiving the fuzzy earplugs; the eeriness of the situation fades out of the mind. Sadly, not for long.
"Hey!" – the man shouts while sensing the earplug takeaway.
"You and Tracy search the pier. I'll check Madame Wise wagon."
[Sometime later]
The less confident, more prone to being startled male is confronted by not only a horse on the pier, but also a medieval clothing bearing, headless person.
"WOW! Tracy!"
The visceral nature of the soundwaves jolts the light brown horse on his back feet; thereby, the headless person falls off, butt first onto the wooden planks.
"Don't be frightened." – the grounded male expresses with a hint of an old fashion speech.
Given the rational, predictable disadvantages, it takes longer than normal for the 'intruder' to get back on his feet. Only after being sure enough that the horse stands to the right, the conjured up idea can be fully relayed.
"I'm just trying to help you."
Naturally, this stuns the opposingly standing duo, given the fact that their work's goal is to stop/capture ghosts, not entertain their help on any matter.
Well into the spicy conversation inside Madam Wise's wagon. One should never be naïve enough to think that years of animosity for someone or something can be dispensed in a second. Bitterness is a strong factor in not believing that people can change and, ultimately, they are either good or evil throughout their entire lives. Still, the Headless Horseman's speaking manner perplexed Jake to a point where he had to severely reconsider his view of him. Yet, the soon to be mission became more prominent very soon.
"…I've read about this Aztec Medalion. If Prime Evil gets his hands on it, it would mean big trouble." – the redhead female reporter finishes.
"She's right, Jake. Whoever controls the Medallion, controls the secrets of the Aztecs."
"Prime Evil would become the most powerful force on Earth."
That is the last nail in the coffin, as per cliché, for the Ghostbusters' leader to extrude his arms outward and say with conviction:
"All right. Than we…"
Out of nowhere, the secluded group hear something outside creating massive waves on the lake.
"What is that?!" – Eddie asks frightened.
"Don't know."
The blond male shifts all attention into a more detail diagnosis of the sound outside.
"It sound as if…"
"Some type of vehicle is landing on the water?" – the reporter named Jessica lays out.
"What kind of vehicle is it?"
"Well,… standing here won't answer that. Let's get out and face it."
Back outside. Even though a light mist obstructed people's sight and darkness dominated, it would be astonishingly difficult to miss a huge spacecraft, hovering almost perfectly over the water.
"That's something you don't see everyday."
"A plane like no other." – Madame adds calmly.
"Plane?... That's a spaceship."
"You might have a point there, Eddie."
The younger female of the group grasps the exact moment someone rushes out of it.
"Someone's coming nearer."
"Everyone,… be prepared to fight."
Swiftly after Jake's motivational act, they approach the situation with alertness in mind.
[Nearby]
"My readings show me that the mysterious energy originates from somewhere close by." – Kendrix states methodically.
"Well that leaves us with little spots. I mean, this lake did look quite detached from people."
"Damon's right. That source can't be far away."
"Well, we might need to split up."
Kai decides to trust his instincts and looks at a right angle to his right.
"I'm afraid that won't be necessary, Leo."
The Red Power Ranger reacts stupendously to the situation and comes to the same conclusion Kai came just a moment ago.
"Clearly."
The five of them come face to face with a mixed group of six. Why mixed? One male appears unorthodox while comparing to the others; then there is the matter of the gorilla. Said creature is holding some type of a gun, painted in silver.
"Who are you?! Did Prime Evil send you?!"
Unsurprisingly, the leader of the Ghostbusters was not in the mood for a discreet confrontation.
"Prime Evil? Who?" – the Green Ranger whispers.
"I have no clue who their talking about."
"Maybe we should power down. That might alleviate the tension."
Maya finally joins the conversation.
[On the other side]
"They're not attacking, Jake."
"They really seem distraught with our appearance here."
[…]
"How are we sure they're not with Trakeena?"
"Cause they probably would've attacked us already." – the Pink Ranger replies.
Behind several seconds of waying the scales, Leo voices:
"Alright! Let's do it!"
[…]
"Maybe spoke to soon."
Fear appears in the eyes.
"Calm and steady, guys."
[…]
"Power down!"
In a split second, the quintet return to their normal outfits; naturally, the opposing side is taken back by this revelation. The widening of the eyes is most visible with Jake. To him, finding out that the Headless Horseman was not headless shaken the foundation of his understanding; this topped even that.
About a minute later. The 2 groups come together, their respective leaders are the ones in the center and the one that shake hands first.
"I'm Leo. Red Ranger and leader of the Power Rangers."
"I'm Jake. Leader of the Ghostbusters."
Their hands split.
"You want me to start?"
"No. It's fine. I can start."
Leo nods in affirmation.
"From my left, you've got Madame Wise. She is the person who brought us the man next to her. His name's the Headless Horseman. According to him, our great enemy – Prime Evil – is after something called the Aztec Medallion."
"Is it a tremendously powerful item?"
"Yes. We're almost certain that with it Prime Evil will become an unstoppable force on Earth."
"Well, dude. Sorry to say that you've got another group of bad guys after that medallion."
"Really?" – Eddie begrudgingly inquires.
"Yeah. They work for an evil Queen by the name of Trakeena."
"More than likely they want to deliver it to her and become her new appraised Generals." – Leo finishes Kai's train of thought.
"Then we've got two negative forces converging on the same location." – the eldest women of all tells with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"We can get more accustomed with each other on our way there as long as we're all on the same page."
"If you mean stopping that medallion from getting to the villains' hands, then you're correct."
Jake's trust in the Power Rangers tips enough to venture with them to the location.
"Good. Then let's get moving."
"What's your mode of transport?" – the Green Ranger asks cautiously.
"A buggy."
"Get it on board the Astro Megaship. It will take us less time in getting there." – Kendrix states confidently, sturdily.
Jake can sense Eddie's distraught about the mentioned idea.
"Relax, man. We're against the clock as it is. If it'll get us there faster, then we've got to risk it."
"I'll manage."
"Then let's manage this situation and get moving." – Leo boldly proclaims.
Despite the still existing sizeable distrust in one another, the two heroic collectives band together and burst with energy to travel to a place where confrontation will be inevitable.
On the journey there. The urge to socialize is too hard to resist.
"…That's insane. Constantly fighting with a Galactic Emperor and not being certain of tomorrow."
"Hmph."
Kai smiles.
"Then it's a good thing we defeated him already."
"He's right. Scorpius is no more. Trakeena is now the self-proclaimed Empress of the Galaxy."
"That's unencouraging. Meanwhile, our big bad resides in a different dimension from what I've gathered so far."
"And how does his creatures appear on Earth?" – Maya asks, deeply invested in the talk so far.
"My guess would be wormholes."
"Well. Let's keep it simple. You deal with the ghost aspect and Prime Evil's henchmen. We'll handle Trakeena's squad."
"You might need to help them."
"Why do you suggest that, Horseman?"
"Yeah! Are you withholding something important?"
"No. I'm just saying that the object might be too precious for one monster. His Mistress might send more monsters to capture it. And hers are more vicious than Evil's."
"That can happen."
"Then it is good that we're all traveling together. A jump scare cannot happen."
Everyone chuckles to some extent at Damon's wit. Subconsciously, they all welcomed the turn away from the clear as day intensity they'll face at their destination.
Soaring in the air through the center of Mexico.
"There. That's the place." – the Horseman points on the screen.
"Alright. Everyone get ready! We'll be entering uncharted territory. Who knows what surprises await us?"
[On the ground]
"Andromeda."
"Yes, Kibel?"
"My wings say that there is a large ship approaching our place."
"Emeralda. Use your vision to compare notes with Kibel."
"As you wish,… Sister."
[In the alleged perimeter]
"Radster, my men report that the Ranger's ship will be landing in the next 5 minutes."
"They've got here before we've found that dark gold thing."
The lobster headed, red skinned being shifts his eyesight.
"But that won't deter us from finding it."
He takes a step towards Mangetox.
"You continue the search for it. I'll set up a trap for the Rangers."
"Nice thinking, friend."
"Just remember,… Baby."
A laser pistol is lifted to Mangetox's waist.
"No betrayals."
"I'm no idiot, Radster. We both know that interpersonal fighting can leave us both dead."
"Okay."
The males split up and the red skinned male immediately starts scheming of a way to surprise the Power Rangers.
Very soon. The engine sound shifts from a storming one to a fading one; the Astro Megaship begins descending onto the surface.
"Wow."
"This is the lost city of Nezgatum."
"Does your ship pick up any infrared rays?"
"It can. One problem – the prevalent mystic energy of the Aztecs. It makes locating beings extremely difficult."
"Not to mention the size of this place." – the Green Ranger says a bit taken back.
Unsurprisingly to most, Apparicia's female monsters or the sent Fangstar avoid confrontation with the newest arrivers. The former's reasoning is that rushing the Unknown seems foolhardy while the latter's reasoning is waste of time. In a way, there are a lot of factions conversing on the same object – the Aztec Medallion. A rational action when one grasps the power it can give to the acquirer.
"TFFF!"
"We're here."
"Alright. Let's set out to find that object before either villain finds it."
"We must be vigilant. The area is enormous and who knows what surprises await us." – Kai explains sternly, monotonically.
[Outside the ship]
"I've got a lock on their platform, Boss."
The lunatic tone is accompanied by a lunatic laugh.
"Easy, Soldier. Lets show them appreciation by firing at them when they're all visible."
"Of course. A wonderful tactic."
Radster is definitely feeling that he's on an unreachable level; consequently, that the Power Rangers cannot match him in their upcoming battle.
As soon as everyone exits the Megaship.
"HRRR!"
"Yes, Sister?"
"I can register them now."
"How many are there?"
"In total – 9 beings. 4 of them are most likely our troublesome Ghostbusters. The other five are bizarre; their auras do not resonate with anything I've seen."
"What does that mean, Emeralda?"
Andromeda almost evaporates all the space between them.
"Those people have something on them that is sending out a sort of energy that is neither Prime Evil's or Aztec."
"Does that pose a real threat to our mission?"
"Undoubtedly, Andromeda."
To the narrowed in leader of the trio, such knowledge did not compress into a simple nuance. The group, whose aiding the Ghostbusters, are more powerful than them. The question – how much more? That answer blasts its way up to the podium of goals.
"Alright. Here's the new plan."
[In the ship's close perimeter]
"Now obvious extrusion of power anywhere as of yet." – Kendrix states after lowering her silver, red accented binoculars.
"It could mean that the ancients casted some sort of spell on the medallion so that it would not be found easily." – Jake poses.
"That's possible."
"If that's the case, we have a lot of ground to cover."
"Oh yeah." – Eddie agrees.
Suddenly, Leo senses an incoming danger at a seriously dangerous speed.
"TAKE COVER!"
Miraculously, everyone springs out of their position which leads to a laser bolt flying in between Kai & Maya.
"Wow!"
Two more laser bolts come flying in between the group. The conclusion repeats itself – no one gets hit.
"Here's the ambush, guys!"
"Then let's Ranger up."
"Everyone stay in cover!" – Jake yells to his team.
The quintet dashes to a more empty area, enter an imposing stand and synchronically shout:
"Go Galactic!"
Seconds later. Logically, the suited up Power Rangers become bodyguards to the Ghostbusters crew. Since they're only four of them, it leaves one Ranger free of that duty.
"Leo! You've pinpointed whose shooting at us?!"
"Yeah. 2 monsters firing from that ledge about 400 meters (~1300 ft) away."
[At said point]
"They're onto us, Boss."
"Relax, Soldiers. This means we'll just engage them face to face. C'mon."
[Close proximity to the Megaship]
"They've just vanished."
"So that means we can come out?"
The Red Ranger shifts his face.
"Yeah, Jake. You all can emerge from the shadows."
To some extent, the group reconverge on one location. The Ghostbusters' crew still being amazed by the transformation they just witnessed.
"Cool. In a split second you become these custom warriors."
Maya sheepishly grins behind her mask.
"Well. It not only improves our strength, but increases our defense. We're less prone to being exhausted than a normal Human."
"Whoever those monsters were, their patience is not random. They appear to have a grudge from the past."
"That rarely narrows it down, Kai. Most surviving Trakeena's monsters would want us wiped out." – Damon broadens the group's perspective on the current topic.
"Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeah!"
Everybody shifts their sight to the source of this enthusiastic expression.
"Radster!" – Kai shouts.
"That's right,… Baby. You thought you got rid off me? Well, nah-ah. I'm back."
A 100 meters (~ 330 ft) away from them stood a familiar, red warrior who the Rangers' recall had been defeated a long time ago. At that time, both Scorpius and Furio were still alive.
"I remember your smug attitude back then and it didn't get you far." – the Blue Ranger taunts.
"It's a new day, Ranger. And you all will not stop my Masterplan this time."
Trakeena's warrior slams his staff into the ground; the free hand shoots red lightning out of it. To what end? Basically, get more hands on deck.
"Okay."
"Me & the Ronex will eliminate you and attain the powerful, shiny, dark gold object for Trakeena. A 2 for 1,… Baby."
Unpredictably, it is at this moment that Tracy shows Jessica a person on the previously mentioned ledge. Naturally, her mind fills with horror.
"Jessica. What is it?" – Eddie asks.
"Look up top."
Both Jake & Eddie glance.
"It's Fangster."
"Who's he? – Maya inquires.
"A lapdog to Prime Evil."
"Safe to assume he is also looking for it."
"Why yes."
A small jolt is felt by most due to the reappearance of the Headless Horseman.
"He is exactly who is after it."
"So glad that you're back." – Jake states, nastiness seeping through the voice.
"I'm sorry. I was too afraid of a possible ambush."
Right there and then, Fangster arrogantly laughs and runs away from them.
"He's getting away."
"Enough chatting."
The staff is propelled of the ground.
"Get them, Ronax."
The recently summoned enemies begin shooting lasers at the Rangers. They swiftly reassure themselves, begin directing the lasers away from any valuable person in their care.
"Go get him! We'll handle Radster and his cronies."
"Good luck." – Jake says confidently, yet wishfully.
"You be careful."
"Will do."
In the upcoming moments, the Ghostbusters & the Power Rangers split up with the former going after Fangster and the powerful object, the latter getting rid of Radster.
Merely seconds forward.
"TSHHH! TSHHH! TSHHH!"
The Power Rangers are clashing their Quasar sabers with the Ronax's short swords; that is – four of the five. The last one is battling their leader – the Super Cool Radster.
"Nice moves." – the red skinned being states, staff locked with in an 'X' shape with a saber.
"Still thinking of ways to enjoy yourself?"
Leo pushes forward; consequently, the ends of the 'X' elongate and the duo come even closer.
"A sure thing."
Feeling confident in the upcoming breakthrough due to their assumed gulf in ability after their 1st encounter all those days ago, the Human male is astounded to see the future. Why? Out of nowhere, the enemy breaks the deadlock, shoves him back a few steps; lastly, the free staff's end shoots azure blue energy. A couple of hits land, though, luckily for the Rangers, Leo is able to deflect the ones after them.
"TSHHH! TSHHH! TSHHH!"
The recently triumphal Blue Ranger sees incoming laser bolts by two Ronax. A power slide is done to avoid them.
"Leo! You good?"
"Yeah. Just a bit of a scratch."
"Hah!.. So now two of you are free."
"There is still time to leave this place, Radster." – Kendrix warns their foe.
[A bit apart]
"What's that?"
"What, Maya?!"
"Something is flying through the air over us, Damon."
The Yellow Ranger's instincts would prove to be correct; yet, not before 3 small, peculiar, unique indigo blue objects drop close to them on the surface.
"Those things are lighting up!"
With that information relayed, in an instant those shining things explode.
"AAAH!"
"Who threw them?!"
[Back near the leader]
Unpredictably, objects dart to the ground in between the opposing sides. Of course, this means that neither is sure of the nature of this intrusion. In part by design and in part by the inevitable time to process new information, indigo blue fumes erupt. The ferocity of the blast dislodges both sides out of their stances.
"Grah."
"That's some potency."
"We need to identify this monster. It's clearly not his."
The Ranger duo look up into the sky and waste little time in finding their fight's perpetrator. As of this second, it appears to be coming back for another attack.
"What kind of creature is it?" – Leo inquires, a bit of exasperation creeping in.
"I don't think we've seen something like this for a while."
Simultaneously, two acts occur: the red skinned Trakeena affiliate decides that it be more beneficial to return to Mangetox's side rather than fight the Rangers at this time, the remaining trio run over to the duo.
[Up in the air]
"Che! These Humans really lack tactical awareness when it comes to fighting."
A vicious, destruction craving grin shows itself.
[On the ground]
"Whatever it is, it'll be close soon enough."
"It'll 100% throw those indigo blue things down again."
[Up in the air]
One… two… three. The being bathes in the joy when foreseeing an upcoming triumph very soon.
[On the ground]
"No holding back."
The Red Ranger swiftly looks at his fellow warriors' faces.
"We rush and morph into the Advanced State."
A step is taken.
"Ready?!"
[…]
"Hmmm."
A 3rd release of suspicious objects in a diagonal angle onto the ground.
[…]
"Ready!"
Suddenly, they all rush forward with admirable force & a determined mindset.
[…]
"Bye!"
A moment passes. The winged attacker elegantly descends to the surface, appraising each maneuver by a part of the self within the psyche. Unfortunately, the assumed to be destroyed group emerge out of the fumes; also, leave about 60 meters (~200 ft) of free, unrepelled air particles between them.
"Not only did they survive my attack, but they also, more than likely, achieved a stronger faze."
The cheerfulness diminishes a fair amount.
"It looks like these Humans have a bit of bite about them."
The tone is screechy, yet faint. Main reason – no desire to propel the group's positivity from its current state.
"What's your deal, lady?"
"You're interfering with my Masters' plans. That cannot continue."
"What is she?"
"To my knowledge, she's a harpy."
"A what?"
"A fusion of a woman's body and bird limbs."
The Rangers swiftly deduced or settled upon their new foe. Said person stood on two, massive, thick, reptilian skinned, 3 finger bird legs, possessed similar arms with attached wings onto them. Also, the color motif – dark blue.
"Since you've showed sufficient determination in pushing through my attack, I give you your one and only chance to escape Nezgatum."
"Not happening, lady!"
Abruptly, Leo takes a step forward, lowers his blade and fires at Andromeda.
"SHHH!"
The harpy shows a confident grin before swiping her right arm in an upward motion.
"HAH!"
"Suit yourself."
The hybrid being extracts two swords from its back, extends one leg backward, leans forward.
"Get ready, guys!"
"Let's just hope she won't get air born again." – Kai silently expresses a concern.
In a couple of seconds, Andromeda launches at them and a new clear confrontation erupts.
Somewhere away. Tracy points to a flint grey, constructed cavern at the ruins of the ancient city of Nezgatum.
"Tracy says he went there." – Eddie says in his casual scared, concerned voice.
"Alright. We must not let up. Fangster might be close to getting the medallion."
"That's not all we should be worried about, Jake."
"Jessica's right. There is also the Rangers' foes."
"They look even more determined than Fangster."
"All of that is good and well. But we've got to check out this cavern."
"We're with you, Jake." – the reporter states with conviction.
[Close to the Astro Megaship]
"Ach!"
The Blue Ranger is suffering from the latest hit; his stomach got dragged by the surface for a few steps.
"TSH! TSH!"
Andromeda locks blades with Leo on one side & Maya on the other. Both Rangers felt a tad of frustration behind their masks, even if they would never admit to it. Their base form could defeat Radster. Given their growth and ascension in form, the last encounter would have ended in a victory if not for the appearance of their current enemy. Trusting Kendrix's mind, this sort of being was proving extremely difficult to handle; the Lights of Orion assumed a new role in this fight. Rather than being the trump card, it became the aspect that made it even.
"Kai! You're not out, are you?"
"No."
The male gathers his strength and starts to leave the lying position.
"Hya."
With being blade locked, the Green Ranger feels this is a perfect opportunity to strike. A jump at the face of the harpy pushes the mind to the mindset of it being the end. Sadly, that is not how the act is resolved.
Applying significant force to her arms, Apparicia's servant slightly dislodges the two Rangers, immediately lifts her leg and smashes its end into Damon's waist. Needless to say, the contact launches him a fair amount back with pain overwhelming the mind.
"This… harpy is someone to deal with."
"It paint me to say this but we approached it carelessly."
The Blue Ranger joins the Pink Ranger's stance to one side.
"Then it's good that we're ultra-resilient."
Understandably, they do not merely gawk at the battle; comrades must have each other's back, after all.
"ACH!"
A repelled, frustrated, determined Leo is ready to jump back into a sword exchange when Kendrix taps him on a shoulder.
"Wait."
A shift of the head.
"What's the issue?"
"The Ghostbusters. They ran along in this ancient city and I'm afraid they might get extremely hurt wandering around it."
"We should check up on them."
"And what about her? She's a talented fighter."
"You & Maya wain her down and she'll retreat."
"Kendrix's spot on. She and the others all desire the medallion not a long brawl."
In a dozen seconds, the leader of the Power Rangers analyzes the situation, ways possible outcomes, full-heartedly spears to a single one.
"Go. We'll be there soon enough."
Kai & Kendrix nod and rush away from Leo. Commendably, a slight stop is taken when their lying colleague becomes in touching distance.
"Alright, Damon. We got to get moving."
"Yeah. Speeder bikes are on the menu."
"As long as I do not have to get off it for a while, I'm good." – the Green Ranger voices spryly.
"That all will depend on your driving."
The now connected 3 beings dart inside their spaceship.
A couple of minutes later.
"Even with your upgrade, Human,… my sheer force will win out."
The Yellow Ranger is already on one knee, barely keeping her Quasar saber in an angle to prevent a significant blow. Time – a definite premium right now when one notices the shaking hand; an unwanted outcome is in a dominant position for our heroine.
"Cha! Cha! Cha!" – Andromeda loudly, wickedly laughs out.
Abruptly, the illustrious desired thrill of beating a worthy opponent in a fight is stagnated due to an arc, front flip maneuver from the Red Ranger. The reaction is pulling back the short sword an spinning elegantly, masterfully achieving a much needed space apart; thus, Leo lands close to Maya, swiftly extend the unarmed arm forward.
"Thanks, Leo."
"Always, Maya."
They share a brief friendly moment before turning to the side where their enemy stands.
"I see you've yet to learn your reality."
"Hya!"
The Rangers assume their fighting stances: male's feet are close, saber extrudes in a diagonal manner, female's feet are more spread out, peak height is lost, saber extrudes in a horizontal manner across her neck.
"Hmmm. Admirable…"
"OOOU!"
Opponents take note of the ghostly, ferocious, unknown voice.
"What is this?"
Ask and you shall receive Yellow Ranger.
"I'm the ancient spirit protector of Nezgatum! You are trespassing on a sacred ground! Its time you pay your dues and… FLEEEEE!"
Foreboding and intrusive – best way to describe the voice.
"A new development. I hope my sisters have found it by now. Time here looks to be shrinking."
It does not take long for the beings to pick up an unusual, extraordinary sound; its nature seems destructive, not creative.
"Maya! Look!"
The Rangers see a slowly closing in orange-brown long line, which is outstretched in that spirit renowned light blue hue.
"Whoever they are, their…"
The harpy launches into the air; obviously, this development takes precedent over the still far away mysterious force.
"It looks like she's leaving."
"Yeah."
They achieve normal stances, talk about the best way forward. Yes, the confrontation had ended. Though, none of the Power Rangers, even the ones already away from the battle scene, would bet on Round 1 being the end.
Within the cavern. The 'fully alive' quartet make their way pass a quite narrow part of the city by feet. Since their past rival / current alleged helper was a ghost, he floats over the grey stone pavement; its characteristics are intriguing. Which one in particular? The part where the stones are seemingly identical, placed pristinely for some people to walk on them; a clear hint of the Aztecs architectural prowess.
"This place does seem to quiet for me." – Jake states, leading the group as a leader should.
A few steps are taken.
"Fangster couldn't have possibly ran that far ahead of us."
"Not sure, Jessica. After all, he wasn't surprise attacked by that monster."
"Surprises can find us too." – the Horseman quietly proposes.
In relatively swift fashion, the Ghostbusters' current crew come across a descending staircase during their movement within the grey cavern. All appears to going swell before a peculiar lever is found on the right side of the wall; also, several statues are placed in a carved out area on the left. Being the pragmatist, knowing the finer details of the current situation, the blonde male sways the others from touching that lever. Then Tracy passes it, subconsciously or consciously, choosing to copy Jake's approach. So far so good... that only leaves the feeble Eddie Spencer. Should be a comfortable victory for the Ghostbusters.
"Hey, Trace,…"
The gorilla notes his addressing & begins to turn around.
"…Think this might be one of those boobytraps?"
As soon as Tracy sees what is happening, fear and light dread shoot up within him. Being genuinely taken back by the view, he begins protesting Eddie's approach, nonchalant, more like – curious, attitude.
"Hey. Okay. I won't touch it. Take it easy."
Eddie lifts his palms up, spreads them fingers up in front of his comrade. Naturally, this relieves the gorilla.
"What you take me for Tracy?"
Remember those statues I mentioned? Well, they did depict ferocious beasts. So it is not out of the ordinary to witness Eddie backpedaling to hit it, turning around and being frightened by it.
"HYAAAOOOH!"
Again – too easy to scare. This dislodgement from the supposed harmony propels him to lean with his entire body weight on the mentioned lever. It goes down. What a shock!
Though Tracy covers his eyes with his arms, those limbs are soon called into action by the abrupt narrowing of the pathway. The being not only halts it, but it takes less than half a minute for the grey, stone walls to return to their original position.
"Good work, Tracy."
Eddie confidently gets off the lever; a presumption that its trap system is over is conjured up by the mind. Sadly, this proves not to be the case. Slightly hitting the nose of the male, the lever jolts up to its top. Consequently, this triggers the stairs to flatten elegantly into a flat, steep downward slope.
"WOW!" – the female reporter screams.
She and Jake begin sliding down it, then – Tracy and lastly – Eddie.
"TRACYYYYY!"
On the acceleration curve. The crew are clearly, unmistakably gaining momentum going down this slope / slide; their emotions – not in the best condition, understandable dread beams within their heads.
"This isn't going well!"
"There is a probable up ahead, Jake Kong."
"What is it, Horseman?"
"A large hole coming up fast."
"Seriously?!"
"Yeah. Look ahead, Jake."
In less than 60 meters (~200 ft), the entire slope shifts into a fall – a sharp angle becomes a right one. Crucially, it takes up the entire width.
"That's not good!"
Tracy voices the same feeling.
Suddenly, someone shouts:
"HEY, GUYS!"
Most of the Ghostbuster look behind them. Magnificently for them, they see 3 of the Power Rangers closing in on them, which means their speed is greater than theirs. Purposefully, robustly crafted bikes – these vehicles are the ones that are going to be behind this save.
"Wait! There's too many of us!"
"No, they're enough, Eddie!"
"Get ready, you all!"
The Pink Ranger expresses this with the goal of refocusing the Ghostbusters' crew on this brittle moment rather than foreseeing something up ahead in the future.
"Horseman! Lift me over the hole while the Rangers grab them!"
"Jake!"
"It's okay, Jessica."
He stoically latches his eyes on the ghost's eyes.
"Perfect time to check his allegiance."
What occurs? In about a dozen seconds, the Rangers pulls 3 of them onto their bikes, the Horseman lowers his arms to which the leader grabs onto. No inclination of doubt within any of the minds. Amazingly, the power suited trio use a special lever to propel the bikes at the edge over the hole. This way Damon-Eddie, Kai-Tracy & Kendrix-Jessica avoid a assumed grim reality on their vehicles, the male duo get across, too. Happily for everyone involved, the path behind the hole returns to a comforting one.
At a separate spot in the ancient city. Opposite in terms of spaciousness to the before mentioned cavern, a moderately sized, even sided, porpoise grey temple stood around a seeming stone layered arena. No other building was within 2 kilometers (~1,2 miles) of it. Speaking of anything other of note, there were several square elevations with stairs all around the desert reminding zone. Soon, from the temple appear half a dozen Ronex & swiftly, yet cautiously walk to a platform closest to the structure; on it stand a duo, who are quite familiar with the Power Rangers.
"AAAAAH!" – Mangetox gloats.
"Ah-hah, Baby."
The leading henchmen of Radster presents him with a decently sized, dark gold, shiny, circle shaped object.
"That's it, Radster?"
"You bet, Mangetox."
He takes it from the retriever. At this point, Fangster, Prime Evil's monster, leans out of the corner behind the temple to see this action.
"So…."
He thinks a bit.
"…They have found the medallion?"
Pondering about the best approach to the changed situation is what occurs.
"It is heavy."
"Nothing to be surprised about if it's made of 99% gold."
Mangetox swerves his eyes around 360 degrees efficiently.
"The landscape appears good. Let's get back to the ship."
Just when the duo & the Ronex turn around to leave, a trio of indigo blue objects land in between them. The leaders see this, though, it still is not enough for them to avoid what comes next.
"PFFFFF!"
The sudden eruption of gas frees the gold object from Radster in an upward angle.
"SWOOOSH!"
A flying being catches it masterfully and distances itself form the platform.
"I think I know who did that move."
Fangster's confidence in still retrieving the medallion for Prime Evil is halved.
"What was that?!"
"Who has the guile for this?!"
In a few seconds, a trio of beings softly land on the surface at such a proximity where proper sighting of features that identify them can be achieved.
"That would be us,… Redface." – Andromeda voices condescendingly.
[Behind the temple]
"I was right."
Immediately, Fangster swerves around to not get carelessly noticed by either majority or the minority in terms of manpower.
"Apparicia's harpies are insanely talented warriors. Umph."
He takes a deep breath.
"Taking one on is a task. 3?"
Another deep breath.
"No way."
Begrudgingly, a decision is made; its critical aspect – the lesser of two evils at least saves him extreme damage.
[In the stone clearing]
"…or we'll just take it from you."
"Don't mess with us."
Kibel devalues or dismisses the Super Cool Radster's demands.
"Alright, ladies."
"Here's this!"
Abruptly, Mangetox slams his staff into the ground to trigger a 2 spiraling, intertwining red streams of light. Kibel is unable to pick up on the trajectory and the streams slam into her body.
"BSHHHHH!"
The powerful Aztec object is again in the air. However, that last shortly. Main reason – a descending Mangetox grabs ahold of it.
"YES!"
Legs slam ferociously into the ground.
"Soldiers!"
The other harpies take notice of those words, guessing an incoming attack. Their suspicions would prove to be correct with an incoming barrage of red lasers.
"Mangetox!"
"Yeah!"
"Return to the ship. I'll deal with them and join you soon."
Even with the quick exchange, a new player enters the game.
"Boss, Rangers!" – shouts one of the Ronax.
Trakeena's favor seekers turn to the same side. During this, Andromeda creates a translucent, dark blue wall that stops the laser hitting her & her sisters.
"You got caught lacking again, sis."
"They will not get away with this."
"I hope not. That medallion will be returned to Apparicia."
Stopping to form a triangle of factions. Right now a trio of groups immerse themselves in a deadly battle for the precious object in question. To prove the point, one only needs to recount the fact that its holder has changed twice in a span of a few minutes.
"Lights of Orion!"
The Rangers morph back into their improved, more powerful suits. Also, their, more or less, sacred Quasar saber is joined by a two finger, metal exterior claw which possesses a move or another.
"Alrighty then."
Radster turns to his right.
"You all destroy the Rangers."
Instantly shifts 180 degrees.
"You all help Magnetox leave & me eliminate those female birds."
He even motions to his long range condition Ronex to continue shooting at any enemy in sight.
"Look out!" – Kendrix screams.
[To the side]
"Where do you thing you're going?!" – Andromeda shouts vengefully.
"So…"
Mangetox realizes that the harpies survived the blasts & are undoubtedly going to attempt another snatch from his hand.
"…You learn hardly?"
"You'll learn defeat,… Sneaky Monster."
Her eyes widen.
"Come at me if you dare."
Apparicia's female warriors see the arriving lesser soldiers to his side. Though opposite to being reactive, which could further down lead to stupidity (a well known cliché), one chooses a proactive approach.
"How 'bout this."
The emerald colored reptile skinned female swiftly drops down, extremely thrusts her wing in an upward motion.
"Wind Splice."
Mangetox notices an incoming long green, white inserted ranged attack; naturally, the staff moves to counter it. A counter splash of energy comes quickly after.
[With the last arrivers]
"Kai! Throw that blaster to me!"
The Blue Ranger has locked blades with an enemy; yet, there is a blaster of a former enemy in between his feet. A short rational assessment is performed.
"Definitely good to have help."
Immediately, he kicks the blaster back to Jake Kong Jr. . He as well as other members of the Ghostbusters took cover behind the Rangers' speeder bikes. After all, this was their 1st wide open, multi-faction brawl on their mission, so several nuances, a retracted, more passive approach is valid.
"Oh yeah."
The blonde male gets the blaster, then looks at which of the 3 Rangers are struggling the most at this particular time.
[To the side]
"Hya!"
The Aztec Medallion holder stops Emeralda's attack.
"Hmph."
Completely differently to her sister, Andromeda doubles down on being victorious against their current opponent.
"Wait!"
A despair inducing idea comes into Magnetox's mind.
"Where's the 3rd one?"
"Right here."
Just as he is looking up, Kibel swoops in close to his head & manages to extract the medallion from him with a jet black, red rings possessing staff which has a shining, crimson red, hollow pyramid at the top.
"CURSE YOU!"
That specific part is where the gold object resides in. Unfortunately to Magnetox, the other 2 harpies come rushing in; really not much for dwelling on misfortune.
[With the last arrivers]
"You're almost done, Radster."
Damon extends his sword trying to end the fight; his foe is ready to push it to the side. They shift positions once again.
"You'll be down, too,… Baby."
Due to the rise in accuracy among the now armed Ghostbusters' crew, the Ronax had depleted to about a third of the amount. The fight favored the Rangers: the long range soldiers were out of the equation, Kai, Kendrix only tussled with four of them, Damon sprawled with the Super Cool Radster admirably well.
"I've got something more for him."
The red monster moves his staff's end onto his foot, without hesitation, kick it up to a forward facing position.
"No!"
The Green Ranger launches at Radster; maybe he'll avoid the blast at his body.
"We'll be having none of that!"
Yellow lightning smashes chaotically at & around the ready to strike Trakeena's accomplice.
"Wow!"
Damon stops in shock of the way everything just transpired.
"Maya's back!" – Kendrix voices loudly.
[In the air above the Nezgatum]
The harpy by the name of Kibel felt overjoy with how her involvement in the last battle. She used Magnetox's shrunken attention span as a wonderful opportunity to propel in a flying manner at him. Trusting her sister Emeralda, all of the quick succession acts concluded with the Aztec Medallion in her staff's hollow pyramid.
"Cha! Cha! Cha! Time to get this shiny thing to our Mistress."
A few seconds away from turning away from turning around and leaving this ancient city, Kibel overhears an ever closing in barrage of energy to her side.
"TSAAAAACH!"
Full breaks with her black reptile skin incorporating wings; six seemingly majestically spread out blasts pass a step from her head.
"Who has the audacity to face me?!"
The female turns her head at the origin; the sight instantly sparks resentment, ominousness within the psyche.
"That would be me, lady."
Out of all the things Kibel expected to be the cause, a bright, red suit wearing male, connected to a wide, carefully crafted, silver contraption was at the bottom of the list.
[Radster's sphere]
"…So where's Leo?"
"Stopping those winged beasts form getting away with the medallion."
"Great thinking, you two."
The newly formed Ranger duo decided to maintain defensive stances until a comprehensive, unlikely to fail plan of attack is formed and/or Kai & Kendrix joins them after defeating the remaining Ronax. While the male's stance was more upright, the female's legs were significantly more spread out. The sideview would implicate a preference for an acrobatic trick in the future.
[In the air above Nezgatum]
"…No way,… Human."
Kibel is unquestionably confident in her ability to destroy the flying male; that is one of the main thrusts for playing with her jet black staff across both hands.
"You've chosen your path."
Leo narrows his eyes on the black attributed harpy. Apparicia's warrior gleefully grins before stopping the weapon's movement.
"Let's see what you're made of."
A push forward with the staff triggers a pyramid shaped, red ray which is travelling jn extraordinary speed.
"Ha!"
The Red Ranger flies in a somewhat unorthodox fashion for the hit to miss. In a way, this aids him in understanding that each flying being produces different type of attacks; a singular path to deal with these foes cannot sustain itself.
[Mangetox's sphere]
His staff blocks both of Andromeda's short swords.
"Cha!"
Emeralda comes in with a swipe of her left arm / wing.
"I'm there."
The red core fires a blast at the dark blue harpy. Due to its 1st appearance, it lands and deals a substantial blow. This frees the staff to repel the incoming swipe. Plus, he puts a lot of velocity behind a kick to her thick, emerald green reptile resembling legs.
"AAACH!"
[Radster's sphere]
Trakeena's mocking, annoying warrior was brawling with the Green & Yellow Rangers; in terms of landing hits, both sides were basically equal. The problem for the Radster – it is to 2 against 1. If the current trajectory remains the same, he'll undoubtedly lose this fight.
"Run away while you can."
"No chance, Baby."
"Hya!" – Kendrix screams.
As he's turning to the side, a pink power slash does a clean hit to his front; therefore, he is pushed back a few steps.
"BRRR!"
"Thanks, Kendrix." – Maya states happily.
"We're the Chosen protecters. Can't let one fall when it can be prevented."
The previous 2v1 becomes 4v1.
[The air confrontation]
"Strenuous whips."
Three black thin lines launch at the Red Ranger; luckily, he evades their reach.
"Hmph."
Not much time for Kibel to grunt when the half a dozen blasts come at her once again. The duo start a forceful, ferocious, energy consuming flying sequence once again.
[…]
"Hey. Don't be doing something sly there."
The Radster shoots at the Rangers in order to split their huddle up.
"Let's get him now!" – Damon shouts.
"Right with you!"
The Pink Ranger continues her arc shaped trajectory while the Green Ranger stops and charges at the red skinned opponent.
"Come here, prankster."
Magnificent condition behind the male's voice.
"Ready to go again."
"Yeah!"
The Rangers' foe was about to land another direct hit with Damon rushing him directly. Yet, that does not reach its destination. A sliding stop with a diagonal power extruding slash appears; Radster angles his staff to counter it.
"CHAAA!"
Suddenly, Maya comes up behind her fellow warrior, jumps into the sky. Also, a probable case of performing a front flip.
"TSSSSS!"
The sporadic yellow lightning disrupts Radster's confident stance to repel the power slash; therefore, it causes significant damage.
"OOOOO!"
"Not letting up!"
The lightning keeps the monster at bay, second guessing on a possible way out of this burst.
"Gotcha!"
"Hah!"
In a couple of seconds, Kai & Kendrix comes in from either side to enact a ferocious strike at his upper waist. Soon, the staff drops out of the palm; lightning, sparks begin to erupt from the Super Cool Radster.
"It's done." – the Pink Ranger thinks to herself 1st out of all the other Rangers.
By rushing away from their foe, they turn around and witness the end – Radster starts falling backward before a significant explosion erupts in his spot.
[…]
"Give me that medallion."
"No way, Human."
The air bound duo had engulfed themselves in a close slashing affair, going along horizontally Earth's surface. Then there was some vertical movement, back to horizontal and back to vertical again. The black color attributed harpy retains the snarky attitude from the start of the battle.
"TSH! TSH! TSH!"
[…]
"Eh!.. Eh!.. Eh!"
The green attributed harpy struggles with her breathing after managing to avoid severe damage from Mangetox.
"Sis! At me!"
Emeralda glances at Andromeda; her sister's face appears to be transformed. The pervious serious look seems to have doubled, brisk, energetic emotions are toned back. In particular, one of her wings fingers settled in an upward position. That his home fairly soon.
"Right, sis."
She stamps her feet into the ground and plunges herself high into the air.
"A retreat maneuver? Hah! I thought better of you."
Mangetox blatantly mocks the harpies for their regression in terms of approach to the fight.
"You've got a new plan?"
"I do indeed, sister."
For this moment, the emerald one remains in a kneeling position, wings lowered down, while the indigo blue one remains in her previous stance.
[…]
Closer to the edge of the city than to the elevation. The combatants are back separated; this time 60 meters (~200 ft) of air accomplishes that.
"I'm really getting annoyed with this fight. He shouldn't be able to stop me for so long."
Kibel grunts with her head tilted a little downward. On the opposing side, Leo feels the irritancy of it, too; he just recently sparred with Andromeda. Even though his mind had concluded that this harpy was weaker than the other one, the fierceness, determination still permeated within this one.
"Leo!"
Majestically, the Red Ranger manages to see his team & Ghostbusters' crew together nearby. Naturally, he assumes that Radster is no more.
"Hah?"
The harpy looks at the ground, only to see an incoming power slash. She swiftly moves her staff about to fire back which disperses the incoming energy.
"You no good, Humans."
Staring past that dispersion, a barrage of laser blasts come soaring at her. This triggers her movement firstly and Leo's movement secondly.
"You, Ghostbusters, are mine!"
Safe to say, Kibel's primary target has shifted away from Leo.
[Still close to the elevation]
"Now here's a change."
The before mentioned weird placement of the hand had achieved its goal. A multiple blue-white incorporated, elegantly spinning sphere rested above the hand's fingers.
"That will not be enough."
Unexpectedly, Andromeda narrows her eyes.
"It will."
In a split moment, her instincts relay a peculiar, noteworthy idea.
"Kibel. She might be struggling."
"Keep your head clear, sister. We've got work here."
[…]
"It's working." – Jake notes.
"Yeah. She definitely has eyes on us now." – Eddie states frantically.
"Keep calm. This will work."
The inevitable need to avoid the blasts forces Kibel to close their distance severely; a quite understandable set of factors – one cannot commit to an eliminatory attack with so many obstacles that need avoiding.
"Alright."
The Pink Ranger calculates the 3 crucial participants speeds, a specific reaction time. Only then she says with genuine conviction:
"Now."
The Yellow Ranger leans in.
"Blinding Stream."
The seemingly futuristic gauntlet releases a light yellow stream of light directly at the harpy.
"AAAAA!"
A forced stop comes to fruition.
"KSHHHHH!"
A laser landing on the shoulder cripples the mind for a short period of time. Though, it is enough for Leo to come in from the right and produce a power slash. Hit. Not only it creates more disharmony for Kibel – the attached to the reptile skinned thigh Aztec Medallion begins falling down to the ground.
"Tracy! Go get it! We'll back you up and cover the air!"
The gorilla confirms that he got the message before the entire Ghostbusters' crew launch at the spot where the medallion is soon to land.
[…]
"Come on."
Mangetox aims his weapon at the harpies, still oozing in confidence. To some, this sort of mindset could be treated as dangerous. The Ronax – gone, his co-leader – gone as well. Not to mention the fact that the monster duo might be plotting something unprecedented, hard to counter.
"Alright."
Abruptly, Andromeda bursts forward with the energy encapsulating sphere. Simultaneously, Emeralda stands up, begins bending her left arm / wing.
"HAAA!"
He blasts at the rushing harpy; sadly, she evades the attack with the jump. He notices the shift & changes his approach once more.
"Your time is up."
In a split second, the 2nd arm joins the motion. Both inch forward with a shout of:
"Thick Wind Spiral."
Shamrock green, immensely, forcefully concentrated streams of particles surround Mangetox in a flash. Well,… a trap may be the aspect that trumps this matchup.
[…]
The flying harpy switches her sights onto Leo; her teeth start to grin on each other. Such a reaction – a clear look into what is going on within her psyche. Choosing to be proactive, the Red Ranger twists his upgraded Quasar saber in front of him.
"You dare mock… MEEEEE?!"
The weapon becomes releasing sparks chaotically, sporadically out of the hollow pyramid.
"I'll turn you to dust for making me drop the medallion!"
He points the saber at the place where a Human's heart resides. If one's expecting a jousting type of rush between the 2, congratulations – a stamp on being foresightful.
[…]
"Hah?"
Mangetox finds it hard to grasp that he can barely move at all.
"The wind can't be that… strong."
Out of nowhere, an act of coughing emerges.
"Without special knowledge, no one can break the Thick Wind Spiral." – Emeralda states coldly, callously.
"How can…"
"And that's not all!"
Right now on the peak of the spiral, Andromeda smashes her sphere onto it; with significant pain waves backwards, the sphere enters the supposed thick cage of wind. For a neutral, a unpredicted end might be on the cusp of blossoming.
[…]
"AAAAA!"
The opposing forces are almost within touching distance of each other. Their emotional sphere on the matter is completely opposite: one is rushing in with disdain, hatred, vengefulness, while the other remains calm, collected, emotionally in check.
[…]
"It also aids power when you know its traits."
A triumphant grin appears on the pain coursing harpy's face.
"NO!"
Too little, too late.
[…]
With intense speed in check, their bodies come to a negligible space away from each other. Kibel takes the initiative and tries to pierce him with her staff. Shockingly – it is a miss. Seeing and predicting the attack, the Red Ranger conducts a loop that gets him beyond the reach of the staff. Also, it leaves his Quasar saber face to face with an unguarded front.
"TSHSSSH!"
The swipe is critical; the mind cripples completely.
Post multi fight areas. Celebration – a natural part of Human life; usually, the more impactful the accomplishment, the larger the upcoming festivity is.
"That was really well done, man." – Damon sings his praise for Leo.
"Thanks, man. That was a good move to use."
"Strength in numbers."
Strangely or not, Tracy from the Ghostbusters is the 1st to sense incoming danger. Eddie takes notice, Jessica & Jake follow after. Before the latter can attach the reaction of Tracy's to the idea, Maya firstly hears, than sees familiar flying objects.
"Look out!"
Soon, an explosion erupts 40 meters (~130 ft) from the concentrated collective. This puzzles Maya, Leo, Kendrix almost instantly; main reason – why did not the blasts land at them? Was it a miss or a warning of some sort?
"Wait. Someone's landed near us."
"I doubt it's someone good."
Jake would be proven right in seconds. Behind the smoke veil stand 2 other harpies: a familiar one & an unfamiliar one.
"Humans!"
"You've defeated our sister."
"Which means we have 2 tasks now."
"Defeating you all and retrieving the Aztec Medallion."
As what normal combatants would do, the Rangers' sabers and the others' blasters converged on being aimed at the harpies. The Rangers experienced several reservations about the upcoming fight.
"They talk serious."
"They look serious, too, Damon."
"These two look more determined than the other one."
"We might need to split up."
Leo conjures up a wonderful scheme, given the current situation.
"Can you call your buggy here?"
"Sure."
The blonde male looks directly at the red suited male.
"Why you need it?"
"So you can get the medallion out of here, since…"
On que a brown-orange line reshows itself to the leader of the Power Rangers.
"What's that?"
"Don't know, but we'd rather not find out."
[On the opposing side]
"Your reading?"
"Those 5 monotoned, suited Humans are more powerful than the remaining ones."
"And the red one's the strongest?"
"Yes. Which mean he, more than likely, defeated, Kibel."
[With the medallion holders]
"Alright."
Leo nods and returns his eyesight to the harpies. Both sides look at each other stoically; one could bet that each person is constructing his or her own interpretation of the best set of moves forward.
A few gushes of wind later. Out of nowhere, Andromeda springs at them, almost instantly getting her feet of the ground.
"CHS! CHS! CHS!"
The Ghostbusters fire at her.
"Propelling Whirlpool."
The combined arms burst out an attack that only disrupts everyone's stances: some come crashing to the surface, some pace like their drunk. Out of all of them, Leo is the one that gets hit quite minimally and launches himself back into the sky.
"Just the way I wanted it."
The blue color representing monster goes upward to confront the Red Ranger.
[On the ground]
"It's time for them to receive their dues."
Emeralda closes her eyes and whispers in a specific tone:
"Movement Vision."
A jolt of pain is held, but the being welcomes it; almost as if she knows what advantage she's receiving for it.
"Let's rush her!"
"Yeah!"
The Green & Yellow Ranger burst from the group at the emerald green colored monster.
20 meters…. 15… 10…
"Right."
Emeralda's head returns to a comfortable position. Eyes – elegantly transformed into a different form from the previous one.
"Cha."
5… In a flash, she moves around to punch Damon; simultaneously, a kick lands to Maya's chest.
"Ha!"
"Kchhh!"
The development is stamped in the mind.
"Got to be careful with this one."
The Blue Ranger raises his saber over his head.
"They do look more talented than our previous foes."
[…]
The Red Ranger keeps shooting at the harpy; the latter counters with her blue power slashes.
"HM!.. HM!.. HM!.."
They collide and their blades do not land a clean hit on one another.
"Another run."
Leo's mentality is splendid in this fight. When one is involved in a high speed confrontation, capacity to process new information swiftly reaches extreme, massive value.
[…]
"Hmmm. She does have a punch."
"J-J-Jake!"
The Ghostbusters' leader stands back up to witness a joyous sight – Ghost Buggy Jr.'s exterior is bright enough for identity's confirmation.
SLAM! Emeralda dislodges Kai from going in with another saber piercing.
"A flying vehicle?"
A rush of possibilities. Afterwards, she takes a firm stance.
"Wind Splice."
The ever nearing Ghostbusters' primary mode of transportation goes under the green, white inserted attack by the harpy.
"She's fiery."
"Darn it."
Jake sees the Rangers fighting one of the harpies. Even though it is 4v1, as was with Radster, the side view speaks a whole other story.
"Jake. Where's the Horseman?"
"Ah?"
He looks at her, understands the reason behind the question.
"I don't know. He must be…"
In the close area around Emeralda. Suddenly, a grief, disturbing image shows itself. What it could be? A shadow.
"How are they…"
BANG. The differently seeing harpy is trounced by a side hit from the Headless Horseman, who is holding Kibel's staff with all his might.
"Yeah. C'mon."
TFFFFF. For the 1st time in this fight, the Humans had managed to land a blow to Emeralda.
[In the air above]
The duo are pushing their weapons against one another.
"You're a worthy opponent, Human. I'll concede that."
"You seem to be a person who practices her abilities constantly."
"You can't be the leader if you're not the strongest one."
Andromeda decides to end the stalemate, flies backward and rapidly releases an attack.
"Propelling Whirlpool."
"Claw Armored Shield."
The improvement on the arm projects a red shield in front; that is the thing that nullifies the harpy's attack. And… they get back to flying & ranged attacks.
[On the ground]
"Getting tired, Human?" – Emeralda asks mockingly.
"Your eyes do give you an edge." – Maya admits begrudgingly.
Not an easy feat to ever give credit to an opponent.
"Yet, I have the grit to see this through."
"We'll see."
The harpy pushes the Yellow Ranger back. Also, she does not calm down, ease on the ferocity behind her attacks against said Ranger; this leads to constant backpedaling.
Fortunately for Leo & Jake, Ghost Buggy Jr. lands near the Ghostbusters' crew. They waste little time in getting in and leaving the surface.
"Jake! What about the Rangers?"
"Leo said they can handle them."
"I barely doubt that, Jake, but we still do have our blasters."
"Eddie is right. If we lend them a hand at a crucial moment, we'll win together. Plus, they still have the ever enclosing line to worry about."
Understandably, this leaves Jake in quite a precarious position. On one hand, the Aztec Medallion is essential in this mission. And they have it. With the current trajectory, they could get it out of Prime Evil's grasp for good. On the other hand, it is extremely unclear who will come out on top in this battle between the Rangers and the harpies. From what he can recall, the sides were either evenly matched or even, distastefully, negatively favorable.
[In the sky]
Through a cloud of smoke, Andromeda emerges to inflict a hit to Leo's right side.
"KSHHH!"
"Okay. Time to end this."
A swirl upward, followed by an extension arm downward at her opponent.
"Mega Chain Lock!"
Logically, dark blue chains appears and wrap around the still pain feeling Leo.
"Time to let the curtain fall… I say."
The end is mischievous, playful. Soon after, an arm is raised up; at the fingers tips a sphere begins to emerge. Can it be a repeat of a previous attack? Whatever the case, the dominant being now is clearly Andromeda.
[…]
"How's about this?"
Kai aims the saber bizarrely down; yet, he is nowhere close to the enemy.
"Blue Mist."
In a split second, six blue dots appear around Emeralda just to explode releasing a massive amount of smoke.
"Their progressing. Not good."
A short processing.
"Wind Splice."
The attack is dual ended: yes – it disperses the blue smoke, no – it is not the end of her getting hit. Yellow lightning crashes around her, creating a weary look aimed at the Rangers.
"Cha!"
She dodges a power slash from the Pink Ranger.
"New tactics might be necessary."
[…]
The Red Ranger could barely move out of his current predicament; in a brighter sense, at least he was not falling to the ground. Still, Apparicia's monster is seconds away from ending this fight.
"I knock him down and us 2 will make light work of the others."
Suddenly, she latches onto the sphere, feels its energy level, weighs the possibility of it not being enough.
"Splendid."
She looks down and brags:
"You'll get quite a fist with this!"
Naturally, a significant rise of fear comes to fruition. Being a leader does not prohibit or exclude one from assessing the moment in face value and reacting to it honestly.
"Great Demolition Sphere!"
She pushes her hand forward and turns to release it.
TSS! TSS! TSS!
"AAA!"
The before used blue white elegantly running inside sphere goes in a completely wrong, unwanted decision. The identity of the trespassers or interrupters soon becomes apparent.
"You Ghostbusters!"
She breathes in, filled with hatred for how she let them hit her from the blindside.
"Enough of your destruction!"
Another urge to shift the eyesight around. This time the view is even worse than previously. Why? Well,… a massive currant red sphere encapsulates her.
"Take a look at the Red Moon Catch."
"I can't stop submerging in it."
In half a dozen seconds, Andromeda is within the enormous attack. Then it brightens up. PFFFFF!
[…]
"Andromeda!"
Emeralda sees her sister: completely depleted, unable to fight anymore, falling ever faster to the ground.
"YOU!"
The emerald green harpy chooses to not focus all of her attention at the closing in Damon; rather – the potent emotions rise within her psyche, start a passionate cycle to grow callousness within.
"NOOO!"
She spreads her wings at an enormous pace.
"WE WILL NOT END HEEERE!"
One could not mistake it as anything other than a desperate, willful, passionate challenge to the current most likely outcome.
"Winds Of Infinity!"
Massive shamrock green structuralized air slams appear around the harpy. The force behind it knocks Damon, then Kai, Maya, Kendrix off their feet. Even the Ghost Buggy & Red Ranger step out of it.
"The move does not appear to be going against us in particular."
Leo would quickly prove to be correct, since the center of this attack flew Emeralda. To what end? Masterfully, she grabbed ahold of her unconscious siter Andromeda and carried her away to safety.
"Don't worry, sis. We'll redeem ourselves for Apparicia & Prime Evil in the nearby future. For now, let us focus on treating you and getting back to peak condition."
Back near the relatively small temple. The whole confrontation or, more hyperbolically said, battle royale started with one of the Ronax delivering the Aztec Medallion to Radster & Mangetox. Now it resides in the hands of Jake who opts to place it back in the temple and leave it, so that the brown-orange line does not endanger the Rangers any longer. Sure, they might have escaped their grasp with the Ghost Buggy. But again… they exhibit courage rather than fear or complacency; even with matters of the supernatural.
"All's done?!"
"Yeah!"
In a minute, the entrance to the temple shut; consequently, the mysterious enclosers disappear like dust in the wind.
"Thank you, all, for returning the medallion back to its rightful place."
"Guys, look."
Maya points her hand at the structure. It has started to sink into the ground.
"Its sinking in."
"This recent act has forced the Aztec spirits to make its accessibility or finding nearly impossible. After all, it is a testament to our culture…"
The temple becomes flat with the ground around it.
"Now it will take a being to find it close to a century."
"Yes." – Kendrix thinks proudly to herself.
"You have the right to leave peacefully before the sun sets as a token of your actions. Farewell."
In a few moments, the atmosphere around them becomes noiseless, serene.
"You were not kidding about the intensity of your missions. Their one heck of a ride."
"Truly so, Eddie." – Maya says laughingly.
"We did manage to stop Prime Evil & Trakeena from stealing the medallion."
"I just hope that the next mission for us is less active."
"Less active or less draining, Eddie?" – Kai asks feeling laid back.
"Kind of similar, isn't it?"
"You could definitely make the case for that, man."
"I'm not the biggest fan of parties, but we could throw one while we're here on Earth." – Leo suggests to everyone.
"Great idea, Leo. I've just got the place in mind."
"Without ghosts, of course?" – Kendrix asks.
"Not with any that I know of."
Everyone erupts in laughter.
