"In every story there is always balance between moralities and alignment, such as good versus evil. The two sides that have led people to make choices that will affect the people that share they share with; along the life they will have in the future. That is the purpose of Ever After High, to teach the next generation of fairy tale characters to be their best selves and follow in their parents footsteps. Including another part of the school that seeks to establish balance in their world and for the four tribes to coexist in peace. They come from the world of Perim, a world with vast about of magic to help Ever After keeping its magic flowing and letting all manners of creatures come to learn in making their own stories. Yet this semester was different, especially with several new students attending the school with their own stories they'll eventually have to follow when the time is right. However right now? Was heading to school before the bell rings."

Morning-Ever After High

It was a bright and beautiful morning on Ever After High school grounds. There were many students coming through the front doors excited to attend their classes and dreaming of having their ever after stories. Especially a girl who walked right through the doors, having perfect skin complexion and hair that shine liked the sun. Her smile warmed the students that noticed her and felt relaxed as well glad to see someone has positive as her.

"It's Apple White!"

One of the students calling out her name to which made the princess smile since she was the daughter of Snow White. One of the first princesses and soon to be future queen of the kingdom, waving to everyone greeting them with joy and laughter. It was one of her favorite things to do when seeing her fellow students, walking over to the roommate's board where the students would be bunked with. She looked excited on who she'd be with since Apple was hopping for one particular girl she would share her room with.

"Apple!"

A voice calling out from behind which caught the future queen's attention as she looked over to see her best friend as well fellow royal princess companions. Briar Beauty, daughter of sleeping beauty and source for activities to do as well social events happening at Ever After High.

"It's been too long since we've caught up since we last met in summer, looking incredibly flawless as ever. Especially myself after getting a good night's rest."

Greeting her friend as well complimenting the looks they both worked hard on in the summer since they made sure to prepare themselves for their destiny's. Hers was to take her mothers position in sleeping for several hundred years, meaning she would do many activities and spend time with her friends as much as possible.

"Well your just as flawless as me Briar, and excited for Legacy Day as I am. Especially everyone who will be attending from not just here but also Perim as well, they are going be in for quite the surprise for how we host celebrations."

Acknowledging her friend on looking amazing and that this was the first time another realm would be involved in the ceremony since it would help them with their world. It was still new for Briar on another group to be enrolling in Ever After High since in exchange for them getting stories that would help embrace their true selves, they in return would help keep the magic that's across the realm keep balance allowing others to travel here without any issues. Still, it didn't matter since everyone would be able to enjoy the event to together as well make incredible memories with one another.

"Make way!"

Shouted a boy's voice which made everyone scream at what was coming at them. Avoiding the student who have them the warning, was a hooded young man with green skin and purple markings around his arms. He was on a skateboard riding pass the students and doing several jumps around the benches, in which he laughed at how everyone was moving out of the way. Apple didn't notice as she was looking at the list of students who'd bunk with her as Briar quickly noticed the hooded skateboarder coming towards them.

"Apple! Look out!"

Warning the future queen as Apple didn't listen as she recognized the voice of the hooded skateboarder. Stopping right in front of the two princesses, the hooded boy removed his hood letting out his hair which pointed upwards as it was black with strands of white and grey hair around it, he also had purple markings on his face and smiling in a carefree manner.

"Maxxor. Shouldn't the future ruler of the overworlders come in gracefully and greet the people of my future kingdom in a royal manner?"

Apple asking the green skin boy since he was considered for position to be the leader of his tribe, the overworlders. Who were noble, loyal and always looked after all of nature and protecting it from any type of threats. Max only rolled his eyes at Apple's suggestion since she would always remind him on taking his status seriously since he would lead the overworlders in working side by side with her kingdom.

"We have different perspectives of royalty Apple. Yours is jewelry and welcoming animals across the forest as a gentle soul, mine is free spirited. Especially enjoying every moment, I have before I take my position as leader of my tribe."

Maxxor explaining that he didn't seem to care for being a leader but enjoying the moment and taking in the opportunity to have fun no matter what was happening. Much like Briar since she wanted to enjoy every second when she was awake, Apple couldn't help but smile at the creature's personality since she always found it amusing since he was different from most of the princes that value their looks and adventurous behavior. Going back to the roommate board, Maxxor noticed the anxious princess looking for her roommate who'd be bunking with her for the semester.

"For a while I've always been, 'skeptical' about human behavior as well royalty enjoying lavish objects. Looking at paper with words is the last thing I'd expect."

Questioning Apple's curiosity as he and numerous other children from Perim had begun to adapt to the world of fairy tales along with their culture. For a while he was still trying to get used to this world's fashion sense, technology and positive atmosphere that was unlike anything back in Perim.

"That's because this is legacy week, in next coming days will be getting ready to write our names in the storybook of legends and embrace our stories. Me becoming queen of the kingdom and you the new leader of the overworlders that will make peace Perim. So it's important on who my roommate is because I begged headmaster Grimm for who it'll be this year."

Explaining about how this would be the week where everyone would learn their roles for stories they'd embark on. It was also important for Maxxor since he was handpicked by most of the elders from his tribe to choose him as the new leader, so him learning about what his story would be was important. Their wizard Najarin explained to him and most of the overworld kids about how important it was to write their names in the book, it would set them on the path to make both their home and the rest of Perim safe. Maxxor saw numerous names across the board on who'd they be paired up with, yet he only cared about enjoying the place he was in.

"This legacy week has a lot of people and creatures excited. I just hope they know there others with stories that aren't so joyful like."

Reminding Apple about that while most students that would write in the book of legends would either have happily ever endings and incredible lives. There were others would have the exact opposite and becomes the stories villains or antagonists. Including individuals from his home who enjoyed causing trouble and messing with overworlders, it was briefly answered by a scream coming from the entrance as it came from one of the three little pigs.

"Runaway! It's Raven Queen!"

Screaming in fear as the two looked over seeing a girl around Apple's age with violet eyes along purple and maroon style hair. Her dress looked similar to that of dragon themed style, it made half of the student's runaway in fear due to her reputation. Briar being one of the students that were still afraid of Raven quickly ran while Apple and Maxxor took a look at the girl with different expressions, Maxxor was curious on what made her source of everyone's fear while Apple displayed a joyful personality at seeing her.

"Raven! It's so exciting to see you."

Excited to see her as she walked her to offer a hug like if they were best friends, though Raven offered a peaceful smile and decline on the hug since it was the first day at Ever After High. Maxxor was still confused that out of everyone who fled from her, Apple was glad that she came in like if she was waiting to see her.

"Feeling's mutual, I guess. Surprised that out of everyone who saw me you'd be the last one to run away."

Responding to Apple on how she wasn't afraid of her which made Maxxor curious about what she might be since most of the creatures of Perim were fearless to anything. Though he happened to notice several of them in the hallway running from Raven as well when she arrived at the front doors.

"Of course I am silly. Your apart of my story, you poison one of the apples I eat which leads to me passing out and getting my true love. Which is why I hope we run into each other because, your roommate!"

Explaining how vital Raven was to her story and that she'd be bunking with her. This surprised the violet haired girl as she walked over to check out the lists of who'd they bunk with, she saw her name next to Apple's which made her expression fall due to how they shared the same story. She was the princess, while she was her villain. Before Apple could talk about how they'd be great roommates, she heard several birds chirping by the side getting her attention.

"Sorry Raven. I'd love to talk more but I heard some birds lost their nest, have to go help them. See you back at our dorm room."

Informing her as she was able to understand the chirping due to her animal communication she learned from her mother. Heading off to help the animals, Maxxor and Raven were the only ones left in the hallway since everyone else ran off. The two didn't know what to say since it was a first for each of them in seeing either a girl who could scare anyone and a creature that didn't know who she was.

"So. I'm Maxxor, and I think need something to help explain what's going on and why everyone ran out like headless chickens."

Making a joke to help settle the moment between them as Raven found it humorous for him to try and be nice to her, it wasn't that often she'd meet someone that wasn't thinking evil things about her.

"Let's just say my family is infamous in the fairy tale community. My mother is the Evil Queen, responsible for numerous crimes amongst the kingdom and poisoning Apple's mom."

Briefing him about what made everyone afraid of her as Maxxor couldn't help but chuckle at it being the reason for her being scared. She looked skeptical about why he was laughing and gave him a look to see what was amusing for him when he heard it.

"It's nothing. It's just growing up in Perim I've met my own fair share creatures with families that aren't friendly, like this guy I know. Chaor, ever since we we're kids, we'd butt heads on who was tougher and had the better tribe, especially how he's already leader of the underworlders."

Explaining his reason why he wasn't afraid of her and about a childhood rival he grew up with which made the Evil Queen sound ordinary. Raven laughed uneasy about hearing the childhood rival as the two smelled something cooking from outside and coming closer to them. Taking a look behind Raven, Maxxor was shocked to see the same rival but bigger. Wearing a leather jacket with spikes and holding what appeared to be a roasted chicken. The demon underworlder blew smoke out of his nose at seeing Maxxor again.

"Thought I smelled someone eating a salad. As well talking to my friend while everyone ran from her."

Looking at him and claiming that Raven knew him which unfortunately she did. Maxxor looked at her to see if what he said was true since from how embarrassed she looked with Chaor standing by her side, could only mean the two are friends since she wasn't intimidated by him.

"That's a surprise you'd make friends here. All you cared about is trying to prove underworlders are better and trying to beat me. You have to prove it at a school as well?"

Questioning him about the reason for him here as the two glared at each other ready to start arguing as Raven could see the creatures preparing themselves for it. Though just before Chaor could respond, a cup of tea was place out in front of him as well Maxxor catching the boys off guard and confused at who was offering the beverages at them. Raven merely smiled at the one person in the realm that was mad enough to stand between two creatures and hang around her, Madeline Hatter.

"Now, now. There's no need to start any rough housing on the first day, it's bad banners to start the year off with violence. Best way to settle things is with tea, or with a game of crochet."

She explained to them as well having two cups of for them as they looked confused by Madeline's suggestion and not understanding what was going on. The two creatures accepted the tea and drank it quickly before getting back to staring at one another ready to see which of them would throw a punch or something to settle their differences.

"Do you have to make it sound like their enemies? They come from the same world and it's the first day, let's settle the fighting for another day okay?"

Madeline calling out to the air which had the three confused on who she was talking to. Only Raven seemed to be the only that could understand the girl as well her unusual behavior, only Maxxor took her suggestion and settles down since it was the start of the year.

"It was nice meeting you Raven. I'm curious to see what else you're capable of since your the daughter of a powerful queen."

Saving his farewells to her and Madeline while keeping quiet at Chaor as he grabbed his board and made his way out. The underworlder smirked at him backing down since it proved that he wasn't going back down because of Madeline's suggestion of not fighting, yet it earned him a glare from Raven since it felt humiliating for her to have him try and start trouble.

"I wasn't going do anything Rave. It's a Perim thing, we've both been at it for a long time. Though being ruler first is something I got over him, and when Legacy Day comes. My rule will be permanent with no one to challenge me for control."

Explaining about his rivalry with Maxxor and that he was excited for when Legacy Day happens so that he could be able to officially become the underworld leader. While he was enjoying his moment, Raven felt different otherwise about the event since it would also be the same day she'd take up her mother's position as the new evil queen. Before Chaor could continue about how he'd eventually bring down the overworlders and other tribes, his phone began to ring which had him annoyed since his friends might have gotten in trouble.

"Apparently some underworlders are trying eat the three little piggies. Should stop them before get a bite to eat, will meet up later."

Saying his farewell to her and Madeline heading out to handle his own business with his people. The look on Raven's face slowly fell about hearing Legacy Day since she wasn't comfortable for the role she was given, especially how once she wrote her name in the book than her whole life would be planned out with her having no control over it. Keeping her thoughts to herself, Raven was interrupted with Madeline appearing right in front of her with a smile causing the sadden girl to change her mood as she couldn't get upset when Madeline was around.

"Your friendship with me and Chaor is positively exciting! Or maybe the sign of evil and the world ending if you both sign your names in the book. Still, one thing you have is friends that'll stand by your side, as well in time for tea."

Giving Raven a strange response of that being friends with the ruler of the underworld was either dangerous or amazing since they had a different perspective for when Legacy Day came. Seeing how they had to head to their dorm rooms to start getting ready to make Ever After High their home, the two made their way while thinking about how the rest of the day would go for them as well everyone who was starting the school year.

Later-Ceremony Stand

With classes going underway and the students adjusting to the school grounds of Ever After High, a select group of individuals was gathered at the ceremony stand where it would hold the Legacy Day event. There would be hundreds of students gathering to witness the event and the elders of Perim from all four tribes to see how it would turn out. Standing in front of them was the headmaster, Milton Grimm. Who stood at attention in front of the new year students as he shared an optimistic look for each of them preparing to embrace their destines.

"I know it's early for you all to be here when it's several days before Legacy Day starts. It's important that you all learn the urgency of being here in front of your fellow classmates and creatures, each of you has a unique purpose. Either big or small, your stories will affect everyone in the kingdom and in Perim."

Informing the students how important the ceremony was for both worlds and that their roles would help others either to be inspired or feared. Each of the students were called to the stand each had parents that were important to the fairy tale community, much the same for the children of Perim as they looked at the podium where the book would be place and for them to write their name within the pages.

"So, when your magical key appears, you insert it gently into the Storybook of Legends, then stand, shoulders back, and declare your destiny to the world! Have I made myself clear?"

Asking any of them if they understood how it would go down, which left most of them to understand the simple method to it. Having an assistant bring out a textbook to represent the storybook of legends, he invited each of the students to participate in announcing their name and the role they would enroll. Chaor rose his hand up making sure he'd be the first in line, leaving the headmaster to let the young man walk to the podium where he would show what he'd do on Legacy Day.

"I Chaor, ruler of the Underworld. Pledge to continue my reign as it's leader and conquer my foes with no mercy! And let all of Perim know that underworld reigns supreme!"

Making his declaration and being dramatic as most of the students didn't know how to respond since his destiny would have everyone see him as a conqueror. Along that there were two other creature students that represented the other two tribes, the danians that were insect based and the mipedians that were reptile based. The Danian was Odu-Bathax who had four arms as well a soldier in training for his hive, the Mipedian was Mudeenu. A prince amongst his people as well to be leading them once he wrote his name in the book.

"Thank you Chaor for that unique speech. Now then, who else would like to go?"

Headmaster Grimm asking the other pledge as they each began to go up to the podium announcing their names and titles. There around twelve students who Grimm called upon as they announced their unique destinies on the podium, from Hunter Huntsman declaring to be the huntsman to Chad Charming being bold and daring like his father. Everyone seemed positive on the roles they played, only Maxxor and Raven were left as Milton looked over to see which of the two would come up onto the podium.

"Royalty first."

Maxxor allowing her to go first as Raven merely stood up as she was hesitant about practicing on her announcement. Feeling everyone's eyes on her along the headmaster, Raven tried her best to say her pledge but only to think of something else to say under the distress that was building up inside of her.

"Headmaster Grimm. Exactly what would happen if someone didn't take their pledge?"

Asking a question that didn't referred to her but speaking out in general which caused most of the students to look shocked at the question. While for the Perim children showed a curious look due to how they noticed that it wasn't a common thing amongst the kingdom, Milton Grimm calmed the students down from getting scared as he decided to entertain Raven's question about not signing the book.

"Raven, if there was such a person who didn't write their name into the book. Their story would cease to exist, meaning that person. Would cease to exist."

Doing his best to not make it sound terrible, but only failed as it made Raven almost afraid about if she didn't take her pledge. Much to Maxxor's dismay since it might connect to the overworlders and possibly the other tribe members. Noticing the other's reactions and the look on Grimm's face of the question she said, Raven made her way off the stage as it seemed that she might be the one that didn't want to take the pledge. Seeing how the commotion caused a ruckus, the headmaster decided to have the students return to their dorm rooms since it was becoming intense. Yet this left the future overworld leader to question about the pledge and the creatures of Perim signing their names in the storybook of legends.

Later-Night Time

With the first day now settled and things seemed already tensed as it was back in Perim. Amongst the many rooms that homed the students and creatures of both worlds, Maxxor was having a conversation with Perim's wisest of wizards along the one who predicted him to be the Overworld's next leader. Najarin, high muge of the overworld as well keeper of Perim history up to where they made contact with the fairy tale kingdom. He was being informed about the incident that happened today along Raven questioning about what would about if she rejected her pledge, especially how this could affect the creatures that came from Perim who would sign their names within the book.

"While it was never brought about what would happen if one being didn't sign their name into the book. It shouldn't be that much to think about, she must be afraid of her role from what you've told me about. As well her heart not being in it."

Giving his response to what was happening and that it might not make the others cease to exist. Yet it didn't satisfy Maxxor due to how he wasn't there when he saw Raven at the podium, knowing that her destiny would be to a terrible plague on the kingdom and for everyone to hate her in the process.

"But it can't be change, can it? It's written in book it is her fate, much like mine is to be the new tribe leader."

Questioning that if their fates are permanent despite that there was a solution to change anything. Najarin could see the distress that grew on the young man since it was an important moment for him, especially how others that are at the school have a part in their stories for Perim.

"Every story that is said may be written, but there's always room to add something new. I believe Raven will find her answer to this ordeal, much like yourself Maxxor."

Offering an optimistic choice in words for him to think on that not every story can be as gloomy as hers. Especially how that even if it is written, it was up to her to add something to it. He could only for Raven that she finds her path before Legacy Day comes, feeling assured from the wizard he hands up as he was about to head to bed. Not knowing right by the bathroom was someone in it, he was focused on conversation he didn't notice anyone coming in. Gripping his fist to summon an attack, he saw the door open which was none other than Chaor who was apparently his roommate as Maxxor noticed his stuff on the other side of the room.

"For the guy who's possibly going be my enemy. You're slow at noticing things."

Telling his future enemy as he walked over to settled in while Maxxor was trying to gather his thoughts after thinking that this wasn't coincidence. That this might be a part of his story, much to his dismay since the last person he'd expect to be bunked with was Chaor. Though it was the beginning of the year, so he could hope that rest of the next several days wouldn't be difficult to manage. Especially thinking about what Raven said about avoiding her story since the outcome could be unfortunate for both the fairy tale kingdom and Perim, though that outcome will have to be managed another day.
