New chapter! It only took like what? 3 months? Well anyway, I wanted to mention something before this chapter actually starts. I had been making updates and changes to previous chapters. Some of these changes range from minor spelling/grammar mistakes being fixed, to additional details being added to improve already existing scenes, to a full blown extra scene in the previous chapter. The reason behind this is because when I went back and reread my story, I felt like it was missing some things. I would recommend going back and rereading the previous chapters but that's ultimately for you to decide. Anyway, I appreciate everyone who reviewed in the past. And now for the obligatory disclaimer.

I don't own Undertale or Doubletale. Now, let's start the party!

Flash.

I quickly noticed that I was sitting back on the throne. My cigarette back in between my fingers as my hands rested on the pommel of Merciless, which was back in the ground I drove it through.

I looked ahead as those footsteps echoed through the room. Chara stood at the entrance again.

"What the hell was that!?" Chara asked, as they glared right at me.

"Just a little taste of what you'll have to go through if you wanna get through me." I smirked, before taking a short inhale and exhale from my cigarette. "That is unless you wanna turn tail and run."

It was silent between us for a bit. Though as I waited for an answer, the tension felt like it was growing.

"Hahaha…" They laughed.

"Hahahaha!" They raised their hand, covering their face as their laugh rang through the room.

"Why would I ever do that?" Chara questioned. "You've just made things a whole lot more interesting."

"I knew you had something. I felt that potential within you since we first met."

I glared at them, tightening the grip on my sword.

"But this?" Chara said, as they swung their arms to the sides. "This is better than I imagined! You're not some big disappointment after all!"

"You're a demon, just like me."

"I mean it Chara." Annoyed by their statement, I stood up from the throne, pulling my sword out of the ground, holding it in my right hand. "I'm giving you one last chance."

I dropped my cigarette on the ground and stomped it out underneath my boot.

"Turn back now, RESET this whole thing!" I demanded, swinging my left arm to the side. "And maybe I won't kill you a thousand more times."

"Turn back?" Chara questioned. "...Hahahahaha… Hahahahahaha!"

They just laughed it off as some joke. They clearly don't give a damn with what I have to say.

"Turning back isn't an option, Aiden." Chara then pointed their knife at me, with an evil grin on their face, their eyes oozing a black substance. "I'm going to finish this. And you aren't gonna stop me."

Chara clearly isn't going to listen to me. I figured my first move would've been a clear enough warning. But now they just want more.

So I'll give it to them. Give them exactly what they want.

"Fine. But before things kick off, I got just one question for you."

I slowly approach them, dragging the tip of Merciless' blade across the ground, as it audibly scrapes across. I stopped just a few feet in front of them.

"When you finally decide to stay dead, which would you rather end up in?" I raise Merciless up, pointing the tip straight at Chara. "A coffin… or a dumpster?"

Chapter 6: Duel of Demons

"Feel free to die when you've had enough."

The Time Has Come from Devil May Cry 4 starts playing.

Chara charges towards me. As they close in they swing their knife up at me as I dodge to the left. They then swing their knife back at me again, as I catch their blade with my own. I knock their knife away and kick them right in the chest, knocking them away skidding back on their feet.

I charge in their direction, as Chara quickly draws the Empty Gun and fires off a few shots. The crimson shots zero in on me, but I quickly raise my sword and block the bullets with my blade.

As I get close, I swing my sword down, only for Chara to block it as the blade collides with the barrel of the gun. They then knock my sword away and jab the gun right towards my face. I lean my head to the side right as they pull the trigger, the gun now beside my head. I quickly draw one of my Ombra Twins and point the gun right in their face.

Though as I pulled the trigger, they were more than quick enough to not have a bullet to the face twice in a row as they quickly jumped to the side.

I then bolted towards Chara once more, scrapping my sword behind me as I closed in. I swing my sword up then back down, as they blocked it with their knife. The room filled with the sound of metallic clanging of our blades clashing against each other with each swing. The blade of Chara's knife slides across my own blade as they take a spin and step back, pull their knife back, and lunge straight towards me.

Though their attack was quickly stopped, as I swing my sword up, knocking Chara's knife out of their hands. I then sliced Merciless across their body from left to right, then swing left again as I spiral around, cutting through them with each spin I made. I then swing my sword up, sending us both into the air. I then carve my sword through Chara a few times, before planting my boot in their chest, sending them into the wall behind them.

Chara falls down to the ground, grunting as they tried to pick themselves up. They hold themselves up by their hands as they look up, shocked to see Merciless' dark blade come crashing down onto them.

SLASH!

Blood flies through the air, only to come back down to earth, painting the floor in a dark red. Chara's body lay face down, as I lift my blood covered sword from them.

"Well, that makes two for me." I hold my sword over my shoulder as I watch their red soul rise from their body.

Shatter.

*A familiar feeling.

Flash.

"I'm already getting a head start." I shot a smirk at Chara, as I leaned back on the throne. I then inhale and exhale smoke from my cigarette. "There's no shame in giving up now."

"After two deaths?!" Chara yelled out. "You'd think I'd quit after that?! We're just getting started!"

"Yeah I figured." I shrugged, dropping my cigarette.

I stood up from the throne as Chara made a beeline towards me. I did the same, and as we closed in on each other, Chara lunged forward and swung that knife of theirs down as I leaned to the left to dodge.

Chara landed back on their feet, skidding across until they pulled out the empty gun in their right hand, and fired a few crimson shots at me.

I quickly turned around, drawing my twin pistols and blocked each of their shots with my own, as crimson and scarlet sparks emanated from where they collided.

As we closed in on each other, we clashed our blades together until after one of their swings, Chara switched their knife out for the Burnt Pan. They swing it up at Merciless' descending blade.

My eyes widened as my sword recoiled off of the pan. I swing my sword back down as Chara raises it up, blocking my blade from reaching them.

Chara then pushes my sword away and swings the pan right into my face. It sends me flying back until I land facing up on the ground.

Despite getting a face full of pan, I quickly push myself off the ground and land back on my own feet. I place my hand against my face as I wince in pain. Couldn't believe that a damn frying pan could block my sword.

Guess it's time to bring out the big guns.

We charge at each other once more. I grab Merciless with both hands. Chara swings their pan up to meet Merciless' blade.

But as it descends, it changes form in a flash of red. The axe Desolation crashed down onto the pan, shattering it as it broke through. Chara was shocked to see that all that was left of their pan was a broken piece connected by a handle.

"What the-" They were cut short as I swung the axe into their torso, knocking them away to where they landed in front of the throne.

Chara brings themself to their knees, holding the gash on the side of their torso. They look at me with a grimace look on their face.

I lift Desolation above my head as the gem on top glows red, and swing down as the axe head is sent hurling towards Chara.

Chara's eyes widen as they manage to move just out of the axe head's path. It flies straight through Asgore's throne and crashes into the wall behind it.

Chara then picks themself off the ground and looks back at the heavy projectile that nearly hit them. They also noticed that Asgore's throne had been split in half, and the two pieces fell opposite ways of each other.

The axe head then disappears in a red flash and returns back to its handle. I hold the heavy weapon over my shoulder, and stretch out my left hand.

"Come on!" I say as I mockingly beckon to Chara. "Is that all you got?"

Chara bolts towards me, knife in hand. And they look pissed.

Though before they even had a chance to get close, I raise Desolation above my head and swing it into the ground. A crack in the ground formed as pieces of it shot up as the crack traveled to its target.

Chara's eyes widened as the crack reached them. The ground quaked underneath them as a red light burst through the crumbling earth, flinging them into the air.

I quickly run forward as I put Desolation on my back, and draw my twin pistols. I unload my rounds into Chara as I slide underneath them.

As I slide out from underneath Chara, I grab Desolation as they fall, and swing the hefty weapon into their gut. The swing's momentum causes me to spin a couple times before Chara is thrown off the head of the axe.

Chara rolls back as they land. Once they stop, they don't even move. Their soul rises from their body.

"Guess I win again." I put Desolation over my shoulder as I watched their red soul rise.

Shatter.

*A feeling of strength.

Flash.

"That's three for me and what?" I look at Chara with a smirk on my face. I then flick my cigarette behind me. "You got nothing?"

"Shut it!" In a quick motion, Chara drew the revolver, aiming directly at me.

Before they could even pull the trigger, I stood up from the throne and swung Merciless at them. Just like the rest, it flashed in a red light as the blade and crossguard turned into the snake-like grappling hook Serpent.

The claw extended out towards Chara, grabbing onto the six-shooter they held. Their eyes widened to see the claw gripped around their firearm.

I pull Serpent back, forcefully taking the empty gun out of their hand. The claw lets go of the gun, as I raise my left hand to catch it mid-flight.

"What a nice piece you got." I inspect the revolver before looking back at Chara. "Too bad you won't be needing it."

I toss the revolver to the side as it lands on the ground with a clank. Chara growled in frustration.

"Whatever!" Chara yelled out as they brandished their knife. "I don't need a gun to kill you!"

"Then you might need some help getting close." I swung Serpent forward, Chara's eyes widened as the claw latched around their torso.

I pulled back as hard as I could, as Chara was lifted right off the ground. As they were being pulled towards me, the claw let go, yet they still continued to soar in my direction.

I jump into the air as I spin, pulling my leg back before planting my boot right into Chara's chest, sending them back flying the way they came from.

I land on the ground as I watch Chara fly back. They flipped their knife around, blade facing down. They land skidding back in a kneel, with their knife driven into the ground in order to stop themselves from being set back further.

Chara glared ahead as I looked back, beckoning them to make their next move.

They then dashed towards me. I gripped my sword as it transformed into its spear form, Skewer. I waited for Chara to get close, then I would make my move.

Once Chara thought they were within stabbing range, they pulled their knife back, only to be interrupted as I swung Skewer's blunt end across their face, causing them to stumble back.

I swung Skewer above my head around as I spiraled counter clockwise. Once I faced Chara again, I used the momentum to swing Skewer's bladed end across Chara's chest. They grunted as the tip cut through their torso, and jumped back as I swung my spear back to the right.

I leapt forward as I raised my spear above my head, before swinging it down on Chara. But they moved just out of the way, as they sidestepped to their left.

Chara then lunged back at me with their knife, but I leaned back as they flew over me, their knife missing their target by only a couple inches.

Chara landed back on their feet as I stood back up off the ground. I then transform Skewer back into Serpent, and swing the claw in their direction as the chain slithers towards them.

Chara turned around, their eyes widening as their torso had once again been latched onto by the claw of the snake-like grappling hook. They then quickly switched their knife out for their pair of Tough Gloves, and grabbed onto Serpent's chain. "Oh no you don't!"

Chara then pulled on the chain with all their might, lifting me off the ground and pulling me towards them as I still held onto Serpent's handle. I didn't really want my face to meet their fist so with quick thinking, I had Serpent retract itself backwards. The gem glowed as I was suddenly pulled faster towards Chara.

They had cocked their fist back, ready to throw their punch. But their punch was interrupted with a shoulder check shattering their nose from their incoming target that reached them faster than they realized.

As Chara stumbled back, I landed on the ground and ducked down as I pulled my fist back. Chara opened their eyes, looking at me in disbelief as I shot them a smirk, then threw a powerful uppercut into their face.

Chara was sent straight up off the ground as my fist rammed into their face. I then followed them into the air as I jumped. Once I matched their altitude, I grabbed the back end of Skewer and swung the bladed end right through their torso, spinning around as Skewer slices through them once again. I then grab my spear with both hands as I carve through them again, and pull my leg back as I spin kick, slamming my boot right into their face.

I then pulled Skewer back as the scarlet light glowed from its gem in the spearhead. Despite them being out of reach, I thrust my spear towards Chara, as they looked back at their attacker. Though they had no time to react.

THUNK!

Blood soared through the air as Chara hunched over, snarling in pain as Skewer had extended itself to pierce just below their sternum and out their back. I then lifted my spear overhead as it shrunk, pulling Chara closer to me. I then aim my spear and Chara down at the ground as we plummeted below. As we hit the floor, Skewer had driven itself deeper through their torso as the crash knocked whatever life was left out of Chara.

I then stood up, forcefully pulling Skewer out of both the ground and Chara's chest, flinging a bit of blood out the hole that had been punched through them.

"Another score for me." I held Skewer behind me, as blood dripped from its tip and landed on the ground. I then look down at Chara's lifeless body as their soul rises from it once again.

Shatter.

*Power.

Flash.

The music fades out.

"Four to zero." I stood up from the throne as I inhaled and exhaled the smoke from my cigarette. "You still wanna keep on trying?"

"Oh you know I'm not gonna give up that easily!" Chara wore that confident smirk on their face before raising their knife back at me. "Besides, I'm excited to see what else you got up your sleeves!"

I dropped the cigarette I had and crushed it underneath my boot again.

"You know, I bet you feel great knowing you have that kind of power." Chara said as they lowered their knife.

"It's not bad." I held my sword up, looking up and down its blade all the way to the scarlet gem in the center of its crossguard. I then pointed the tip of the blade at Chara as I continued speaking. "Plus it makes killing you a helluva lot easier."

"Does it now?" Chara raised a brow yet still keeping that smirk on them.

"I'll give you another example." I dashed towards Chara, scraping my sword along the ground.

As I get close I swing my sword up towards them as they dodge. I then swing my sword right only for them to duck underneath it.

Chara swings their knife at me as I swing Merciless back at them. Our blades collide and lock together, scraping against each other.

"You know, I bet you would've liked that kind of power a lot sooner." Chara said despite locking blades with me.

"What are you on about?" I push Chara's knife away as I hold my sword up and transform it into Desolation. Grabbing it with both hands I bring the heavy axe down with all my strength. Chara jumps back just as the axe crashes into the ground in front of them, breaking it from the axe's sheer force.

"You tried to save Papyrus, which got him killed." Chara went on as I ran towards them, carrying the hefty weapon behind me. I swing my axe up at them as they dodge back. I spin as I swing my axe back down. As Chara dodges to their left to avoid being crushed by the second swing, they keep on talking. "You nearly died trying to save Monster Kid, which ended up putting him in harm's way."

This is getting annoying. I just want them to shut up.

"You're point being?" I transform my axe into Skewer, duck down and spin as I swing my spear at their legs in an attempt to trip them. They jump over the spear easily, back flipping away as they land perfectly on their feet. I quickly stand back up and thrust my spear as it almost instantly extends towards Chara.

But Chara was quick enough to dodge this time, as they sidestepped to their left, watching the tip of the spear become embedded into the wall behind them. They then dashed towards me, readying their knife.

*Don't let them get to you.

"All you've done since you got here is get people killed or put in danger." Chara then leapt forward as they swung their knife down at me, but I leaned out of the knife's path just before it reached me. I turn around, watching Chara as they land and turn back to face me. "I just wonder… How many people died because of how weak you were."

My scarlet eyes widen as they say that.

"Just shut up already!" I quickly put my sword away, draw my guns, the Ombra Twins, and open fire, sending scarlet bolts of DETERMINATION racing towards them.

However Chara just as quickly drew their Empty Gun, and fired their own crimson DT bolts. Our bolts of DT collided into each other as we kept firing. Countless scarlet and crimson sparks bursting into the air.

*Your memories of them will drag you down.

"So who were they?" Chara egged on as they kept on firing their gun, as more and more DT bolts created a fireworks show between us. "Close friends? Family? It had to have been someone close for it to keep bothering you so much."

"I don't wanna talk about it! Learn to take a hint!" I run towards them as I keep shooting. Chara also runs towards me as they keep shooting. As we got close, I jumped over Chara and fired straight down on them. Chara slid on their knees, leaning up to shoot back up at me. Our shots still colliding mid-air as we moved past each other. I front flip to land back on my feet and quickly turn around as Chara stands up to turn and face me.

"You know what I think?" Chara's confident smirk shifts into a malicious grin. "I think you're nothing but deadweight!"

"I said shut the hell up!" In a fit of rage, I draw Merciless and make a break towards them. I pull my sword back and swing down on them. Chara raises their knife to block my sword as they clang together.

I just kept on swinging my sword down onto their knife. All I could think about was wanting them dead. That would shut them up. At least for a little bit. Though I'm getting nowhere by just swinging like this. I then pull my sword back and swing up, knocking the knife right out of their hand as it flies upwards.

I then pull Merciless back, pointing the tip of the blade right at them. I then lunged forward, thrusting my sword right at their chest.

Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion as Merciless nearly impaled them. But Chara jumps to their left, dodging the oncoming impalement. Chara then pulls their leg back and throws a spin kick right into the back of my head.

The kick sends me flying as I land face first into the ground. Chara lands just fine as they raise their left hand to catch their knife.

I flip myself over as they run towards me. I swing my sword in a futile attempt to retaliate. But Chara stomps on my wrist, sending it back down onto the ground. A horrible pain fills my wrist as I hear an awful crunch come from it. I yell in pain only to be quickly shut up as I look back at Chara, who now had their empty gun pointed right at me.

"How pathetic."

BANG!

Shatter.

When I opened my eyes, I quickly realized that I wasn't in the throne room anymore. Instead I was greeted with a hellish looking sky as tall buildings peaked out from the corners of my eyes.

I stood up off the cold hard ground, and looked around to see myself in a familiar looking city. But it was different. The buildings were broken into multiple huge pieces, floating above and around each other. Some in half, some in thirds, some even more than that. Chunks of concrete, metal, and whatever was flying through the air. The poles of street signs and lamps that mostly stood up straight were now curled up and twisted.

City blocks and sections of the road were broken off and floating above nothing. The previously mentioned sky was painted red, though it was hard to see through the large black clouds that always loomed over this shithole. At least that was consistent with what I remembered.

I then walked towards the end of the broken street, stopping right at the edge as tiny pieces of asphalt fell down into the red nothingness below. I then looked forward, noticing that the next floating street chunk was way out ahead, separated by a huge gap that I had no way of getting across. I kept looking around at the broken city, still confused by my familiar yet different surroundings.

"What the hell is this?" My voice echoed as I held my arms out to the side. "My own personal hell?"

"More of a personal limbo rather than hell."

The voice caught my attention. It sounded like mine, but… distorted and slightly deeper. I then turned around to see a shadowy figure standing ahead of me. The figure even looked like me, albeit completely black as what appeared to be darkness emanating from him. His eyes were something I could only describe as demonic. The whites of his eyes were black, his pupils were slit vertically, and his irises glowed a scarlet red.

"Oh great." I stared at my shadowy doppelganger. He stared back, standing there with his arms crossed, and a look that could only read as disappointment. "What do you want?"

"Just a chat is all."

"What is there to talk about?" My eyes narrowed at him. Honestly, I'd rather just be put back in the throne room with Chara than deal with this guy's bullshit.

"They turned your memories of them against you." My doppelganger said coldly as he tilted his head to the side. "You were blinded with rage, and Chara took advantage of that."

"That's not it." I excused. "I… should've realized that they would've been ready for that same attack again."

"Surrre. That's exactly why you ended up with a bullet lodged in your brain." He tapped his finger on his… my(?) forehead? And his sarcastic remark just did nothing but piss me off.

"Look you can just keep telling yourself lies and shit or you can man up and face the truth. And honestly, I'd prefer the latter."

"What truth?"

"That your memories of them dying are bringing you down." My doppelganger lowered his arms as his eyes squinted. "All you're doing is beating yourself up over something that you had no control over."

I didn't say anything. Instead, I just stood there, clenching my fists as he went on.

"If only you had just listened to me and forgot about it, you wouldn't be dead, and we wouldn't be having this damn conversation."

"You really think it's that easy?" I looked down, holding my eyes shut, my throat starting to get sore from holding tears back. "To forget something like that?"

Around me were their faint bodies. Her body… his body… both dead on the ground at either side of me.

I then raised my head back up and looked ahead.

He stood there. His cyan eyes stared deep into mine as he held that blank expression on his face. If I could just watch him die again I would revel in it.

But then, their bodies disappeared. He disappeared. Leaving just me and my doppelganger alone together.

"Forgetting the past is the only way to move forward."

"You really think that's how it works!?" I snapped at my doppelganger. I then started to stomp towards him. "To just forget? To just pretend like it never happened? I tried that and it's not that fucking easy!"

I then stopped in front of him, getting into his face as he didn't even flinch.

"I had to watch them die, and all I wished for was the strength to be able to save them! They meant everything to me!" My hands clamped onto my doppelganger's shoulders as I looked straight into his demonic eyes. "But I had to watch them die! The people I cared about the most, I had them ripped away from me!"

I then looked down, as tears trickled down the sides of my face. A pained gasp left my lungs. My doppelganger just looked down at me, unfazed with what's happening.

"Maybe Chara was right. You are deadweight after all."

My head shot up, looking straight back at him. I became filled with rage hearing that word again. I then pulled my fist back and sent it to him as I clocked him right in the face. He stumbled back, falling down to a knee as he looked back up at me.

"You can keep your shitty coping methods, because they're not working for me!" I looked down at him. I had to use an excessive amount of self-control to keep myself from attacking him again.

I started walking forward and as I passed him, I hoped that I would end up somewhere that wasn't here.

"Fine."

I stopped in my tracks, but I didn't dare look back at him.

"Cling to the past all you want. I don't give a shit." He stood up off the ground, and turned towards me. "But at least hear me out on this."

"…" I just stood there, waiting to hear whatever shit he had to say next.

"Instead of letting your memories of them dying drag you down, use the memory of him to your advantage."

"What?" Confused by what they said, I turned around to face the shadowy doppelganger. As I looked at him, I watched a malevolent smile grow across his face.

*Embrace your inner demon, and use our hatred of him to end them!

Flash.

I was back in the Throne Room. Sitting back on the king's throne, smoke rising from the cigarette in my hand, and my sword planted firmly in the ground in front of me. Something I'll need to get used to.

"Well, you took your time getting back here." Chara's voice echoed through the Throne Room, grabbing my attention. I looked up and saw them standing in the entrance like the past few times. "I was gonna be disappointed if you just gave up after that."

I didn't bother to give them a response. I just narrowed my eyes as I stared at them. Waiting for their next move or whatever shit that leaves their mouth next.

"So, wanna open up about your problems or-"

"Fuck you."

"Damn, I really pinched a nerve didn't I?" Chara smirked as they said that. "I just wanna get to know you Aiden. Start a conversation with you."

"Yeah, because prying into people's personal business is a great conversation starter." I said sarcastically. I then stood up off the throne, pulling my sword out of the ground. "Why the hell do you even want to get to know me anyway?"

"Because I got to be best friends with everyone else before I killed them." Chara said that like it was some grand achievement of their's.

"Good for you." I then dropped my cigarette on the ground, crushed it underneath my boot, like I've done before. "I bet that made it much easier for you to stab them in their backs."

I then dashed towards Chara, scraping Merciless' tip along the ground. Chara followed suit as they charged towards me, holding their knife behind them.

As we got close, Chara leapt forward, pulling their knife back. I skid to stop and leaned to my right to avoid having a knife shoved into my left shoulder. But as Chara lands, they quickly follow it up with a slash to the left, which also misses as I lean back to avoid having my chest carved open.

I then pull back Merciless and swing to my left as Chara ducks underneath my blade. Chara goes low as we both spin at the same moment. At the same time we pull our legs back as I jump over Chara's sweep kick as they duck underneath my spin kick.

We both spin one more time as I land back on the ground and Chara stands back up. As we turn to face each other, our blades lock together with a clang that rings through the throne room.

"Well," Chara grunted as our blades scraped across each other. "I barely know anything about you! All I know is that you're a killer!"

"Good observation." As if that wasn't anymore obvious. "You want a prize for that?"

My sarcastic remark just did nothing but put a frown on their face.

"All I'm saying is, this is the first time I've gotten to actually talk to you." Their smirk quickly returned as they said that.

"Well then here's an idea." We push each other off of our blades, both of us jumping back to put some distance between us. "You RESET this whole shin dig and maybe I'll think about telling you some things about me."

I raise my sword with both hands as I transform it into Desolation, and swing the heavy weapon down, hurling the axe head towards them.

"I'd rather talk now!" Chara jumps out of the weighty projectile's way and draws their revolver in their right hand. They fire the six-shooter, sending crimson bolts my way. I draw my Ombra Twins and fire scarlet bolts to meet Chara's. The bolts collide as another fireworks show ignites between us. "We got all the time in the world anyway!"

As the sparks clear between us, we dash towards each other again. After the axe head reappeared on Desolation's handle, I transformed it into Skewer. I swing my spear up when we reach each other, as Chara dodges to their right to avoid the bludgeon that threatened to smack their chin.

"What are you on about?" I then swing my spear right as Chara ducks underneath it. I then follow through as I spiral counterclockwise as Chara continues to duck underneath the spear as I spin it around and above me.

I go in for a low attack with my spear as I aim a forceful swing at their legs. Chara jumps over it but their relief was short lived as I slammed a kick into their gut, sending them flying back.

I then pull Skewer back and thrust it forward as the spear quickly extends to pierce through Chara. But they lean back as the spearhead just barely misses them, embedding itself into the wall at the far end of the room. Chara backflips to where their front is parallel to the floor, and aims their gun right at me. They pull the trigger, a crimson bolt soaring past me as I lean my head to the side. Chara then lands back on their feet just fine as I return Skewer to its original length, and transform it back into Merciless.

"Think about it. If you hadn't showed up, none of this would be happening." Chara held their arms out to their sides as they explained. "I would've killed Sans, then Asgore, then Flowey, and then restart everything over just to do it all over again."

"Has it ever occurred to you that you could stop at any moment?" I argued back. I still don't understand why they'd wanna go through with this.

"Well now I don't have to!" Their eyes were wide. Their face read something like some sick twisted sense of excitement. "Don't you see? The fight with Papyrus! The extra interactions in Waterfall! The fight with Grillby! You gave me something new to enjoy, instead of repeating the same stuff over and over again."

"Well you're still stuck with me," I then pointed Merciless at them as I continued my threat. "Whether you like it or not."

"You think that's a bad thing to me?" Chara scoffed. "You gave me something new! You're the best part of this run!"

My eyes narrowed as they said that. It was then I realized that they were right. When I first dropped down here, when I made my move in the first fight of our eternal duel, I gave them exactly what they wanted.

"And if you think some eternal deathmatch is gonna be enough to get me to quit, then you've got another thing coming." Chara's crimson soul then appeared on their chest, as my scarlet soul appeared on mine. "We're the same, remember?"

We were both DETERMINATION souls, both intent on ending each other, and both planning to come back after each meetup with death.

"ETERNITY MEANS NOTHING TO AN IMMORTAL GOD!"

BANG!

Chara's expression was still filled with joy, as they looked down to see the hole punched through their chest. They then looked back to see the gun in my left hand, as smoke rose from its barrel, and the scarlet energy swirling around it and my arm dissipated.

"Ha… h-ha ha…"

Chara then stumbled back a bit as their legs grew weak and eventually gave out on them. They then fell to the ground looking straight up at the ceiling as blood poured from the scarlet bolt's exit wound.

I then walked towards them, giving my gun a spin before putting it back in my jacket. I rest Merciless' blade on my shoulder as I step into the left side of their view and loom over them.

"Some god you are." I mocked as I looked down at them. "You know, in some ways you remind me of someone."

"I hated him."

"Was he like us… A demon…?" Chara asked as their crimson eyes weakly moved to look into my scarlet eyes.

I stood there, trying to think of the exact words I wanted to use to describe him. But then it hit me.

"More like a false angel. The type of guy to be all nice and shit, gain your trust over the years, get you to think he was your friend…" I then scowled before the next words left my mouth.

"Then he wouldn't hesitate to make a heel turn, and take everything from you."

"I think you two have a lot more in common than what we do." I said as I quickly pointed between the both of us before letting my arm drop back down.

"You really… think so?" Chara then coughed blood into the air as they tried to speak. "You and I are… m-more alike than you think…"

"Sure, you can think that all you want. We're both killers, we're both demons." Hatred was boiling within me, as I looked down at my prey. "But to me…"

My grip on Merciless was tightening to the point my knuckles were hurting. I slowly raised the handle of Merciless, slightly lifting the blade off my shoulder.

"We're nothing alike."

SLASH!

Shatter.

"..." I looked down at Chara's corpse as the side of my blade was buried halfway down their neck. I pulled it out, as blood poured out the huge gash in their neck. I held Merciless to my side, letting the dark substance trickle down and drop onto the ground below.

*Make sure you're the only demon left standing.

And that's it for now. The eternal deathmatch between Aiden and Chara continues. You can probably tell that Aiden is no longer taking shit from anyone anymore. But how will this affect his Chara? I guess you'll find out in the next chapter. But until then, please consider favoriting, following, and/or reviewing.

Anyway, I'm Fixer140.85, and I'll catch ya' whenever the next chapter comes out!
