Been a little while, but we're finally back to this story, and we hope you'll enjoy this rather... chaotic chapter

Trust me, it's quite the experience.

Days remaining: 63

The door was slammed closed behind Ryuko as she came in after the rest of the group "God I freaking hate prank calling morons."

"That and the ones who think we're like those idiotic ghost hunting shows." Taiki added with a snort "Always annoying when we get calls from those jackasses."

"Seeing you two punch their teeth in was pretty satisfying though." Coyote said with a smirk as he sat down in a chair.

"While those people are certainly annoying, if nothing else, we've done well in gathering the Eyecons so far," Alain sighed. "We've collected six of the needed Eyecons with two remaining in Spectre's hands. We're already halfway there and you still have 2 months worth of time," he said encouragingly.

"That's true," Taiki chuckled. "Guess we've gotta keep up the pace then," he said before turning to Yurusen. "Picked up anything yet?"

Yurusen hummed a bit. "Well, I think I sensed something from that hospital we were passing…though I should mention hospitals kind of always have a certain energy to them. Same with cemeteries," she said.

"Morbid." Ryuko said in deadpan, "But I guess that's better than just sitting on our asses and waiting for a call." she said as they all got up again and left their base, heading back out into the city.

Meanwhile…

Just a bit before noon… not the most active time for a bar, at least not for most bars, but this one made due by having frozen lunches it sold to clients that came in hungry, which was just fine with her. Place was pretty cheap anyway.

Oh sure, she'd much prefer to be eating a proper meal, because cheap pasta tasted cheap, but there was nothing she could do about that.

As she ate the meal quietly, only a few other patrons at the bar, she barely paid any attention to the sound of the door opening and someone coming in… at least until she felt them stop next to her and she turned her head to look, seeing someone wearing sunglasses, a medical mask, a ballcap, a hoodie, gloves, basically, fully equipped to hide their features.

Scoffing as she finished her meal, she leaned back into her seat, scowling at what she was pretty sure was a young man "Listen buddy, I know I look exotic and all that, but if you think I'm THAT kind of woman, take your moronic ass back outside before I boot it there myself." she told him in annoyance, her accent thick.

"Oh I'm not here for that," he said. "Though I have been looking for you, on behalf of a friend of mine," he said.

"Oh, why's that?" she asked, idly curious.

"He's got himself in a spot of trouble that I can't help him from, but I feel even now he'd have wanted to find you," he sighed. "He always did want to find his family after all."

She paused at that, narrowing her eyes dangerously "You mind explaining what the fuck you mean pendejo?"

"Isabella Ortega," he said, surprising her that he knew her full name, "I regret to inform you that your son is currently in danger. It seems a certain group have gotten their hands on him," he said, before moving closer to her, "As for why, it's to do with his unique heritage. It seems he fits into whatever it is they're planning to do." the man said, sliding a photo onto the counter towards her.

Her eyes widened as she saw the photo, before she stood up abruptly, grabbing him by his collar and pulling him in close "Where the fuck is my baby?!"

"So…I get we're here to find whatever Eyecon is possibly here," Ryuko said. "But what I don't get is why we're doing it at night," she said as right now they were moving through said hospital at night, with the lights in the hallways out, making for a rather creepy feeling.

It wasn't even abandoned either, it was just the type where traffic was slower at night.

"We're looking for a ghost and a hospital at night is the best time to find one. Or maybe it'll come to us," Taiki said, doing his best spooky ghost voice in the last bit…which was met with an annoyed Ryuko dope slapping him upside the head, using the flat side of her scissor blade.

"You were asking for that one, you know that, right?" Alain said dryly at the currently downed Taiki who had a small goose egg on his head which was comically smoking a bit.

"Worth it." Taiki mumbled into the floor, before lifting his head and grinning "Plus the view is nice."

Ryuko sighed, palming her face "Of course you go back to how you were months ago."

"Hey, I'm feeling pretty good since we've got a good pace." he said with a shrug as he stood back up and suddenly put an arm around her "Come on, try and tell me you didn't miss how I normally act."

"Dumbass." she muttered, yet had a fond smile on her face.

Taiki chuckled a bit, before turning to Yurusen. "Well, let's get back to searching. Any clues where we should go, Yurusen?"

"Hm…I think I'm getting a feeling from this floor. Follow me," Yurusen said as she led them down the hallway. Their attention was soon caught by a bit of light coming from a door that hadn't been fully closed. "I'm getting a read from over here," Yurusen said, prompting them to check. Slowly opening the door they were met with one of the labs, and working on the computer inside was a single person, seemingly fully absorbed in their work to the point they never noticed them at all.

It was a young man with pale blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing the typical hospital scrubs in dark blue with a labcoat over it, a stethoscope around his neck.

"He's not being affected by one of the rogue Ganma is he?" Coyote checked.

Taiki looked intently and shook his head. "Nope, he's clean…for now anyway."

The group walked into the room…and still no reaction. "So…are we going to do something or just let him work?" Ryuko asked.

Taiki looked at the man…and saw that he didn't even seem to notice them at all. "...I guess we let him work. Maybe if we look around here we can get an idea what he's doing?"

Alain looked at the man who clearly still hadn't noticed them and sighed. "Considering his zeal its very likely he might be who we're looking for. This is most likely our best bet," he said. With that they began looking around the room, not trying TOO hard to avoid disturbing the man who was just fixated on his work.

Looking through the lab they noticed a few notes, which Taiki opted to look through. From the looks of it they were notes on development of new drugs and medicines, and from the looks of it they had the potential to treat some very rare diseases. "If these actually work, it could very well revolutionize the medical field," Taiki mused. Most of the technical stuff went over his head, but he got the gist of it.

Any further investigation was put on hold when an alarm next to the man suddenly went off and FINALLY did he break away from whatever he was working on.

And when he turned around…

"Gah! Who are you people?!"

Yeah, that was to be expected really.

"Just a few visitors…who've been in here for like 10 minutes and you never noticed," Ryuko deadpanned.

The man blinked, before he sighed. "I see…" he groaned… and then he blinked again "Wait, but visiting hours should be over by now." he said, seeing it was dark out.

Taiki sighed at that. "We're looking for something, which may or may not be here. And we think you might be the key to finding it."

"How… how could I be the key if you don't even know if it's here." the man said in confusion.

"Long story short?" Taiki said, before making his hand intangible and sticking it through a nearby file cabinet "It's supernatural, and all we know is it's in this hospital."

The man paused, before sighing as he rubbed his temple. "I…okay, I know I should be more…concerned…" he groaned as now they could see the bags under his eyes and it was clear he'd been working late. Either way, he put on his stethoscope and went closer to Taiki. "If you don't mind."

"I'd say knock yourself out, but I'm worried you might actually do that," Taiki sweat dropped as the man used the stethoscope and unsurprisingly got back no heart beat.

"Okay…I definitely have been working too long if I'm not reacting to someone without a pulse…" he groaned as he sat back down. "And I need to make my nightly rounds too to make sure the patients are alright…"

Taiki tilted his head a bit, before sharing a look with Alain, who nodded, as the prince stepped forward a bit "If you don't mind me asking, what do you think of Florence Nightingale?"

"The greatest woman of the last century." the man said, smiling a bit "She's the reason our hospitals are so good for patients nowadays, and I hope I can strive to help as many people as she did in the end." he said, before he seemed to realise something "I… never introduced myself, did I? I'm Doctor Kanji Yakutani, it's nice to meet you all."

Meanwhile…

Isabella frowned as she walked through the city. Apparently the bastards she was about to make question ALL their life decisions were in this town. The only problem? For some reason her 'informant' couldn't provide pictures or even names, but with the weirdest descriptions she'd ever heard. "Seriously? Wearing 'armor' that looks like it has an orange hoodie…and one of them is carrying a red blade…that looks like half of a giant pair of scissors?" she groaned. "Well, at least they should be easy enough to spot," she sighed. As she passed a nearby hospital, she couldn't help but think about the past a bit. It had been 17 years already. To this day she hated that she'd had to leave her son in an orphanage, but with the life she was forced to live, what choice was there?

As she thought of that, she idly noticed an add for Revocs…one featuring a woman with white hair that for some reason had rainbow highlights on the underside of it. Said image was promptly impaled by a dagger…right through the face. Isabella almost spitefully twisted the dagger, ruining the add further before she pulled the dagger out and stored it away. "Just you wait perra, once I'm done with this, you're next. And I'll be sure to make it as slow and as painful as possible," she snarled. She was about to continue on her search…before her attention was drawn to a small crash that came from the nearby hospital.

A few minutes ago…

"Can't believe we're doing this." Coyote muttered as he walked with Alain through the hospital.

"Well, making sure the Doctor doesn't push himself too hard is a good way to make sure the rebel can't get to him too easily." Alain said as he held a small portable lamp in hand, one with a lower powered setting thankfully.

"True," Coyote sighed. "Still, Nightingale, huh? Guess it's a miss this time."

"Perhaps, but it's still not something we can simply ignore all the same," Alain sighed. At this point only renegade Ganma were hunting for the Eyecons, considering he'd already given the orders to leave handling the Eyecons to him.

"Never said it was," Coyote shrugged.

As they continued walking, the two soon heard noise from up ahead, glancing at each other before they nodded and crept ahead silently while Alain turned off the light, soon reaching a door that they could hear the noise coming from, knowing the room was empty according to Doctor Yakutani.

The two looked at each other and nodded, silently agreeing to check this out, to which Alain turned intangible, and slowly moved to the wall, peeking through, he quickly pulled back, turning to Coyote and nodding.

Coyote nodded as well before he took out his gun, Alain once again phasing through, carefully moving to open the door from the inside, before giving just enough force to let the door swing open slowly as Coyote aimed, and the moment he saw the familiar form of a Ganma, he pulled the trigger.

The gunshots caught the attention of the Ganma, who turned and promptly got hit by the shot, knocking them back and causing them to crash through the window behind them.

"I'll go after them, you warn the others!" Alain said as he ran and jumped out the window, already having his Eyecon ready. "Henshin!"

"TENGAN! NECROM! MEGA ULORD! CRUSH INVADERS!"

Necrom landed on the ground not far away from the Ganma who was struggling to get up. Their parka was white in color which made one think of a medical lab coat…with a number of test tubes in their pockets, a few capsules of some kind…and even a few scalpels from the look of it.

"That's quite enough," Necrom said. "I do believe I strictly ordered for all activities tied to the Eyecons appearing in this world to me," he frowned.

"As if I care." the Ganma growled in annoyance as it got up "The boss wants us to hunt Eyecons, so I'm just doing what they say."

"And just who IS the boss of your rebel group?" Necrom asked as he summoned his weapon.

"As if I'd tell you anything princey!" the ganma shouted in annoyance, before pulling out several scalpels, holding them between his fingers before he rushed towards Necrom, intent on slashing him to bits.

"Then you leave me no choice," Necrom frowned before taking aim and opening fire, the Ganma just barely able to dodge the shots, to which Necrom immediately blocked the scalpels with the Gan Gun Catcher, stopping the Ganma's attack. Not wasting time, Necrom quickly pushed back, putting the Ganma off balance, before landing a fast kick into the gut, sending the Ganma tumbling back.

The Ganma barely got back to their feet before Necrom fired several more shots at them, causing them to fall back again. "I have no intention of prolonging this," Necrom said as he went for Shakespeare's Eyecon. However, before he could switch his Eyecon, he heard something and had to quickly evade as something embedded into the ground, revealing to be…

"Sewing needles?" Necrom blinked, taking a moment to process the absurdity of sewing needles of all things being fired as if they were bullets. However, he quickly regained his focus and his head shot to where the needles had come from, just in time to see someone jump down from the small roof over the doorway.

It was a woman, a rather curvaceous one at that, with a tanned skin tone and dark eyes, her hair black with obvious hints of brown in it, wavy and reaching down to her upper back. She was wearing an overcoat of some kind, the only other thing visible being what appeared to be black gloves and black boots.

In one hand, she was holding… well, it looked like a cross between an SMG and a sewing machine, while the other held a dagger with three blades for some reason. She looked at both of them with a rather neutral expression as if studying them before she spoke up. "Hey greenie, I got a question for ya," she said.

Normally Necrom felt like he'd be rather miffed, but the sheer absurdity of what just happened in the last few seconds left him only able to look around and almost dumbly point at himself as if to confirm she meant him.

"Yeah, you. Don't see anyone else in green around here," she said. "I'll make this quick, you know a guy with weird armor like you only in orange?"

Necrom was looking for the right words to respond to this bizarre situation…but those went out the window when he realized something else quite important. Namely the fact that the Ganma seemed to have decided to try and use this strange situation to escape. As such his reaction was obvious. "You're not getting away!" he growled as he went for the Ganma, but was forced to stop when the woman aimed and fired, forcing him to jump back.

"I didn't say you could go, greenie. I'd recommend answering my question, or do I have to force it out of you?" the woman said. "Believe me when I say I'm in a REALLY bad mood today."

Necrom frowned behind his helmet at that, a bit annoyed at this woman coming out of nowhere, especially when the Ganma laughed and started to run "See you around 'Greenie'!" he called back mockingly… right before Ghost suddenly phased through the wall and punched him in the face hard enough to send him flying into a tree in the small courtyard.

"Okay, what kind of craziness has found us THIS time?" Ghost sighed. However, a moment later he felt a massive wave of killing intent, and it was coming from the woman with the weird weapons. The woman who'd leaped at him the moment he showed up, brandishing the weird dagger.

He almost boredly turned intangible, intent on letting her fall face first into the ground… only to suddenly shout in pain as the dagger managed to hit him anyway, sending him stumbling back a bit "What the hell?! How'd you do that lady?!"

She looked at her weapon in interest, having seen him phase through the wall and saw how his body went somewhat see through, before she just shrugged "I've got no idea, but I don't care. Just means I can kick your ass and you can't run away like a coward."

Ghost quickly regained his footing, just in time to block the dagger with his Gan Gun Saber. "Dammit, what is your problem, lady?!" he growled.

"My problem is you! Now where the hell is my son?!" she shouted at him as she kept attacking, with Ghost thankfully managing to block or parry most of her attacks.

"The heck are you talking about?!" Ghost growled, managing to block another strike before jumping back. "Dammit, gonna need someone a bit better at this than me! Musashi, you're up!" he barked as he quickly switched his Eyecon.

"KAIGAN! MUSASHI! KETTOU! ZUBATTO! CHO KENGOU!"

The next swing of the dagger was more easily parried by the pair of swords Ghost was now wielding, before he quickly broke the blade lock, and kicked her in the gut, pushing her back. "I don't know what the heck you're talking about, and I don't know who your son is, because I sure as heck don't have anyone traveling with me that could be him!"

"Like I'm going to believe that!" the woman shouted as she charged forward again.

"Hang on, I-!" Necrom started, but Ghost stopped him.

"Don't worry about me, stop that Ganma!" he shouted.

Necrom hesitated at that, before nodding, chasing after the Ganma who'd managed to get back inside due to the sudden confusion.

With him gone, Ghost was quick to parry another strike, before quickly evading a barrage of needles. "You really aren't planning on listening are you?" Ghost growled.

"Like I'm going to listen after all I'm seeing!" the woman growled.

"The hell are you on about lady?!" Ghost said in annoyance.

"Don't act like you don't know! Wearing life fibers like that, you've gotta be working for them!" she shouted at him.

Both Ghost and Musashi paused internally at that, taking a step back as they just stared at her… before raising a hand and speaking in perfect synch "Oi, lady, how dumb are you?"

"Smart enough to know an enemy when I see one," she shot back.

"Not helping your case." the two spoke in sync again "You literally saw Musashi come out of an Eyecon, how can he be made of Life Fibers? I PHASED through a wall! What do you think I am lady?!" this time Ghost spoke alone.

"Some kind of Kamui user. Don't know how the thing hasn't killed you yet, but that just proves you're working with them!" she shot back.

Ghost paused at that. "...the heck is a Kamui?"

"Enough playing dumb, if you're not gonna answer my questions, then I'll MAKE you answer them!" she roared as she charged forward…only to stop and turn just in time to stop the scissor blade as Ryuko had joined the fight.

"I dunno what you're problem is, but you've got some nerve, bitch!" Ryuko growled, before the woman just barely managed to push her away. Taking advantage of this she quickly turned to Ghost. "Go after Alain, I'll keep this crazy lady busy till you get the Eyecon!"

Ghost hesitated for a moment, before nodding. "Alright, I'll leave this to you," he said as he ran towards the hospital.

"You're not getting away!" the woman roared, only for Ryuko to stop her.

"You're dealing with me!" Ryuko growled as she swung her scissor blade, the two soon fighting it out.

As that was happening, Ghost quickly got into the hospital, phasing through walls and floors, homing in on where he started hearing the sound of fighting. It wasn't long before he found the source of the sound. He could see Necrom fighting against the Ganma, kicking him and slapping him away with the open hand of his weapon, while Doctor Yakutani was leaning against a wall, holding a hand to his head as some purple particles faded away from him.

"Nice work keeping this guy off of the Doctor," Ghost said, as he quickly shifted his weapon to gun mode and opened fire, further hitting the Ganma, and sending them tumbling back.

"He certainly didn't make it easy." Necrom said, punching the Ganma as he ended up right against the window, before he took a running leap and drop kicked the Ganma right through the window in question, with Ghost catching Necrom's hand before he could fall down and pulling him back up "That won't be enough to take him out though."

"Maybe not, but you bought us a minute to do what we gotta at least." Ghost said with a shrug, before turning to Dr. Yakutani. "You okay, doc?"

"That was…very strange," Yakutani groaned. "I'm assuming that was what you were after?"

"Not quite. More like they were also after what we hoped to find…and they wanted to use you to get it," Ghost sighed. "Mind you, in a different way than us. Our way basically has you bridge open a gap to the afterlife safely and brings forth the spirit of a Luminary, but the way of the rebels would basically have you sacrifice your life to open the gap." he said, before noticing the old style candle holder nearby, making him chuckle as he went to pick it up "And I think we'd all want to make sure you come out of this just fine, so you can keep on following Nightingale's example." he said, handing it back to the doctor.

Despite everything, Dr. Yakutani smiled. "Thanks for that. I really do want to make things better. Medicine has saved so many lives already, and I want to help it save even more, maybe not quite the same way Nightingale did, but like she did all the same," he said, as a golden aura started to appear around him.

"And we'll do what we can to make sure you can keep reaching out for that," Ghost nodded, before making the seal, and soon the spirit of Nightingale manifested from the golden aura.

"Well, this is certainly an experience." she spoke as she appeared, taking on the form of a white parka with what looked like half of a heart shape on each side of the open front, her sleeves short with medical tape dangling off of them like long ribbons, and wing-like ornaments on her hood "Once again in the world of the living… though, not quite I suppose."

"Sorry about disturbing you, but we didn't think the renegade would have given you much of an option either way," Necrom said apologetically. "Still, now that you are here, we would greatly appreciate it if you'd lend us your power."

"There are lives we want to save, and more that we want to protect," Ghost added.

Nightingale looked at them for a moment, before she nodded. "Very well, I don't believe you are lying to me. I will lend you my power," she said before flying into the Mega Ulorder, and soon her Eyecon emerged.

It was an off-white color, featuring the letters FN on the top, while the image showed a lens frame like Necrom's eyecons, appearing spiky, almost like an EKG on a heart monitor.

"Right, now let's go take care of the Ganma." Ghost said "Don't worry doc, you're completely safe now." he assured Doctor Yakutani, earning a nod from the man, who kept looking down at the Eyecon in a bit of shock and awe, no doubt from just getting to see the spirit of a person he looked up to.

With that said the two of them quickly went back outside, and soon heard the sound of gunshots. "Sounds like Coyote found the Ganma," Necrom frowned.

"Better switch things up then. We'll probably need it," Ghost said, not just thinking about the Ganma either as he grabbed Da Vinci's Eyecon, and put it into the Ghost Driver.

"KAIGAN! DA VINCI! ISSAIGASSAI! CHO TENSAI!"

"Agreed," Necrom nodded even as Da Vinci's parka flew out and dropped onto Ghost's shoulders, before looking at Nightingale's Eyecon. "I'll be in your care," he said before activating it, placing it into his Mega Ulorder before starting the activation. "YES SIR! LOADING!"

"This should be interesting." he muttered, before pressing the button on top.

"TENGAN! NIGHTINGALE! MEGA ULORD!"

Nightingale's parka emerged as his base one disappeared, before she dropped down onto his shoulders, the medical tape winding around his arms a bit as she did.

"LAMPLIGHT NURSE~!"

With their choices made, they soon joined in, with the Ganma having a look that screamed 'so done with this'.

"You know what, screw this!" the Ganma growled, managing to get some range. "If you're going to play it this way, then I won't hold back!" he roared before releasing a small army of Commandos. "Get them! And get me their Eyecons too!"

With that command given, the Commandos charged forward and soon everything was in chaos. Ghost and Necrom immediately met them head on, Coyote also breaking off to focus on taking down the Commandos first. Moving quickly, Ghost started painting a number of objects, be it to literally crush the Commandos underweight, or to mess with their movements. At the same time, Necrom was lashing out with medical bandages which promptly wrapped around several Commandos while the ones that got close were fended off by scalpels he was using and throwing at them. As for the Commandos that had been immobilized, Coyote didn't hesitate to take advantage of that and shoot them with his gun, taking them out one by one.

And as this chaotic brawl happened, Ryuko managed to kick away the woman for a moment, before turning and jumping right into the melee with a shout, cleaving one of the Commandos in two.

"Hey! You still haven't given me answers!" the woman shouted as she ran after Ryuko, only to have to dodge away from a sudden splash of paint that had turned into a cage, only to dissolve a moment later considering it was empty.

"We've got none to give." Ghost said, brandishing his giant paintbrush before he started fighting the woman again.

As he did so, Ryuko kept running through the huge group of Commandos, cutting them down as she just rushed through them while swinging wildly, Coyote helping her out by taking out any that tried to attack her, until she broke through, right in front of the Ganma who had been laughing like a maniac, only for him to go pale at the sight of her with a pissed off look in her eyes.

"I've had enough of this damn crazy night!" she roared, gripping her scissor blade tightly as something just… clicked.

The handle opened up, letting her hold the weapon with both hands, while the blade itself opened up, before an extension folded out, making the blade now much longer as she roared.

"SCISSOR BLADE! DECAPITATION MODE!"

At hearing that, Coyote and Necrom saw what she was about to do. "I recommend we duck," Necrom said, right before both he and Coyote hit the floor as Ryuko swung the massive blade…which lived up to its name as every Commando AND the Ganma lost their heads.

"This is ridiculous!" the Ganma managed to shout before he and every last remaining Commando exploded.

Ryuko released a breath a moment later, feeling the tension drain away as her weapon returned to normal.

"Alright! Way to go Ryuko!" Ghost cheered… and next to him, the woman was struggling on the ground, wrapped up in some painted ropes.

"I'm not done yet! Once I get out of these, I'll-!" the woman shouted, but was promptly cut short when she felt two things hit her right in the rear…and she hit the ground like a sack of bricks.

Ghost and Ryuko blinked at that, before noticing that what caused that were a pair of darts…which for some reason had the letters K and O respectively on them.

"Nightingale said this was her special sedative. Its…QUITE effective," Necrom said, sweat dropping a bit at just how effective it turned out to be.

"Well…at least that shut her up for now," Ryuko sweat dropped.

Ta-da!

Now you see why I said this one was pretty chaotic.

Now, I'm sure some of you can guess who Isabella is searching for... but please keep quiet about it so you don't ruin the surprise for anybody else who might like to read reviews.

Also, if you didn't get who the doc was, he's the main character of Parallel World Pharmacy, Farma de Medicis, but with his original pre-reincarnation name.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the chapter, and now...
