Ch 2.

Leonardo awoke the next morning after only a few hours of sleep. Although he had attempted to sleep, throughout most of the night feelings of guilt ran through him over the way he had treated Mikey, Don and Master Splinter as well as feelings of anger over how he and Karai constantly treated each other. His date with Karai had ended badly and he, much to his regret, took it out on the others. Leo put his feet on the floor and looked for his slippers, as he placed them on, he shook his head tiredly.

'Maybe it is about time I give up on Karai,' He told himself as he placed his blue robe over him, 'Even if the sex is great, I have to face reality,' He stood and made his way to the door, along the way he stopped and stared sadly at himself in the little hand held mirror that sat on his desk, 'I'm not really happy.'

He made his way out of his room and toward the kitchen, stopping just short of the entrance upon hearing loud laughter coming from inside.

"Are you sure you want to take a pleasure cruise, Donnie?" Mikey was asking, "I was hoping for a nice week in the Mountains," Leo heard Mikey hum enticingly, "Just you and me, alone in a cabin, far away from civilization where we, or more rather you, can walk around with absolutely no clothes on."

"As nice as that sounds," Donnie stated in a teasing voice, "We would also be far away from pizza delivery service, Chinese take-out and Wi-Fi," Leo heard Don laugh, "You know how you get when you don't have your usual distractions."

"I would think a naked you would be all the distraction I would need... Lover," Mikey retorted, his voice filled with a deep heaviness and longing.

Leo heard a thoughtful humming sound come from the room and a moment later, a noise that sounded like the two turtles were kissing very passionately. He stepped away from the entrance and walked over to the couch where he sat down with a heavy sigh. He looked down at the floor thoughtfully, mulling over in his mind all that had happened the night before. As he sat in deep thought, his eyes wandered over to the coffee table and noticed the business card Mikey had attempted to give him last night. He picked it up and stared at it with a hard glare, 'I thought I threw this on the kitchen table,' He looked back at the door to the kitchen and smiled ruefully, 'Why do I have a feeling they put this here on purpose.'

A noise coming from the front of the living room had him looking up to see his father walking out of his bedroom, "Good morning Master Splinter," He said as he stood and bowed to the gray rat.

"Good morning my son," He bowed back to him, "How are you feeling this morning?"

Leo shrugged, "Fine I guess," He responded with a turn of his head.

Splinter looked at him in contemplation, "You say you are fine but I can see in your eyes a deep sadness and longing," He noted the card in Leo's hand, "Are you contemplating calling the establishment?"

"No sensei," Leo told him rather hotly as he looked back at the kitchen, he placed the card on the coffee table, "I think Mikey or Donnie left this here for me in hopes that I would call them but I really don't believe I need that kind of help."

Splinter walked over to the coffee table and picked up the card, he then looked at Leo intently, "Then what kind of help do you think it is you do need?"

Leo looked at him in surprise, "I don't need help Sensei," He stated simply as he sat back down on the couch, "I just need Karai.

"Hmmm," Splinter hummed and stroked his beard, "Do you love her?"

Leo once again stood and turned away from him with a light chuckle, "Of course I do father," He replied, "I wouldn't put up with her and everything her dad does if I didn't."

Splinter watched his son fidget nervously for a moment, "Do you think she loves you?" He finally asked as he placed the card back on the table.

For several long seconds, Leo stood still with his head looking downward, "She says she does," He finally responded, his voice a whisper.

"And yet you two constantly argue," Splinter pointed out, "You come home angry time and time again," He placed a paw on Leo's shoulder, "And you are always ending your relationship with her."

Leo huffed and nodded reluctantly, "You're right father," He turned to him and shrugged, "Our relationship is a crazy one but...I do love her," He hung his head and sighed heavily, "At least, I think I do."

"Well, if you do love her and you believe you are happy with the way your relationship is," Leo looked at him pensively, "You should then do one of two things," He looked at Leo expectantly as his son looked back at him curiously, "Either marry her," Splinter smiled at him, "Or let her go and find a relationship that is not a crazy one."

Loud laughter coming from the kitchen had the two mutants looking toward the kitchen door. After a moment, Leo looked away and rubbed his chin thoughtfully; he then walked back to the coffee table and picked up the card.

Splinter watched as he stared down at the card for a few moments then turn to him, "You're okay with them," He nodded to the kitchen door, "Two males of the same species coming together, getting married and going on to live a life that is not a natural one?"

"Leonardo," Splinter shook his head at him, "Who are we to say what is or is not natural?" He asked him, "And who are we to judge them," He nodded toward the kitchen area, "If they are happy, then let them be happy; if after a time, they have decided their union was a mistake, then be there for your brother when he needs you, but until then, just be there."

Leo looked down at the card and nodded; he was just about to reply when the kitchen door opened and Donnie and Mikey walked out with big grins plastered on their faces, "Hear ye; Hear ye!" Mikey called out, "We have an announcement to make!" He waved his hands between him and Donnie, "My lover, the turtle genius and techno wizard…"

"Aw cut it out Mikey," Donnie said with a blush and nervous chuckle.

Mikey smiled brightly at him as he continued, "Has finally decided on where we will be spending our honeymoon," He looked at Leo with a harden glare, "Bro, if you don't want to hear this, I've got breakfast on the table in the kitchen for you so why don't you go ahead and leave…."

"Mikey, Donnie," Leo quickly interrupted, "Look, I'm sorry for what I said and did last night," He looked over at Splinter, "You guys were right, Karai and I had a huge argument and we once again broke up," Leo sighed and looked away from them with shame filled eyes, "And I was angry and took it out on you and I know…" He looked up them apologetically, "It was wrong of me and I am sorry," He slowly made his way over to Mikey and Donnie, "I'm sorry for the way I've been treating you and what I said to you Don; you do have a place here and as long as you and Mikey are happy, I have no right to say otherwise," He gave his brother a hug then shook Donnie's hand.

"Wow, thanks Leo," Mikey said, "We accept your apology and we," He looked at Donnie who nodded in agreement, "Forgive you."

"Yeah, Thanks Leo," Donnie smiled brightly, but his smile quickly faded when Leo suddenly squeezed his hand tight and pulled him closer to him.

"But let me give you this one warning," Leo said with a very serious look, "Hurt my brother and I'll bash your teeth in."

"Ow," Donnie whimpered as Leo finally let go of his hand.

"Oh, cut it out Leo," Mikey said as he hooked his arm around Donnie's and pulled him close.

"So where have you two decided to go for your honeymoon?" Leo asked.

"We decided to compromise," Mikey told them, "We're going to take a four day cruise to Costa Rica…."

"Then we'll hike up Mount Chirripo where we'll stay for a week at a remote resort deep in the Costa Rican wilderness…." Donnie said.

"Then we'll complete our honeymoon with another four day cruise back here," Mikey said excitedly.

"That is wonderful," Splinter told them as he eagerly gave them both hugs.

Leo watched as his brother and future brother-in-law excitedly hugged Splinter back, he looked down at the card still in his hand then placed it in his back pocket, "Yeah," He looked over at the others, "I'm happy for you too," He nodded at them.

"Are you Leo?" Mikey looked at him warily, "I mean are you really happy for us?"

"Yes Mikey," Leo told him as he stepped forward and brought both Mikey and Donnie into a hug, "I really am."

The three turtles pulled apart and Mikey smiled proudly, "Good, cause I wanted to ask you if you would be my witness?"

Leo smiled at him and nodded, "I would be honored Michelangelo." He looked at Donnie, "Did you find someone to be your witness Don?"

"My friend and colleague," Donnie answered, "Leatherhead."

"Nice," Leo nodded and made his way back to his room. A moment later, fully dressed, he walked to the door of their apartment, "I'm heading out," He told them, "I'll be back soon."
