- We should meet Tommy... he asked me to come and pick you up - Joel continues the conversation interrupted by Maria, in her rigid way, breaking some of the tension in the room.

- Hmm - Anna whispers in agreement - give me a moment - she continues.

Anna leaves for a short while just to take a quick shower and feel better.

Joel sits thoughtfully on the sofa, running his fingers under his forehead, wondering what is happening to him, as he listens to the water running from Anna's bath.

She quickly tidies up, her natural beauty shining through.

- We can go - Anna says, addressing Joel.

They set off to find Tommy, who was at the community meeting center.

- I'm glad you came - Anna, I called you earlier before the meeting, for a reason - Tommy says, looking at Joel and then Anna.

- So, tell me why - Joel asks his brother.

- I don't know how to explain it any easier, but Maria wants you to go on this mission together, to look for the equipment - Tommy says, addressing Anna.

- That's not going to happen! - Joel says before Anna can say anything.

- I don't think it's a good idea either, you've only just arrived... but... - Tommy says to Anna, apprehensive.

- I'll go. I just don't think I have the survival skills... - Anna says thoughtfully.

- You're not going anywhere! - Joel replies in a more aggressive tone to Anna.

- Joel, please stay calm - Tommy interrupts, taking Joel a short distance away from Anna.

- You won't like the sound of that - Tommy whispers.

- What? - Joel replies in his rigid tone.

- Maria wants you to guarantee her safety - Tommy says hastily.

- Tommy! I don't think you're seeing the outside world very well! - Joel replies, grabbing his brother's coat.

- You're acting like this because of her! I know, I know! Don't lie, I'm worried too - Tommy says, letting go of Joel.

- Maria's coming! - Anna whispers, approaching them.

Meanwhile, Maria arrived accompanied by another group of five people. They were armed and displayed a resilient and determined posture.

- You can stay, Anna - says Maria.

Night fell and everyone gathered to discuss the mission. The group drew up a meticulous plan, taking into account the dangers and the resources needed to tackle the infected area.

- We know it's an inconvenience, but we'll need your help, Anna. Your contribution will be invaluable to our community - says Maria, apprehensively.

- I'll go - Anna replies firmly.

- Don't worry, you'll be safe with Joel. He's the best person in the community - says Maria.

Upon hearing Anna's reply, Joel is overcome by a deep sense of helplessness and anger.

Anna knew the places they were going to explore well, and Maria had spoken to her, asking for her support in going with Joel.

Tommy and the other members prepared to leave at dawn.

There would be eight people in all, including Joel, his brother and Anna.
