The forbidden door Digidestined cluster around, waiting uncomfortably for their reason to having been summoned here. "What's going on?" Mox mumbles, a frown on his face as he paces around outside of Luke's compound. "This is taking forever."
"I can't believe I'm back here," Lana says, looking around, wide eyed. "It's been so long."
Miro huffs, pointedly looking away from her as their Digimon roll around and play together a few feet away, giggling and tackling each other into some overgrown grass. "DemiDevimon!" he barks after a few moments, his partner immediately freezing and floating back down to earth.
"They're not hurting anything," Lana says, confusion and hurt in her eyes as Gatomon stops too, the two digimon reluctantly parting from each other and moving to rejoin their partners on opposite sides of the group.
"Stay," Miro commands DemiDevimon anyway, the small bat creature's wings drooping as he hovers by Miro's feet.
The entire group drops into an uncomfortable silence after that, a general sense of relief washing over them as finally Luke's voice greets them. "Hello! My apologies for the wait, I was still dealing with the NXT Digidestined." He observes the group, taking in the tense displeasure among the group. "Is everything alright?"
"Yes," Mox says, shooting a warning glance at Miro. "Some of us are just still readjusting after everything that happened before. No big deal." He exhales and squares his shoulders, staring at Luke. "So what's on the agenda this time? Any more opposite reality oceans need handled? Or maybe we're going up into space this time."
"No," Luke says patiently. "No oceans, no space. Just your average Digiworld mission. I just wanted to reintroduce myself, seeing there are new members of the team now." He smiles at Dalton Castle, Brent and Brandon Tate, before turning back to the group. "Also, it's been a long time, Lana. Nice to see you again."
Miro's wife looks surprised, then pleased. "Thank you, Luke. It's nice to see you as well."
Gatomon hops up onto Lana's shoulder and beams. "Happy to be here!" she says, causing Lana to giggle and tickle her under her chin.
"The digiport is set up and ready for you," Luke says. "As soon as you are all ready to go, you know what to do."
"Yes," Mox says, grimly holding up his Digivice. "We definitely do."
Dalton and the twins watch, mimicking the others as they pull out their digivices and wait for Mox's cue.
"Let's do this," he says, checking that everyone's ready before turning to the portal. "Digiport... open!"
