Hello there, author here. I'm a little embarrassed, to say the least. In my previous story, I rarely delayed my chapters but in this one, it's almost 50/50. Sadge. I'll try to do better and actually stick to the schedule more closely, Sorry for the inconvenience. Enjoy the chapter.
"Don't fuck this up, Borchu. I went out of my way to stop at this city to get info from that woman. If you don't get anything relevant and fail this assignment... you'll be better off running away and hiding before I come back. " Yujiro said as he placed his hand over Borchu's head. Borchu's hand trembled a bit before he nodded his head.
"Don't worry, Yujiro. I'll get quality information that will bring you closer to your country. I promise that. " Borchu said. The man quickly turned away and walked toward the main gate of the mansion.
"For your sake, Borchu, I hope that you're right. " Yujiro said as he held his closed fists at shoulder height. He then flexed while trying to comfort himself. "Baki... It's been only a couple hours in this hell, but you have no idea how much I want to see you. I don't know how long I can wait and I don't know if I can contain myself... I can't believe what I'm about to say but... Borchu... " Yujiro stopped himself sentence. He quickly began walking as if nothing had happened while trying to figure out where it was coming from.
Yujiro had felt this feeling before back when he was dealing with the undead. Someone was watching him before he started running and then suddenly stopped. Now, the same gaze stared at him once again. Yujiro only had rudimentary knowledge of magic akin to that of children. No, his knowledge would be worse than that as the child who lives in a big city would, at the bare minimum, know about a few spells from Tier 0 and Tier 1.
All he had was a quick explanation which he didn't understand completely. Mana, spells, metamagic, cooldowns, monsters. Borchu was only able to tell him a little bit of the basics before Yujiro decided to ignore him. Once the absurd possibility of teleportation between worlds was introduced to him, Yujiro decided that listening to someone who couldn't even use magic was pointless. Only a genius could help him. 'I can't find them... no matter how much I look. Am I misreading the situation? It's like they are not even here, but I feel them. Is this the power of magic? Can it even deceive me?! ' Yujiro thought as he continued to walk forward.
'There doesn't seem to be any danger around here. It's only annoying me just like that damned American surveillance system. However, if all they are doing is looking then I think I know what to do. ' Yujiro thought as he turned to the side and began walking toward a metal fence. He placed both of his arms in between the bars and then bent them apart. The metal screamed as it was being pushed away until a final bang was heard. The bar couldn't take the pressure and just broke.
The servant working in the mansion's garden quickly ran as soon as the grinding noises began and the guards quickly appeared. But Yujiro didn't mind it all. "Don't move. " He said. The guards immediately froze in place. They rushed in without thinking and were now staring at a creature none of them could even hope to escape from.
Yujiro walked in as if walking into his living room. He stepped into the flower bed and crushed them under his foot as he walked toward the servent's house.
"It was like running outside ready to take on a goblin only to find a dragon standing right in front of you. No, that's not completely true. I could try to escape a dragon, but that man... that creature was completely out of this world. What did I do? Well... what could I have done in that situation? I just stood there and when he walked past me I prayed that he would let me be. " One of the guards who later quit his job on that very day said after being asked by an old man. They were in a bar surrounded by people, but for some reason, no one seemed to care about the gold coins that the old man kept pilling up on the table nor did they care about how well-dressed and well-mannered the old man was.
"A dragon? Do you have the confidence that you can escape a dragon? Interesting..." The old man said as he tilted his head to the side.
The young man placed his hand behind his back and began scratching his hair. "I'm just being... what was the word... hyper something. You know. That man was just so intense that it felt wrong to compare him to just a dragon. " The man said while chuckling.
"Just a dragon, huh... and then? What happened after that? " The old man asked.
"You're not gonna believe it, mister..." The young man said as he invited his new friend to say his name.
"I'm sorry for not introducing myself, but my client wishes to remain anonymous. Please, just continue with the story. " The old man said as he placed another gold coin on the table. There were now five beautiful pieces of metal stacked on top of each other staring right into the young man who hesitated a bit before picking them up.
"I understand. I also wouldn't want to get involved with those freaks. Especially after what happened to the mansion. But aren't you being a bit too generous with me? 5 gold coins... It's starting to freak me out a bit. Ha ha ha. " The young man laughed to try to calm himself. He looked to the side and began to curse his luck a bit before continuing the story. " Anyways, where was I? Right! You won't believe what happened next, mister. That bulky man stopped right as he passed by me. I saw the ghost of my mother and my father staring into my eyes when he did that... I was sure he was going to kill me." The young man said as he picked up a piece of meat from his plate.
"But thankfully, I was wrong. Turns out, someone was following that man." The guard said before shoving the food in his mouth.
"How interesting... what happened then? " The mister I won't tell my name said as he leaned forward. The young man also leaned forward before continuing.
'This was the moment our surveillance system failed. Which one of them had the word item? Did the newcomers bring it or did the red-haired man pull it from his inventory?' The old man thought as he began scratching his beard.
"I think it was someone from high up in the government. Really high up. They had this presence about them too. Like they were not only extremely powerful but also extremely well-educated. That's the vibes I got from them. " The young man said before going back to his usual posture.
"At first, it was just one person. The other two remained on the outside just looking. I couldn't see his face because of some illusion enchantment, but by his posture and voice, I think it was a man. This man then walked through the destroyed bars and placed both of his hands up like this. Showing his open palms to the bulky guy. He then said: I came here to talk. I know you must be confused, but I have information that could help you. I know about Japan. " The young man said as he mimicked the deep voice of the hooded figure.
"That must have meant a lot for the bulky dude because as soon as he heard it, he completely changed his body language... the bulky dude then said: What are we waiting for then? Let's go. "
"As soon as the muscle freak said that I felt completely at peace... until the other hooded figure walked in and jumped toward him. That made my feet cold again. Ha ha ha." The young man said as he took a sip from his mug.
"Jumped toward him? " The old man asked.
"Yeah. I think it was a woman... she was trying to go for a hug or something. Anyway, the red-haired dude just pushed her to the floor and walked as if nothing was happening. That was a relief for me. That crazy woman not only got rejected, but she also looked like she enjoyed it. She twitched a little and placed her right hand over her belly. What a freak. "
"I see... an odd behavior for sure. What then? " The old man asked.
"Humm... nothing really. They left the house and walked south back toward the gate. I didn't follow them for obvious reasons. I'm glad I stayed put considering what happened with the mansion a few minutes later. " The young man said as he raised his hand. "Bring me more pork! "
"Yes, wait just a minute. " The waiter said as she turned toward the kitchen.
"Was that why you quit working there? " The old man asked.
"No. That was unprecedented, but it was something so weird and new that I will never see it happen again. I thought if I ignored it everything would go back to normal, but it didn't. The reason why I quit working there is because someone attacked the mansion a few minutes later. There is a big hole in the building. I know I work as a guard and guards are expected to fight, but I just want to make money. It became too dangerous for me so I left."
"I would also like to know about that incident too... " The old man said as he placed another five gold coins on the table.
The young man looked at the table with a pale face. Sweet began falling off his forehead as he lowered his eyes a bit. "Mister something just came across my mind right now... I don't want to get into trouble. You're obviously working for someone I don't want to get involved with. This is too much I'll give back what you gave to me. " The young man placed his hands inside his pocket and removed the gold coins he received earlier. He then put all of the gold back on the table.
"I'll answer everything you want to know... just don't get me involved any further. Once you're done asking the questions... I won't tell anyone about you so you don't have to take care of anything just... leave."
The old man pushed the gold away and said, "Don't worry about it, son. You're not important enough for my master to care and this money is nothing to him. Just take the money, answer every question I have, and forget you ever saw me. Understood? "
"Ye-y-yes." The young man said with a shudder.
"What now? You're gonna talk, skeleton? " Yujiro asked. He followed the mysterious trio into an empty house near the entrance of the city but still hadn't heard anything about Japan. The entered into the bigest room the house had before Yujiro kicked the table and chair to the side.
"It seems you got some knowledge after you got here, Yuujiro Hanma. " One of the hooded figure said before revealing its face.
"Rufus, right? The last time I asked about Japan you said you didn't know, but now here you are. Alongside weaklings A and B claiming to have answers. What are you up to? " Yujiro asked as he began smiling.
"I'm not weakling A! " The hooded woman screamed as she showed her face. Both her hair and her eyes had two different colors. Black and white. "I'm Zesshi! The future mother of your kids! "
Rufus immediately raised his hand in front of Zesshi. "Control yourself or I'll knock you out where you stand. Don't forget it hasn't been more than two hours since your resurrection. " Rufus said before turning his attention back to Yuujiro. "Sorry for her rudeness, Lord Yujiro. "
"Don't worry. I don't mind it. She does have some strength in her eyes. In fact, if I was still looking after a woman to bear my children I would have picked her too. But now I already have a son who I'm dying to meet so go ahead and tell me about Japan. " Yujiro said as he looked straight into Rufus' empty eye sockets.
"What do you mean by that? You don't want more chil-" Zesshi was quickly tackled by the other hodded man and thrown to the ground.
"Back to the main issue. " Rufus said as he took a few steps forward. "Japan has been mentioned a few times by my god, Surshana. It exists in another dimension. In another world. It is impossible to reach it by simply walking there."
After this confirmation, the air completely changed. Yujiro's eyes seemed to glow with a red hue which displayed his anger. His red hair began to flow upwards and the pressure surrounding him increased 10 fold. "You were the one who brought me, right? Send me back! " Yujiro said as he began walking toward them.
"The artifact will send you back, but only after you have done what you came here to do. Destroy the Sorcery Kingdoom and every single monster inside of it. " Rufus said as both of his companions walked backward.
Yujiro's expression contorted so much that he became unrecognizable. "It's fine. If you want to destroy me go right ahead. Just make sure to complete the orders or you'll be stuck in this world forever. " Rufus said as he watched the Yujiro's stop a few centimeters from his face.
"Shit! " Yujiro screamed as he turned around and punched the ground. Building started trembling, windows broke apart, and people lost their balance and fell to the floor. The walls surrounding Yujiro cracked and then exploded followed by the ceiling. In a few seconds, there was no longer a room, only a ruble. The rest of the city took minimal damage, but the area around Yujiro was just dirt. Everything was pushed away thanks to a single punch.
"I can't tell if you're lying or not because you don't have a fucking face! There is no emotion in your words either! Damn it! " Yujiro screamed. He then turned around only to see that no one was near him anymore. "Arggggg! Borchu! Time is up! You better have something good! " Yujiro said before he ran straight to Kaleigh's mansion.
