A/N: Welcome to Chapter 16: the start of a new story arc!
It was a wonderful day in Oreburgh City for the Poké Rangers. Roark was very excited for this special day as well. The rangers were watching as Kyland was working on the exhibit. Kyland turned around as he was looking at the map.
"Move this here and here… we got to make sure that everything goes well!" shouted Kyland, talking to the people. As he turned around, he noticed the press coming. One of them walked toward him, with blonde hair and red eyes as she wore a red dress.
"This is Caitlin Keddington from SNN. When are we expecting our new celebrity?" asked the reporter.
"Right now, I have no idea but I know when he shows, the Rampardos Exhibit will be one for the books!" said Kyland, grinning as he turned to Leona. Leona shrugged as she turned to him. Leona looked at him, "Where is he?"
"Good question…," said Kyland, raising his hand, "He's always on time for everything. It is his exhibit. He has a whole press waiting for him."
Kyland turned around as he looked at the statue. It was a golden Rampardos statue with red boxing gloves attached to it. He grinned as he was mesmerized, "The Rampardos that throws punches. You don't see that every day!"
Mack walked over as he turned to the statue, "He has boxing gloves… interesting fellow indeed."
"Yeah!" said Kyland, "Rampardos is a good Pokémon! Roark has one!"
"How does Roark have one when they are extinct?" asked Mack.
Roark, overhearing this, walked over as he turned to Mack. Mack grinned as Roark looked at Mack to give an explanation, "You see, all over the world we have Fossil Restoration Centers. We can revive Pokémon back from their fossils. I was able to find a Skull Fossil and restore it. Actually, my dad helped."
"Your dad?" asked Mack.
Roark took a breath, "That's right. You don't know. My dad is Byron, the gym leader in Canalave City. He has a Bastiodon. Anything I learned about being a gym leader and digging came from that guy!"
Mack nodded in response, surprised to hear that trainers can find fossils and restore Pokémon back to where they were. He turned around as he looked at Roark, "I would love to meet your father one day to learn more about these escapades."
"Maybe one day," said Roark, "Alright, where is he?"
Kyland sighed as he looked at him, "He was supposed to be here an hour ago."
He turned around as he went to walk away. Roark turned around, noticing him leaving, "You know how many hours it is to get to his place?"
Kyland turned around as he looked at Roark, "And I don't care how late he is… we are on a time constraint! I am going to pick him up and drag him here."
Chapter 16: Shockhound's Robot
The sun was shining very brightly outside Valor Lakefront. Valor Lakefront is not also known for its beautiful beaches and resorts, but it has some celebrities that reside in the area. Over in the woods, next to Lake Valor itself, there was a silver and white mansion. At the foot of the driveway, there were two statues. Each statue had a Lucario on it. As the stone driveway continued up the hill into the mansion, there was a grey room with hardwood floors. There, a man was that was doing backflips as he was being hit by blue energy beams. Blocking them with a staff, he turned to fight a robotic Lucario, which was shooting Aura Spheres at 20 mph. Luckily, the walls were blast proof, so less property damage. As he continued to dodge, he took his staff and swung it, hitting Lucario in the face. Lucario spun around as it fell to the ground, landing in a clunk. Taking a deep breath, the man turned around as he looked at it.
"Not bad, young chap… I still need to upgrade your level."
His blue eyes scanned him as his short slicked brunette hair was soaked with sweat. He was currently wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt and grey shorts as he turned around to notice another Lucario, walking over. This time, it was his own. Lucario looked at him, pointing to his watch.
"What time is it?" he asked, looking at his watch, "Oh… yes. I need to shower and get going. That Rampardos Exhibit can't start without me!"
As he dashed over, Lucario turned around, shaking his head. Turning around, he picked up a pair of red boxing gloves. Placing them right outside the front door so he didn't forget, he headed upstairs to shower. The gloves began to glimmer in a grey aura.
Meanwhile…
Shockhound was grumbling as he was washing the deck, cleaning it. Apparently, Ferro Fett was going around for inspections. Shockhound just wanted to chill and do nothing today. Well, more or less plot his next attack on the rangers. Swabbing the bridge, he turned around as he was shaking his head. They were so close to destroying the rangers, but they kept getting smarter… and smarter. He sighed as he looked at the helm station, wiping it down as the door opened. Cremelia was prancing around as she was looking at the area.
"Hey, where's Ferro Fett?" asked Cremelia, "It's not every day he's not here."
"He's doing an inspection. Go away!" he said.
"No way!" Cremelia said, jumping toward him, "You need someone to keep you company!"
"Leave me alone creampuff," Shockhound said, groaning. Cremelia turned around as she looked at him, "Alright, you little hound… that can't get his… stuff together."
"You were going to swear at me," said Shockhound, crossing his arms.
"No… no point in swearing at you," said Cremelia, starting to walk away as she laughed at him, "You are just a dog that follows his orders and I am just happy to be -."
As she went to say what she said, Cremelia fell on the ground, not noticing the slick spots on the floor. Shockhound crossed his arms as he went to laugh. As he did, he felt something cold touch his arm.
"Funny, Shockhound?"
"Yes, sir," said Shockhound, turning around to see Ferro Fett. His face changed quickly as he dropped the broom, "What are you doing here?"
"Worry about the inspection later," said Ferro Fett, "I just got word from one of our spies that the Rampardos Exhibit is there."
"Which means…," said Cremelia, looking at Ferro Fett. She jumped for joy as she turned to him, "Energy Crystal?"
"Yes! A Mook was able to detect something at Valor Lakefront. Your orders are to attack the mansion and grab whatever's there," said Ferro Fett, looking at Shockhound, "Do I make myself clear?"
"Aye, sir!" shouted Shockhound, looking at Ferro Fett as he started to walk away. Shockhound snarled as he looked at Ferro Fett one last time to leave. Cremelia grinned as she looked at Ferro Fett, "Well, this is great news to hear."
"Hopefully, we don't screw up again," snarled Ferro Fett as he left the bridge, "Clean the rest."
"Really?" asked Cremelia, watching Ferro Fett leave. She groaned as she looked at him and then at the mop. Annoyed, she started swabbing the bridge, "I wonder if Maracturne has any music."
Meanwhile…
Hours passed as Kyland decided to drive to Valor Lakefront. As he was driving on his Helix Cyclizar, which was a Cyclizar with spikes on the front of the bike with Omastar's face, which had laser beams on it, Kyland couldn't believe he had to grab him from Valor Lakefront. He was already annoyed that he had to go to the other side of Sinnoh, which for a normal car, would take about 12 hours. For walking, days. As he arrived at his mansion, he noticed the two Lucario statues in front. Getting off the Helix Cyclizar, an aqua aura surrounded it as he disappeared. Kyland walked over as he went to press a blue button, which was a doorbell.
"Welcome to the Lucario Kingdom Mansion. State your name and business," an automated message said. Kyland rolled his eyes as he looked at the doorbell speaker.
"Kyland Navarro, Assistant Event Planner at Oreburgh Museum. Here to speak with Prince Thomas on bringing the rest of his exhibit to Oreburgh. He's late."
"Thank you, you may enter," the message said as the gate opened. Kyland rolled his eyes as he walked up the hill. As the gate closed behind him, Kyland groaned, mocking the automated message system.
"Thank you, you may enter," Kyland mocked in a childish voice, "How about thank you, now let me grab your boss so we can get this exhibit on the road?"
Approaching the front doors of the mansion, Kyland looked at it in awe. The white and grey mansion that was placed on the hill with a giant Lucario on top made it stood out as he gulped, looking at the front entrance. Opening the golden doors, he turned around as he noticed Prince Thomas, now wearing a grey suit with a white shirt and black tie.
"Ah, I was just about to come over," he said, looking at Kyland, "I heard you mocking my automated robotic system."
"It's nice to know you have good ears," said Kyland sarcastically, "I drove all the way out here. Now, let's go!"
"Odd…. It's a hike to get to Oreburgh," Thomas mentioned as he looked at him. Grabbing his boxing gloves, Prince Thomas turned around as he walked toward the exit, "I saw how you came in here… there's more to you than meets the eye."
"What do you mean?" asked Kyland, looking at him. Thomas turned around as he looked at Kyland, "Kyland… you child. When you invent and do things with technology, everything is possible. When I heard you were in the commons, I had to do a little background check. Aqua Poké Ranger?"
Kyland froze as he turned to Thomas, "Huh?"
"Like I said… my Lucario Mansion is heavily secure and can pick up important information. I also can read your aura, just like Lucario," said Thomas, looking at him as he scratched his chin, "Smart move to come in with your… poor excuse of a bike."
Kyland shook his head as he turned around to look at him, "Well, so much for keeping my identity secret. You can grill me later… let's get whatever you need."
Thomas grinned as he went to grab the boxing gloves, "This is it."
Kyland examined it as he looked at the gloves, "This?"
"Yeah, this…," said Thomas, "This was from my great-great grandfather's collection. The boxing gloves were designed to look like Rampardos and the material was used to create it."
"But, how was it created when Rampardos was extinct? Prehistoric Pokémon couldn't be restored back then. After all, the Pokémon Restoration System was created in Cinnabar Island years ago."
Thomas cleared his throat as he looked at Kyland, "When this region used to be called Hisui, my great-great grandfather, who was heir of the Lucario Kingdom, accidentally was in a time-space distortion that kept going on at times. He found remains of a Rampardos in that time dimension. He managed to collect a fossil, which is built into the gloves and then was able to design them. These gloves were made out of Rampardos material, and it has been preserved from generation to generation."
"I'm guessing with how advanced technology is… that's why they look so new," said Kyland, "Granted they are mostly grey."
Thomas nodded as he turned to Kyland, "Yes. Anyway, I'll teleport us there."
"Teleport?" asked Kyland.
Thomas grinned as he looked at him, "Kyland, when you are part of the Lucario Kingdom, anything is possible."
Suddenly, there were red lights that flickered throughout the main hall. Thomas turned around as he looked at the computer. He stood in shock as he saw Mooks and Shockhound walking toward the front entrance.
"I see we have company," said Thomas.
"Yeah, Shockhound…," said Kyland, turning to Thomas, "Take the gloves. I'll handle him."
Pushing the golden doors open, Kyland dashed out the door as the Mooks were scurrying. Kyland used a spinning hook kick on one of them and threw the creature on the floor. His aqua crystal began to shimmer as his Fossil Blaster appeared, shooting five of them that approached the entrance. He turned around as he pulled the trigger, shooting the other twenty that were coming rapidly. As ten more were heading toward the entrance, Kyland dashed over and kicked two of them in the stomach, punching a third one and then used a back kick on the fourth. He turned to shoot five more Mooks on the ground. He turned around as Shockhound arrived with his saber.
"Move, human," said Shockhound, "Anything with Rampardos belongs to Ferro Fett."
"Sorry, but I am not going to let you destroy pieces of history for your own needs," said Kyland, grabbing his Fossil Charger, "Fossil Charger, energize!"
Pressing the Omastar Charger, aqua energy emerged from his crystal into his charger. Doing a little dance, he turned around as he placed his Fossil Charger into his blaster, closing it.
Omastar, Energize!
Spinning the blaster, he struck it up in the air, "Unleash the Power!"
An aqua blast of energy surrounded Kyland as he transformed into his suit.
"Omastar! Dino Charge Aqua!"
Shockhound grumbled as he went to strike Kyland with his saber. Dodging the attack, Kyland pulled the trigger as Shockhound was hit. Kyland stretched his arm as an aqua aura surrounded his left hand, revealing his Fossil Saber. Shockhound struck Kyland as he blocked with the saber. The two of them went at it as they continued to strike. Shockhound grumbled as he went to cut, only for Kyland to bend backwards and kick Shockhound to the ground. Immediately, Kyland went to grab a charger, specifically a ruby charger with the number 15. Placing the charger in the Fossil Blaster, he spun it.
Flamethrower, Energize!
"Take this!" shouted Kyland, "Flamethrower!"
A blast of flames struck out of the blaster, hitting Shockhound. Shockhound turned around as he released a golden blast of energy from his saber, knocking Kyland's Fossil Blaster out. Shockhound dashed through as he went to charge with his saber.
"Howling T-!"
A blast of golden energy struck Shockhound as he stumbled backwards. Kyland looked up as he was surprised to see one of his own. Mack stood in front of Kyland with his Golden Amber Saber.
"What are you doing here?" asked Kyland.
"You've been gone for two hours. I also sensed Shockhound was in the area," Mack said, "When you are trapped in someone's body for years, you know things."
Shockhound grumbled as he went to release more thunder strikes. Kyland and Mack landed on the ground with full impact.
"Come on," said Mack, "Let's do it."
"Uh huh," said Kyland, getting up with his Fossil Saber.
As the two rangers went to strike, Shockhound screamed as he was frozen in a blue aura. Turning around, Shockhound looked over as Thomas turned to one of his Lucario robots.
"Great job, Lucario," said Thomas, "I'll handle it."
Thomas closed his eyes as his hands stretched out. A blue aura surrounded him as an energy ball began to form. Thomas's eyes began to glow in a blue aura as he stepped forward, releasing a blue sphere of energy.
"Aura Sphere!"
The Aura Sphere was released, hitting Shockhound. A black and blue aura surrounded him as he was flown across, disappearing. Thomas walked over as Mack and Kyland turned over. Flashes of aqua and gold surrounded the two as their suits disappeared.
"How did you do that?" asked Kyland.
"I train a lot," said Thomas, "With my Robotic Lucarios, I am able to channel my inner aura."
"But, how are you able…," said Kyland, "No human can use an Aura Sphere attack…"
Thomas turned around as he looked at Kyland, "When you are a member of the Lucario Kingdom, you are inherited powers of Lucario."
Kyland said nothing as he was stunned. Mack looked at him as he was silent. Mack turned around as he stepped inside. Kyland walked in with him as the doors closed. Walking toward the training room, Mack stood frozen as he noticed the Lucario Robots. One of them walked toward Mack with his fists up. Mack grinned as he went to examine, only to get punched in the face. Kyland grinned as he watched Mack on the ground.
"Very funny," Mack replied weakly, getting up from the hardwood floor. Kyland looked at his watch as he turned to Thomas, "We need to go."
As the rangers went to leave, a flash of white light surrounded them as Maracturne arrived. The rangers turned around as Maracturne released a green web of energy from his submachine gun, catching the three of them. Maracturne laughed as he went to grab one of the robots.
"What are you doing?" asked Thomas.
"Well, Shockhound was so amazed… I'm taking the robot," said Maracturne. The Robotic Lucario went to strike, only for Maracturne to dodge the attack. Grinning, he took out a green and yellow pellet and placed it in the gun. Pulling the trigger, a burst of golden dust caught the robotic Lucario. Blue sparks surrounded it as Thomas looked at it. Maracturne grinned, "Your Lucarios aren't so tough now. Are they? Rangers, I will have to have another shootout with you later."
A flash of green energy surrounded him as he grabbed the robot. The web was released as the three of them landed on the ground. Thomas turned to the others as he looked at them, "This is bad. They will know all our secrets."
"Secrets?" asked Mack.
"Yes… these Robotic Lucario are not made by technology alone and that's a problem," said Thomas, "I ask for your help."
Kyland groaned as he looked at Mack. Kyland turned around as he reach for his Dino Com, "Rangers, come in."
"Where are you?!" asked Leona on the intercom, "Thomas needs to be here NOW."
Thomas grabbed Kyland's Dino Com as he went to speak, "This is Prince Thomas and I need the Poké Rangers now."
"… Uh, Kyland?" asked Leona, over the intercom.
"He's not kidding," said Mack, looking at his Dino Com, "Shockhound stopped by and Maracturne paid a visit. Meet us in the Oreburgh Museum office."
Meanwhile…
Ferro Fett walked into another compartment of the room. Walking inside, Shockhound was amazed as Turnchou and Maracturne were building the Lucario Robot. Any essence of Lucario was pretty much taken out and has Boltund lightning bolts on its arms and legs. There was black and yellow paint on it with electric cores inside. The Lucario face was kept, but it had red eyes and orange ears. It also had black and yellow samurai sabers with grey and red rocket launcher handheld devices.
"Wow, I'm impressed. Where did you find this?" asked Ferro Fett.
"Simple. I raided the house as you said," said Shockhound, "The rangers showed up, of course and as I disappeared, I asked Maracturne to capture this robot."
"This robot is pretty unique," said Maracturne, looking at the Lucario Core that was taken out of the robot, "Turnchou is there anyway we can analyze this?"
"Yeah," said Turnchou, "We can run some tests on it."
Ferro Fett grinned as he looked at it, "We may not need to ask my boss for help if we can unlock its secrets."
"Exactly," said Maracturne, waving his finger, "I need to show this to Cremelia. Where is she?"
"Reading a novel," said Ferro Fett, "Good job, Maracturne."
Maracturne nodded as he walked away toward the exit. Turning around, Ferro Fett looked over as Shockhound grinned with response.
"Send it with the Mega Mooks. Let's do a test drive," said Ferro Fett, "That is, once Turnchou has it operational."
"Yes, sir," Shockhound said, turning to Turnchou. Turnchou was working on the finishing touches as he pressed a few buttons. As he did, the red lights turned on as the robot looked up.
"Shockcario, its time for a test drive!" he said.
Shockcario nodded as it raised its left hand. Golden beams struck as the two of them dodged the explosions. Shockhound covered his head, "I meant down on Earth! Not on the ship!"
Oreburgh Museum…
Mack, Kyland and Thomas walked into the office after having celebrities and the press. The other rangers were walking into the conference room while the public was exploring the Rampardos exhibit. The red door closed behind them as they all sat down together. There, the Oreburgh City Gym Leader was more than annoyed. The rangers never seen him that angry. Roark placed his hands on the table in the conference room, annoyed, "It's about time you three showed up. Luckily, we got through the press and you were able to show off the gloves."
"Sir, I am always a celebrity and always two hours late, get over it," said Thomas, grinning. He went from grinning to silent, "So… these are you friends?"
Joe turned around as he looked at Thomas, "And how did you know we were rangers?"
"Simple. I was doing some research on… Fossil Gems?" asked Thomas, "And when Kyland showed up, it picked up an energy signature, which created a background check of his identity as a ranger. Anyway, I need your help more than ever."
"Let me guess," said Lisa, "Fetching you a bottle of wine for your victory?"
Thomas glared at her as he shook his head, "Those creeps raided my mansion. They took my robot, which has secrets about the Lucario Kingdom and that worries me. The Lucario Kingdom is a highly advanced civilization. We use aura to advance technology and our tech is supposed to be used to innovate and invigorate. The fact they took the robot… that's scary enough."
"So, obviously there's more to the Lucario Kingdom, granted I thought it was only a legend," Atticus said, "What else?"
"They were after my great-great grandfather's boxing gloves," said Thomas, bringing them out. The rangers were surprised at the condition of the gloves, "Made from Rampardos remains."
"But, why would Shockhound be after them?" asked Grayson.
Thomas said nothing as he reached into the gloves. The rangers looked over as Thomas went to grab something out of the gloves. Picking something out, Thomas revealed the Skull Fossil. Inside the Skull Fossil, was a grey crystal. The rangers stood there in surprise as their Energy Crystals began to react to it.
"There's an Energy Crystal in the gloves?" asked Leona.
"That means your great-great grandfather found the remains of the Rampardos that bonded with the Energy Crystal," said Kyland.
"Well," said Thomas, turning around to looking at them, "I hope to join you guys…"
"Join us?" asked Joe, "Doing what?"
"Being a Poké Ranger," said Thomas. The rangers froze instantly upon hearing that. Thomas turned around as he looked at them, "What?"
Joe turned around as he laughed at him, "No offense, your highness… but… it doesn't work that way."
"What do you mean?" asked Thomas.
"Simple. The crystal chooses you… not the other way around," said Leona, folding her arms across her chest, looking at Thomas, "Being a Poké Ranger is a selfless responsibility. And like you see us with your aura, we sadly can read you and you have some things you need to work on if you want Rampardos's energy."
"Being a ranger is not just for fame and fortune to carry on a legacy. You will have to give up something in order to do it," Grayson continued on, "Sadly, we don't see that in you."
"Guys, come on," Mack said, "He's proven helpful fighting Shockhound."
"True," Leona replied, "But, it's going to take more than an Aura Sphere, Mack."
Immediately, the Dino Coms started going off as Leona went to pick up the Dino Com, "Go ahead, Drake."
"Rangers, the robot that Maracturne took at Prince Thomas's mansion is in Oreburgh City. However…" he said, "It looks like they had some fun altering it."
"Altering it?" asked Thomas, looking over Leona. Leona turned around as she looked at the Dino Com, "We're on it."
The rangers got out of their seats as Thomas went to walk with them. Leona turned around as she looked at the prince, "I am asking you to stay."
"But-," he said.
"How about this? Want to be a ranger? I'm ordering you to stay," said Leona, "Thank you for help with Shockhound, but this isn't fun and games."
"But, it's my robot," Thomas replied. Joe turned around as he looked at Thomas, "Dude, it wouldn't surprise me that any essence of what you built in that robot is gone. You need to let the seven of us handle it."
Thomas shook his head as Joe and the others walked away. Thomas sat in the chair as Roark looked over toward him. Roark said nothing as he walked out of the conference room, leaving Thomas in the room.
Menawhile…
Shockcario screamed as it released rockets from his right hand, blowing up buildings and gas stations as it walked toward the streets of Oreburgh. It's left hand released golden beams, shooting homes and buildings. Grabbing its saber, black and golden beams struck down as a block of Oreburgh City was obliterated. Civilians and Pokémon started running away as the seven rangers dashed toward him. Shockcario groaned as the Mega Mooks arrived.
"Oh great, them again," said Lisa, rolling her eyes.
"Wow…," said Kyland, looking at Shockcario, "Look what they did to it."
"Yeah, he's more a terroristic robot," Mack replied, "They aren't supposed to be built like this."
"Built or rebuilt, we need to shut it down!" Leona said, turning to the rangers, "Let's Poké Battle!"
"Fossil Charger, Energize!"
The rangers pressed their chargers as their crystals channeled into the Fossil Chargers. The rangers put the Fossil Chargers into the Fossil Blasters, spinning around as they went to close their morphers.
Fossil Chargers, Energize!
"Unleash the Power!"
Seven beams of energy surrounded them as they transformed into their suits. The rangers struck a pose as Shockcario went to strike. Releasing rockets, the rangers scattered as the ground exploded. Kyland and the others turned around as they saw the Mega Mooks flipping over toward them.
"Great, not them again," said Grayson.
The rangers, except Mack, used their Fossil Blasters along their right shoulder.
"Dino Armor, Engage!"
As the rangers used their weapons, the rangers all split to fight. Leona flipped forward as she used her Tyrantrum Fang, slashing the Mega Mook in front of her. She turned around as she used her Fossil Blaster, shooting some of them down. She flipped forward as a red aura surrounded the Tyrantrum Fang.
"Iron Claw!"
Slashing one of them in the stomach, the Tyrantrum Fang opened as a red charge surrounded it, "Iron Head!"
A silver energy surrounded her as she charged through, smashing the Mega Mooks in her area.
Joe turned around as he used his Armaldo Blaster and Fossil Blaster, shooting down most of the Mega Mooks in the area. He turned around as one of them released blue and red energy from their weapons. Joe blocked it with his blaster as he pulled the trigger, releasing beams of energy. He turned around as he took out his Fossil Charger.
"Armaldo Charger, Energize!"
Placing the charger in the Armaldo Blaster, he aimed for the Mega Mooks. Pulling the trigger, an Armaldo shot out as the Mega Mooks were defeated instantly.
Atticus blocked a lot with the Carracosta Shield. Each attack was blocked. As one of them went to club, Atticus grabbed his shield and slashed it across the chest. Atticus flipped backwards as a blue aura surrounded his shield.
"Razor Boomerang!"
Twisting his body, he swung his Carracosta Shield, cutting all of the Mega Mooks in his area. While the shield was slaughtering, he placed his Fossil Charger in his Fossil Blaster. Grabbing the shield, he turned to see more coming toward him. Noticing there were yellow gasoline cans near him, he aimed for them, "Take this!"
Pulling the trigger, a field of explosions surrounded the Mega Mooks as Atticus placed his blaster behind his head.
Grayson slashed each of the Mega Mooks with the Kabutops Slasher and the Fossil Saber. With each stroke, Mega Mooks were flopping down. He turned around as he jumped on a bench, flipping over as he slashed the next group. Landing on the ground, he used a pinkish Fossil Charger, it was labeled number 16.
"Hypnosis Charger, Energize!"
A pink aura surrounded his blaster, pulling the trigger. Releasing waves of hypnotic energy, the Mega Mooks stalled as they started to get drowsy. Immediately, Grayson took out the Kabutops Charger. Pressing it, he placed it in the Kabutops Charger and placed another charger in the Fossil Saber. Two green auras of energy surrounded him as he jumped up.
"Double Kabutops Slash!"
Releasing two green lines of energy, the hypnotized Mega Mooks were slashed. All of them screamed as they fell to the ground, turning into piles of blue dust. Grayson turned around as he raised his two blades.
Lisa pulled out her Fossil Blaster, shooting the Mega Mooks as she flipped over a park bench. Shooting the others down, she raised her Bastiodon Drill. A pink aura surrounded the Bastiodon Drill as she jumped up.
"Drill Run!"
Touching the surface, the Mega Mooks screamed as cracks in the foundation occurred, knocking them out. Lisa landed on the ground as she turned around to shoot another group of Mega Mooks. She immediately took out her Fossil Charger and placed it in the drill. A pink aura surrounded the Bastiodon Drilll as she raised her weapon.
"Spikes!"
Shoving the Bastiodon Drill in the ground, black spikes protruded out of the ground, piercing the Mega Mooks, causing them to explode.
While all of that was happening, Mack was finishing the rest of the Mega Mooks, knocking them down with his Golden Amber Saber. Finishing the last one, he looked up as he saw Kyland fighting Shockcario. Kyland landed on the ground with his Omastar Cannon. Shockcario released a few turrets, only for Kyland to dodge them as he went to a solid surface. Kyland released a few spikes from his cannon, placing them on Shockcario's feet. Explosions surrounded the robot, but the robot continued to attack. Kyland gulped as he turned around, pressing a few buttons on the cannon.
"Spike Cannon!"
Releasing five spikes, the turrets from Shockcario destroyed them all. Kyland stood there in surprise, "He's too powerful!"
Kyland grumbled as he took out his Fossil Saber, jumping up. Shockcario released a rocket, only for Kyland to barely miss the attack. As he went to slash him, Shockcario turned around and used his black and gold samurai saber, slashing Kyland down. Kyland landed on the ground as Shockcario went to stab him. Kyland rolled over as Shockcario tried to stab him repeatedly. As Kyland reached a point where he couldn't roll, Shockcario went to drive the sword, only for Mack to release an electric bolt of energy from his saber. Shockcario turned around as Mack reached for his morpher.
"Dragon Pulse!"
Bursts of bluish-red energy struck out, piercing Shockcario's armor. Kyland turned around as he pressed a lime button, "Pin Missile!"
Lime missiles shot out of Kyland's Omastar Cannon, piercing into the ground, exploding around Shockcario. Shockcario landed on the ground as sparks flew.
Meanwhile…
Prince Thomas was watching the battle on the news, anxious to know what was going on. He turned around as he looked at the Skull Fossil that had the grey energy crystal inside. He turned around as he watched how Kyland and Mack were getting beat up.
"I wish I could help them."
He turned around as he went to place the fossil in the boxing gloves. As he went to continue watching, he felt something ominous head toward him. As he scanned the area, he gasped as he saw a cactus like machine gun aimed at his head. He looked around to see Maracturne with a smile.
"Cactus breath…," he said.
"It's Maracturne," Maracturne said, grinning, "If you want your legacy to continue, you are going to do exactly as I say."
"Where's your shocking buddy?" Thomas asked, nervously. Maracturne grinned as he hopped on the table, "He's around. But, he ordered me to help modify the robot. You know it more than anyone else."
"I refuse to help those who take my technology for wrongdoing," said Thomas, looking at the villain. Maracturne grinned as he grabbed him by the shirt, "I knew you would refuse."
He turned around as he pulled the trigger, shooting Thomas in the leg. Thomas winced in pain as he landed on the ground. Maracturne hopped over as he looked at him, "Now that you know that I am not messing around… help us."
Immediately, Thomas's eyes began to shimmer in a blue aura. Stretching his hand, Maracturne grumbled as he froze. Thomas threw him across, throwing Maracturne to the ground. A s Thomas went to get away, Shockhound appeared punching him in the stomach.
"Hahaha," said Shockhound, seeing Thomas limp over his shoulder, "That was easy. Take the boxing gloves on the table, Maracturne. Turnchou is almost done."
"Good," said Maracturne, standing up and grabbing the gloves, "Ugh… he packed quite a punch."
The two of them dragged Thomas out of the conference room. The room was still empty for a good ten minutes as Roark entered. Roark froze as he examined the room. He noticed the chairs were still intact and there was a smoke-like smell with the boxing gloves missing. He then turned around as he noticed a line of blood from where Thomas sat with a black burn on the ground. Within seconds, Roark ran down the hall, ignoring the customers as he went into the security room. As he opened the door, Roark sat down as he was examining the rooms. He turned around to notice one of the cameras was inoperative.
"What in the-," he said, looking at the room.
"Duuuuuude… Geodude!"
Roark turned around as he walked out of the security room. Geodude was floating around, pointing to something.
"Geodude, what's wrong?"
"Dude… dude… dude!"
Roark, trusting Geodude's instinct, ran down the corridor, following Geodude. As Geodude pointed to the door, Roark crept down. As he looked up at the window, his eyes stared at the lab. Maracturne held his gun to Thomas's head as he and Turnchou were working on a device. Shockhound laughed as he was looking at them, watching what was going on. He then noticed that the Skull Fossil with the Fossil Gem was attached to wires.
"No…," said Roark, pushing his glasses up, "Oh no… how did they even get past security?"
"Geo… dude," said Geodude, shrugging, he didn't even know. Roark turned around as he looked at the door. He was thinking of options. The rangers would be a while and he was a little far from Oreburgh Gym to grab his advanced Pokémon, except one. Geodude looked at him as Roark took out his Poké Ball, "There is one option…"
He turned around as he reached for brown Dino Com, pushing the button, "Rangers, come in."
"This is Leona, what's up Roark?" asked Leona, fighting Shockcario in the background.
"Turnchou, Shockhound and Maracturne are in the Orebrugh Lab. They are trying to work on new software with Thomas, trying to create new software for that robot your facing," said Roark.
"We'll try to get there. Can you at least stall them?" asked Leona.
Gulping, Roark turned around as he looked at the door. He fought with Pokémon against trainers. Bounty hunters weren't his forte. He turned around as he looked at him, "Sure…"
Roark turned around as he went to open the door, noticing it was locked. Roark laughed as he looked at the knob, "Of course."
He turned around, as he tried to use his keys to open the door. As he did, Roark stepped in with his Poké Ball. Maracturne, Turnchou and Shockhound raised their weapons.
"You dare intrude on us?" Turnchou asked.
"I believe you are intruding," said Roark, raising his Poké Ball, "Tyranitar!"
Releasing his Poké Ball, Tyranitar landed on the ground. Prince Thomas turned around as he grabbed the Skull Fossil and kicked Maracturne and Shockhound. Flipping on the ground, Thomas took out his Poké Ball, "Lucario!"
Lucario was released from his Poké Ball. His black hands clashed together as he roared. Tyranitar roared as they went to strike. Turnchou released blue and yellow waves with his magnet blaster. Tyranitar stood as it took the effect of electric surges. Breaking free, Tyranitar grabbed Turnchou with his hands.
"Arghhh… what in the world?" asked Turnchou, "This Tyranitar is powerful!"
"Tyranitar, let's give Turnchou a bite of his own medicine! Crunch!"
Tyranitar opened its mouth as his magnet blaster was broken. Landing on the ground, Maracturne turned around to strike.
"Aura Sphere!" shouted Thomas.
Lucario released a blue sphere of energy, heading for Maracturne. Maracturne pulled the trigger, releasing the blue sphere of energy, hitting Lucario. Lucario landed on the ground as he was struggling to get up. Shockhound laughed as he released an golden energy surge, hitting Tyranitar. Tyranitar yelled as it crushed a wall and then landed on the ground. The lab shook as the three villains laughed.
"So, there are stronger Pokémon, but not enough to take on the three of us," said Turnchou, showing the disc, "It's almost complete."
Thomas turned around as he went to grab it, only for Maracturne to slash him in the face. Thomas's face had a red line as Maracturne turned around, "Thank you for your secrets."
Immediately, one of Roark's Poké Balls started to nudge. As it fell off his belt, it magically enlarged as the ball opened, releasing energy. Roark turned around as his own Rampardos landed on the ground.
"Rampardos!?" asked Thomas.
"Oh great… a mini Prehistoric Pokémon!" shouted Turnchou. Maracturne went to shoot it down, only for Rampardos to use its tail and smack Maracturne down. Maracturne was such a lightweight hunter compared to the others. Shockhound went to strike him, only for Rampardos to use his tail again. A silver aura surrounded it as the sword touched the tail. A yellow bolt surrounded Shockhound as Rampardos pushed him down. Rampardos roared as it screamed across.
Meanwhile…
The rangers landed on the ground as Shockcario released more weapons. The seven rangers landed on the ground as explosions continued to strike. Leona turned around as she looked at the robot.
"How do we defeat something like this?" asked Leona.
Kyland turned around as he went to think. He looked up as he turned around, "Of course! The core…"
"Core?" asked Mack.
"Yeah!" said Kyland, "The core is in the center of Shockcario. Even though they took everything out of it, they didn't touch the Lucario armor."
"You mean it still can be controlled by Thomas?" asked Mack.
"Yeah… but we will need his help," said Kyland, turning to Mack.
Leona turned around as she looked at the others. She took out an aqua charger, "In that case, let's freeze this robot."
Pressing the button, she placed the Fossil Charger in the Fossil Blaster, spinning it.
"Fossil Charger 21: Ice Beam!"
A stream of ice shot out as Shockcario was covered in ice. Creating five layers, Shockcario started to become a majestic ice sculpture. The rangers watched as Shockcario froze, unable to move. The rangers turned to each other as they were impressed. Kyland turned around as he took out his Cyclizar Charger, "I'll be back in 5."
As the three villains started fighting in the lab, Tyranitar, Rampardos and Lucario were beaten down by them. Roark and Thomas were also down on the ground, breathing heavily as Maracturne grinned looking at Thomas with his weapon. As the cactus gun was at his face, Thomas tried to freeze him, but his body took a lot.
"Say goodbye!"
Immediately, golden beams struck as Maracturne was hit. Shockhound and Turnchou were also hit as they landed on the ground. The three of them looked up as Kyland arrived.
"I'm so glad," said Roark, taking a deep breath, "Where's Shockcario?"
"Frozen," said Kyland, looking at the robotic device, seeing the software, "I think this software has seen its days."
Taking out his Omastar Cannon, he released a spike, exploding the software and wiring devices. Maracturne and Shockhound looked at each other. Shockhound looked at the aqua ranger, "You destroyed any means of creating more of those robots! I am going to make you pay using Shockcario!"
"Yeah, about that," said Kyland, turning to Thomas, "Thomas knows."
Thomas laughed as he looked at Kyland, "Thank you for stopping him. Even though you took out most of the parts, you forgot that Lucario Armor is not your typical armor. When it connects with others who have the same aura, it can still communicate."
"Wait," said Shockhound, "That means…"
Thomas grinned as a blue aura surrounded his body. As his blue aura began to shimmer around him, the energy transferred over into Shockcario. His eyes opened as his aura diminished. Shockhound turned to him, "What did you do?"
"Destroyed him. You will never use my robots for evil ever again," said Shockhound.
"In that case…," said Maracturne, "Before we leave."
Maracturne released his green smartwatch, seeing that it was happening, "Magna Beam, fire!"
He turned around as he looked at Thomas and Kyland, "This isn't over! Especially, you civilians! You put a target on your backs now."
A flash of blue, green and yellow appeared as they teleported. Immediately, the museum started shaking as Thomas turned around, "What's the Magna Beam?"
"Simple. I think your robot just got bigger," said Kyland.
Roark nodded as he turned around, "Based on the shaking, it's near the museum."
"Get everybody out," said Kyland, reaching for his Dino Com, "Hey guys, I am sure you are seeing this right now."
"Yeah," said Leona, looking over, "We're sending our zords!"
"Wait for me!" shouted Kyland, turning off the Dino Com. He ran out of the lab, dashing toward the exit as Roark and Thomas went to clear people.
Outside…
The six zords started charging, fighting a gigantic Shockcario. Shockcario released black and yellow bolts from its weapons. Tyrantrum swung across as Shockcario landed on the ground. Bastiodon and Carracosta tackled it down. Next, Kabutops and Armaldo slashed it. Turning around, Aerodactyl flew across as lighting bolts surrounded it. The rangers turned around as Kyland dashed over.
"Omastar, I choose you!"
Releasing his Fossil Charger, Omastar landed on the ground. Omastar grinned as spikes were released, hitting Shockcario. Lisa and Leona turned toward Kyland.
"We're good," said Kyland, "Let's finish Shockcario!"
"Tyrantrum…"
"Bastiodon…"
"Omastar…"
"Tri-Fossil Fusion!"
Immediately, Tyrantrum opened its mouth. Aqua and pink energy surrounded Bastiodon and Omastar as Tyrantrum ingested the energy. A red aura surrounded the Tyrantrum as the legs began to rise higher, seeing robotic feet. The Tyrantrum Zord roared as the upper body rotated, leaving the tail to be the left side and the head of the zord on the right. The Omastar and Bastiodon jumped up. The shell began to soften as the shell and body lengthened into an arm, connecting to where the Carracosta Zord would be. The shell then hardened as spikes emerged out of it. The Bastiodon raised its tail as it connected to the left side with its legs and arms shrinking, forming the left hand and arm of the Megazord. A human head popped out of the body. It was a silver head with a red helmet that looked like a Tyrantrum helmet. Green eyes glowed as it started jumping.
"Dino Spiker Megazord, Battle Ready!"
Kyland and the other five rangers landed on the ground in the cockpit. Kyland placed his Fossil Blaster in the cockpit, "Cannon Bomber!"
Aqua spikes struck out, heading toward Shockcario. Shockcario blocked it as it released yellow lightning bolts. The rangers were hit as explosions surround the cockpit. Shockcario struck with its own powerful blast of energy. The beam hit the Dino Spiker Megazord. As it stumbled, two Giant Mooks arrived, releasing red and green beams of energy with a Mega Mook, shooting them down.
"Great," said Joe, "More creeps."
Mack looked up, watching this as the other Pokémon tried to strike. As Kabutops, Armaldo and Carracosta were hit, the Aerodactyl Zord swept through as Mack jumped up into the cockpit.
"Aerodynamic Change! Aero Amber Megazord!"
The Aerodactyl screamed as it swooped down. A golden aura surrounded the zord as it landed on the ground. The legs went from being bent to straight as the body was lifted. The wings folded into either side of its body as the body was now standing as a human body. The hands detached from the wings as golden arms grew out. The hands connected to the body as the head moved down to the chest. A human head appeared with a silver and black helmet that had an Amber Fossil on top. The head had green eyes.
"Aero Amber Megazord, Battle Ready!"
The Aero Amber Megazord released golden energy beams from its eyes, shooting down the Giant Mooks and Mega Mooks. Sweeping through, the Mooks landed on the ground as the Dino Spiker Megazord aimed at the three creatures.
"Flash Cannon!" shouted Lisa.
Releasing pink and silver beams, the Giant and Mega Mooks screamed as they were hit. As the three creatures landed on the ground, explosions appeared. Carracosta, Kabutops and Armaldo jumped up as auras of black, blue and green light slashed Shockcario's armor. Shockcario struck its saber in the air, releasing golden energy bolts. Explosions surrounded them as the rangers held on.
"Now…," said Kyland, "The finishers!"
The Aero Amber Megazord began to stretch its arms out as golden blades surrounded each arm. A golden aura surrounded the wings as the Megazord charged forward. In a flash of golden energy, it swooped toward Shockcario faster than the average motorcycle. Mack grabbed his Golden Amber Saber and raised it above his head.
"Sky Attack Strike!"
He went straight through Shockcario's body with the Megazord. Shockcario stumbled as it spun around with the Dino Spiker Megazord aiming its weapon. Kyland and the others held their Fossil Blasters.
"Dino Spiker Megazord, Spike Beam!"
Releasing an amber attack, as a golden spike pierced through Shockcario. Shockcario landed on the ground as it exploded. The zords stood down as it looked over the Oreburgh City.
Ferro Fett's Ship…
"Hi," said Cremelia, looking at her nails as Maracturne walked in, throwing his gun on the floor. He turned around as he looked at her, "I am so angry."
"What did you do?" asked Cremelia, "It wasn't your plan."
"I know," Maracturne said, "Told Shockhound to bring him here. But, no… he wanted to use human technology."
Turnchou turned around as he looked at Maracturne. His magnet blaster was broken, "Roark's Tyranitar really did it. Breaking things…"
Cremelia laughed as she looked at Turnchou, "A human's Pokémon broke your blaster?"
Turning around, Shockhound looked at the three of them as he threw his saber on the ground. He turned to see Ferro Fett, who was angrily watching them. The four of them looked at them as Ferro Fett aimed at them, "I am angry with all of you right now. You let a Gym Leader ruin your plans. You let the Lucario Prince ruin your plans and worst of all… you had an Energy Crystal, back in their hands!"
The four villains looked at each other and then at Ferro Fett. Ferro Fett turned around as he released an electric pulse of energy. The villains were holding on to each other as suddenly they heard a voice.
"Ferro Fett… relax."
Ferro Fett turned around as he felt a shadowy presence, "It is just a small bump. However, with what Turnchou learned, I can work with it."
"What do you mean?" he asked.
Turnchou gulped, "I was able to analyze a lot about Lucario Kingdom while Shockhound and Maracturne rebuilt. Ferro Fett, there's a way we can get those rangers after all. It's going to take time though."
Ferro Fett snarled, "Time is something we do not have."
The shadowy presence continued as a red energy beam surrounded it, revealing Gircannon. The villains looked at him as Gircannon turned to Ferro Fett, "Remember, anything can happen."
Orebrugh Museum…
The rangers were sitting down at the food court as Thomas was treating them to food, after being bandaged up. Roark was also bandaged up as the rangers were eating the food that Thomas paid for. Leona grinned as she was sipping her shake, "We should be paying for you after trying to take the lab down."
"The pleasure is all mine… granted, now I have issues with them," said Thomas.
"Don't worry about it. We'll handle it," said Kyland, "What's more important is making sure they don't touch your robots ever again."
Thomas nodded as he went to finish his burger. As he got up, he looked over as he went to grab his keys, "Well, if you are looking for the boxing gloves, they are here."
As he picked up the gloves, he gave them to Roark as Thomas nodded his head, "I wish you all a great day!"
Thomas got up from the table as he walked out the door, heading toward the exit. Atticus turned around as he looked at Kyland. Kyland grinned as he turned to Atticus as he his heart sank, "I wonder about him."
"He should use that crystal in the Skull Fossil," said Roark, turning to them, "If you want my opinion. But, I get it though."
Leona turned around as she looked at him. She shrugged as she turned to Mack, who was also having his milkshake. Mack grumbled, "Well, if only. I do want to go to Valor Lakefront one day to visit him."
Roark turned around as he went to feel the boxing gloves. As he was feeling the gloves, he turned around as he went to find the Fossil. Apparently, it was missing. He looked up as he turned to Mack, "You might have to go pay him a visit."
"Why?" asked Mack.
"He took the fossil," said Roark.
Kyland took a deep breath as he rolled his eyes. Mack chuckled as he turned around, "He's that eager to be one of us, huh?"
"I guess… but hey… it's more of a reason to hang in his backyard," said Kyland, chuckling. Atticus shook his head as he looked at him, "You and your travel escapades… and Omastar picked you because-?"
"Relax, Atticus. I know this is serious," he said, "Sometimes, you just have to make light of the situation."
Lisa nodded slowly as she turned to Mack, "I think he's got a point."
Mack raised an eyebrow as he finished, "We'll see about that."
Later that afternoon…
Thomas pulled up to his driveway as he walked toward the front entrance. As he opened the door and disarmed the security system with a few moves, he re-armed the exterior as he made a sharp right to the first floor. As he sat in his study, he reached for his pocket, showing the Skull Fossil with the grey crystal. He looked at it as he went to examine it, using his tools.
"I am curious about this power," said Thomas, pulling up a chair as he went to examine it.
Sitting down in his chair, he turned on the lights as the sun was facing the west. It was going to be a long night of study to examine the crystals.
Next Chapter:

Joe, finding out what is going on, decides to try to break the spell… only for Joe and the others to face a tough monster. Can Joe stop this plot and save his brother?
Poké Rangers Dino Charge Chapter 17: Cartwright Maneuvers
A/N: So, we introduce Prince Thomas who will be someone you will get to know quite well. And yeah, this is going to be an interesting story arc that has already started. We are going to take a little break from that next week as we continue.
I know... where is the theme song? I got slammed this week. This is the first time I've been on my computer since Labor Day weekend. Please be patient. I also hope to update Friday. It will be probably be the only day I can. Otherwise, you would have to wait another week. I have a pretty full schedule this week coming (and I should be getting ready for sleep right now!)
Note, I wanted Roark to definitely be a part of the ranger experience. Like when I wrote the Hoenn saga, if you all remember Poké Rangers Samurai, the Gym Leaders had little involvement and the Elite Four had little involvement, so I wanted to try something a little different. Do you think they should be more involved? Let me know.
Have a great day!
