Third Person POV

In the meantime, Faline was walking with Ronno, who boasted to her, "That's the great thing about me! I don't feel any pain! Watch this!" He ran for a tree, and then headbutted himself against the tree, only to feel dizzy as he got up. "See?" he said in a dizzy state, "Nothing!"

Faline heard a different scream of pain and asked, "What was that?"

"Oh, probably just some poor, dumb animal caught in a trap," Ronno answered smugly, "So anyway…"

"YOUCH!" the voice cried again.

"Bambi!" Faline gasped as she darted to where the noise was coming from.

"HEY!" Ronno yelled with anger, "I wanna finish talking about me!"

Meanwhile, Bambi only had one more quill stuck in his rear, and Thumper said, "Just one more."

"It's okay, Bambi," Jeanette added with a smile, "Before you know it, you won't be in pain anymore!"

"Bambi!" Faline cried as she approached Bambi and his friends, "What happened?"

Bambi didn't want to admit that he crossed paths with a porcupine and got quills in his rear, so he turned around sheepishly just as Flower answered, "Bambi got stuck by a porcupine!"

"A porcupine?" Faline gasped, "Where?"

Bambi kept moving around as Thumper cried out, "Hold still!"

"It was nothing!" Bambi nervously said to Faline.

"Are you hurt?" the female fawn asked.

"Stop moving!" cried Thumper.

"I'm fine, really!" Bambi insisted, "It's just… OW!" Thumper had pulled the last quill out of Bambi's rear.

"Got it!" Thumper said proudly as he held the last quill.

Jeanette rolled her eyes and said to Faline, "That territorial twerp chased Bambi and me all around, and then he struck the poor fella in the rear!" She remembered how the porcupine was such a bully to Bambi.

"Bambi!" Ronno taunted as he entered the scene.

"What do you want, big boy?" Jeanette asked with a frown.

"I thought I recognized that scream!" Ronno continued as he approached Bambi and his friends, "I'm kinda surprised to see you moving!"

"What? It was just a porcupine!" Bambi shot back.

"No, no, no!" Ronno chuckled, "I'm talking about how you froze on the meadow!"

Bambi frowned at the memory of falling for Man's tricks, and Jeanette glared at Ronno, "How do you know about that?"

"Right in front of your father!" Ronno continued, making Bambi's ears perk up in shock.

"Ronno!" Faline shot at the older fawn.

"Don't feel bad," Ronno told Bambi in a smug way, "If there weren't enough cowards, we couldn't tell who the brave ones are! Hmm."

"I'm not a coward!" Bambi angrily shot at him.

"Don't you DARE cross the Great Prince, you punk!" Jeanette growled as she bared her teeth.

Bambi then bleated angrily at Ronno. Ronno just said with no interest, "Oh! Oh, yeah, sure! Sure, come on! Let's go, Faline."

"I'm staying HERE," Faline frowned at him.

Ronno moved his head and bumpy antlers towards Faline and insisted, "Aw, come on!"

"Ronno, quit it!" Faline yelled as she backed away.

"Leave her alone!" yelled Bambi.

"Yeah!" Jeanette added, "Don't make me get ugly on you!"

"Did you say something, Bambi?" Ronno sneered, "And what about the fox?"

"No! Uh, I mean… yes!" Bambi stammered before regaining bravery, "Uh, leave her alone!"

Jeanette growled at the older fawn like a rabid dog.

Ronno frowned at them as Bambi finished nervously, "Please?"

"You tell him, Bambi!" Thumper encouraged his friend.

"Oh, look!" Ronno mocked Thumper and Flower, "It's the wittle bunny and the wittle skunk! Did the Young Pwince pway with the wittle bunny and the wittle skunk?"

"SHUT UP!" Jeanette roared at the older fawn, "The Young Prince is not a baby, and you know it! One more remark like that, and I'll sic you with my canines!"

Thumper just pushed Bambi from behind, making the Young Prince headbutt Ronno into a puddle of mud.

Bambi's POV

Ronno got himself up, and then growled angrily at me, Jeanette, Flower, and Thumper. Thumper and I ran off while Flower fainted. Jeanette ran after Ronno, while Faline called out, "Run, Bambi!"

Thumper and I ran away from Ronno through the forest as Jeanette tried to catch up; we even made a mother opossum and her joeys play dead until the "danger" passed. Thumper climbed onto my head before we jumped across a little gap in the ground. Ronno had trouble getting a good jump, which was good for me and Thumper! But it wasn't long before Thumper and I arrived to an even bigger gap in the ground!

"The other way, the other way!" Thumper cried as he made me turn in the opposite direction. But soon, we saw Ronno. "Turn around, turn around!" Thumper cried as I turned around.

This time, I wanted to make sure we didn't fall through the gap and get hurt, so I ran really fast, and then did an extra-big jump. Thumper and I yelled as we went over the really big gap, and then we landed on the other side! I moaned a bit, and then I looked to see where we landed.

"We made it!" Thumper gasped.

I laughed as I got back on my feet, and then we looked back at Ronno, who was glaring at us on the other side of the gap. Jeanette just smirked and kicked some dirt into Ronno's face as she began to run down the edge of the gap.

"What's the matter?" Thumper teased Ronno, "Too scared? Ha-ha! Look at him! Look at him shaking!"

Ronno did back away with fear in his eyes as Thumper taunted, "Now's the baby, you big baby?"

But soon, Thumper and I ran right into my father!

My father looked down at us with a stern look; I gave a nervous chuckle and said, "Hello."

"I told you and Jeanette to stay near the den," My father reprimanded, "When I give you an order, I expect you to…" He looked over and saw the big gap in the ground, and then saw Jeanette walking around a mudhole in the middle of the gap to reach us. "How did you… did you jump?" my father asked with amazement.

I looked back at the gap, and then answered fearfully, "Uh, yes, sir."

"Hmmm," my father said, "I didn't make a jump like that until I had antlers."

I smiled a little bit as I realized that my father was proud of me for jumping across that big gap!

My father smiled a little bit, but then he cleared his throat and became serious as he said, "Yes. We should be going… home. Come, Jeanette!"

"Coming, sir!" Jeanette panted as she reached the side that we were on.

As the fox approached us, I said to her and Thumper, "He's never said anything nice like that before!"

"Phew, Bambi!" Jeanette breathed as she formed a grin, "That was amazing!"

"I guess he saw how brave you were!" Thumper said as he went onto my back, "Gosh, what a jump! It was like flying!"

I looked at Jeanette and asked her, "Jeanette, did you ever have to take really big jumps when you were a kit?"

Dumbfounded, Jeanette answered, "Um… uh, y-yes. In a way, uh, I practiced jumping a lot when I was younger, because, uh, I always wanted to fly!" She then gave a nervous giggle.

Third Person POV

As he watched the Young Prince and his friends walk away, Ronno frowned and asked himself, "What's the big deal? Anybody can make that jump!"

He then moved backward a little bit, and then tried jumping across to the other side. But when he landed, he was too short of firm ground, and very close to falling down! Ronno tried to get himself onto firm ground, but his hooves didn't have the right structure for climbing yet. So, he slipped and fell down into the mud pit below! When he resurfaced, he was completely covered in slimy mud.
