A/N Hello everyone. Here's the next chapter. Sorry it took so long. The explanation for why will be at the end. For now, enjoy.
The Loudest Yard/A Grand Prediction.
It's been two weeks since we managed to put the incident at the dance behind us. At this point life goes on.
Will was outside pulling weeds as he was hit hard in the back of the head.
"Ooof!" Will groaned as his face slammed into the dirt. Will picked his head up and looked to his left, he cleaned the dirt off his face and rubbed the back of his head because it ached from the hit. As he did, he noticed that on the ground next to him was a football.
"Sorry about that!" Lynn called.
"What's happening right now?" Will asked as he picked up the football and saw that Lynn and Lincoln walked over.
Lynn explained. "Lincoln needs to practice for his Pee Wee football league."
"Really?" Will asked. "Lincoln, you're the last person I'd expect to go out for sports."
"It was mom's idea." Lincoln groaned. "She wanted me to play outside and get some exercise."
Will giggled. "Didn't try to scheme your way out of it?"
"Oh he did." Lynn answered. "He went on a jog at the mall with Dad's friends. He just snuck to play in the arcade. Then he was ordered to do stretches with Mom with one of her workout video tapes." Lynn leaned in to whisper to Will's ear. "He taped a comic book to her butt, she was soooo mad. When he reached for it to turn the pages."
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Lynn and Will laughed together.
"Haha, laugh it up." Lincoln sighed, rolling his eyes. The two older kids slowly calmed down.
Gotta give it to Lincoln though he's got to have some sneaking skill, to tape a book to his mother's rear and not get noticed.
"Anyways." Lynn said. "I won't let Lincoln throw away a golden opportunity to play such a great sport so I'm gonna get him ready!"
"We were just practicing passes when I accidentally hit you." Lincoln added.
"Hey! I got an idea." Lynn said as she was hit with an insight. "Will you have a slight athletic build, why not help us practice?" Will smiled and shook his head.
"Come on Lynn, you got the wrong guy." He answered. "I'm not a fan of the sport."
I'm not really a fan of football, but my dad is!
"The more to work with us the merrier!" Lynn argued.
"But-" Will attempted to object but Lynn just grabbed his arm and pulled him and Lincoln to the Loud's yard.
I don't understand how or why I got roped into this. Now I'm involved in some odd training montage to get Lincoln ready for a sport he was forced into by his parents. The first thing we did for an hour was a tire run.
Lynn started first and effortlessly used her quick feet to move through a range of average size car tires that she laid out for the two to use.
Will rolled his eyes and attempted the same exercise. He almost tripped and stumbled at the end but made it over to Lynn. She just gave a slight, approving nod, saying Will did 'so-so.' They looked back to Lincoln and He attempted it next. Unfortunately he tripped on the first tire and pulled it up messing up the whole setup Lynn worked hard on.
Lynn said I showed promise, but Lincoln couldn't get it right at all. Next we tried target practicing passes.
They went to the Loud's tree and focused on the tire swing hanging from a branch, next to them was a small pile of footballs. Lynn demonstrated by performing a perfect pass that went through the hole. Will picked up one and tried to throw it but Lynn blew a whistle hanging around her neck and adjusted Will's arms and legs to the correct stance. Will threw the ball but it just hit the ground a few inches in front of the tire.
Lincoln went next as he performed the proper stance for a pass but as he pulled his arm back to release the ball it slipped out of his hand and it flew backwards and bounced off the ground, the ball bounced back up and hit Lincoln in the back of the head knocking him flat on his face.
After that, we took a break and Lynn tried to get us to drink raw eggs in a glass. Lincoln did and just puked it up. I wouldn't cause that sounded gross. We argued a little but when Lincoln' upchucked it. She saw my point and dropped the issue.
Last exercise of the day was just a long run to the city, around a block and back home.
Lynn held a stopwatch as she started it and the three all took off running towards the city. Hours later at sundown, Lynn and Will got back to the house and Lynn hit the button to stop the timer. She looked as if she didn't break a sweat at all despite panting and being out of breath. Will was also out of breath but also looked like he was drowning in his own fluids. Lincoln however was nowhere to be seen.
A couple of inches away the city bus stopped at the stop between the Loud's and Mr. Grouse's house and let off a passenger. It was Lincoln who didn't look tired at all. Lynn and Will both shot him with an angry glare.
Next we moved to the park since we needed a lot of space for this exercise. Lynn put her own football helmet on Lincoln and we did running pass plays and Lincoln was the receiver as Lynn passed the ball. I was told to be the defender and try to tackle Lincoln. I don't think I have the strength to do it.
Lincoln and Will were facing each other as the two were staying in a three point stance.
"Hut Hut!" Lynn called as the play commenced Lynn arched her arm back as Lincoln swerved around Will and ran past him. Lynn fired the ball and Will charged at Lincoln however it was apparent that he was purposely holding back.
Fortunately for Will, the ball smacked Lincoln in the face and he just fell to the ground.
Well, at least I don't have to tackle him now.
"You ok?" Will asked as he picked Lincoln up.
"Hahahaha! That was pathetic!" Laughed two very large boys that stood tall and wide over Lincoln and even Lynn. They both wore blue football jerseys that were torn up, especially on the sleeves and neckline.
One of the boys asserted. "Now if you two are done, we need the field. We gotta practice for the Junior Football league."
"You guys are playing in the League too?" Lincoln asked nervously, obviously intimidated by their size. "What team are you guys playing on?"
"The Hazletucky Hockers!" The other boys said as they inhaled deeply and spat two large wads. Will shook his head in disgust.
"That's gross." Will remarked. "Is Hazletucky a real place? I never heard of it."
"Don't know." The boy answered. "What team are you on?" He asked Lincoln.
"The Royal Woods Roosters!" Lincoln said with enthusiasm. "He and Lynn waved their hands at each other and waved their hands at each other imitating a rooster's wattle."
"Cocka-doodle-doo!" They cheered.
"Nice cheer." One of the boy's scoffed. "When we play you, you're Cocka-doodle-doomed!"
"Yeah, I'll pluck me a few feathers!" The other boy mocked. Lynn gritted her teeth just as Will was about to crack his knuckles. She walked up to the boys and raised her fist at them.
"You're lucky I'm not playing." Lynn threatened. "Cause I'd whoop all your butts."
"Sure you would Ponytail!" One of the boys mocked, playfully ruffling Lynn's hair. They walked away laughing. Lynn Looked furious at them, clearly mocking her athletic ability because she's a girl. Will's anger started to bubble as he watched them make fun of two of his friends. The two looked at each other with a violent glint in their eyes and nodded, they then started to walk slowly to get the two boys.
Just like on Halloween two years ago right?
However Lincoln pulled the two back with their shoulders. He had a big smile on his face.
"That's a great idea Lynn!" Lincoln said happily. Lynn raised an eyebrow to Lincoln, obviously confused. "You pretend to be me and play in my place."
"Yeah right." Lynn scoffed. Will was also skeptical at this idea.
"Why not?" Lincoln asked. "There's no girl's leagues around here! This will give you an opportunity to play and get me out of getting killed out there."
"Lincoln, how could you even pull off a stunt like that?" Will questioned. Facepalming.
"Hmmm." Lynn thought. "Obviously this idea was now sparking her interest. I could use another sport to play in my free time. I only have four right now?" Will's eyes widened hearing that.
Four? Really? Which ones are they? How does she find time to play or even practice them all!?
"You know what? Deal!" Lynn answered with a big smirk on her face.
"Great." Will said stretching his arms out since they were sore from the exercise. "Does this mean we can go home now?"
Of course I'll help my best friend get ready for this sport. However they clearly got the wrong guy for something like this.
The weeks went by and Will noticed when he was either doing late yard work, or taking out the trash, that Lincoln was walking away from his house in his football uniform and until he was out of sight Lincoln met Lynn at a tree and gave his uniform to Lynn who stormed off to play the game in Lincoln's place. Lincoln just sat under the tree with a comic. Once sundown came Lynn came back with Lincoln's uniform all dirty. She gave it back to Lincoln, but before they returned, once Lincoln got the uniform on, Lynn slapped some mud and dirt on Lincoln to not raise suspicion with their family.
Once it was the second to last game of the season, it was sundown so the game was over. The next game was to be the final game of the season. Lincoln returned home and Lynn had to wait a little while before she could. To continue to maintain the illusion. Lincoln went inside the house first while Lynn hung outside. Will was sitting on his porch and saw the whole thing. Once Lynn was alone, Will whistled at her and she came up to his front porch.
Will smiled. "Several weeks and you managed to get through almost the entire season. I'm impressed that you guys managed to pull this off."
"I admit I don't like Lincoln skipping out on sports, but I'd love to play some football." Lynn said excitedly.
"So the next game is the last one?" Will asked. Before she could answer, suddenly the door opened and Nicholas stepped out with a small handful of newspapers.
"Hey Lynn. You must be proud of your brother!" Nicholas said as he flipped the sports sections of the newspapers, some being from as far back as two weeks ago. Each one showcased the Roosters winning and the amazing ability of their star player Lincoln Loud. In fact it was front page news on Yesterday's paper. The headline read, 'Crowd Loves Loud!'
"Woah! I had no idea that I..I mean Lincoln was so famous!" Lynn stammered almost slipping up. Will shot her a look saying, 'watch out!'
Lynn took each of the papers and examined them closely. Her heart and mind were ecstatic seeing her image in the news, even if everyone thought it was Lincoln. Will however looked a little uneasy.
Man, I hope Lincoln doesn't get treated like a hometown hero. Not only would his cover be blown, it's also not right especially since Lynn was the one doing all the hard work.
"So next weekend is the championship game?" Nicholas asked. Lynn nodded. Nicholas smiled and pulled Will in on shoulder causing the two to stand side to side in front of Lynn. "Well guess what, we're gonna be there to see Lincoln win the big game!"
"WHAT!?" Will and Lynn shouted together, both now starting to feel nervous.
"Come on, we're friends of the family." Nicholas said. "Besides Will, I know you wouldn't miss your best friend's biggest moment in his life!"
"Uh, sure!" Will agreed, starting to sweat.
"See you next Saturday!" Nicholas said as he turned around and walked back into the house.
"Not good!" Lynn said. "Didn't you say you're dad's like an expert at sniffing out when something's wrong?"
"Well. There's always a chance he won't find out." Will shrugged, sounding unsure of himself. Lynn just rolled her eyes.
"I hope you're right." Lynn said, staring Will down. "If your dad blows this. Leni's not gonna be the only one mad at you."
I get what she's saying, but come on. What would I have done if my dad messed it up?
Lincoln came rushing over with an annoyed look on his face with yesterday's paper in his arm.
"Lynn! You were only supposed to take my place!" Lincoln exclaimed, while showing her yesterday's headline. "Not be a big star!"
"Sorry Linc." Lynn shrugged. "I only know how to give a hundred and ten percent!"
"Unfortunately if they made you a quarterback, becoming a big star is kind of unavoidable." Will remarked. "If you're a winner and in the most important position on the field."
"Well now we got a problem!" Lincoln said anxiously. "Since I'm so good, the whole family's gonna come and watch me play next week."
"So does my dad." Will said. Lincoln's eyes bugged out because their secret is all but ruined now.
"Don't worry." Lynn said, trying to calm the situation. "We fooled everyone all season, there's no reason we can't do it for one more game." Lincoln and Will looked at each other and gulped with unease.
The next week came and everyone was sitting in the bleachers. Some of the Louds were dressed in supportive attire. Lucy was holding a gray sign that said, 'Embrace the Darkness.' written with black paint. As Lana and Lily held signs that both said 'GO!' Lily's sign had a hole in the 'O' where she could poke her head through.
Lana had her face painted half and half. One side yellow, the other side red. Lily was wearing a baby size rooster's jersey. Leni was wearing a jersey herself while Mr Loud was wearing an oversized rooster mascot costume. It was quite embarrassing, yet how none of the Louds were bothered by this was quite surprising.
Will and Nicholas were sitting next to the Louds as they both were dumbfounded by Mr. Loud's outfit.
"I literally don't see Lincoln anywhere." Lori said, scanning the field with her binoculars. As she looked around she stopped and jumped in surprise as her eyes found the enlarged head of Lincoln.
"Hey guys!" Lincoln called to his family waving. He's wearing his uniform and shoulder pads and carrying his helmet under his arm and his face has black eye grease on his cheeks.
"THERE'S MY LITTLE FOOTBALL STAR!" Mrs. Loud cheered as if she was announcing it to the whole crowd. She also wore a jersey and a red beanie. Her left hand had a big yellow foam finger with a '#1' etched onto it.
"Hey Lincoln! Sign my hat!" Lana called as she threw her red cap at Lincoln. It just overshot him and landed several feet away.
"Hehe." Lincoln said nervously, obviously since he failed to catch the hat. "I'm just saving my energy and talent for the game!" Lincoln took off and disappeared into the crowd of identical players. No one could really make out who was who since all the kids wore the same outfit and helmets that greatly covered up their faces.
That made Will nervous, however he noticed his dad was surveying the bleachers and noticed someone was missing.
"Hey Lynn." Nicholas said to Mr. Loud, who he was sitting next to. "I don't see Lynn Jr. anywhere."
"I don't quite get it myself." Mr. Loud replied. "She said she had a bad stomach problem and was probably gonna spend a long time on the toilet. She took off to the restrooms and hasn't come back." The Loud Parents shrugged and Nicholas started to get a suspicious face, Will noticed this and started to fidget.
Oh man he's gonna figure it out!
However he just ended up shrugging too. Will breathed a sigh of relief.
After some time passed the first quarter was about to start and the opposing team, the Hockers took the field. Will noticed the two large boys from their visit from the park. Then the announcer began to introduce the Roosters.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! Give it up for your hometown Royal Woods Roosters!"
The crowd all stood up and roared in applause for their home team.
"Introducing first, the star quarterback, number one, Lincoln Loud!"
The crowd's cheers got louder as the clapping grew more thunderous as a single player made it out onto the field and raised his fist in the air acknowledging the crowd. Will smiled and nodded, knowing fully well, that was really Lynn out there. Unfortunately Will grew even more nervous as Lily seemed to take notice of something under the bleachers. Will closed one eye and looked in the space between the planks of finished wood everyone was sitting on. Directly underneath the crowd was Lincoln dressed in his normal clothes, clearly hiding out.
"Also Where's Luna?" Nicholas asked. In fact. Since he brought it up Will hadn't noticed that Luna was also absent as well.
Mr. Loud smiled. "You'll see her pretty soon." The announcer spoke again over the P.A.
"Ladies and gentlemen, as a special treat, Luna Loud will be performing our national anthem. We ask that you please rise and kindly remove your hats.
Everyone turned to a small stage with Luna standing at it with her guitar. She was wearing a yellow and red sweater, with a red bandana on her head. She began to strum her guitar loudly and wildly as she began to sing the lyrics changing her pitch and tone with a lot of harsh yelling. As if the Star Spangled Banner was written as a rock song.
"Oh saaaaaaay can you seeeeee! By the dawn's early light!"
"What so proouuuuuuuuudly we hailed at the twilight's last GLEAAMMMING!"
Some people covered their ears, because she was clearly being noisy. Will just looked baffled as well as Nicholas.
"Who's broad stripes and bright staaaaaaaaars! Through the perilous fight!
"O'er ramparts weeeeee watched! We're so gallantly STREEEEAAAAAAAMING!"
"And the rocket's red glare! The bombs bursting in air!"
"Gave proof through the night. That our flag was STILL THERE!"
"O'say does that star spangled banner yet waaaaaaaaaave!"
"For the land of the FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! And the home of the BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE!"
Once Luna finished her extreme singing of the national anthem she did a devil hand sign to the crowd.
"Let's play ball dudes!" Luna cheered. The crowd paused for a moment not knowing what to make of what they just watched and heard. However they just broke out in cheers and applause.
I wasn't entirely bothered by Luna's own take on our nation's song. I think I agree with everyone else that we can't seem to make heads or tales of it. However, seeing everyone's positive reaction now, I suppose it doesn't really matter.
Just before the Roosters sent their quarterback to meet the referee for the coin toss. Will noticed one player quickly rush off the field towards the bleachers and return again almost immediately.
Oh boy, Lincoln and Lynn are continuously swapping incase one needs to be visible. I hope they can pull this off.
The coin toss commenced and Hockers won, and get to receive the ball first and the game started.
Time passes, near to the end of the second quarter. and the Roosters were in the lead. With highlights with Lynn scoring a touchdown and a sack while on defense. Once the clock struck zero the referee blew his whistle.
"Halftime!" He called. Will looked at Nicholas and it seemed as if he didn't suspect a thing. This put a smile on Will's face as he felt like he could finally relax.
Lynn was walking towards the bleachers and there she was stopped by the coach and Royal Woods staunch reporter, Katherine Mulligan. A tall woman, pretty good looking for a T.V. personality. She's a tall woman, wearing a yellow dress suit and her ears adorned with big pearl earrings. Her long brown hair was tied into a ponytail and tied with a matching yellow ribbon. The reporter stood next to the coach and it was clear that they were trying to get a word from Lynn about the performance of the first half of this big game.
Will noticed this and cringed at the overindulgence of it all.
If I didn't know any better it seems Royal Woods treats its football games as serious as the whole country does with the NFL.
Will took out his cell phone and opened the internet on it to see if he could catch what Mulligan was reporting on. Will looked onto the field and saw Lynn rushing off of the field and Lincoln coming back to answer her questions. Will found the live feed being broadcasted on the Royal Woods news website and opened it up. He could see and hear what was being picked up on the camera.
"That last play was sensational!" Mulligan commented. "What can you tell us about it?" She lowered the microphone to Lincoln so he could answer. Lincoln however just stammered and sweated as he clearly didn't have any idea what was going on in this game.
"That…last play….uh, t-t-the thing is, that was in the past, and I'm all about the future. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go to the bathroom." Lincoln stormed off camera as Will looked up from his phone and saw Lincoln sprinting away from the reporter.
Will put his phone back in his pocket and continued to watch the game as Lynn returned to the field.
More time passed and it was the last thirty seconds of the fourth quarter. The Hockers started to mount a comeback and they were only down one point, but the Roosters still had possession of the ball. If they can just run out the clock and not greatly mess it up, they'll win.
Unfortunately the defenders of the Hockers pushed through the line on the start of the play and trampled them and three of the large boys violently tackled Lynn. This unfortunate ruffness was a sack and caused the roosters to lose yards. Will looked at the group of boys who tackled Lynna and he started to get angry, he recognized two of them as the same boys who promised to pulverize Lincoln.
Man if I was down there, what I'd do to those two.
Will and the others winced at seeing Lynn getting brutalized. Some of the Louds covered their mouths in shock. The Loud parents, fearing for their child, bolted down from the bleachers to see their 'son.' Once the Hockers got off Lynn two Rooster players got a medical stretcher and loaded Lynn onto it and removed her from the field. She was clutching her ankle but not roaring in pain.
Man that was brutal, but man Lynn's a real trooper for not crying out. I'd be roaring in agony if I were her.
The coach looked Lynn over and started by removing her helmet right when Mr. and Mrs. Loud arrived. They were shocked to see who was really playing the football games instead of Lincoln. The coach was just confused. Unfortunately Will and Nicholas weren't close enough to hear what was going on down there. Unfortunately though, Nicholas as well as the other Louds were also stunned at this revelation.
Will watched as Lincoln appeared and started talking to Lynn and his parents. However Will felt a slight heated look coming from his left. Will slowly turned his head and saw Nicholas giving him a scary face.
"What?" Will asked, raising his arms defensively.
"Obviously, that's not Lincoln." Nicholas said in a soft but scolding voice. "Did you know anything about this?"
"Uhhhhhhhh." Will said. His eyes darted around trying to find a way out of this, and Nicholas sighed. He figured it out almost immediately.
"I'm not angry, son." Nicholas explained. "I'm a little disappointed you didn't speak up about Lincoln scheming to disobey his parents. Although you're not in trouble because this really wasn't our concern." Will breathed a sigh of relief.
I'm surprised and happy that I'm not being yelled at, or worse getting grounded again.
After a few minutes passed Lynn was benched and her leg was being iced. Everyone cheered as Lincoln finally did what he was supposed to do. He put on his uniform and helmet and took Lynn's place on the field. There were only twenty seconds left on the clock. Will clenched his fist and leaned in anticipation.
"Come on Lincoln." Will said softly to himself. "One play left. Don't screw this up!"
The teams lined up and the whistle blew and the play commenced. The ball was tossed to Lincoln who simply stood still. However he noticed the two large boys who injured Lynn charging at him and he panicked and clutched the ball tightly and started running around with no clear direction.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Nicholas yelled at the field. Will winced at the loud yell of his father.
Will explained. "Obviously trying to escape being tackled rather than trying to score."
"PUT IT IN THE END ZONE!" Nicholas screamed at the field some more. Lincoln started to run towards the opposite end of the field. The opposite end where his team is trying to put the ball. Will facepalmed.
"NO! NOT THAT END ZONE!" Nicholas roared. Lincoln raced into the opposite end zone and stopped. One of the boys tackled him anyway, only this was a light shove. The whistle Ref's whistle blew as the clock ran out. Lincoln stood up to hear roars of boos coming from the crowd. Lincoln looked shocked and confused, not knowing what was going on.
Man I know Lincoln didn't want to play the sport, I thought at least he knew the rules. Getting tackled in the wrong end zone gave them a Safety, scoring the Hockers two points. The Roosters lose!
Will facepalmed again. The rest of the Roosters charged at Lincoln in a rage filled mob, upset over his dumb mistake. Lincoln bolted off the field, it was clear that not only would his teammates tear him apart, so would the crowd.
Two weeks later things seemed to finally calm down. Despite Lincoln screwing up this big game, some good came out of everyone witnessing Lynn's incredible ability.
Will was inside the Loud's sitting on the right end of the couch looking over an important headline in the newspaper. Lynn was sitting on the other end with her leg elevated in the center. She's wearing an ankle sleeve while it heals.
"It looks like your activities got some changes going in this town." Will said as he showed Lynn the headline.
Lynn read the headline aloud. "Girl football leagues begin next month." "Aw yes! They're gonna be aching to sign me up!"
"You just sprained your ankle?" Will asked, looking at her leg.
"Yeah I should be fine soon." She replied.
"How'd things go with Lincoln?" Will asked.
Lynn explained at length. "Well, The team managed to catch up with him after he bolted from the field, they all pounded him badly, luckily there were no permanent injuries. Also he got a lifetime ban from the league due to deceiving them. Mom and Dad wanted to ground him, but they decided that getting beaten up by his teammates was punishment enough."
Will chuckled. "Man, my dad would throttle me if I pulled what he did."
"I'm glad he didn't figure out what we were doing." Lynn remarked.
"He did find out I knew something though." Will added. Lynn put on a mischievous look.
"You know if I weren't hurt I'd put you in a Boston Crab right now."
"Give it a rest already!" Will scoffed. "How many times do I gotta tell you to stop trying to wrestle me?"
"Whatever." Lynn dismissed. Will paused thinking of the first day When Lynn decided she would wrestle him almost every time they encountered each other.
(Flashback)
A year after Will and Lynn saved Lincoln and Clyde's Halloween, Will's attitude had changed and was pleasant to be around.
When I was a jerk, I only slightly opened up to Lincoln only, mostly because dad forced me to and, well. Lincoln's the only boy in the Loud family. At this time I was more open and started to befriend them all and even share my interest with them. This is just one of those moments.
Lynn and Will were watching Wrestling on the TV. It was WWE Monday Night Raw. It was a match between Kane and Rob Van Dam. Will was watching calmly, Lynn was pumping her fist really getting into it.
Yeah as I said some time ago. It is my favorite sport, although I am just a very casual fan at best. Lynn is nuts about it, although she's nuts about any sport really.
Lynn jumped up and swung her fist around like crazy as Kane managed to pull off his finisher by grabbing Rob Van Dam by the neck and lifting him up and slamming him down, performing a Chokeslam. Kane pins his opponent and wins the match.
"Yeah!" Lynn cheered. "You rock Kane!"
"He's cool." Will remarked. "I do love Rob's flexibility and maneuvers with his kicking moves." In Lynn's excitement she gave Will an evil smirk. "Lynn, why are you looking at me like that?"
"Let's wrestle!" Lynn suggested.
"What?" Will yelped, standing up and slowly backing away from Lynn. "No I can't! I don't know how!" However Lynn didn't lose her smirk, Will yelled as he tried to run behind the couch but Lynn chased him and caught him. She grabbed Will's waist and flipped him over and gave Will and piledriver onto the floor.
(End Flashback)
Ever since then Lynn's been wrestling me almost every time she sees me and I hate it. I protest several times but she just seems to ignore me.
Will decided to change the subject.
"So last weekend, you guys went on a camping trip somewhere?" He asked.
"Oh man, it was insane." Lynn answered, getting excited. "We were getting bored out of our minds because of the over hour long car ride. When we tried to entertain ourselves Lucy decided to make future predictions for us using Tarot Cards."
"How did that go?" Will asked.
"Lucy predicted Lincoln's trip would be tragic. He tried his best to avoid any danger. It came true because he ended up missing all the fun stuff just trying to be safe. He did end up having fun when he watched a geyser erupt. He was in fact the only one to see it. Almost all her predictions for the rest of us came true."
"Which ones didn't come true?" Will asked again.
Lynn explained further. "It mostly occurred when we stopped at a gas station. For Lori, it was predicted she'd go on a trip. She tripped into a pile of trash. For Luan, she was impressed by a pun joke Dad told her. Which included her getting sent flying by a gas station's air pump. Lucy predicted she'd be 'blown away.' For Lola, it was really odd. She was told the Universe would open doors for her. The Mr Universe powerlifting champion was there and opened the door for her. Lana had riches predicted for her, and she found one dollar in the bathroom. For me, I had to wait in a long line for the bathroom, she was told her patients would be tested. Leni found a pair of shoes she adores, after Lucy predicted she'd fall in love. Luna would be rewarded with extra, which happened when she got two snacks for one purchase at a vending machine."
Will laughed at it all. "You know, I can't say I believe in that stuff. Although I don't really doubt it either."
Lynn explained even more. "Lisa's was the strangest. She thought she found a new species once we arrived at the park. An owl that had antlers. Lucy said she'd make a scientific discovery before she entered the park. Although in the end it was a scam by a park ranger."
"So she could be wrong then." Will said. Lynn nodded in agreement.
However unbeknownst to Lynn or Will Lucy was sitting at the dining room table, laying out her Tarot Cards again. She was looking at Will looking to make a prediction for him. She was wearing a purple turban on her head with a blue jewel in the center of it.
She slowly moved cards along the three stacks of cards. One on the left and right and one in the center.
"Ok Will, let's see what's in your future." Lucy said silently to herself.
It was time to draw, she reached into the pile in the center and drew the card on top of the stack. It was the Six of Cups card in the upright position. Lucy was very much intrigued by this.
"The Six of Cups. For you Will, the past will return. The question is though how will that manifest? A memory? A thing? Or maybe a person will return?" She held the card up to her face so that it as well as Will were both in her field of vision. She looked at them both and put on a big grin. She had a hunch of this prediction's manifestation and hoped this hunch was right.
A/N That's it for this chapter. Now the reason why this chapter took so long is because the ending section with the Tarot Cards, I admit I know nothing about fortune telling by this method. I did some research but I must admit, I probably didn't execute it well. Or even had the right card selected for the meaning I desire. For any of you out there that knows Tarot, I'd appreciate some advice. Let me know in a PM or a review what you think of this chapter, as you read this I was already hard at work on the next one and it shouldn't take too much time to release it. See you all next time!
