Rean found Alisa talking to Juna in the cafeteria section of the train. It made Rean happy to see his girlfriend getting along with one of his students. Normally he wouldn't interrupt them, but….
"Alisa, are you sure you're alright? You don't look too good." Rean asked.
"Hmm? Yeah, I'm fine. I think that I'm just feeling out of it after everything that's happened."
Thinking back to that conversation they had after they had fought McBurn and Campanella, and Vita and that masked man had appeared, just convinced Rean that his girlfriend wasn't fine at all. Far from it, in fact. He was sure that they were all thinking the same thing about the masked man, especially after seeing what appeared to be Ordine, the Azure knight. The only person capable of piloting it was Crow. And the guns that the man used were eerily similar to Crow, too. It was impossible though, since Crow had died during the Civil War. They were all there for the burial, after all. And yet, that wasn't what seemed to be bothering Alisa. No, what was bothering her was the voice that could be heard coming out of the sphere floating next to the man who called himself "Azure Siegfried". Did she recognize it? And if so, from where?
Rean approached the two girls and cleared his throat, "Alisa, can we talk? It's important."
Alisa looked at Rean and nodded, "Sure. Sorry about this Juna, but do you mind if we can finish this talk later?"
Juna smiled, "Sure. I'll see you two later!". And with that, the pink haired girl walked away, leaving Rean and Alisa alone.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Alisa asked.
"Not here, I don't want us to get interrupted. Let's go to my room." Rean said, grabbing her hand.
The minute the two of them were inside Rean's room, Alisa turned to ask Rean the same question as before, but before she could get the words out, she found herself being pulled into a hug. She was startled for a moment before she slowly hugged Rean back.
"Rean, what's-?"
"Are you alright? You've been kind of off ever since we came back from Stargazer's Tower. I know that we all have a lot on our minds because of that Azure Siegfried guy. But he's not what's bugging you, right? At least, not really."
Alisa sighed. Leave it to Rean to see right through her.
"I really can't hide anything from you, can I? You're right, that's not what's been on my mind ever since we came back. It's that…voice we heard coming out of that sphere. This will probably sound crazy to you, but it sounded like my father."
What?
That was impossible. Alisa's father died when she was a little girl. Hell, Sharon had just admitted to him the other day that she was the one who killed him on one of her missions for Ouroboros!
And yet….
And yet, after what they had seen yesterday, it seemed likely that "Azure Siegfried" was actually Crow. Even though they had all seen him die, and were there when they buried his body. If Crow was somehow still alive, couldn't that mean that Alisa's father was as well? And if so, what did it all mean?
Rean's thoughts came to a stop when felt Alisa shaking, and heard her sniffling.
Alisa was crying.
"Alisa…"
"I'm sorry, it's just….none of this is making any sense to me. My father is supposed to be dead, so that couldn't have been his voice that I heard. That's what the logical part of my brain is telling me. But the part of me that's still the little girl who wants to see her father again is saying and hoping for something different. If he really is alive, then why hasn't he contacted me or mother all of this time? I- what am I going to do, Rean?"
That really was the question, wasn't it? What were they going to do? About Ouroboros, Azure Siegfried…everything. Rean thought for a moment before he spoke.
"You know that I'll always support you no matter what", Rean whispered, kissing the top of her head, "so what do you want to do, Alisa?"
"...I don't know. I really don't know."
Rean supposed that was fair. It wasn't everyday that you were faced with the possibility of a dead relative coming back to life.
"Whatever you end up deciding to do, I'll be here for you." Rean said, rubbing her back reassuringly.
"Always"
