I hated Baal, but it was like everyone around me thought of Narnia as a user. He wasn't. We were careful, he introduced the tea, even made sure I was drinking it. But I was different, what if it wouldn't work on me. Everything else would not phase me.

I held my stomach. No, don't think those thoughts. You researched this; it's been proven to work for centuries. The other words swam around the shores of my mind. Baal basically said the same thing as Grandpa, the words were not wrong.

I tapped my fingers on the table. He was not lying entirely; at some point he must have said something to Baal. The waves of his words, something was amiss. What if he was only using me? I never asked those questions, never looked for the right answer. I shook my head, sighing.

The man on the ground looked up and back down to the ground, and I heard a sniffle. "Please, I have a wife and kids at home."

"You should have thought of that before you did what you did." Could Narnia be using me? Baal seemed so sure, but my heart was on the fence. He had some indication.

"My daughter was sick, I took the blood, consumed it. Then I took it to her and gave it to her. She recovered in a few days. It was a miracle."

"How did the prison fight happen?"

"One inmate hit another. It was downhill from there. Please, you must understand. If you do, surly you would."

"Do you have a picture of you daughter." He reached into his pocket; he pulled it out staring at it for a long moment. My eyes watered, he would do anything for her. Even risking this to save her.

I moved, sitting on the floor, legs crossed. "May I?" I held my hand out and he handed it to me. "You can relax, just sit. What is your name and station." I looked at her sunken face.

"Officer Amon, I preside over a riot squad. Her bones would not grow properly; they were too small. Her organs were growing normally, but her chest was not big enough. She could barely breathe, she had a few weeks, maybe a month or two if she were lucky. I only gave it to her because she did not deserve that kind of suffering."

"May I barrow this?"

"Take it."

I left the room; Narnia was there watching me. "Soft heart all of a sudden?"

"Everything at once, welcome to my roller coaster." I looked at the photo. "You know, I have been resisting this, and it was because my blood created origin like demons. I did not wish that. Now I see it also might save them all too."

"What should we do then?"

"Why are you asking me?" My eyes tore into tears. "I was given this thing, a crown. There are so many unanswered questions that no one can tell me. Peace, destruction. I just saw a monster. I must know if what he said was true, but I must see it with my own two eyes."

"You see you in that photo, don't you."

"As someone who lived it in a past life, yes, and I wish Deri was here. I feel like he would know, seemed like he did with all the things I had uncovered." I felt something wave through the right side of my body, and out the left. I touched my chest.

"Are you alright?"

I nodded. "I'm fine."

"Come to me." I turned.

"You hear that?"

"No, are you sure you're feeling alright? You look pale." He reached up to touch my forehead.

I ducked under his hand. "Don't touch me, I'm fine. Don't baby me."

"Vi, I am merely worried."

"Will you allow me or not?"

He looked in the two-way mirror window, and back. "I am unsure if it is wise, but we do need to know exactly what it did. This also proves it is transmissible from one to another. In three or more pass downs. Baal took your blood, Amon took Baals blood, and then Amon gave his blood to his daughter."

"Than we ask, we need to know what he knows."

Narnia followed me into the room with him. "Sit at the table." He stood from the floor and took a seat. Narnia stood behind him, arms crossed. "I need to know how you gave it to her?"

"In a drink. Baal gave me a drop and told me to wait a little while. Until my blood turned dark. Once it was dark, I could give it to her."

"Who all knows about this?"

"Just me, and Baal. My wife does not know what I have done. I pretended it was a special medicine, and to accept the miracle."

"It was my blood originally that started this."

"And your hording it?" His fists clinched. "If it can do that for her, think of all the others that could benefit."

"Yes, but it makes you all my servants. You all do as I tell you."

"And? We need a new demon king, which could be you. If all listen, then everything will be solved. No more war, why? Because you say so." He slammed his fist on the table, yelling. "Why are you not doing something when you so clearly can!"

Narnia grabbed his hair, yanking his head back. "Don't yell at her. We all want peace and fighting is not the answer."

"I'm sorry sir."

Narnia shoved his head forward. "We will be visiting your home. I need to see this transformation myself. I know how sick your daughter was, and if you claim she is now in perfect health then I want a blood sample. Starting with you."

Narnia summoned a needle, and Amon held his arm out. Narnia leaned on the table as he injected the needle and withdrew blood. I watched the dark liquid fill the vial. He held it up for good measure.

"It looks like yours."

"Amon, you lead the way. Take us to your home."

He nodded, not looking at us. "If there is fault, it is only on me, not her."

Narnia dropped the sample off, and we flew off to his home. He lived in a rural neighborhood, with kids running around and having fun. We landed and a little girl ran up to him and hugged him. She looked maybe four or five.

"Daddy, your home early. I missed you." There was not a thing that looked wrong with her. Her face was plump and rosy, her physic perfect for a child her age.

"Hi, sweetheart. I brought Narnia and Violetta with me today." She looked up at Narnia and waved. She looked at me and hid behind her father.

I crouched down. "Hi, I'm Violetta, but you can call me Viola or Vi. Whatever you prefer."

She peeked, our eyes meeting. They flashed black, and she smiled. "Hi, I'm Animosity. You can call me Ann. It is good to meet you. Your eyes are like mine."

"That they are, I came to see how your health has progressed. You look much better than the photo I seen."

"Daddy said we were getting new pictures this weekend to celebrate my recovery. Is it because of you?"

"It is." Her father spoke.

"Oh, you're the doctor. Thank you!" She hugged me, and I had to brace myself to not fall back.

I picked her up. "Something like that."

"Are you a princess? You have a crown."

I chuckled. "Something like that, where is home."

Amon spoke. "You can follow me."

I carried her all the way to their home and stood her on the ground. Narnia Coaxed her over and placed a hand on her head and then her chest. He confirmed her perfect health, and he proceeded to take a sample of her blood. She did not cry, and it made me feel a tinge of guilt.

She was used to this. Used to doctors and needles. Something no child should find easily. She laughed and showed Narnia her new toy. I watched him smile at her and play along with everything she said. He summoned a piece of candy, handing it to her.

She hopped off the couch, running away to her mom in the kitchen. "Nari, what was that?"

"I may not want kids yet, but that does not mean I don't like them. They are treasure, and the only ones naive enough to not know my reputation yet."

"I heard long before I met you, I let you show me who you really were."

"Your different. As for the blood, it looks the same. We might not be able to hush this much longer. Once others know, they will ask for your help. They will not care for the downsides of servitude if it means saving their or their child's life."

I pressed my lips. "What do I do? What is the right thing?"

"For once, I am not sure. It is helpful, but is it right as for the bringing back origins part? One-person controlling the masses as a ruler. It would automatically place you in the demon king position. Something you oppose."

I exhaled; Lakendra walked in with drinks. "Here, we cannot thank you enough. You gave our daughter a second chance."

"Thanks."

She sat in a single armchair. "My husband told me what he did. I am upset at the deception, but when I think about it. I would have done the same thing. He told me that salvation came with a price, so I am asking one question. Do you plan to take her, and force her to do stuff for you?"

I waved my hands in front of my face. "No, no. nothing like that. I needed to know if it was really my blood that had done this, and it seems it is transmittable. What your daughter received was a hand down from two others, but I was the start."

"Vi, we need to go. It was nice seeing you again Lakendra. Tell no one what has happened here, or your daughter will be targeted for her blood."

She combed her fingers through her long blonde hair. "I see, okay."

Narnia took the new sample to the lab; the technician gave use the report for all the samples with similarities. When the little girls came up, we looked at them all side by side. There was no evidence of Baal's blood in Amon. There was no relation to one another but one gene. The one in my blood.

Narnia and I decided to name it, Origin gene. As it changed demons and created an origin like demon. Narnia went back to work, and I hit the books. I found every book possible that mentioned Origins, but it was all theory in Sullivans library. Filling my notebook with all I found interesting. I moved to Babyls library.

I spent two days doing this, branching to other things. I saw trapping circles and other spells not taught in school. I thought of Khotan, and he found quite a bit in a short about of time. The curse he had seemed like a seal if he were still here. I teleported to Narnia's library and called out to him.

He appeared in a few seconds. He looked around, eyes falling on me. "You summoned me?"

"I did, I read something." It was a long shot, but if I could relive evil cycles then maybe I could break a curse too.

He pressed his lips. "What your you are saying?"

"You were cursed right? Where is the symbol."

His head tilted. "The Symbol, you mean the mark they put on me?"

I nodded, "Yes. That." It was a seal, had to be.

"On my body." He lifted his hand; a small white line appeared. "It is below the cells." I had not been that low in this place.

I followed Khotan to the deepest parts of the castle. Passing by areas that had not been visited in years. Past prison cells, and then lower. Across a torture room, and then more stairs leading to a river. He pointed down in the water.

"Good luck retrieving it. It is further down than most can swim."

"I don't have to swim, if I do this, can you help me with something before you move on?"

"That is?"

I smirked. "One last research project on origins."

He rubbed his chin. "I suppose, but I think you're crazy."

"I am." I summoned my violin and played a melody.

"I don't see how that will help."

"Shush." I parted the water around the white line. Twenty feet down his body lay as a pile of bones. I lifted them from the ground and moved them to the surface on the bank of the river.

"You know what. You are just weird."

"I am." I flipped over the half decade body and checked the bones. On the back of the skull was a sigil. "Oof, that's ruff. Skulls take the longest to decompose, but all I must do is this. I burned a line and spit the skull. A wave of magic busted through, steering dust up.

I coughed, waving a hand in front of my face. "I have to say I think that worked, Khotan." I blew the dust from me in a gust of wind. He was gone. I frowned. Did I do something wrong? Maybe it does not work like that. As soon as you are released you cross over.

I looked down at the broken skull, and the rest of the remains. I should bury him; it was the only respectable thing to do. I summoned a blanket and lifted him into it, wrapping him up neatly. I teleported myself and the remains to a graveyard nearby. I took the gold chain necklace off, charmed it clean, and put it on.

The little pendant pentagram star dangling under my collar bone. I removed the dirt and placed him six feet down. Covering his body, a cried a little. I knew he was already dead, but I was going to miss him. I summoned an engraved gravestone. 'In memory of Khotan. Love is love.'

"How sweet, I like it." I jumped. "Wow, you act like you just seen a ghost."

I turned. "Khotan, man where did you go?"

"Oh, that energy blast sent me far. The other side is a garden, oh, and I have already found your answers. I was granted to speak with origin demons over five millennium old. One was a demon king in his day.

Get this, he had a similar power to yours. Control over demons. It was an absolute dictatorship. The people realized the freedom that came with human blood mixes. They had free will, and no longer had to listen to the one absolute ruler." I frowned, looking off at the sunrise.

"You seem disappointed."

"I am not, the crown I wear keeps coming around to this. What if I am to become the king or queen and supposed to bring back the origins. What if I do a horrible job and ruin everything? I was rising and ruling over my business, but this is different. And controlling? It sounds awful."

"As long as you are not a tyrant, I think you would be a suitable replacement. You are kind beyond your years."

I tilted my head and pressed my lips. "I am not so kind."

"Let me rephrase that. Wise beyond your years. You are kind when it is earned, and evil when warranted."

I smirk laughed. "Better."

"Um, this is unrelated to what you wanted, but I decided to stay here." I tilted my head. "With you, I did not see him there. Which means he is not dead, not a single Naberius clan member is dead."

"Guard the master's castle. They all must be together guarding the master's castle, but who is that? It could be a few potentials from Derkila to Cerberus, or even over in the fog in Orlantus. Those are the only places I can think of."

He shrugged. "We will know together, eventually. I have nothing but time anymore, and I am rather free now."

"Uh, Khotan. How will I hide you; some can still see you moving about."

"This." He reached out, touched the necklace and disappeared. 'Now I can speak in your mind.'

"Well, you are full of surprises."

'You, my dear, are too. As well as sentimental for keeping this.'

It was a warm feeling to know if I was alone, that I was not truly alone. He might be here for one thing, but it was not bad company. It felt like a fair trade to me. I might deploy him to Baal's castle to have him look for answers.

The dead cannot die twice, so long as he has claimed this to possess, he would always return to me or rather the necklace. I held it in my hand, I hope Narnia is not too displeased with another man hanging around me. I mean, he is a ghost.

'Let us go to the world library.'

"Why?"

'There might be more on you and origins. I only told you little of your power and the tainting event.' He was right, but he world library was massive, how would be find anything in there?
