After The Storm

Chapter 9

As time went on kids at school found other things to focus on. Besides our pregnancy which was a relief to both me and Haley.

Ready or not life and major changes were coming at us fast. 17 weeks into pregnancy.

Instead of trying to shield or bellies people attempted to grab onto them before even talking to us.

(So how does it feel. You moved out of Rachel's and back into the house you grew up in?) Mouth asked.

(Weird but comforting. My baby needs a real home. Plus living with Rachel was supposed to be temporary. Especially in the wake of the pregnancy.)

(You can admit that the two of you enjoy the privacy.) Brooke replied.

(Rachel won't admit but she liked having you close by.)

(She doesn't have friends and considers you very important.)

(We both do.) Mouth stated matter of fact.

The expression on her face softened.

(I do too. The friendship I have with the both of you is very important.) Brooke replied.

(You're going to be a wonderful mom.) Mouth said.

...

Days Later

When Lucas got to the OBGYN office. Brooke had already left.

He let out a frustrated sigh. Before he could attempt reaching out to Brooke. He found a text from her waiting for him.

I'm not going to ask where you were. I just ask going forward for you not to come to appointments. I can do that.

We're having a girl.
