After The Storm

Chapter 10

author's note tears were shed. My Brooke.😭

The moment went it all changed

As weeks turned to months. Brooke and Haley' pregnancy progressed.

But still this was a night the seniors had looked forward to and dreamed about.

Brooke had picked out a dress she felt beautiful in. And got her make up done at the mall. And yet when she walked in there. Watching as the couples danced and looked at each other lovingly.

She wondered if she should of just stayed home.

Especially when she saw Lucas and Peyton dancing and kissing.

She knew confronting Lucas would ruin the night for everyone else. Cause a scene and she didn't want to do that.

When they spotted her she put a smile on her face. And danced in her lavender dress.

Again as her and Haley found each other. Touching bellies. She danced with Mouth and Skills.

And yet her eyes lingered on Lucas.

She stayed until nearly the end. Her friends insisted she come to the after party and she agreed.

But of course they ended up at the hotel first.

Brooke booked her own room.

Her heart jumping into her throat when she saw Lucas 's suit jacket in front of the door.

It was right next door to her suite. She had kept her composure. All night.

But she couldn't ignore the nagging feeling any longer.

She bursts into the hotel room. Her eyes wide and her anger unleashing.

The clothes scattered on the floor. The messy bed. Their intertwined body.

They hadn't even noticed the door was open.

Brooke closed it. Slamming it shut.

As only then did she hear his voice calling out to her.

She ignored him and went back to her suite. The door locked behind her.

(Brooke open the door talk to me!)

(I can explain! I'm sorry you had to see that!) Lucas explained.

He banged on the door until his knuckles were tired. Then he left.

Brooke felt the tears stream down her face as she clutched her belly.

Eating food and drinking from the mini fridge.

His heart was hers he claimed.

He was in love with her. He cared about Peyton as a friend.

Yet even with the door closed.

She heard Peyton's cries for him.

And she drowned it out with music. Gazing at her ultrasound picture she brought along.
