Chapter 4: Percy Versus Orion

When Percy looked up at them their hearts broke for him. His face a mess of scars. But his right eye swirled gold. Robotic and large. His left eye however maybe be still Sea-Green but with a ring of orange around it and flecks of brown. But that eye was glassy and had what looked like white film over it.

His right ear was noticeable robotic and the other ear had a piece out of it and a fang earring hang from that one.

They could just see the scars on his neck as well and they wondered just how many scars were hidden all over his body.

Percy's hair still had that distinctive grey streak in it. But there were more grey spots in his hair. Showing his age.

But the age Percy appeared to be was around 30 to 40. When he was actually 119. Artemis didn't even know how Percy could still be alive after everything and he hadn't been given immortality. So how can Percy be here?

But Artemis and Thalia couldn't have been happier that Percy was indeed alive. But they didn't know how that was possible. But then again Percy had always been the one to do the impossible.

"Percy?" Thalia asks weakly.

"Hello Old Friend", Percy says to her with a bow of his head.

"This is quite touching but we have business to settle Jackson", Orion tells him.

"I do believe we do. I think it is time to settle this don't you?" Percy rasps out.

"No!"

Percy could hear all the gasping and whispers behind him. He knew he had shocked them all with his appearance.

And when he looked up into the eyes of Artemis and Thalia he saw shock, confusion, sadness and happiness. There was no disgust there. Their was some pity. As anyone would have who looked at him. Those that had gotten a glimpse of his face before had been disgusted by it. But these two haven't been.

He hears Thalia say his name.

"Hello Old Friend", he says bowing his head in respect to her.

He was well aware of Orion having been watching them in amusement. He was taking great pleasure at having revealed Percy's identity to everyone.

"This is quite touching but we have business to settle Jackson", Orion tells him.

"I do believe we do. I think it is time to settle this don't you?" Percy rasps out straightening up and his sabre ready.

His mind nearly switching his robotic hands weapon.

"No!" a voice calls.

All eyes turn to Artemis.

"No?" Percy asks her.

"This is NOT your fight", Artemis tells him.

"Trust me Lady Artemis THIS fight IS mine to take. Orion and I have history besides what he has done to others in the past and now I MUST face him", Percy tells her honestly.

He wasn't going to tell her he and Orion had a few encounters in Tartarus.

'Mystique keep them back!' Percy thinks to his daemon.

'As you will', Mystique says back drawing back to guard her human in a circular motion.

"Come on then you pathetic excuse for a hero", Orion says drawing his sword.

"Whatever happens here. NOBODY interferes! This is MY fight. Bob, wolves keep them away. I don't need to be distracted in this fight", Percy orders.

Percy already was stalking towards Orion. And they begin circling each other. Watching each other's every move.

Suddenly as fast as lightning they move and Percy's arm turned into a sword and his sabre in his hand clash with Orion. Sparks flew from their joined weapons at the force they had used.

As they danced around each other everyone was watching the fight. The Hunters didn't know what to think of Percy. Saw their Lieutenant liked him and their Mistress seemed fond of him. But he was a male. They didn't know how to feel about that.

Thalia and Artemis watched the fight nervously. Swords and Percy's sabre clashed again and again. Sparks flying at the power behind the moves. And Artemis wondered how it was impossible Percy could withstand such force.

They saw Percy weave in and out of shadows and disappear into them and reappear not far away and it seemed to be grating on Orion's nerves at Percy's display.

A slash to Percy's neck was barely dodged by Percy as his falcon had cried out flying above the battle at the last second. Their blades crossed and clashed against each other time and time again. As Percy seemed to only missed being hit by seconds.

They saw Orion slash at his side. Artemis and Thalia were sure with that strike Percy would be gravely injured.

They move to help but Bob keeps them back and so does Mystique with a growl.
"Watch", Bob tells them, "He won't be injured in that strike"

Sure, enough Percy just rolled his eyes and kept moving and there was no blood coming out of that cut and it didn't look like Percy was in pain.

"You should know by now that side will never do anyone any favours. As it can't be hurt", Percy rasps, "It is not like that can ever be changed I am kind of attached to it", he says sarcastically and blasts Orion back with a blast of wind.

Orion summoned water and it flew at Percy.

Percy's eyes glowed and the water stopped a few feet in front of Percy's face. Everyone could see Orion was trying to overcome Percy's control.

Who had the better control over their Fathers element?

The older Orion.

Or the younger Percy.

Many would believe Orion would have more experience and control over the water. But people forgot or didn't know that Percy had been doing great feats with his powers since he was 12. And had even managed to control the water in one's body.

When Percy banished the water back at Orion with just a flick of his wrist it shocked people. But then the water was turned into sharp ice daggers and was mixed with fire and lightning. It made a huge explosion. That was followed by a roar of pain.

Percy shifted into the shadows as the explosion from his powers settled and a burned and charred Orion with an ice spear going through his leg was looking around wildly and with great rage in his face for Percy.

Orion snaps the ice spear out of his leg.

"Come out Jackson! Don't use your petty tricks in this fight. It just shows how much of a coward you are!" Orion mocks.

"Coward Orion. I believe you have been mistaken me for you", a voice comes from the shadows.

But they couldn't tell which shadow.

"Then what do you call this?" Orion growls out.

"I am the Shadow of the Storm, Orion. But I am also a Phantom. I belong between worlds and I believe I always will be. You can't win brother as long as shadows exist and I have something to live for", Percy's voice says from the shadows.

Orion growls trying to spot him.

"Fire is my friend"

Orion scoffs at that.

"Lightning crackles through my fingertips"

Orion growls.

"Air is at my call"

Orion snarls.

"Earth rumbles under my feet"

Orion sneers.

"Ice runs through my veins"

Orion looks around wildly.

"Water is in my blood"

"Come out here", Orion growls.

"Shadows are my very being"

And at that Percy strikes out with his sabre. It flying through the air from a shadow in embedding itself in Orion's shoulder. The sabre pulsing with electricity and fire.

Orion roared in pain.

Before Orion could pull it out it dissolves into nothing.

"You are NOTHING Jackson! You have NOTHING", Orion roars his arm dripping in ichor.

"That maybe. But I could never stand for innocents to be harmed. And I will protect those innocents, no matter the cost it places on me", Percy states stepping out of the shadows with now two scimitars in his hands.

Percy dodges the next few strikes but as he does, he didn't seem to see a rock in the ground. His flesh leg trips on it and Orion lands a hit in.

Artemis and Thalia gasp but Percy does nothing but continue the fight. Not worried about the wound in his flesh. He didn't seem to be feeling the pain.

"I WILL be taking Artemis as mine in the new world order my Masters plan to make and I am going to enjoy making her scream", Orion tells him, "Then I'll take EVERY Hunter. One. By. One! In EVERY way imaginable".

Artemis flinches at that and her Hunters look scared.

"Over my dead body", Percy snarls.

"That CAN be arranged", Orion retorts.

Something seemed to snap in Percy. And when Bob sees that he curses. As it showed him Percy's insanity was taking control.

Anything could happen now.

Suddenly the fight got a lot more violent and Percy seemed to fight like he was posed by a demon. And Orion now was sweating and looking fearful.

He starts to convulse and Percy's robotic eye had turned red and his glassy left eye seemed to have turned that as well.

Like molten lava.

Orion felt like he was being burned alive and thick black chains wrap themselves around the suffering Giant.

"Ichor is like water Orion. You should remember what I can really do before you start making threats", Percy tells him darkly.

Everyone's eyes widen as they realised what exactly what Percy was now doing to Orion.

"My life has always been about serving and protecting Olympus and that hasn't changed in my self-appointed exile. And you should tell that to your Masters when you meet in Hell", Percy tells him as his scimitars disappear and a battle axe appears in his hand.

He approaches the now fearful Orion.

"In fact, tell them Perseus Jackson stands with Olympus even if they don't want him as he is now", Percy tells him.

Then Percy swings the axe and Orion's head falls down to the ground with his body. It explodes into dust. Shocking everyone. A Demigod shouldn't be able to defeat a Giant on their own. But Percy had just proven them wrong.

Artemis and Thalia go to move forward but Percy growls at them as he begins to pace his robotic eye was seemingly scanning the area.

The shape changing creature growls warningly at them blocking their path to Percy.

"Stay back. Percy isn't Percy at the moment", Bob tells them quietly.

"What does that mean?" Artemis asks him.

"Just let him check to see ALL the monsters are gone and he should come back to himself", Bob explains.

He didn't want to tell them that one of the problems with Percy's brain was the fact in the heat of major battles Percy's mind shifted showing its instability.

Bob hoped that they wouldn't NEVER see what Percy's insanity could really cause…
