Naruto: Champion of Justice
Chapter 1: A hero in the making
Naruto, still a fresh Genin, was fighting his friend in a battle so fierce that no Genin before had even thought of competing. It was a fight between kids, both of whom looked like they were possessed by demons — Naruto, with teeth as sharp as a fox and red crimson eyes, glared fiercely at his opponent. Sasuke looked even more terrifying, with dark gray skin, long bluish-gray hair, and wings, or more accurately, hands, sticking out of his back. It was truly a sight to behold.
"I have to finish it now," Sasuke said, more to himself than Naruto, as his own red crimson eyes with the three tomoe Sharingan, surrounded by complete black, looked at Naruto in determination. "Quite poetic, isn't it? We're at the final valley, in which the First Hokage and a legendary Uchiha fought until one died," Sasuke pondered aloud, once again, more to himself.
A huge waterfall was dripping down, with statues of the God of Shinobi and Madara Uchiha standing in front of each other. A long second passed as both boys looked at the stone statues in front — Naruto at Madara, and Sasuke at Hashirama.
A lightning technique, Chidori, was formed in Sasuke's left hand as he got ready for the final clash, while Naruto, boosted by his Kyubi's limitless chakra, managed to muster a bigger Rasengan than he had ever done in his right hand. Soon after, both launched at each other in the final attack, which would determine the final outcome of this attritious fight.
"Chidori!" Sasuke screamed, putting his all into his strongest attack.
"Rasengan!" Naruto roared, putting his all and even more into it.
The collided damage made waves unseen in the river, and for a few seconds, it seemed that they were equals. However, Sasuke's left hand slipped through and penetrated Naruto's chest, while Naruto, at a loss, decided that at the very least, he would prove his worth by slicing Sasuke's headband with his long, Kyubi-stretched nails.
A fight that seemed to be a repeat of history ended in a far different way. In the first clash here, an Uchiha seemingly lost his life, and the Hokage won. This time, the Hokage-wannabe lay on the ground, with a wound that clearly couldn't be healed by any magic on this planet.
The last thing Naruto saw was Sasuke brimming with pain and falling down, looking at the blond boy's face with a look he couldn't quite decipher. Then, it all went black.
XxX
"Move out of the way!" a tall bald man told as he pushed himself through the crowd of people.
"What are you doing, kid?" a different man, this time with a ridiculously curly mustache told as he moved Naruto out of the way.
"… Huh?" the blond went as he now stood among a huge crowd, all wearing clothes he had never seen before. It took him a while to see where he had gotten himself. He wasn't there. He wasn't dead. Upon touching his chest, he even noticed the wound not being there where it was supposed to be.
Another long minute passed, with many shouts, which Naruto couldn't care less about, which was usually due to his character, though this time it was different. He was completely at a loss for words, and even thoughts.
"Are you okay?" A person, who sounded very young to Naruto, said and placed a hand on the newly reincarnated boy's shoulder.
The touch seemingly reinvoked consciousness into Naruto as he perked up just a bit at that and turned his head to the direction of the touch. It was a boy, looked about the same age as Naruto. He had spiky, wild dark-green hair. It went in all sorts of directions, which made it cast a shadow and appear almost entirely black in some spots. However, what took Naruto's attention was what Naruto didn't know a word to describe as he had never seen anyone have orange dots on their face, but here it was known as freckles. Then, after the further odd face structure and large circle-like eyes, Naruto looked at the odd clothes — some sort of gray uniform, which looked far cleaner and smoother than what Naruto had ever witnessed.
"W-w-w," Naruto couldn't say it and closed his eyes for a second, soon after trying, and succeeding in his first sentence told in this world, "Where… am I?"
The boy looked slightly taken aback by the question, yet he didn't hesitate in answering, and at the same time asking, "Musutafu?"
The words didn't click in the blond's mind, as his mind was still mostly turned off, and only a couple of seconds later he reacted by raising an eyebrow. "W-what village is that?" he asked.
The two boys unconsciously started moving, as the civilians looked at them with grimaces. It was a busy day, on Friday at 5:00 am as most of the jobs finished.
"It's… a city?" the freckled boy once again half-asked half-told the same-age-looking boy with the orange jumpsuit.
The word 'city' was not really a term Naruto could understand, but one thing was clear — he was far from home. Just to check, he pinched his left arm with his fingers as hard as he could and could quite clearly feel pain. 'Definitely alive,' he thought to himself.
"Are you okay?" the teenager boy once again asked, this time putting his hand on Naruto's forehead. "I can call an ambulance if you need—" before he could finish, Naruto brushed his hands away and looked right into the boy's eyes with an expression of both fear and anger visible.
"Who. Are. You?" Naruto asked in a tone that he tried to make himself clearer, yet it turned out scary for the boy who now took a step back.
"I-my name is Midoriya," he answered as quickly as he could, yet the grimace didn't leave the blond's face. In fact, it deepened as the boy looked around. The houses were made from something far more stable and durable than what Naruto was used to in Konoha. Beside the sidewalk, weird metal things he couldn't quite understand or describe moved with wheels at a jarring speed. Even the weather was colder than what he was used to. Everything just further exacerbated Naruto's confusion as he wasn't quite sure what the next course of action should be. The same could be said for the dark green-haired boy, who was not sure whether to run or call an ambulance.
The long silence was killing Midoriya, and to his luck, while unfortunate for every civilian in this city, a loud explosion occurred a few blocks away from the two boys. Thereafter, every person glanced at where the smoke came — it was quickly accompanied by a loud siren and a multitude of screams, most of which sounded straight out of horror stories for most.
"W-we should go," Midoriya suggested as a few heroes passed, shouting and telling every civilian to get out of sight. Naruto, however, wasn't too keen on moving. Despite not knowing anyone, or even where he truly had gotten himself, Naruto wasn't happy about someone slaughtering civilians and started moving at a rapidly increasing speed, making the air move and pushing Midoriya just a bit, to his surprise.
The mile of distance was quickly made, and Naruto saw what caused all this commotion: a tall man, who seemed to have lost his hair at least a few decades ago, was now in the midst of powering up his attack against the heroes. An electric blue flow, which flickered in every direction, formed around the old man's hand, reminiscent of Chidori. With it, he launched himself at a hero who had the head of a rat, and just barely managed to hit, and slice through the rat-man's left side of his hip. A loud shriek was emitted from the rat, and he fell to the floor, blood coming out and pouring all around him.
The other hero, a man with swords instead of hands, took a step back and began running, leaving all the civilians in shock and sheer panic as no one was left to defend against the maniac.
"Enough is enough," he declared and began motioning to the shop where he had previously deployed and exploded the bomb. "I've spent years in prison just to come back and be denied everything. How did you expect me to survive when I can't even get a job!" he fumed with irritation and formed a giant electric ball with his two hands near his chest, grinning as he launched the ball at a pair of children who were lying on the ground, crying.
"Rasengan!" Naruto shouted as his two clones were placed where he originally made the jutsu. It clashed in a very similar manner to how it had against Sasuke's Chidori and ended up exploding in sound and impact. The sound deafened everyone in the area besides Naruto, who was more than used to such clashes.
He now looked at the man with burning eyes in anger, practically igniting the wide area. Naruto really had a soft spot for kids, or more accurately, for protecting kids for reasons unbeknownst to him. "What do you think you're doing?" Naruto yelled loud enough for the man to hear.
"Oh, so when it's children it's all that important to help them. But when it's me, nobody seems to care!" he shouted in anger and launched himself at Naruto, forming an electric blade stretching from his hands and reaching about half his height in length.
The man was quite clearly untrained, and the fact that the two new heroes in training got to him was some pure luck for the man. Anyone half competent would've quickly dealt with him. Even when he was running toward Naruto, it seemed that he was about out of breath before even reaching the Shinobi.
Naruto pulled a kunai, seemingly out of nowhere for the slow running man, and launched it towards him, hitting his right leg and making him instantly collapse to the ground.
"What's the jutsu you're using?" Naruto asked as he came and squatted down, now looking rather indifferent at the pathetic man, who started crying out of sheer pain.
"What do you care!" He snarled, and with his sword in his right hand, tried to hook Naruto's face, but all Naruto did was move his neck an inch, causing the man to miss. Naruto countered with a weak, yet too strong for the man, punch to his face. Despite the rather powerful quirk, in the hands of an absolute amateur, it was quite useless.
"T-thank you, mister," a little girl said, and bowed so low that she almost reached the ground. Naruto had no idea what his reaction should be. Even when he saved someone, nobody seemed genuinely appreciative of his help. Then, loud cheers from both the young and the old started. Naruto had never received this kind of praise before, so he responded with an anxious scratching of his head and waving his hands as if to convey that no thanks were necessary. "This was no trouble," he answered to stop the praise, or more accurately, to stop the weird feeling in his gut that he didn't understand.
Unbeknownst to Naruto, this "No trouble" action would be a big step towards becoming a hero, as one of the top heroes was now gaping at him and fixing his glasses every now and then out of sheer surprise.
"So, there is someone else who possesses more than one quirk," he muttered so lowly that nobody, even if they were right next to him, could hear. 'Some sort of clone quirk and energy blast,' he thought to himself as he came forward to the boy who was grinning at the crowd. Even as medics came, the cheers didn't end.
"I'm sorry, I have things to do," Naruto said, motioning and almost comically walking out of the group that now surrounded him. However, he was quickly stopped by a tall man with a full white suit and a red tie. His dark green hair was very smooth, clearly well taken care of, and it was combed to the left. Naruto couldn't see well into his eyes, as his upside-down triangular-shaped glasses were blocking the hue of his eyes.
A serious and intimidating glare was placed upon Naruto, but he didn't take a step back nor break eye contact. "I'm Sir Nighteye, and you're coming with me. Now," the tall man demanded.
Hesitant, but feeling that the man knew what was going on, or at the very least, was important here, Naruto agreed. Trusting someone who was completely unfamiliar to him sounded dumb, but when it seems that nothing is familiar to him anymore, what more can he do?
Initially, I had a rough draft with 500~ words that had a similar premise, but with Jiraya and Naruto entering some sort of portal and going into BNHA-verse. It was a bit stupid, so I deleted it and wrote the usual death-bringing the x character to y world instead. Timeline wise, this happens a few hours before Midoriya meets All Might.
