The Lakes of Trixomea

"So where are we going today?" Rose asks the Doctor.

"Woman Wept," he tells her "It's a frozen planet, how cool is that?"

"Better dress warm then," Rose says grinning at the Doctors excitement.

"Yeah," he says and grins. Rose makes her way to the wardrobe room and gets changed into a warm outfit while the Doctor inputs the coordinates.

"Will this do?" Rose asks when she gets back to the console room, doing a quick spin to show of her ski jacket.

"Perfectly, now we've just landed so come on," The Doctor pulls her out of the TARDIS.

"This doesn't look like an entirely frozen planet," Rose says staring at a desert.

"That's because we're not on Woman Wept," The Doctor says mater of factly.

"Really, you don't say," Rose says her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"We're on Trixomea," The Doctor tells her.

"Maybe one day you'll actually land us where you mean to," Rose says grinning, her tongue just poking out.

"Oi!" The Doctor says with mock indignation "Have you ever tried piloting a transdimensional space-and-timeship?"

"No, but I've not had nearly a millennium of practice," Rose counters, and they have a staring contest before erupting in laughter simultaneously.

"Come on, Trixomea is a beautiful planet you'll love it," The Doctor says before tugging Rose's arm and running with her across the desert.

They spend an hour exploring and by that time Rose is starting to struggle, she's dressed for a frozen planet and instead they're on a desert. When they arrived it was only (only!) 30c but in the hour they're been there the temperature has climbed up to a mind melting 45c. They had only run for a few minutes before the heat crept up in them. Rose had striped of layer after layer (each layer ending up in the Doctor's pockets) till she was just in her vest and her leggings (which she had been wearing under her ski trousers for warmth) it was hot enough that the Doctor had taken of his leather jacket! Rose was just wondering if the Doctor would mind if she took her vest of and walked around in her bra when they saw the pink oasis.

"Oh god finally," Rose says, sighing in relief "I'm going in for a dip,"

"No, you're not," the Doctor says.

"Why not?" Rose asks, her hands on her hips, the temperature making her irritable.

"You don't want to touch the water," he tells her, leading her away from the oasis. While he leads her away he trips over mid air, slides along the blue sand, and falls into the Oasis.

"So much for not touching the water," Rose says to herself, rolling her eyes but when a minute passes and he doesn't resurface Rose starts to worry. When she's about to jump into the Oasis after him a green jumper floats to the surface. The jumper starts to move towards the shore, and crawls out of the Oasis. That is when Rose realises that it's not a jumper, it is, in fact, a very young boy. A very young boy wearing a green jumper far too big for him and black jeans that are falling down. The boy has close cropped hair and large ears and nose.

"Oh this is just great," Rose says sarcastically.

I had intended to have written this entire story by 9/9 but I didn't get time. The rest will be posted as I finish it. Happy Nine day.
