It is a warm summer evening in the forest of Wayouttatown and all the children both humans and the woodland critters, are off from school and are engaging in summer fun time activities with their family and friends. And for Lily and Petunia's case is no exception.
Norbert and Treeflower, along with Daggett, decided to take Lily and Petunia bowling for the first time at Camelot Lanes. When Norbert and Daggett were last there 15 years ago, the place kinda got destroyed and shortly after their visit, the whole bowling establishment was closed indefinitely. The bowling alley was closed for 5 years till the company knew what to do with it. People demanded for Camelot Lanes to be brought back due to nostalgia and they listened.
Camelot Lanes opened back up in 2003 while Norbert and Daggett were still in the void and the place got a MAJOR upgrade. The place has updated their arcade that Norbert loved so much and has a lot more arcade games and lots more prizes. The bowling area now has colored lights that go off at night to make the experience more fun and there's a lot more food for people to enjoy with a family restaurant.
Norbert and Daggett were excited to see what they have done with the place after all these years and Treeflower and the girls are excited to go bowling for the first time but Norbert felt confident and calm about going back there for a nice leisure time with his family. He still sucked at bowling but at least he still had fun while doing so.
The beaver family, including Daggett, made it to the new and improved Camelot Lanes. The outside of the place remained the same but with some new elements like colored lights around the castle building and on the name of the place itself. Norbert parked his car in the parking lot as they all got out of the car. Norbert held on to Lily's hand while Treeflower held Petunia's hand and Daggett was carrying lots of money on him as they walked inside.
"Oh I can't wait to go bowling for the first time Daddy!" Lily said excitedly.
Norbert chucked, "I'm sure you can't Lily" Norbert responded as he ruffled his daughter's hair playfully.
"I bet bowling in real life is a lot more fun than playing with our bowling toys back at home" Petunia added.
"I'm sure it is Petunia" Norbert replied.
"Oh Norby, this is gonna be so much fun! I never went bowling before due to all the jobs I had all these years" Treeflower said in her sweet gentle raspy voice.
"I can't wait to see what the arcade is like now!" Daggett beamed as he gathers all of his money together.
Lily and Petunia gasped in excitement as they heard the word "Arcade" escape their uncle's mouth,"AN ARCADE?!"
"Yeah, the arcade is so fun. Especially for children your age" Daggett replied. "Your father was an arcade addict."
Norbert looked at his brother a bit embarrassed after Daggett made him lose his favorite arcade game growing up.
The family soon made it inside the building and they all gasped and what they were seeing before them. Everything in the place looks clean, improved, and looks a lot bigger when Norbert and Daggett were last there. All the moms and dads including their children were all having a good time bowling and even teenagers were getting enjoyment from bowling too.
"Wow,look at this place!" exclaimed Norbert with awe.
"The place looks a lot better than it was before!" Daggett added with his excitement.
Treeflower Lily and Petunia were also amazed at what they were seeing. Just then, something caught Lily and Petunia's eyes. It was the brand new renovated arcade, teeming with life. Their eyes lit up with excitement as they walked a bit closer to the arcade area.
"Mommy,Daddy, uncle Daggy, come look!" The girls shouted excitedly in unison, pointing to the brand new shiny arcade area.
Norbert,Treeflower, and Daggett saw the girls were pointing to the arcade and walked over to them. As they soon made it over there,Norbert and Daggett gasped at what they were seeing before them. The arcade room has more and more games than the original ever had. They all came with different varieties like claw machines,a Dance,Dance, Revolution kind of game, games that you can physically touch,a basketball game,a skeeball game, air hockey games, some old arcade games that Norbert and Daggett used to play years ago like "Alien Alley" and a Photo Booth.
"Mommy,Daddy! Can we go into the arcade?! Pretty please!" The girls asked excitedly.
"Oh alright, you girls go have fun." he responds, smiling softly at his overly excited daughters.
"YAY!" The girls exclaimed excitedly as the two ran to the arcade room. "Thanks Dad!"
"Dag,I'm putting you in charge of the girls while Treeflower and I set everything up" advised Norbert. "Could you do that for me?".
"Oh of course Norb." Daggett answered. "You sure you don't want to play Alien Alley with me, Norb? There's a sequel now."
Daggett pointed to the "Alien Alley II machine" ahead as Norbert shook his head, "Eeeeh,no thanks Dag. I'll pass. Maybe another time."
"Ehhh, suit yourself" Daggett shrugged his arms.
Lily and Petunia ran back to get their uncle to join them on their arcade adventure.
"Come on uncle Daggy,Let's go have fun!" the girls said in unison while giggling as they dragged their uncle by his hands.
"See ya Norb!" Daggett shouted as he was being pulled away by his excited nieces.
Norbert and Treeflower couldn't help but chuckle at this before they headed to the front desk to get everyone's shoes, besides Norbert of course. Norbert also asked for bumpers for his daughters since they are still young and asked for sodas for all of them. The front desk told them to go to lane 20 as the two sat down and waited while Treeflower grabbed her bowling ball and set it aside.
"Oh Norby, this was such a good idea for us to come here for a family night out."
"Yeah well, since the girls did so well in school,I had to treat them with something fun to start their summ-ah right."
Just then, the waiter walks by their lane with their cola beverage in a pitcher,"Here's your drink king and queen."
"Why thank you kind sir." Treeflower thanked him as the waiter walked off.
"Ahhhhh,it's so good to kick back and re-laxya with my family for a change" Norbert sighed contently with his arms behind his back.
Treeflower had a sudden realization, she noticed that Norbert didn't get a bowling ball or bowling shoes.
"Um Norby? How come you didn't ask for bowling shoes or grabbed a bowling ball? Is there something you're not telling me?" Treeflower asked in a concerned tone of voice.
Before Norbert could speak, two guys entered the bowling alley, making a grand entrance. The two guys were none other than Otis and Ditto, the Otto brothers. The two were wearing sunshades, trying to make themselves look cool. They also seemed to have lost quite a bit of weight since they were last here.
The two brothers saw Norbert in his lane as they walked over to his lane. Otis tapped on Norbert's shoulder as Norbert turned around to see who it was. As Norbert turned around,he gasped at what he was seeing. He saw the Otto brothers, who were looking very mad as they cracked their knuckles.
"T-the Otto brothers?! What are you guys doing here?!"
Otis sneered at Norbert. "Well, well, if it isn't Norbert the bowling jester. What's the matter, Norby? Afraid you'll embarrass yourself in front of your pretty lady?"
Treeflower glared at the duo, her fur bristling slightly. "I don't know who you guys are but you two better not start any trouble here. We're just trying to have a peaceful evening."
Norbert, though annoyed by the intrusion, remained composed. "Otis, Ditto, we're not looking for any trouble. Just let us enjoy our evening."
Otis taunted Norbert mercilessly, "Come on, Norbie, you used to be good at this. What happened?"
Ditto added with a smirk, "Yeah, we thought you'd be better. Maybe it's old age catching up to you."
Norbert clenched his jaw, feeling the pressure mount. Just when the tension reached its peak, the entrance to the bowling alley swung open, and Daggett, Lily, and Petunia burst in, carrying armfuls of arcade prizes and excitement while Daggett was carrying Petunia on his back with Petunia holding a giant stuffed bear and Lily carrying lots of stuffed animals,a small bouncy ball, and a ping pong.
"That was so much fun, uncle Daggy!" Lily said excitedly.
"Yeah, let's do this again!" Petunia added while holding her giant stuffed bear close to her.
"Yeah,we could go again after the game is ov-" Daggett's words were cut off when he noticed Norbert arguing with two familiar faces.
Daggett, ever the troublemaker, shouted, "Hey hey hey, what in the spoot is going on here?"
Lily and Petunia exchanged curious glances, and Petunia chimed in, "Mommy, what's going on?"
Treeflower quickly explained the situation, her frustration evident. "Daddy is in a bowling match with Otis and Ditto. It's not going too well."
Daggett, Lily, and Petunia exchanged determined glances, then turned toward the Otto brothers. Daggett cracked his knuckles, ready for action. "Alright, you two. Fun time's over. It's family time now. Leave my bro and his family alone."
Lily added, her voice stern, "Yeah, leave my dad alone and take your bowling match elsewhere."
Otis grinned wickedly. "Oh, we're not here to cause trouble, little lady. We're here to beat your father in a friendly game of bowling."
Ditto nodded in agreement, silently handing Norbert a bowling ball. "Yeah, we thought we'd give you a chance to prove you're not all washed up."
"But I thought you two quit bowling." Norbert remarked
"Well we decided to get back in the game and try again. And now, we're ready to take you on again, pointy weasel."
Norbert sighed but accepted the challenge. "Alright, fine. A friendly game. But remember, this is a family night. If we win, we can continue coming to this bowling alley."
"Sounds good. And if we win, none of you will ever show your faces here again."
Norbert gulps nervously.
The Otto Brothers left smirking while Norbert sat back down upset, his confidence having been shattered by the two. He hid his face with his hands in embarrassment.
"Norby? What's going on?"
"Treeflower, there's something I haven't told you before. I…I can't bowl…"
"You can't bowl? But didn't you tell me you had fun the last time with Daggett?"
"Yeah, but that was so long ago. I'm a bit rusty and washed up…"
"Ah don't worry, bro. You'll get the hang of it again and then we'll totally rub it in those spooty Otto bro's faces."
"I hope you're right, Dag…." Norbert sighed as he put his head down on the table.
Lily and Petunia couldn't stand seeing their dad's confidence shaken by the Otto brothers. Determined to help him regain his stride, they whispered their plan to each other. The sisters exchanged determined glances before presenting their unconventional idea.
"Daddy?" Petunia began, "We've got a fun way to get you back into the bowling game."
Lily chimed in with a mischievous grin, "Yeah, something whimsical and imaginative."
"Like what?" Norbert asks.
"We'll show you." The girls told their father in unison.
Moments later, their father's practice begins. Lily & Petunia help out their father by having him practice. Lily and Petunia stand near the lane with their father, Norbert, preparing to bowl. They've decorated the lane with colorful drawings, balloons, and imaginative cardboard obstacles.
"Daddy, look at what we've done to our bowling lane! It's like a carnival here!" Lily smiles while giggling.
"You girls sure do know how to liven up the place. Let's see if these decorations bring us some luck."
As they get ready to roll their balls, they notice the Otto brothers, Otis and Ditto, on the lane next to them.
"What's all this fancy stuff? Can't handle a good ol' game of bowling without the frills?" Otis grins while laughing maniacally.
"Yeah, it's all about the skill, not the decorations!" Ditto teases.
Lily and Petunia exchange determined glances at them as they roll their balls toward the cardboard castle. The decorations shimmer with excitement as they score a strike.
" Looks like our lane is the place to be, guys!" Petunia grins.
Norbert, Lily, and Petunia stand in the bowling alley, getting ready for their next turn. They decide to break into a dance routine before each roll, turning heads in the alley.
"Come on, Dad, let's show them our moves!" Lily tells her father while dancing and giggling.
"The groove is on, the rhythm improves bowling skills!" Petunia adds in.
They finish their dance with flair, as Norbert does the exact same dance moves as his daughters and rolls his ball, knocking down some pins in the process.
"The dance sure adds some pizzazz to our game! This is fun!" Norbert grins while dancing with his daughters.
"You're doing great, Norby!" Treeflower cheers her husband.
"Great job, bro! You're really getting the hang of it!" Daggett cheers as well.
Otis and Ditto look at them dancing with disgust. Dancing in the bowling alley? How pathetic.
Norbert, Lily, and Petunia decide to spice up the game by attempting obstacle challenges like rolling the ball with one foot while hopping.
"Watch this Dad!" Lily advised as she and Petunia hopped on one foot as they rolled their balls as they knocked down some pins
"Let's see if you can strike that Dad!" Petunia advised as well.
"Challenge accepted."
Norbert rolls the ball while standing on one foot. He knocks down a few pins.
"Yes!"
The Ottos scoffed at this. They know that their decades of practice will certainly make them win this time.
Just before the tournament began,Norbert was all ready to bowl with his bowling outfit on.
The Beaver family huddles over each other to discuss their plan.
"Okay fam, so here's the plan. As long as I keep hitting the pins and win at least one strike, then we should be good to go." Norbert tells everyone.
"Yeah, and then we'll stick it to those spooty Otto dummies." Daggett says.
"Agreed." The entire family says in unison, lifting their hands high.
The tournament has begun, and the bowling alley is buzzing with excitement. Otis and Ditto Otto, are off to a strong start, scoring consistently high. Norbert, feeling a bit nervous, watches them closely as they build a lead.
"I-I dunno if I can do this guys…They're already winning…" Norbert worries.
"Don't worry about a thing, Norb. We've already come this far, we're totally gonna beat them. It's in the bag." Daggett reassures his older brother.
"I dunno…"
Just then, a mystical figure with an air of wisdom and grace, Laverta Lutz, steps onto the scene. Beside her stands Norbert, Treeflower, Daggett, Lily, and Petunia. She gathers around Norbert, who looks relieved to see her.
"Oooooooh, who is she Daddy?" The girls asked their father in confusion as the girls have never seen her before.
"That my dear girls is the lady of the lanes herself,Laverta Lutz" he addressed to his daughters.
"Wooooooow!" the girls gasped in amazement.
"Norbert, fear not, for the lanes hold no secrets from those with heart. You have the power within you to conquer any challenge." She advises him in her typical southern accent.
"That's right, my love. Remember your training and the countless games we've played together." Treeflower tells him while holding his hand to ease her husband's tension.
"And don't forget, we're the beavers! We're born to bowl!" Daggett advises playfully.
"Daddy, you've got this! We believe in you!" Lily cheers energetically while holding onto his hand.
"Yeah, Daddy, you're the best bowler ever!" Petunia agrees as she nods while holding her father's other hand.
Laverta Lutz floats closer to Norbert and imparts her mystical wisdom. The family huddled together, absorbing Laverta's advice and boosting Norbert's confidence.
"Channel your focus, Norbert. Let the energy of the lanes flow through you. The pins are your allies; they will listen to your command."
Norbert feels all the positive energy coming from her as he begins to ease his mind in a dreamlike state as he meditates in the lanes while controlling his bowling capabilities. Feeling his energy of the lanes flow through him. Norbert feels at peace now and is able to control himself as he snaps back into reality.
"Thank you, Laverta. Thank you, everyone. I really needed to hear that. Now let's go, everyone! Let's show them what the beavers are really made of." Norbert says loudly and proudly.
With newfound confidence, Norbert steps up to the lane, determined to give it his all.
"Remember what Laverta said, Norb. Channel your inner Beaver."
The family and Laverta watch.
"He's in the zone now, miss Treeflower. Look at that concentration." Laverta whispers to Treeflower.
"He's unstoppable when he's in this state of mind." Treeflower agrees.
Norbert releases his ball with precision, and the pins crash down one after the other, leaving only a couple standing.
"Did you see that, sis? Dad's on a roll!" Lily excitedly tells Petunia.
"Yeah, and the Ottos are starting to sweat!" Petunia grins while giggling as she points to the Otto brothers sweating
Norbert rolls the ball again. He scores another strike as they all cheer for him.
"Hey, Norb, save some strikes for the rest of us,will ya!" Daggett chimes in jokingly.
Norbert smiles, feeling the love and support of his family.
"Sorry Dag, but I can't. This is my moment to shine. You already had your time in the spotlight years ago."
Daggett rolled his eyes while smiling with his remark.
With each frame, Norbert's scores continue to climb, and the tension in the bowling alley mounts. The Otto brothers exchange worried glances as they realize Norbert's comeback is no fluke.
"We've got to do something about this bro. He's closing in on us!" Otis worries.
"But what can we do? He's on fire! Literally!" Ditto says anxiously.
Otis thinks for a second. And then suddenly
"I know."
As Norbert prepares to bowl, the Otto brothers subtly trip him, causing him to stumble and miss the pins entirely. The crowd gasps in surprise.
"What the?!" Norbert gets up as he sees he missed his pins,"But how?"
Norbert looks and sees the Otto brothers smirking at him before they immediately turn their heads around while whistling, making Norbert grit his teeth in anger.
Over the next few turns, Norbert's game falters. He makes mistakes, misses pins, and even loses a couple of turns as the Otto brothers extend their lead.
"It's working, brother. The pointy weasel is losing his edge." Otis whispers to Ditto.
"And we're inching closer to victory." Ditto grins.
In the final round, Norbert and the Otto brothers find themselves neck and neck, and the tension in the bowling alley is palpable.
"What should we do now, Lily? We can't let those stupid Ottos win the game and have daddy be sad for the rest of his life." Petunia questioned while she whispers in her sister's ears.
"We've got to give Dad the boost he needs." Lily whispers to Petunia.
"Agreed." Petunia quietly agreed.
Norbert is now seen with sweats coming from his face and armpits as he became a bit more and more anxious and nervous than ever before.
In their imagination, the bowling alley transforms into a light and dance spectacle. Imaginary colored lights shimmer in the air, an imaginary dance floor appears, and sparkles twinkle around them. They even imagine a glittering disco ball hanging from the ceiling.
With their imaginary dance routine in full swing, Lily and Petunia begin to dance with grace and energy. Their movements are synchronized, and their enthusiasm is contagious.
"We'll light up the lanes, make magic in the air!" Lily danced.
"With every step we take, we'll show that we care" Petunia danced too
Lily takes her sister's hands as the two sisters began to twirl around the dance floor .
Their grand, imaginary performance captivates the entire bowling alley, including Norbert and the Otto brothers. Norbert takes a deep breath, feeling the energy and support of his daughters.
"I can do this… For my family." Norbert tells himself, inspired.
With newfound determination, Norbert steps up to the lane, his heart and mind in sync with the imaginary dance routine. He began to dance around the dance floor with his daughters as the three of them were in sync with the rhythm. Norbert twirls his daughters around and throws them up to the air and catches them. The three of them continued to dance in their imaginary dance room till Norbert felt confident as he released the ball with precision, and it rolls down the lane.
The imaginary disco ball above them seems to spin faster as the ball approaches the pins. With a resounding crash, Norbert scores a grand slam, winning the bowling tournament. The crowd erupts in cheers and applause.
" Norbert! Norbert! Norbert!" The crowd cheers as the crowd carries Norbert and his daughters high up in the air.
With the thrilling victory in the bowling tournament, Laverta Lutz floats forward with a grand golden bowling trophy adorned with sparkling gems. She presents it to Norbert, who accepts it with pride and gratitude.
"Norbert, in recognition of your remarkable comeback and unwavering spirit, I present you with this golden bowling trophy, sparkling with the magic of the lanes."
"Thank you, Laverta. This is truly an honor." Norbert thanks her.
As Norbert holds the magnificent trophy high, the crowd applauds, and Lily and Petunia can't contain their excitement. Laverta Lutz then turns her attention to the Beaver sisters, Lily and Petunia, and she conjures two smaller golden bowling trophies, equally dazzling with glitter and sparkles.
"And as for you Lily and Petunia, who danced their way to victory and brought magic to the lanes, I present these small golden trophies as a token of their incredible spirit." She congratulates them warmly.
"Wow, thank you, Laverta!" they giggle cutely.
As the sisters receive their trophies, they hug Laverta Lutz, their faces glowing with joy. Meanwhile, Otis and Ditto Otto, deeply impressed by the Beaver family's sportsmanship and the magical atmosphere of the moment, approach Norbert with humility.
" Norbert, we were so wrong to doubt you. You're a true bowling champion." Otis apologizes sincerely.
"Yeah, and we'd like to apologize and make amends." Ditto nods.
Norbert, with a magnanimous smile, extends his hand to the Otto brothers, sealing their reconciliation and newfound friendship.
"Let bygones be bygones. From now on, we're all part of the bowling family." Norbert smiles.
"Yeah!" the rest of the family cheers.
The two families come together, the golden trophies glittering with the magic of the lanes, and they celebrate not only the victory but also the bonds of friendship and sportsmanship that will forever unite them.
"Now,let's now celebrate this victory with a big victory dinner and some ice cream for dessert!" Norbert announced to his family.
"Yeah!" the family all cheered in agreement.
The beaver family all head to the restaurant inside the bowling alley as they all celebrate Norbert's victory.
Norbert is sure proud of himself for becoming a bowling champion, with the help of Laverta Lutz and most importantly, his family. He is one lucky beaver to have his family by his side through thick and thin and he wouldn't have it any other way.
