"Keep her safe," Roman said.
"Of course," Dean said.
"Don't worry, Roman," Seth glanced at Louisiana. "She's in safe hands. You know that. And only you know what house we're taking her to. If someone finds out, that's on you."
"Way to go to try and put pressure on me," Roman smirked. "Protect her and make her understand that we're on her side. I'll be checking in later."
Roman watched as Louisiana left with Seth and Roman. She would be safe with them. He trusted those two with his life. He turned to look at the men that had gathered in Bayley's house.
"Alright, men," Roman clapped his hands together. "We got a house to search. We don't know what we might find in there so be careful. We know there's a dead man in there somewhere but that he's working with other people. They might show up so we need to be on our toes. Any questions?"
He looked around at his team but no one said anything.
"Alright, let's go," he said.
They left Bayley's house and entered the house next door. They had to rely on flashlights seeing how the house had been without electricity for almost three years. They hadn't made it far into the house before they found a man with long, red hair and a full red beard dead on the floor with a knife still stuck in his chest.
"He doesn't look familiar," Jimmy said.
"Call it in. We might get lucky he has ID on him or has left it somewhere in the house," Roman said.
"Roman!" Jey yelled.
Roman raised his head and looked in the direction of the voice. His other cousin Jey was further inside the house.
"What is it, Jey?" Roman called.
"You gotta come see this!" Jey called. "It's a fucking torture chamber."
Roman left Jimmy to take care of the dead body and walked further into the house. He entered the last room and nearly dropped his jaw at the torture instruments hanging on the wall and lying around. The window had been covered by heavy wooden planks and didn't allow any light in, or anyone to escape the room that way.
"What the fuck?" Roman mumbled.
"She was chained up here," Jey said.
Roman looked over at Jey who was standing next to a chain in the wall. At the end of the chain was a steel collar.
"She somehow managed to get the lock up with some sort of homemade tool," Jey said.
"Clever girl," Roman said.
"And then she just went for it," Jey said. "Girl put up a fight judging by the dead guy. I'm sure you noticed how close to the front door he was. She was getting out of that door no matter what."
Roman moved his eyes down and sighed. All there was on the floor next to the chain was a blanket. She hadn't even gotten a mattress to sleep on. The dead guy had only provided her with a blanket and nothing else.
"Poor girl," Roman sighed again. "At least she's out now."
Roman's phone started ringing. He fished it up from his pocket and saw Seth's name. He hit the green button and put it to his ear.
"Talk to me," Roman said.
"Just a bit of useful information we got out of her," Seth said. "She says the guy she killed is the only one there at night. The others only come and go during the day."
"That means we got all night. That is useful. Thanks. Anything else?" Roman asked.
"We got her cleaned up and into some fresh clothes. She doesn't look as bad as I originally feared but you can tell she's been in a fight," Seth sighed. "She refused to let us see everything, of course. She's withdrawn but we can't blame her for that. Anyway, you can pick up her bloody clothes when it fits you."
"I'm on my way," Roman said. "I hate making you ask this but I need to know. Do I need to bring a pregnancy test?"
Seth sighed on his end. Roman nervously looked over at Jey who clearly was listening in on Roman's side of the conversation.
"Hold on, I'll ask her," Seth said. "Louisiana, Roman asks if he needs to bring you a pregnancy test?"
There was two seconds of silence and then Seth sighed again.
"She's nodding," Seth said.
"Fuck those guys!" Roman growled. "I'm on my way. I'll bring some takeout as well. She needs food."
Roman hung up and looked over at Jey again.
"We need to catch everyone who took part in this," Jey said.
"And we will," Roman said. "Okay, let's clear this house of every piece of useful evidence, and then keep our eyes on it all day tomorrow until someone shows up. As soon as we catch one, we will find the others."
