Hello again, I hope you are all well.
This chapter features Jaime in a solo mission away from the Master and really lets her loose on her own.
The Master Chronicles 7 - One Man as Two
Slopes of the Never Vault, Unknown Time Period…
The Never Vault, a location created by another of the Temporal Powers and one highly sought after by Time Lord and Dalek alike for whatever it contained. Some believed it contained possibilities that had never been able to exist, others thought maybe it might contain some great power that must never be released.
But whatever it contained; the Master wanted it.
He had come here, actually fought the Daleks to get close enough to get close enough to study the Vault to find a way in. Destroying many Daleks to reach the peak of the mountain where the vault had been built but now, he was winded, tired as the struggle with the fight against the Daleks and the harsh environment of the planet itself.
The only think that was good about the situation was that only one Dalek was left between the Master and his prize, unfortunately it was a rather intelligent and dangerous Supreme Dalek. A red case with large gold braces covered its now battle-scarred surface. The pair had been fighting for hours now and both it seemed were exhausted, now they faced each other…the Master with his laser screwdriver in hand while the Dalek had its now dented gun stick. Neither could get a shot on the other and the Master who had to admit to feeling a little impressed by this Dalek spoke from his cover.
"You know, I am surprised at how effective you are. Most Daleks are completely two dimensional in their tactics but you…you have impressed me." The Master said to the Dalek with rare honesty.
"Pointless conversation, a rather strange trait." The Supreme said in a deeper than normal voice for a Dalek. "Do you feel it gives you any real power in this situation, when you are about to die? I am…interested in knowing." The Dalek said, its voice far more intelligent and sinister than a regular Dalek. The Master just shook his head, knowing something the Supreme Dalek didn't.
"Oh, I feel it is important, words have power and mastering the use of those words, can make anyone powerful." The Master said, drawing out the conversation just a bit longer as he could see his plan coming closer. "I do have to admit though, you are perhaps the first Dalek I have encountered that was a worthy opponent. I salute you." The Master said with a genuine respect in his voice.
"That is an…interesting position for a Timelord to take, even one as corrupt as you." The Dalek said as it started creeping forward.
"Oh, I stopped considering myself one of the Timelords a long time ago." The Master said, eager just to buy a few more seconds. "I am as far above them as they are above human beings, but there is one thing that unfortunately you haven't taken into account." The Master said, relaxing as he could tell things were okay.
"And what is that?" The Dalek said with a cruel interest, wondering just what he was going to say to try and save his life.
But the Dalek would never find that out, as just as it moved into the open to it could get a good shot on the Master, its already compromised shields were hit from behind by a blast from a fully charged Thal Pulse Cannon. The powerful yellow blast tore into its weakened shell and blasted the Dalek to bits.
The Master seeing it was now safe stepped out and smirked at the wrecked Dalek. Looking up he saw Jaime carrying the cannon easily on one arm walk down to meet him.
"I don't work alone anymore." He said with a smirk, it had been good for a Dalek but in the end just as single-minded as any other member of its dangerous if limited race. Jaime smirked too and told him with a relaxed relief.
"Well, at least that the last of them sir. But I did find the entrance while you were dealing with the pepper pots." Jaime said with a dismissive look at the Daleks but having travelled with the Master for a while now she knew how dangerous they were.
"Good, good. Well then. Let's see what all the fuss is about shall we?" He asked her and with a matching smirk they walked back up the slopes to the entrance that Jaime had found. It was big brass door with lots of interlocking symbols on it. The pair were full of anticipation and as the Master used his laser screwdriver to open the door enough for them to see inside, they both peeked eagerly.
However, as a bright white light emerged from inside the expressions on their faces changed, from eager interest to horrified in the blink of an eye. They both stepped back, not wanting what they saw to be true and the Master with an almost panic on his face used the screwdriver to close the doors again and the pair rushed away from the door and down the slope of the Never Vault as fast as they could.
The Tardis was sitting exactly where they'd left it and without wasting a moment the Master unlocked the door and both ran inside. Jaime slammed the doors shut hard as the Master ran to the controls and set them off on a random course, not caring where they ended up as long as it was as far from the Never Vault as possible.
They both stared at the time rotor as it moved and breathed a sigh of relief as they were safe. They never wanted to think about just what they had seen inside the Never Vault and would never mention it even to each other ever again.

Sometime later after they had both calmed themselves down the Master was standing in the control room at the console and fiddling with the switches and dials. Jaime stood at the other side of the console doing the same, this was her informal flying lesson as the Master felt having her able to fly the Tardis might be useful in his schemes.
"Now the co-ordinates." The Master said with a smirk as Jaime adjusted the controls. "J.L.M/ 455089/Pear."
"Pear?" Jaime asked as she input the details just like he'd told her. The Master just smirked.
"Pears? Nothing wrong with pears." He told her mockingly as the time rotor moved. It made the traditional wheezing sound before it stopped, telling them the ship had landed. "Now outside is your next assignment. I will be busy this time dealing with the Stagnant Protocol elsewhere so you need to do this alone." The Master told her sternly.
Jaime was a little unsettled to be away from him at least like this when he would be in another time zone and planet, he was her Master and her teacher. But she thought rallying her courage she was not a little girl who needed her father to hold her hand. She had been forced to live for six years on her own in the eighteenth century and during her teenage years had never received any help from her own deadbeat drunk father while having to care for her dying mother and younger sister. Fathers in her experience just let you down, like hers had to her and Becca.
"Yes, now I take you have heard of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde?" The Master asked her and she nodded, having read the book a long time ago and seen some of the films. "Well, the story as it turns out is an actual true one. There is a real Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I would have gone back to get them so we could study them more but regretfully there is already another incarnation of me there and I would rather not run into that one." The Master said with a look of disgust on his face, Jaime wondered quietly what was so bad about this other 'Master' that would make this one version want to avoid him? How many 'Masters' were there? She wondered to herself with interest.
"But fortunately, there is another opportunity." The Master told her with an expectant look in his eye. "Mr Hyde seems to be rather a lustful creature and spread his seed far and wide, a genetic reincarnation has occurred in the twenty first century and I want you to go there and ingratiate yourself into his life. I want you to study their behaviour, see if they have any special abilities and get samples from both. They might prove useful in the next generation of War Seeds." The Master told her and she nodded.
"Understood sir, where can I find them?" She asked and he told her.
"The 'Jekyll' of this incarnation is called Doctor Tom Jackman. A middle-aged man with no idea as to his heritage. But I want you to get in close, infiltrate and observe not from a distance." The Master told her.
Jaime nodded and went to get some things for her long-haul mission, determined to succeed on her own and not with the Master holding her hand.
London, February 2007…
London, Jaime thought with annoyance. Why did it always have to be London?
In the Twenty First Century as well?! She thought with derision.
At least she blended in here, she thought and could wear decent clothes having donned a black business suit, high heels and tights for the meeting although she had a light purple undershirt for some colour and dyed her hair a darker crimson colour. Finding Doctor Jackman had proven a little harder than she had first thought but setting up her credentials as a psychiatric nurse with experience in areas of split personality had gotten her in the door. His own mother surprisingly had pointed her in the right direction, the mysterious older woman seemed to have been fooled by her persona and helped her find her son. Something that actually gave her a little buzz, having fooled someone else into thinking they had found her. She had decided to use her Miss Reimer persona this time and adopt the first name Katherine as a personal touch.
The interview was to be held at their fortified flat in the city, later that night when she would have a chance to meet both of them. The door was open and so she let herself in, walking in her heels clicked on the hard floor as she moved through the flat and eventually found a single room with a large throne like chair in the centre, it was equipped with a number of strong straps.
Either he's really into S&M or 'Hyde' gets punished a lot or both, Jaime thought as she circled the chair and tested the straps. The clock on the wall ticked down slowly towards midnight when she was due to meet Hyde for the first time. Doctor Jackman she could hear behind her was walking into the room so she turned to face him.
"He's due at midnight." Dr Jackman said with a tired look in his eye. "He's usually punctual."
"You really need all these?" Jaime asked indicating the straps, now starting to look for information on her subjects. Dr Jackman was relaxed as he sat down at the computer and pulled out a digital recorder, a Dictaphone and GPS tracker.
"I'm not sure how strong he is." He told her like this was normal but then that was exactly what she wanted to hear…that this wasn't normal. After seeing the Beast in 2016 how did Hyde compare? She wondered to herself. However, she wouldn't let her mind wander and kept to the matter at hand.
"He's stronger than you?" Jaime asked, genuinely wanting to know as it would highlight if they were more physically different from each other.
"Yes." Dr Jackman confirmed. Jaime almost smiled in conformation that this wasn't a complete waste of time but stayed in character.
"Strength isn't usually a variable." Jaime thought as she wandered back around the chair. "In cases like this."
"Sorry?" Dr Jackman asked, having heard the last bit and she repeated it to hopefully get more information.
"In cases like this. You don't get extra muscles or anything."
"There aren't any cases like this." Dr Jackman told her as he got up from his computer and set up another chair in front of the big one in the centre of the room. Almost like a gentleman he motioned for her to sit and told her. "Please."
Jaime was actually amused at his presumption but then again cases like his didn't really get into the official records. Nevertheless, she went to sit, crossing her legs as professionally as she could now opposite the throne chair as she was starting to call it and listened as Dr Jackman spoke into the Dictaphone.
"The woman sitting across from you is Katherine Reimer." He said, calling her by her current alias. "She's a psychiatric nurse with experience in…related areas." Dr Jackman said, pausing a little in that moment as if lost in some thought before carrying on. "She's fully apprised of the situation and yes, she can be trusted. If you approve, then she's coming to work for us. For both of us." He then added like it was important. "She won't take sides. Please consider it. We can't go on the way we've been going." Dr Jackman said with a sudden exhaustion in his voice.
Jaime realised the struggle with Hyde must be taking a deep toll on him, another thing to note down.
"In the event she decides to release you from the chair, the cameras are on." Dr Jackman said regaining a little steam. Jaime had already taken note of them when she had come in but now saw they must serve another purpose than merely home security. "You know the rules." Dr Jackman said with an edge of threat, that did make Jaime wonder if Hyde was more aggressive than he had let on but that again would allow her to study and note the differences between them.
Dr Jackman then stopped recording and turned to her.
"If you do release him then there are three things, he never leaves the apartment without." Dr Jackman started telling her. "Digital recorder, runs for twenty-four hours kept on at all times unless by prior agreement. GPS keeps track of his movements. Afterwards you download everything onto the computer. There's time code on both so you can correlate."
"You wear those things too?" Jaime asked, wanting details on their interactions with each other. When he confirmed that she asked. "Mutual surveillance?"
"Exactly." Dr Jackman said as if they were merely discussing the weather. Interesting so both identities are fully aware of each other and have established forms of communication she noted.
"And the third thing?" She asked, guessing it was the Dictaphone and which he confirmed as he went to leave it on the desk and place some of his valuables into a safe on the wall. Jaime decided to try and inject a little humour into it and asked. "What? Like your running low on milk or something?"
It went completely over his head and Jaime was starting to find Dr Jackman a little boring then his manner changed to a state of anxiety. He turned and went straight for the throne and told her.
"He's coming."
Jaime glanced quickly at the clock and saw it was now only a minute away from midnight, so a shift system she thought with some amusement. How…organised she thought having hoped for a bit more conflict but still this was her study and she noted that down in her head.
"You said violent episodes?" Jaime asked with faked concern, she really didn't care what he did but had to ask.
"Yes." Dr Jackman said as he started securing himself into the chair. Jaime got up from the chair and asked.
"What if he has one? There's not a lot you can do about it under the circumstances." Jaime asked, eager for more information. Dr Jackman however held up a hand and told her, indicating the chair.
"Please! Can you just sit over there." He said more like he was barking out an order. Jaime was annoyed as only the Master got to speak to her like that and she didn't like it from him. From Tom Jackman she was ready to slap him right there and then but stayed professional and did as he told her while biting her tongue.
"What if he hurts someone? If he's as bad as you say he is?" Jaime asked fishing for more information while making an expression of fake concern on her face.
"He is." Dr Jackman said as continued strapping himself in.
"What if he kills someone?" Jaime asked, getting to bigger issues. When Dr Jackman assured her that he wouldn't she asked why and he told her.
"Because I'd turn myself in." Dr Jackman told her and Jaime realised that Hyde clearly had some worry about being caught otherwise he would have broken that rule already. As he was securing his wrists Jaime asked, wanting to define their relationship.
"There rules for you too?" Jaime asked, Dr Jackman as he secured his wrists told her.
"He says that if I ever attempt to look for a cure, he'll put a bullet in his brain." Dr Jackman said. Jaime now started to see they held each other in an uncomfortable stalemate.
"I see." She told him, watching as Dr Jackman typed in a code into a keypad on the arm of the throne.
"He doesn't know the code; you'll need to memorise it." Dr Jackman said, Jaime had already done that and told him so. When he asked if there was anything else he needed to tell her she decided to try and get a reaction out of him by asking a stupid question.
"Do you ever smile?" She faked one of her own but like before it went right over his head and with one last look at the clock, he told her good luck while she wished him good night. She gave him her complete attention; her scanner watch that she had brought from the Master's Tardis taking whatever readings it could while she visually observed the transformation. He slumped over in the chair and then seemed to go to sleep right before her eyes.
After a few moments, nothing seemed to happen and she was wondering if the Master had perhaps gotten it wrong and it was nothing more than a strange coincidence but as she got up from her chair and went to close the door. Briefly the lights flickered for a moment and she dismissed this as the electrics being faulty before a voice from behind her made itself known.
"Who are you?"
Jaime turned around and saw that Dr Jackman sitting fully upright and staring at her with suspicion. She thought for the briefest part of a second that it was the same man but being with the Master had taught her a great deal about noticing the small details and realised immediately that there were differences between the man she had spoken too and the man currently in the chair. However, she didn't want to reveal just how observant she was just yet and played dumb.
"You know who I am. You brought me here." Jaime said playing it like she had no real idea just what was going on.
"No, I didn't who are you?" The new man said. Hyde, she presumed but kept her cool and continued her act.
"We were just talking a moment ago." Jaime said, wondering if maybe she should have made her Katherine Reimer persona a little less slow on the uptake but continued for now.
"That wasn't me. Who are you?" Hyde repeated looking at her intently. It would have made many people nervous but Jaime worked for someone far more terrifying that this man could ever be and she wasn't the least scared by him. So, she decided to move things along and walked over to the desk to retrieve the Dictaphone and hand it to him, she felt his eyes on her waist and legs the entire time and when she went to hand it to him, he took an exaggeratedly deep sniff.
"Oh nice." He said in a weird voice as she took a staged step back as if in shock. "But it's not your usual scent there's another one underneath. A special scent for today then." Hyde said. "For him? For me?" He added with a slightly demented smile.
Jaime continued to fake confusion and shock but mentally noted he had a really advanced sense of smell. She had worn a different scent as part of her cover which thankfully had fooled him. So, she played the recording Dr Jackman had left for him and stayed standing as she was sure if he did get out of that chair it was better to be on her feet than sitting down. As he listened though Hyde started acting more like a child or a very impatient teenager and said with a pout and exaggerated movements and a snore.
"It's raining, it's pouring. Jackman's boring." Hyde said and Jaime was wondering just what mental age the man had. Younger certainly than Dr Jackman she realised and made a note of that.
"He was talking about me. I'm Katherine Reimer." Jaime said, deciding to get his interview over with so they could get on with things acting like she was still a little unsettled for his benefit so he felt more powerful and more likely to reveal things by boasting.
"Is he doing you?" Hyde asked, again making her think of an emotionally immature teenager.
"No." she told him.
"Can I?" He asked which only reinforced her opinion of him.
"No." Jaime told him.
"Then what are you for?" Hyde asked her. Finally getting to the point felt like a relief and Jaime cut to the chase.
"I'm your new nanny." Jaime told him, showing a little annoyance now to cement her part.
Hyde seemed to become excited at that she noticed and started rambling.
"Oh Mary Poppins! I love Mary Poppins! I could eat Mary Poppins!" Hyde said like a child on a sugar rush.
"I'm here to work for you. For both of you if you agree of course. You have a vote too." She told him, trying to get them back on track.
"What? We're getting in the help now?" Hyde asked with a smile on his face.
"I have references if you want to see them. I can start immediately if that suits you. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them." Jaime said as she walked backwards and sat back down in her own chair facing his. She noticed his attention changed to her legs as she crossed them and realised his emotional immaturity was a weakness. Jackman was the mature side of their joint personality and clearly controlling this was the reason he was so tired.
"I' am I interviewing you?" He asked her with a lustful grin.
"Yes." Jaime told him.
"Why do you want this job, Mary Poppins?" Hyde asked her and Jaime realised this was what he was going to call her from now on. Annoying as that was, she kept to her act and answered the question.
"It's interesting." She said, spinning some crap story like you would at any job interview. "It's unique in fact. It's an opportunity" she said but he then in an annoying sing song voice interrupted her.
"She's talking. She's lying. She's spinning a tale and she's dying." Hyde said.
That put her a little off stride as she was surprised that he could tell she was lying and for her own interest as well as her study asked him.
"Why do you say I'm lying?"
"Your heart rate just went up. Pitta patta pitta patta boom boom boom!" Hyde said with emphasis on the last word.
Sensitive enough hearing that he could hear her heart rate from across the room, Jaime nodded and realised she was going to have to work on that. Other beings would likely be able to tell she was lying with a weakness like that and she knew she would have to work on covering her weakness before leaving. She faked sudden seriousness as if to cover her worry.
"I want this job because it is a unique opportunity. Next question." She said forcefully.
"Why is it unique?" Hyde asked her, testing me now are you she thought and decided to admit what she had observed when she had seen him for the first time.
"When I spoke to Dr Jackman, I just assumed it was just a normal case of split personality. But there's a physical change too isn't there?" Jaime said as she got back to her feet and walked slowly around the chair.
"You've got darker hair. A slightly different hair line. Your eyes are dark too, very dark." Jaime noticed wondering what if anything that could indicate. "Hard to tell your sitting down but I'd say you're a couple inches taller, a few pounds lighter too that's gotta be handy." Jaime summed up as she came round again to stand before him. "Oh, and you've got a slightly different jawline. Next question?" She asked.
"Why did you lie to me?" He asked, trying to put her on the back foot again by bringing up her earlier slipup. "When I asked you earlier why you wanted the job why did you lie?"
"I'm sorry but." Jaime tried to come up with a cover but he suddenly became angry and started almost shouting at her with sudden fury.
"RULE ONE! Don't ever lie to me! I can smell lies!" He said almost seeming to foam a little at the mouth before becoming calmer. "Thing is darling, I don't really care why you want this job. Don't mind if you've got secrets, don't mind if don't answer my questions. Don't answer many questions myself…but don't ever lie to me." He said dragging out the last part to try and intimidate her no doubt.
She found this a little amusing but kept up her act of being slightly scared, even becoming annoyed when he called her a 'good girl' like she was some kind of pet when she just didn't answer rather than lying again.
Only the Master got to speak to her like that she thought with anger and decided to make him pay for that somehow later.
He asked her if she could release him from the chair and she admitted she could. When he asked her if she would and she demanded some reassurances, he told her with annoyance that the lights were on and so were the cameras and that she was perfectly safe as long as they stayed on and 'daddy' could see him.
So, their stalemate is genuine. Jaime thought and when she went to release him and he stared at her chest until she made him look her in the eye as she released the chair's straps. Again, like a teenager she thought with annoyance.
Somehow though, she kept up her act of being scared and even joked he must have quite an appetite when he said she was dinner if the lights went out. But then as he left, he moved back in front of her so quickly she barely noticed him and seemed to change his teeth into rougher and animal like ones. She faked a scream and wondered just how that worked. She could match that speed with the antrocytes but the teeth were a surprise.
Later after he had gone out to find some fun for himself, she pulled out her laptop and after double checking her security, she typed up her notes.
Jackman/Hyde.
Immediate Observations…
Slight physical change upon transformation. Hair line, jaw line and eye colour all different while there seems to be slight gaining of height and reduction of weight.
Speed increased beyond human level, able to move silently or nearly silently.
Senses are also enhanced to much higher sensitivity. Hearing and sense of smell able to detect biology changes at a short distance. Unknown actual detection rate.
Emotional maturity…
Jackman is the same mental maturity as his physical age whereas Hyde appeared more like an adolescent. High sex drive but seems to respond to Jackman's command albeit reluctantly.
End Log…
Jaime thought on that as she saved her work and closed down the laptop. She wondered just where the differences between them truly lay and would keep a close eye on both of them. Maybe she thought to herself with some intrigue this might be interesting after all.
Three Weeks Later…
Jaime was typing up her notes again, three weeks had given her a lot of time to study Jackman and Hyde. The former's claim that he was a child was definitely accurate and his immaturity was evident every time they interacted.
Using CCTV cameras had given her the chance to observe him along with a few times she had gone out to observe him personally although she had been careful to keep her distance. She had charted much higher strength than she had first believed to say nothing of the improved reflexes able to scale a wall and move faster than anyone else except her. He also seemed to have a great deal of control of his own metabolic processes, mentally able to control his body's functions in a way most humans couldn't dream of.
But the most fascinating she thought intrigued was his natural ability to drain energy from distance sources, often without even needing physical contact.
When she had realised the lights flickered every time that he changed, she had wondered if he created some kind of field that affected them but a voltmeter had shown a drop in power every time Jackman changed into Hyde or vice versa. They had to be linked.
So, with some alien instruments she had seen him drain the power often without realising he was doing it. He was a natural transducer, able to convert external energy into a form usable by him.
The Master was going to love this! Jaime thought with excitement. An ability like that was unheard of without technological aid. Being able to do that naturally was an incredible skill.
But finding the source of these impressive skills eluded her much to her frustration, she simply didn't have the scientific skill the Master did. She had collected samples of both Jackman and Hyde in the weeks she'd lived with them but couldn't tell anything useful from them. The only thing she had managed to discover in regards to this was from Dr Jackman's own words.
He had told her that the first time he knew for sure that Hyde had come out was several years ago although it hadn't occurred to him at first. On a holiday with his wife Claire, he had been humiliated by a group of misbehaving youths and that night apparently one of them had been brutally beaten and nearly killed. Animal Attack some people had said and never had anyone figured out how although now they knew Hyde was responsible.
That was telling Jaime thought, his own humiliation was the trigger that time but what had set that up since there were bound to have been other moments of high emotion in his life before that and yet Hyde hadn't come out then? No, the only thing that had changed in his life was that he had gotten married.
To Claire.
Claire who had no idea of any of this Jaime thought with a raised eyebrow. And the latest unscheduled change (an increasingly common occurrence) had happened when she was around. That made Jaime wonder if maybe she had something to do with this, directly or indirectly.
The noise at the door made her realise that whoever was in charge was back and she frowned briefly as she saved her notes and backed them up. Leaving her door closed and locked as was her custom she stood in the doorframe and waited to see who was going to greet her.
Not sure just who she was expecting she had poured a glass of whisky which she knew Hyde liked, if it was Dr Jackman then she would probably enjoy it herself later.
"Good evening." She said with a fake smile, seeing it was Dr Jackman this time she put the whisky down. He saw it and in his short caustic way said.
"I don't drink whiskey."
"It's not for you." She said gently reprimanding him. "I wasn't sure just who to expect."
"He didn't stay long." Dr Jackman said ignoring her comment complete which annoyed her but she ignored it. "Just a couple of hours."
"I'll tell him he owns you." Jaime replied. "Unless you want the time now?" She asked but he shook his head as they walked into the chair room.
"No." Dr Jackman said, rubbing his head as it seemed Hyde had left him with a hangover again. "Thursday evening. I've got a meeting out of town."
Jaime inwardly smirked at his naivety as he ended up revealing to her that he paid the prostitute twice. And his own lack of memory at where he had hidden his wedding ring to avoid letting Hyde know he was married. That was a weird issue Jaime thought to herself with amusement as she pressed him on that point. If you are technically two men in the same body and one of you is married, does that mean you are both married?
"I should give you the safe combination." Dr Jackman said absentmindedly. Jaime however had already cracked that weeks ago and told him.
"No need."
"You know you're actually rather frightening." Dr Jackman remarked which thrilled her a little as she had to be brutally honest been getting bored with playing the nice if sassy and smart little Katherine Reimer.
"Which coming from you." Jaime said with some irony, she wasn't Hyde and he found her frightening? That was a bit rich even if she did enjoy it a little.
"What triggered it this time?" She asked, trying to get some more information on just what had caused the unexpected transfer. "The unscheduled visit? It's happening more and more; do you think its stress related?" She asked hoping for some information. However, she was frustrated when he told her he didn't know.
"We should start making notes." She suggested, hoping maybe they might learn something.
"If you like." Dr Jackman said with a tired dismissive attitude which made her want to knock some respect into him but she restrained herself and asked instead.
"Any messages for him?" She asked, having taken on the role reluctantly of message girl between them when they wanted.
"No, any from him?" Dr Jackman asked and she had only one which she felt should probably have been sorted by now.
"He wants a name." She told him.
"Where did that come from?" Dr Jackman asked her.
"Not having a name, I should imagine." Jaime remarked with serious doubts in how insensitive and lack of thought he put into things sometimes.
"Tell him to pick one." Dr Jackman said dismissively as they got to his room.
"I don't think he's asking for permission." Jaime said, knowing this was an issue that Hyde wanted resolved but Dr Jackman, clearly tired and short tempered as usual said sharply back to her.
"Tell him he has it." The air remained tense for a moment or two after that.
Their attention then turned to the matter of the books he had asked her to get for him. Regardless of what he said it was clear that he was trying to find a cure but Jaime knew he had no hope without more understanding of his condition. She did challenge him briefly on it and he poorly deflected her insinuations but she let it rest.
She had to pretend moments later to be scared when Hyde returned whistling to let him know he was there, handing him his jacket with a false look of fear on her face before relaxing the moment he was out the door. He liked it when she acted scared of him, Jaime had learned that early but it was tiresome as she had met aliens and monsters from outer space not to mention some of the worst that humanity had to offer.
Hyde while dangerous and like a wild animal, just couldn't compete with that.
A week later Jaime was refilling the fridge and restocking Hyde's booze which was a shopping trip in its self, passing a wall covered in annoying posters. Carrying the bags down with the aid of her greater strength was easy but she then noticed as she went for the last load that a big black van was parked nearby. Not an ordinary van as there were no markings and some aftermarket sections added to give more room for equipment inside the back and blacked out windows so you couldn't see inside.
They were being watched she realised and with calmness born of surviving many dangerous situations merely continued to carry her shopping down that stairs to the flat. She waited till afternoon and Dr Jackman risked a talk with the private detectives his wife had hired to see why they hadn't revealed 'his' many liaisons with other women to his wife. Listening in she realised they had been paid off and this likely tied into the vans she'd seen earlier.
Maybe that was worth investigating Jaime pondered later.

Later that night Hyde returned to the apartment, or rather fell through the door as she opened it. Honestly, she thought with exasperation, just like a horny drunk teenager, who would have thought it?
"And what sort of time do you call this?" She asked him sternly, given it was the dead of night and with most of the pubs closed he wouldn't be able to get a drink elsewhere so he had crawled home. She closed the door behind him and went to the kitchen, pouring out a glass of water for him and bringing over when he had managed to crawl to the table and rested his aching head on it.
"Dr Jackman keeps apologizing for his short temper. He doesn't realise he's constantly on four hours sleep and a hangover." Jaime said, playing the part of the stern mother figure that clearly Hyde needed. When Hyde moaned as he raised his head, again they focused on her breasts which only increased her irritation.
"You should give up on him. He'd have never hired you if he wanted you. Know why?" Hyde said in something of a slur. Jaime honestly wondered just where this idea that she would fall in love with the boring Dr Jackman had come from. Sex wasn't a taboo for her but hardly anyone really caught her attention now. The Master had made her simply beyond them in her mind.
"Never had reason to think about it." She said honestly, not having even thought of him that way. Hyde of course had his own theory for why she was wasting her time by apparently lusting after Jackman.
"If Jackman gets a hard on…I'm it." Hyde said boldly as he flicked a cigarette in his mouth and Jaime honestly rolled her eyes as she told him, not able to curb her tongue this time and plotting ways to kill him.
"Strange, I've always thought of you as a hard on." Jaime told him sarcastically.
"Oh yeah." Hyde said, with a grin.
"Yeah, mostly disappointing. Drink all of it." Jaime said before walking out of the room.
Getting into her room she locked the door and activated the external camera, confirming that the van was indeed back. Frowning she knew she had to act, whoever they were either they might know something that would help her in her mission or they were a possible threat and she needed to know which.
That night Hyde had tried to con his way into her room but she had been wise enough to keep him out and the morning after, when Dr Jackman was back in the driving seat and had left to try and find out more information from the Callender Detectives in Bedfordshire, she too had gone out.
Pulling a balaclava over her head she scaled the walls with the training the Assassins had given her proving as useful now as it had back then and moved carefully along the roof tops till at last, she finally found one of the vans she was looking for. It was dangerous she thought to take them in broad daylight but she had no idea just when Jackman or Hyde would be back and she needed to identify just who was following them before that.
So, she stealthily made her way across the roof and into the van's blind spot. Making sure no-one was around to see her she carefully made her way down to street level and crept up on the van. Her adrenaline was pumping after some boring weeks. She managed to see no-one was in the driving seat and so whoever it was had to be in the back. Chancing that it wouldn't be locked she pulled out her Taser, normally she would just kill them but she needed information so regretfully she had to take them alive.
With a single moment to brace herself she pulled the door open and thankfully, it wasn't locked. Two men in the back looked at her in surprise but before either of them could react she was on them. She stuck one with the Taser, rendering him unconscious quickly while the other one she grabbed by the head and slammed it into the van's side wall, rendering him unconscious too.

Using the flat was tempting but too dangerous, she couldn't risk them being there when Dr Jackman came back so she took them to a derelict house nearby that she had noted earlier. Separating them into different rooms and kept on her balaclava just in case. She had no real proper torture instruments regretfully but she had managed to improvise some power tools.
Standing in front of a man she waved some smelling salts under his nose and slowly he came too.
"Now, you and I are going to have a little talk." Jaime said, taking care to muffle her voice in case they got away or she decided to release them for whatever reason. "I know you are following Dr Jackman and I want to know why."
"No chance." The man said quickly. "Not with what Klein and Utterson can do to me."
Thank you for that particular piece of information Jaime thought with amusement, having got a major piece of the puzzle without having to do anything to him. Having researched Dr Jackman before she started working for him, she had learned of his previous employer…the Klein and Utterson Institute. A rather secretive biotech company that was very rich and seemed to employ underhanded methods as she was now learning.
"You know, my own employer." Jaime said referring to the Master. "He's an expert at this sort of thing. Knows just what buttons to press to get what he wants; I've learned a lot from him but…still I haven't had much of a chance to put what I've learned to use. So, even though he isn't here right now…I think I will have to gain some first-hand experience." Jaime told him, picking up a power drill and giving it a small whirl before turning to the man who was already quaking in fear. "So, any preference? I mean are you right or left-handed?" She said to scare him more as she advanced with the drill.

A few hours later she left the now two dead men in the abandoned house after wiping everything down, she frowned as what she had found out didn't really make things that much clearer. Regretfully the pair had been virtual nobodies but they had managed to give her some useful morsels of information.
Klein and Utterson had been watching Dr Jackman and Hyde for some time and apparently were watching his wife and children too. She wondered briefly if her instinct that Claire had something to do with this was accurate and what abilities the twin boys they had might possess. She would collect samples of their DNA just to be through although how she didn't know just yet.
Either way she had some more research to do. If she was going to risk going against them without the Master, then she had better be sure and prepared.
Six Weeks Later…
Jaime was getting frustrated at how invisible Klein and Utterson kept their operations. She knew of a handful of locations they used but only one that might be useful to her. Their main office in London.
But one thing had happened that had made her proud…she'd managed to lie to Hyde, and not been caught.
He had noticed her one night when she had been researching Klein and Utterson, she'd been careless and to not give away what she was doing…she told him that she'd been offered a job and was looking into whether she should accept or not. Choosing not too since she didn't like the way they had handled business.
He had been looking at her strangely for a moment but then smiled and told her that she was his 'Mary Poppins' and no-one else's.
He'd believed her, she'd managed to fool Hyde! Jaime thought with a grin, wishing the Master could have been here to see it.
Still, she thought forcing herself back down to the here and now, she had not yet managed to acquire any DNA from Claire Jackman or her sons and only today had managed to acquire blueprints for Klein and Utterson's HQ here in London. Now she had what she needed to get in there and find the data she needed. After drugging him at his mother's request to allow for more easy communication between the two although at least she had the sense to keep the cameras on, she wondered what the results might be with the drug and made sure to keep a close eye on things.
That was when she heard that Dr Jackman was taking his children to a zoo, a zoo that had just been bought by Klein and Utterson. Smelling a rat, she decided to tag along secretly, she kept a close watch on Dr Jackman and for the first time get a look at his twin boys.
They were unremarkable she thought with a slight sense of disappointment but knew better than to judge by external appearance. She had watched carefully as Jackman was separated from his sons so one could be placed in the lion enclosure. Really Jaime thought a frown at the sheer stupidity of whoever had decided to do this, if the children were valuable even as hostages why put either of them at risk. If you wanted Hyde to come out then the simplest way to do it was to threaten Jackman directly.
Clearly the person running this show was a moron, she thought with worry as she hadn't gotten a DNA sample from the children yet. If she had been the woman that she was before the Master had raised her up, she would have been terrified for the boy but those days were gone and as much as it galled her, she couldn't let this happen as she hadn't finished her work yet.
Seeing that Jackman was never going to get there in time to save the boy and Hyde was not yet out she took a running leap over the tall wire fence and into the enclosure herself. The lions and the boy seemed surprised by her appearance but without wasting a moment she grabbed the boy before the lions could react and then with another leap, jumped down on the other side safely.
The boy, whose name she didn't care to learn was looking at her with awe and she managed to fake a smile before seeing a small cut on his hand. Seeing an opportunity, she took the boy to the small café and bought them both an ice cream as his twin showed up exactly the same time they did and the way they didn't talk but just stared at each other made her think that they had some other means of communication. So, they weren't normal boys after all she thought with a smile as she carefully tended to the cut on the dark-haired boy's hand while taking a small sample of his blood at the same time and then his brother smiled and showed a similar cut on his hand. She was confused at how they seemed to know what she was doing and have similar injuries despite only one of them being the enclosure but smiled and took a sample from the other boy before dealing with his cut too.
It was a while before the boys' mother finally showed up with her 'friend' Mr Syme a senior executive at Klein and Utterson so maybe the mastermind behind today's debacle, the woman looked frantic and the sight of her sent the boys running towards her which at least meant they were out of her hands now. The only problem was the boys seemed desperate to introduce her to their mother.
"Mum! Mum! The lady saved Eddie from the lions!" The boys said eagerly and the rather harried mother just grabbed them and held on tight, it would have been a touching scene if she still had the emotions to appreciate it. She felt the eyes of the Klein and Utterson people on her and realised they must have seen what she did. Feeling foolish for risking exposure especially when her past self was still in the US, she wouldn't get enhanced and picked up by the Master for another two weeks. If they looked too deeply then they might discover her past self and mess up her own history so she would need to keep their attention on her now and deal with them quickly.
She turned to look at Mr Syme and smirked at him, he walked over to her and asked her point blank while Claire was busy with her sons.
"What are you? No-one can jump that high, not even Hyde."
Jaime had no fear so she smiled and told him.
"If you can catch me, then you can find out. Find Hyde, you find me." She said challengingly with a cheeky wink before taking off at a reasonable pace for her, leaving Mr Syme far behind. Seeing a van disappear and catching sight of Hyde in the driving seat she started chasing after them, doing her best to stay in his blind spot till they arrived at an abandoned house where she listened to Hyde torturing the man he had captured.
He was quite good she admitted before walking in to the candle lit room as Dr Jackman woke up an hour later.
"Katherine?" Dr Jackman said, now very confused at what was going on especially as Hyde was whispered in his mind that she was hiding something. His shirt was covered in blood and he didn't know if it was animal or human or both.
"Dr Jackman." Jaime said with a frown. "I admit that I have abilities of my own and I conceal them to not attract the wrong sort of attention but right now we need to deal with Klein and Utterson." She said with a firmness that seemed to unnerve him. Like he was seeing something he didn't understand and wasn't sure what to do with so she sighed with frustration and told him.
"Your mother hired me, she sent me your way to help you, I gave you the drug that allows Hyde and you to communicate so you can deal with this enemy. I caught a few of their thugs and made them talk. They're watching you and your family."
"My mother?! My family!?" Dr Jackman said, clearly unable to take it all in at once. Jaime felt aggravation at him being so slow and then realised that Hyde must have left one of the captured Klein and Utterson people alive, judging by the blood writing on the door saying 'Dinner'. Walking carefully into the room she saw a man had been stripped naked, tied to the chair and had many cuts and bruises over his body showing clear signs of torture. Dr Jackman was just behind her and he recognised the man immediately so he must have been one of the men from the zoo.
"Dr Jackman?" The man asked hopefully, Katherine walked in with Jackman behind her.
"Who are you? What's your name?" Dr Jackman asked him with tension, his own concerns about her forgotten in the face of the man who had put his son in a cage with lions.
"Christopher Browning." He answered immediately, quivering slightly as if in fear.
"Christopher Browning, you put my son in a cage with lions Christopher Browning. Why?" Dr Jackman asked and the man again answered with complete honesty.
"I was ordered too." He replied.
"Why?" Dr Jackman asked again.
"To make you change."
"Why?" Dr Jackman asked again and Jaime who was quickly growing frustrated with the slow pace interrupted.
"Because they want Hyde. Clearly, they want to study him and so they put you in a situation that would make you so desperate that you let Hyde take over to see what he could do and hopefully capture him." Jaime said with annoyance and Christopher started nodding straight away.
"She's right! They've been watching you for ages but never managed to study Hyde before, not properly so they bought the zoo to make sure they could go ahead with the plan." Christopher said.
"They bought a zoo just to force Dr Jackman to change into Hyde! Just how much money have they got?" Jaime asked him wondering if they had more cash than sense.
"Enough." Christopher said eager to try and answer their questions so they might hopefully let him go.
"Don't lie to me! Don't annoy me! That's not a good way to go! You've heard of good cop, bad cop! This is the movie!" Dr Jackman said, pointing at himself clearly thinking he must be messing with them.
"Look. I'm nobody me! I'm nothing. I don't know anything!" He said desperately. "But please I'm not lying! Just please don't let him in here again!" He said getting to his real fear of Hyde.
"You work for Klein and Utterson?" Jaime just asked to confirm they were the same organisation and they weren't dealing with a second front.
"Yes!" Christopher said quickly, nodding his head fast.
"Forget Hyde! I don't need Hyde! All I've got to do is pick up the phone! You know what happens to men like you in prison!" Dr Jackman said ignoring what he had said about their mutual employer. "You're life in prison as a child killer! Is that what you want?" He said trying to be threatening but unfortunately for Dr Jackman he was dealing with a much scarier thing that prison.
"Yes!" Christopher said quickly, surprising both them with his eagerness. "Go phone them! I mean you've got witnesses and cameras and all sorts! Just call the police, but please don't let him in here again!"
"Hyde really did a number on you didn't he?" Jaime asked with a raised eyebrow as Dr Jackman picked up the phone and started talking to it despite it being disconnected. Clearly, he was speaking to Hyde and so while he was busy Jaime asked a question of her own.
"At the main building in London, does Klein and Utterson keep all their data on them there?" She asked and he nodded quickly which at least confirmed just where she needed to go and asked another straight after. "Do all the head honchos work there?"
"Yes! Mr Syme! Mr Maddox! Mrs Utterson! They'll all be there. I promise!" Christopher said quickly. Jaime nodded and needed to know only one more thing from him.
"Is there roof access at the building?" Jaime asked him with a serious calm voice. The question threw him but Christopher answered straight away.
"Yes! Most of the blokes go up there to have a smoke! There's no security lock on the door!" Christopher told him and she smiled calmly and reassured him.
"Good! Thank you, Christopher Browning you have been most helpful! I promise you that Hyde will never come near you again." She told him gently as she walked up to him.
"Really?" Christopher asked desperately with a spark of hope in his eyes that made her smile wider.
"Really." Jaime said although Christopher had no way of knowing just what she had meant by that.
Jaime without missing a beat stabbed him in the heart with her hidden blades, kept over from her days working with the Assassins although thanks to the Master she had managed to replace the steel blades with dark star alloy which was not only undetectable by metal detectors, very light and would cut through armour with ease so skin and muscle was no problem at all. Christopher stilled and died quickly while Dr Jackman stopped his conversation with Hyde in shock at what she had done.
"Katherine! What have you done!? You just killed a man!" He said in complete shock but now that she had been revealed and gotten most of what she wanted, there was no reason to keep up the kind Katherine Reimer act anymore. It was time she thought with excitement to cut loose and finish her mission.
"Yes, the same man that tried to kill your son. Can't say that makes me very sad." Jaime said with a slightly mocking drawl that caught Jackman off guard and she pouted before adding. "Now, I will deal with the body so I suggest you run back to your wife before she gets the wrong idea about you and me alone in a building together! With candles!" She said with a flirtatious wink to get a rise out of him which left him completely floored, especially when she with no effort picked up the rather large body of Christopher and carried it outside to deal with it, disposing of it in the nearby woods.
Then she used the van to get back to London as possible, if it meant Dr Jackman had to walk then what did she care? Jaime thought with a smirk, now it was time to see just what she could do.
Klein and Utterson, London…That Night…
After going back to the apartment for a change of clothes and to secure her research just in case the place was searched before putting her balaclava back on with her black leather jacket, jeans and boots and approaching the main headquarters of the Klein and Utterson Institute. Making sure her hidden blades where ready she started scaling the side of the building with a quickness that would challenge even Hyde to match. Reaching the top, she found no one was there and mindful of the cameras she slid carefully onto the roof and avoided the turning cameras till she managed to reach the door and like Christopher had said, there was no electronic security like they had down stairs.
Bit of an oversight really.
Jaime however with a smirk slipped inside and started down the stairs, looking she saw a pair of guys talking in the stairwell, normal security guards she thought before moving as silently as she could before impaling them with her hidden blades straight through the necks. Both men had only a split second before it happened and she smirked as she pulled the blades free. Taking one of their guns and a few spare clips she tucked them into her waist band before moving on.
As she stepped out into the corridors, she saw a group of office workers and unsheathed her hidden blades before running straight at them so fast she seemed almost to be a blur, slicing through all their throats with ease before she kept on running into a group of guards and then doing the same to them.
Alarms started blaring as her actions were noticed but that only made her smile as she took time to stop and pick up one of the guard's rifles and some ammo before continuing on her attack, security being aware only made things easier as they would all come to her now. She could hear the boots running towards her which only made her smirk with a vicious glee.

Fifteen minutes later…
Bodies of staff littered the corridors and the rooms of the building, Benjamin who had thought himself brave, daring and untouchable was now hiding under his desk in his office, shaking like a leaf.
"Sir?" A familiar voice called out and he scrambled up, poking his head just above his desk to see Colonel Hart standing there.
"Is she gone?" Benjamin asked desperately and Hart just stared for a moment before he told him.
"No sir, we need to get out of here before she finishes off Carver and his men." Hart said and the idea that the psycho would kill 'The Mercenary' as he referred to Carver was enough to make him duck down back under the desk before deciding he had to get out of here and maybe head for the Arctic if it got him away from this psycho!
"Well, let's go." Benjamin said as he tried to act brave but Hart was having none of it gestured towards the door but before either of them could get through Hart was shot in the head with a single bullet. Benjamin looked as the man's brains were splattered across his office floor and walls before squealing and just went to duck down behind his desk again only for his shoulder to be grabbed in a painful vice like grip.
"So…Benjamin, is it?" The woman said with an upbeat voice, he moaned at the pain and she just told him. "Oh, stop being such a baby! I mean, its not like I am breaking your shoulder, is it? Or am I?" She said with a strangely light hearted voice before she snapped his collar bone like a twig.
Benjamin let out a high-pitched scream especially as she continued to put pressure on the break to make it hurt worse. Jaime under her mask smirked and told him.
"Now Benjamin. I am sort of doing a job here and I need to know what you guys know about Jekyll and Hyde. And their modern-day copies Jackman and Hyde. So, either I can torture you until you give me what I want, or you can give it to me right now. What option do you think is best?" She asked him with a demented smile on her face.
Sitting him in his desk and putting a laptop in front of him with a USB plugged in she put her hand on his good shoulder as a warning and Benjamin was certainly no martyr and quickly downloaded all the data they had on the pair and Jaime smiled before unplugging her drive and told Benjamin quietly in the ear.
"There, was that difficult? Now, sorry to be brief but I am in a bit of a hurry tonight so I'll have to make this quick." She told him with a smile, she gave him time to realise what she meant before slamming his head into the desk with enough force to crush his skull.
Syme House, later that night…
"Why didn't you tell me Tom?" Claire asked her husband who had now come clean about everything to do with Hyde. Her face distressed that her husband had kept something like this from her but now understanding everything a lot more clearly.
Syme was on the phone, getting frustrated as he couldn't seem to get hold of the office for some reason and becoming more worried the longer this went on. Finally, though he seemed to get hold of someone and a short while later there was the loud noise of a helicopter and an older woman with dyed red hair appeared at the door who looked at Tom and Claire with cold dismissal, unsettling both of them.
"We'll have to relocate to Klein and Utterson 1." She told in her American accent. Syme who nodded, knowing that meant the manor up north where their organisation had its roots. "Bring them!" She ordered him and Syme nodded much to the surprise of Tom and Claire. However, as the men came into the room to presumably take them prisoner a scream came from outside.
The men turned only to be shot in the head in quick succession, Ms Utterson looked and received over a dozen bullets from a rifle to the chest. She fell backwards much to the horror of Syme, Claire and Tom who looked up and saw Jaime or Katherine as they knew her step into the room through the open door, discarding her rifle with a casual shrug.
"Did you miss me?" Jaime said with a sing song voice like a child but her eyes had a demented look in them that terrified all of them. She scanned the room and then focused on Syme who admittedly stood his ground. Even as she moved as fast as a blur and hoisted him up by the throat, he looked back at her with defiance. "Well, at least you've got more balls that your co-worker Benjamin. Cried like a coward when I smashed his face in." Jaime told him and then without wasting another moment snapped his neck.
Claire screamed at Syme being murdered right in front of her which annoyed Jaime who had been enjoying herself. She quickly moved, grabbed hold of and then threw Jackman back against the wall and stabbed an injector into Claire's arm to take a blood sample. Smirking as she at last had all that she needed and pocketed the injector, a sudden flickering of the lights made her look to see Jackman had summoned Hyde who was snarling those animal teeth at her and then as Claire looked on in horror, Hyde leapt at Jaime.
Jaime sighed with exasperation before punching him straight in the face. The sheer force of the hit was enough to break Hyde's nose which made him howl in pain. Jaime walked over and kicked him hard in the ribs which surely broke a few and made him howl even more.
"Oh, I have been wanting to do that for weeks! Wanted to screw me? I'll screw you up mother fucker!" Jaime said with a fury in her eyes as she kicked him again.
"Please stop!" Claire begged her and Jaime actually thought it was cute, her begging for her husband. So, she decided to turn her attention to her and reveal just what she had found out in the Klein and Utterson files.
"Okay, but as a parting gift…I'll let you know the truth about Tom Jackman and where he comes from…oh and your role in all this…Alice." Jaime said with an evil smirk on her face.
"My name's Claire." Claire said with fear in her eyes as Jaime advanced.
"Oh, it is now. But you see while everyone thinks Doctor Jekyll died a virgin, Hyde didn't. He fucked his way around Edinburgh when there was no contraception or abortion. He sired who knows how many descendants and that is where Dr Jackman comes in. He's not a clone, he hasn't time travelled. He's a genetic throwback, a reincarnation if you like." Jaime told her and Claire fearing for her life, her husband and her children grabbed a frying pan and smashed it into the side of Jaime's head.
The blow however didn't have quite the effect she'd hoped for, Jaime flinched and it left a cut on the side of her head but that closed in seconds and Jaime stayed standing, looking almost amused by her attempt. She took the frying pan easily and threw it out of the nearby window, the sound of shattering glass following.
"Ouch!" Jaime said in a mocking sarcastic voice which only made Claire stared at her in disbelief. "I'm afraid Mrs Jackman that you're going to have to do better if you want to do more than annoy me. But anyway, back to the story, it turns out the story about the potion was completely bogus. Instead, the change was started by a bio-chemical reaction, like in Jurassic Park when some of the girl dinosaurs turned into boys because there are only girls around. Well, a serving girl Alice Cameron, she and him fell in love and them being so close and all those emotions sending chemicals rushing through the body made him turn into Hyde."
Claire was reaching for a knife but Jaime grabbed her wrist and held it tight to stop her trying anything foolish.
"Well, fast forward to now. They have their Jekyll but they need Alice to make Hyde happen. So, they cloned her, made sure she had good foster parents and when the time was right, put her in Dr Jackman's path. Tom Jackman isn't the clone, you are!" Jaime said with a smirk as she produced a picture that she'd found in the office that confirmed the events. A picture of Dr Jekyll and his household and there standing at the side of Dr Jekyll, in a picture taken roughly a hundred and thirty years ago was Claire or rather Alice Cameron.
Claire was frozen as the weight of what she was being told hit home and the picture was there as proof, denial started immediately and she just kept repeating "No." Again and again as she tried to come to terms with what she was being told.
Jaime seeing the damage was done just let her go walked out of the room with a proud stride. Picking up the case that contained not only all her research but Klein and Utterson's as well not to mention the DNA samples she secured Claire's and then locked it before clapping sound interrupted her. She looked up almost expecting a threat but smiled when she saw the Master standing there smiling his own sinister smirk.
"Well done my dear. You have come so far; you are definitely starting to think like me." He told her with pride at his creation, there had been no reason to hurt Mrs Jackman by revealing the truth but Jaime had done it for fun, just like he would. Jaime took enormous pride in that and showed him the case and he nodded. "Yes, my dear this will prove useful in the next generation of War Seeds but for now I think we both might enjoy a nice little holiday."
"Holiday sir?" Jaime asked with confusion. "Where did you have in mind?"
"Oh, a little tour through history. I was thinking that we might go and meet some of the most fascination people in history." The Master told her as he led her to his Tardis which was disguised as a horsebox. "Tell me, would you like to meet Ivan the Terrible first, or perhaps Genghis Khan?"
The Tardis doors closed behind them and the ship disappeared with its normal wheezing sound.

The Jackmans, reeling from the revelations of the last few minutes didn't notice them leaving. Claire struggling to cope with what she had just learned about herself was doing her best to try and help her husband who was badly injured from his brief altercation with Katherine as they knew her. At least a couple of his ribs were broken along with his nose and some other injuries.
Suddenly from nearby a woman sat up with a gasp, they turned in shock to see the elder Mrs Jackman, grey hair having replaced red and looking around in shock. She slowly turned and looked at her son and daughter in law who themselves were at the end of their tether with the events of tonight and told them with awe.
"She's gone."

Klein and Utterson, London…Next Day…
The British Army and men from the security services swarmed all over the Klein and Utterson building and secured it while taking away the bodies of all the dead staff. The senior security officer from MI-5 and their commander on the ground was on the phone to his boss and telling him what they had found so far.
"Yes Mr Saxon, a complete slaughter. We've secured all the research material and locked it down, the manor up north as well." The man from MI-5 said with a calmness despite what he had seen inside. "Yes, it will all be sent to your office immediately for the experts to examine but no trace of those responsible…What...Sir we need to know who did this…Understood, your office is handling it…Yes sir, we'll ensure no evidence is left behind." The Security Officer said before closing down the call. Wondering just how Mr Saxon had known this had happened when no one had discovered it before them. But he was a loyal man who didn't question his orders and did as the Minster of Defence ordered, especially when he was going to be Prime Minister soon.
There we are, hope you all enjoyed it. Please review and let me know what you thought.
The Master wanted the information on Jekyll and Hyde to improve his war seeds and it also contains a hint to the future of the story as I intend to take this all the way to the revived series and post Time War era.
Next Crossover is with Far Cry 3.
Next Chapter = After their holiday, the Master and Jaime travel to Rook Islands where the Master runs an experiment on some tourists in jeopardy.
