Tales Of Destruction
"Who are you?" The boy who Rose suspects is the Doctor says.
"Um, I'm Rose," Rose says trying for a smile the boy just stares accusingly at her, he was clearly trying for intimidation but he looked so adorable that he failed miserably.
"Where am I?" He asks, his distrust painfully obvious.
"Trixomea," Rose says managing to remember where the Doctor said the planet was called.
"But that's on the other side of the universe to Gallifrey!" The boy said clearly panicked. If there was any doubt left in Rose's mind that confirmed it, the boy was in fact the Doctor just younger. Why she didn't know but she did know that she had to look after him.
"I know" Rose says, although she hasn't until he told her that, "I've been told to look after you, you'll be staying with me in my mates TARDIS,"
"A TARDIS?" The boy asks grinning for the first time.
"Yes a TARDIS," Rose says grinning back at him, he was so like the Doctor she knew, just younger. They start walking back to the TARDIS.
"Wait if you're to look after me why was I in a lake?" The boy asks. How was she supposed to answer that? Rose wondered, he was still the Doctor he's going to keep prodding until he gets a satisfactory answer and 'Oh you're actually 900 years old but have been aged back into a toddler. I travel with grown up you,' isn't exactly something he's going to believe.
"The TARDIS you where travelling in crashed in the lake," Rose says, before thinking about how stupid that sounds.
"Idiots," the boy mutters, "When I'm allowed to fly a TARDIS I'm never going to crash her," at that Rose smiled to herself, oh how wrong he was.
"Why would they leave me to be looked after by some stupid ape?" The boy asks.
"Oh complicated reasons, you wouldn't understand," Rose says hopping he would leave it at that, all the while know that he won't. The boy raises an eyebrow and says "I'm far more intelligent then you, of course I'll understand,"
"It really doesn't matter," Rose says desperately.
"Of course it dose, otherwise I wouldn't have been left under the supervision of someone as stupid and uneducated as you!" The boy says trying to get a rise out of her. It worked.
"Do you really want to know?" Rose says, she stops walking and turns around to face the boy. "Yes," he says, happy that his plan has worked.
"Fine, Gallifrey is being invaded. There worried that, Um," Rose searches through her memories, trying to think of a name that the Doctor mentioned, "Arcadia is going to fall," she says hurriedly hoping he didn't notice her uncertainty. Looking at his face Rose knows that he hasn't, the boys face was pure white, he looked like his entire world had come crashing down around him, she supposed that it had.
"That's silly, Arcadia is never going to fall," he says quietly and Rose's heart dropped. This poor boy, little did he know that Arcadia had not only already fallen, Gallifrey had been destroyed, and he was the only Time Lord left in existence.
"I didn't say it was going to fall," Rose says softly felling awful about lying to him about that, "I said that they were worried that it might fall, the chances of Arcadia falling are slim but they want to get all the children of Gallifrey just incase. Okay?"
"Sure," the boy said clearly unconvinced.
"What's your name," Rose asked, it felt wrongs calling him Doctor even in her head and surely his parents didn't actually name him Doctor.
"Like I'd tell you," he said sounding disgusted. Although he was being incredibly rude Rose didn't really mind, it was better then him being scared.
"Why not?" She asks.
"I'm only supposed to tell my wife my real name," he said as if it was obvious, Rose supposed that to him it probably was, "I suppose you can call me Theta, everybody does,"
"Okay Theta, we're nearly at the TARDIS," Rose says. They step into the TARDIS and Theta gasps, "She's so beautiful. She's fantastic!" Rose grins and says "Of course she is, now come on lets get you some clothes that fit you,"
