AN: I'm absolutely blown away by the massive amount of support everyone has shown this fic in the one single chapter i posted, perhaps all the silent knight fans immediately clean to anything with these two (I am guilty of the same thing)

Anyways, here's chapter two, I hope everyone enjoys and has a good Monday, and i'll see everyone next week!

The group in the Xiao-Long Rose household was silent after Ruby passionate address. The remnants of Team JNPR just look at each other in shock while Ruby cheeks begin to color in embarrassment.
"I- I mean, if you guys want to join me that is..." Ruby murmured, trying her hardest to bury her face into her knees.
Ren and Nora looked at each other, before looking at Jaune. It seems those two are content to let him make the final decision.
"I get why you want to go to Haven Ruby…" Jaune begin, feeling a bit betrayed by his teammates that they're forcing him to talk to Ruby alone. "But it's not like we're exactly in the best fighting shape."
"I mean, yeah." Ruby simply stated. "But like, when I get stronger and stuff, lets go to Haven."

"Does your family know about this?" Ren asked. "I feel like they wouldn't allow you to go all the way to Haven."
By the coloring of Ruby cheeks, it seems like Ren got the answer to his question. Jaune let out a groan.
The worst part about everything is, he wanted to go to Haven. Not because he wanted to be a good person and a hero like Ruby, no, because Ruby said their enemies would be at Haven.

That means that She Would be there. Cinder fall, the one who took everything from him.

"Ruby" Jaune begin, looking dead in the eyes at the girl. "Your uncle said exactly what about Haven?"
"Well… He said that trail leads to Haven. And if our enemies are going to Haven, then we need to be there to stop them." Ruby spoke in that same naïve optimism that Jaune knew her for.

It was honestly a comfort to hear Ruby optimism after everyone was tiptoeing around him, constantly trying to avoid speaking to him or if anyone does it always niceties and just always avoid the subject around him.
They treat him like a child, something to mince and watch their words with to not set him off. He's not going to bite or hurt someone just for talking about Pyrrha.
Perhaps that is why talking to Ruby was so refreshing for Jaune. Ruby is a very simple girl to talk to too. She wants to be the hero, she wants to save anyone she can, she loves cookies and weapons, and her friends.

Maybe that's why he found himself wanting to go along with her plan.
"Alright, I'm with you Ruby-"
"You're the best Jaune!"
"But!" Jaune ignored Ruby interruption even if he felt his cheeks start to redden. He turns to his two teammates who were idly watching by. He tried to give them a comforting smile.
"Nora, Ren… I know you two-"
"Nope!" Nora stated, shocking Jaune into silence. Jaune turned to Ren and was surprised to see the quiet man give Jaune a quick but passionate nod.
"We're your teammates Jaune, we won't let you leave us behind." Ren told him with Nora nodding in agreement.
"But-"
"No buts!" Nora growled, reaching over and striking Jaune arm gently, which for Nora means that that spot will leave a giant bruise by the end of the day. Even still, Jaune couldn't help by smile and felt a part of his soul warm up.
"Guys! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Ruby said, hugging both Ren and Nora in a tight bear hug.
"So, Ruby…" Ren said after being freed from Ruby's grip. "What's your plan?"
"What's my what now?"
"Your plan? To get to Haven?" Ren asked, letting out a chuckle. "You do have a plan, right?" Ren face went from mild amusement to a bit of panic when Ruby didn't say anything.
"You don't have a plan."

"Hey! I just like thought of this like, ten minutes ago!" Ruby pouted. Sitting back down on the couch. After a couple of minutes of silence, Ruby suddenly jumped back up and exclaimed proudly her idea!
"We'll Walk there!" Ruby eyes shine with pride.

Jaune looked at Ruby expecting her to reveal she was playing a massive prank, but suddenly realizing she was serious began to chuckle weakly. "Uh Ruby… Haven is in mistral."
"Yep!"
"Which is on a different continent."
"I passed geography Jaune!"
"… That means we have to somehow cross the ocean… we can't just walk there."
"Fine, fine semantics! We'll take a boat then walk there!" Ruby for some reason was not letting this idea die. Maybe it was because it was the first idea that came to mind for her.

"Also…" Ruby started before clamming up, looking feebly down at the floor.
"Also, what?" Nora asked the girl.
After a moment of hesitation, Ruby took a breath then spoke. "We're not strong enough." Ruby admitted, not meeting their eyes.
Team JNPR looked at each other but didn't say anything. It wasn't like she was wrong… They weren't strong enough… Pyrrha was the strongest member on their team, and she died basically instantaneously.
"If we walk to Haven, that'll give us time to train and be stronger." Ruby stated, sitting up a bit straighter. "And if we become stronger, then we have a better chance of beating the bad guys!"

"Welp can't argue with that logic!" Nora said, giving Ruby two thumbs up.

Ren stayed quiet for a bit, clearly thinking it over. "Perhaps you are right. Doing our journey, we can train as we move, and when we reach Haven, we'll at least be in a better position. I think this could work."
Ruby immediately turns to Jaune and started giving him puppy dog eyes which made Jaune laugh. Ruby didn't need to do anything to convince Jaune, he was on board from the get-go. "I'm with ya Ruby, all of us are with you."
Ruby squealed and somehow managed and individually hugged each one of them. Jaune smiled and laughed with the rest of them.
It feels nice to be together again. Jaune thought, switching his gaze to the ceiling. I won't forget you Pyrrha, ever. We'll get revenge for you. The ceiling did not speak back, so Jaune turned back to his friends. He'll keep them alive during this trip, he'll make sure of it. But now, it was time to kick Ruby butt in Ultra fighting 7!

Amidst the loud noises and celebrating, a certain uncle was being a fly on the wall, sitting at the top of the steps he listened to the entire conversation. Chuckling at points and being somewhat impressed with these pipsqueaks.

Only somewhat, can't let the kiddos have an ego like him.
So, the punk thinks this is best huh? Qrow thought as he listens to Ruby lose horribly to Jaune in Ultra fighting 7. Seriously rubes, your main horrible in that one.

Qrow drank the last of his alcohol in his flask and thought for a while. Overall? Their plan is shitty. Extremely shitty, like him and Tai staying out all night and karaoke shitty. But their hearts are in the right place, wanting to save the world? Hell, Qrow can drink that. Well, he can drink towards a lot of things, but he thinks that one would at least be shared.

Damn kids are going to get killed out there
Those kids don't know what's like roughing it, knowing how to forge and hunt, and the monumentous amount of Grimm between each town or settlement.
Welp, guess he must play babysitter for a while.
Qrow walked down the stairs and went to the kitchen, the loud yelling of Ruby losing made him chuckle inside as he grabbed some new whiskey to put in his flask.
Yeah, our heroes alright. He chuckled as he watched the foolish kids continue to be foolish kids from the corner of the kitchen.
It isn't time for them to grow up yet.

Getting to Patch proved to be a simple endeavor. Vale was too much in disarray to check every ship for criminals like her, even then, she used her semblance to be disguised, no one even noticed or paid attention to Neo.
Neo didn't bother to learn the name of the port town she landed in, she was just happy that the port was bustling with crowds, perhaps refugees trying to escape Vale. No matter, she is here for one thing only.
Neo spotted an old woman walking peacefully through the streets, Neo walked up to the women and gave her best friendly smile. Neo opened her scroll and wrote the simplest lie.
Hello! I'm looking for my Friend Ruby Rose, she said she lived on patch, but didn't give directions, can you help me?
Using words… How much she fallen…

The old woman took forever the read her message and neo felt herself losing her patience by the minute. After a bit the old woman let out a chuckle. "Ruby Rose? Yeah, I know her, Taiyang kid. A little sweet pea she is, even after what happen to her mother…" Neo didn't exactly need a psychoanalysis on an upcoming dead girl, but Neo just mimic a sad nod. The women use her cane to point to the road leaving the town
"Just follow the road downwards, then take a left. You should pass by Signal academy, once you see head just continued forward until you see his cabin. My Jerome is a good friend of Tai, if you want, I could ask him to show you?"
Neo politely shook her head. She didn't want to babysit some old grandpa. Giving the women a quick bow, she began to head out.
She could feel her heart pumping in excitement. If she had her way Ruby rose would die today.

Neo thought it funny how the people of Patch were sweet to the point of insolence. Neo had to just write a bullshit lie that she was a friend of Ruby from beacon, and some naïve grannie would spell the end of Ruby rose. Seriously, it was like this entire island was blissfully unaware of the outside world. Oh well, too bad for them. Score 1-Neo, Score 0-Morons.

Roman would have loved it here. He would have robbed all of them blind multiple times over, and if the huntsman ever catches wind, they would just high tail it out of there.
Perhaps she'll do it in his honor, after she gets revenge for him, her beloved.

It took a while for Neo to walk to the cabin, but that was fine. She wanted to figure out what way she could make this murder special. Roman would be disappointed if she just did a boring shot to the head, or a knife to the back.
No, it needs to be as extra as possible. Just like Roman was as extra as possible for
But also, walking in there and stabbing Ruby in her heart with her weapon would probably not only spell the end of Neo, but probably wouldn't even kill Ruby if dear ol' papa was fast enough.

It needed to be extra, but it needed to be smart.

Eventually the cabin was in front of her. Neo stood by the tree line and watched the cabin. Neo grew more frustrated and annoyed as many people began to walk in and out, especially since none of them was the girl she was hunting.

Worst of all, Neo still didn't have a plan, a part of her thought back on the initial idea of just dying out in a blaze of glory, but that was simply too boring for Neo and too boring to Honor Roman memory.
So, she waited, and waited, passing the time by counting acorns on the ground and just waited.
Then an opportunity was gift wrapped to her

Neo watched as the door open and colored Neo surprised when the busty blonde walked out. Neo eyes widened as she saw that once snarky girl, she beat up in that train was now missing her entire right arm.
Neo really wanted to know the story behind that entire incident, but she'll have to satisfy her curiosity later.

This was the opportunity she was looking for, and as she watches the girl being walked around the house by a blonde man, who assume is both the bimbos and Rose's father, everything slowly but surely begins to fall into pieces.
She founded the way she wanted to murderer that bitch.

Taiyang XiaoLong, Ruby's father came home later that evening, the moment he saw Jaune and Ren he narrowed at both guys. Then after seeing How Nora was very affectionate around Ren and how Jaune was… well, Jaune. He was all smiles after that. Tai was very nice man, he allowed Team JNPR to sleep in the living room for now and promise if they want to stick around for a while, he wouldn't hesitate to find a way for better sleeping conditions.
Jaune figured he only offered cause Ruby was there, and it was clear she was a lot happier now that some of her friends was here. A part of Jaune felt awful that Ruby and the rest of them planned to ditch home to go to Haven, he didn't want to know what Tai would be feeling at the time. However, Ruby didn't seem to be brought up on how her family will take it, so he just quietly let it go.
After a marvelous dinner, Team JNPR claimed the living room to sleep. Jaune could hear the soft snores of Ren and the painfully loud snores of Nora.
Jaune couldn't sleep. Too much was on his mind.

The fall, Pyrrha. Cinder.
Especially Cinder.
Jaune felt tears begin to sting his eyes as he begins to think of that evil bitch. The one who took his best friend from him, a part of him wished he was the one up at the tower, so Pyrrha would be the one alive.
Then Pyrrha would be the one mourning you, dork. The smart side of his brain told him. Jaune sighed. He hates how logic always wins out in the end.
Pyrrha should be the one alive, the one giggling and eating with their friends. Being taught how to play Ultra fighting 7 with Ruby as they try to enjoy live.

It pained him greatly that she was gone. And there was nothing he could do about it.

Getting up, Jaune quietly shambled to the kitchen and sat down at the kitchen table. The silence was somewhat peaceful… he gazes out of the window and saw bits of the Shattered Moon.
I miss you Pyrrha. He said to the moon, as he said it everyday since her death. Jaune took the scroll out of his pocket and put it at low volume. Opening a video file, he closed his eyes as he heard her voice again.

" Alright Jaune. Just like we practice."

He closed her eyes and just listened to her calming voice. It helps, but it also hurts him. Hearing her, again and again every night. But he didn't think he would stop. Or if he would ever stop.

Everyone that he knows tried to tell him that Pyrrha death wasn't his fault. That there was simply nothing he could have done to stop her. A part of Jaune accepted this as the truth, he knew that no matter what he would do, no matter what he would have said.

Pyrrha was destined for that tower, Pyrrha was destined to die. Destiny to Pyrrha was protecting her friends and defeating the villain.
However the other side of him, the emotional angry side, believed that Pyrrha died for nothing. She died alone and afraid. With a failure of a partner force into a locker to save him.
And she did… She did save him, but she died for his life.

That isn't fair… Jaune thought angrily. Pyrrha live was worth so much more then his. She was the strongest person he ever knew at Beacon; he saw as she tore through teams like nothing, but she also wasn't just strong physically, she was the most kind and generous person he had ever known.

And now? She's gone. Taken by Cinder Fall.

That wasn't fair. It should have been him up at that tower.

Or… it should have been Cinder dead. Yes, that better… Cinder dead and him and Pyrrha both alive to be happy.

Jaune smiled grew a tiny bit as the voice of Pyrrha through the scroll speakers surrounded him. He watched this video so many times he memorized everything that she was going to say. Jaune felt tears begin to prick at his eyes, tears he long thought dried up by now.

The video soon ended, and Jaune just stared at his scroll. Unsure on what to do. He didn't think he could sleep, but he knew his body would probably attempt to kill him later if he didn't.
What to do…
Jaune head perked up as he heard footsteps. He looked at the kitchen door and saw Yang walking in.
Jaune still didn't know what to exactly say to Yang, when everyone had dinner earlier that day, Yang just went downstairs, took her plate, and immediately went back to her room upstairs. She didn't say anything to Tai or Ruby, nor even mention or notice that Team JNPR was there. She was a shell was the best way that Jaune can described it, a shell of the once bubbly Yang Xiao Long.
"Hey Yang…" Jaune tried to start a conversation, but Yang didn't say anything. She just reached into the fridge, pulled out an apple and began to cut it with a kitchen knife. Jaune just watched her do this, not exactly sure what to say or even if he should say anything. Jaune knew that he hated when everyone tip toed around him about Pyrrha, and he figured that Yang might've feel the same way. Eventually, Yang grabbed a paper plate, place the apple slices on it and begin to walk out.
"Hey yang…" Jaune tried again, scratching his head, and looking away. "I hope you have a good night."
Yang just stopped at the door she turned her head slightly to Jaune and nodded and giving Jaune a small smile he never saw before, it was a smirk that he never expected from her. Before he could question, Yang left and left Jaune alone in the kitchen.
Jaune blinked and rubbed his eyes. He must've been more tired then he thought. He could've sworn he saw Yang with both of her arms.

Sneaking into a cabin filled with huntsmen was somehow laughably simple. It seems the peaceful nature of the island somehow extended to this family as well. A simple broken Lock to the front door and using his semblance to disguise herself as the bimbo and she walked in. an air of confidence was around her.
Unfortunately, she couldn't bring her beloved umbrella. She could think of a good disguise for it if someone caught her, oh well.

Sometimes, nothing beats using the classics.

Heading to the kitchen to get her weapon of choice, Neo noticed some blonde fool there, Neo just ignored whatever he was saying, just mimicking whatever she could to get the annoying idiot to shut up.
Eventually he did, as she moved to the door with her knife in hand, he heard the fool say something, but didn't bother to catch it. Instead, she decided to have fun with the dumbo and gave him her signature smirk.

Finally, it was time to do what was right. It was time to get her sweet revenge for the one good thing in her live.

Heading up to the second floor, Neo quietly opened every door, as she got to the end of the hall, she let out a silent giggle. She found her.
As Neo opened the room she saw Ruby, sleeping peacefully on her bed, snoring away. Anger begins to fuel Neo even harder.
How dare this bitch sleep peacefully after murdering the man she loved the most?
Well, no matter. Everything ends today…

She twirls the kitchen knife in her hand, unsure of how she should end this sniveling brat for good. Cut her throat? Strangle her and as she wakes up stab her in the stomach.

Neo pouted, tapping the edge of her chin with the knife. Murder has never been this complicated before.
Oh well.

Neo place the knife at Ruby throat, Ruby herself just responded with a soft snort. Neo grinned as she slowly begins to push-

Footsteps were heading towards Ruby room. Neo immediately stopped her assassination attempt and cowered into a corner of Ruby room, using her semblance to blend perfectly with the wallpaper.

She saw the door turned and open, a part of her wonder if she should silence this person as well but decided against it. Only Ruby has committed a sin.
The door opened and revealed a middle-aged huntsman with graying hair. His red eyes scanned the room in suspicion. Neo held her breath as his eyes scanned where she was. Her semblance won't fail her, it has yet to.
"Weird, swore I heard something." The Huntsman entered the room, and headed towards Ruby, He smirked as he ruffled her hair. Ruby responded with a very tired: "Stahpp ittz uncleee qrowww." The girl said sleepily before returning to snoring. Qrow just chuckled and headed back to the door.
"Thought you we're already planning to leave, ya crazy kid." Neo caught Qrow's word and was intrigued by them. Leaving? How interesting that little miss goody two shoes was about to run away.

Neo waited a couple of minutes after Qrow left. Slowly stepping out of the corner she peered over Ruby once again.

The knife felt hot in her hand. It would be so simple. It would be such an effortless kill. Even if the bitch was able to push her aura when she was asleep, Neo has plenty of tricks up her sleeves.

But now? It didn't feel right anymore.
Neo pouted and paced in the room. The smart thing she knew was the kill her right now and immediately get out of dodge. The entire reason she was on this damnable island in the first place was to play surgeon with this girl.

But it didn't feel right.

Why? Why didn't It feel right anymore. This is what Roman would have wanted. He knew Roman would have laugh himself to death as little red eyes widen to fear as she watches her own sister kill her.

But it didn't feel right.
Neo grumbled and pocketed the knife. How annoying. If it didn't feel right anymore, then what would feel right?

Neo mind went back to Qrow's words. That Ruby was planning to run away. Run away where? What did some pretend hero need to go and do?
Of course… Be a hero.
Neo smirked. Would it be the smart decision to kill Ruby right here and now? Of course. If she was Cinder or one of her goons, Ruby Rose wouldn't be living in the cursed world of Remnant anymore.
But now knowing that little miss hero has a scheme? That excited Neo.
She thinks nothing would be better then to watch the color drain out of Ruby Rose's face as she realizes that she was a failure at doing the one thing she had a claim too on this world.
Now that? That felt Right. That felt like Neo Politan.
Neo took a dramatic bow at the foot of Ruby Bed. Perhaps Ruby rose won today.

But Neo could see the victory in the future. And it was Divine.

Neo left the little girl to get her beauty sleep. Silently opening the window and crawling out, Neo returned quietly back to the woods, flashes of her victory were already blinding her thoughts.

Ruby rose will die, she will die in the most pathetic way that Neo could force upon her.

And then, and only then, Will Neo feel right again.

So, i know some people probably won't like that Neo had a fantastic opportunity and wasted it, but as we saw in v9 it isn't just killing Ruby she wanted, she wanted to debase her at her lower opportunity possible, humiliate her and make her lesser.
I think i portrayed that nicely here, and i hope everyone likes it too

Also i want everyone to know that i have not read Roman's holiday, so anything in the future involving Neo past will be me scouring the wiki like a madman, so if i make any mistakes on her past, blame me for being an idiot.
also blame RT For making Neo past revealed in a book :p
See everyone next Monday!
