~Remnant-II~

The training was not that eventful, thanks to Jaune and his girls. It went better than expected since they were being coached by people familiar with their capabilities.

Jaune was nowhere to be found as he looked for the signs of the egg he was searching for. As for Ruby and the others, they were in the front line, waiting for the Grimm Queen to make her move.

Harriet saw Clover and Winter with…two sets of RWBY and JNPR! And there is the deceased Pyrrha! "Specialist Schnee! Sir! What is going on? Why are you with them?"

Clover looked at her with a serious expression. "The situation has changed, Harriet. We now have a chance to end this once and for all."

Winter stepped forward. "Clover is right. This would be our final stand! We either defend our world, or we die trying. But I believe we have what is necessary to overcome our situation."

Harriet shouted. "But Specialist Schnee! We are ordered to capture them!"

Winter stared at Harriet. "Tell me, is following orders the right thing to do? Or is it helping the people we were promised to protect? Because it wasn't only Atlas that we were meant to protect."

Harriet answered. "But the general said that Remnant is already doomed, and the only thing left is to send Atlas high in the sky where the Grimm and her cannot follow."

Clover stepped forward and answered. "We have realized that it won't work. Just as the Grimm adapted to the weather of the Tundra, they will adapt to high altitude. There is no escaping them. Besides, we have friends that can help pave the way to our victory."

Clover was looking at Jaune's girls. "They may look the same as the people of our world, but they are countless times more powerful than their counterparts. It was our luck that we got to meet them."

Elm stepped forward. "Are we going to go against this much Grimm? This is the largest horde ever recorded throughout the history of Remnant."

Ruby stepped forward. "Relax, this is not the first time we've encountered this huge horde. Trust me, we've had worse."

Nora spoke next. "Please! These are just Grimm! We had to deal with things far worse! I mean, have you guys ever fought against demons?"

Winter and the people of this world shivered. Then, the Ace Ops recognized one of the people in the group. "Is that her? The Winter Maiden?"

Winter replied. "That she is. She is quite healthy now."

Vine had his mouth wide open. "That's more than just healthy. She is younger and is brimming with life!"

Clover said. "Like I said, we can do this. Stop the Grimm and their Queen and protect Remnant and its people."

As they were speaking, the mouth of the Monstra opened and released insane amounts of Grimm charging at them, including the ones in the sky.

Ruby shouted. "Come on, girls! We have Grimm to slay!"

Nora said. "Heck yeah! Let's see which of us can kill the most Grimm!"

Lei said. "Nora! This isn't a game! This is serious business!"

Nora said. "I know, but that shouldn't stop us from having fun! The situation is bad, but competition is good for morale!"

Weiss chuckled. "She isn't wrong." She proceeded to charge forward and kill four Grimm simultaneously. "Yeah! I'm in the first place! The winner would get to order the others around!"

Ruby was scowling. "No fair! You cheated!" She then proceeds to kill five Grimm like nothing.

The rest followed suit and started killing Grimm as quickly as possible.

The Ace Ops were shocked at how easily they could kill Grimm. Jaune tapped one of their shoulders. "Trust me on this, they haven't even gotten serious. Because if they were, the view in front of you would be decimated."

Harriet had a shakey leg, "Where did they come from?"

Clover beside Harriet spoke. "Like I said, they are friends from another world, another Remnant. It's quite funny. They are people from a world that has yet to experience what happened to us, but they are far stronger than we can ever be. All this could be attributed to one person in their world."

As Harriet watched the alternate fight the Grimm, she had a thought. 'I'm glad they're not the ones that I fought earlier. I'm sure I wouldn't even be able to catch a glimpse of their shadow if I chased them.'

Unfortunately, her thought was interrupted when she saw the people her team was meant to capture fighting Grimm. Although not as exaggerated as the alternate, they were still far stronger now than before.

Harriet looked at Clover. "Are they alternates as well?"

Clover shook his head. "No, those are the ones from our world."

~Elsewhere~

Jaune was in a cave. He followed the energy signature of the egg. It was detected earlier in this cave before disappearing. He deduced that another might have felt the egg's existence. Who that was is unknown.

[Beep! The energy has been detected to be above Atlas]

Jaune was wide-eyed. "What? How? Was it taken by someone with a flight Semblance? Or did a Grimm take it? Has it been fused with the person that took it?"

[Beep! It has not. If the parasitization were to happen, there would be an earthquake due to the sudden surge of energy]

Jaune sighed. "That's a relief. If I'm not in the area where the parasitization was to happen, there would be no one capable of stopping that thing. I love the girls, but I know they don't have the strength to challenge something like that. At least not yet."

As Jaune walked out of the cave, he asked. "Hey, voice. Is there a way I can help the girls get on my level faster?"

[Beep! There is. It is called [Link], a unique ability that allows you to share the fruit of your labor]

Jaune was elated. "Great! How can I get that ability? If there was an option like that, why didn't you ever offer it?"

[Beep! [Link] is a unique ability that can only be given through mission rewards on world #BnH-060714. For you to receive [Link], you need to train Midoriya Izuku to be a powerful Hero without the help of the Dreamscape and help All Might resolve his issue]

Jaune had no idea who those were since he had never been in that world before. Nonetheless, it was something he could do to push the other's level to be on par with him. They would be his greatest support when fighting the Beast of the Rift, as they were the ones he trusted the most to have his back.

He said. "Great! Once I'm done here, I can check out that world. The others are far too weak as they are now. The egg itself could augment its host to ten times my power. I can't imagine how powerful the juvenile headed to Remnant, let alone the adult that may someday come once we eliminate the younger one."

Jaune headed out of the cave and flew in the direction where the others were. "Can you detect where the exact location of the egg?"

[Beep! The only location is somewhere within the vicinity of the Monstra. Something is trying to mask the energy signature of the egg]

As he was flying, the voice warned as an earthquake shook the world.

[Beep! Beep! Beep! The egg has parasitized]

Jaune had a scowl on his face. "I can tell! Damn it! Why all of a sudden? I thought whoever had the egg was being cautious."

[Beep! The retriever of the egg was cautious. The being that was parasitized was Grimm. I have started to absorb the other Grimm in its vicinity, and it is beginning to get stronger. Kill it as soon as possible before it continues to grow. Strength calculation has been exceeded]

Jaune was shocked. "What?! Does that mean it is more than ten times stronger than me?"

[Beep! Grimm is a product of the God of Darkness. They have residual D.E. from their creator. No matter how minuscule, the egg can process it to gain control over it and increase its strength]

Jaune was astonished. "Hold on! If Grimm has D.E., does that mean I can increase my D.E. if I kill them?"

[Beep! Not possible. The God of Darkness is still alive. Absorbing the D.E. of a living being can alert them of what you've done. This would be inviting chaos to your world. Therefore, as a default, your [Gluttony] skill doesn't absorb D.E. from beings that merely hold a borrowed form of it]

Jaune raised an eyebrow. "That's good to know…Hey, I have a question. [Link] shares the fruit of my labor with people I have established a link to. Does this include D.E.?"

[Beep! No, it does not. You have yet to use [Gluttony] on a God, but when you do, I will have to interfere and temporarily absorb the D.E. and transform it to be usable by you. Otherwise, you would explode, just as I have told you about when your D.E. gets absorbed by another]

For now, Jaune stopped asking as he needed to hurry up where the others were, as that was the earthquake's point of origin or, more precisely, the space quake.
