This is based on Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series, and if you haven't read those books, all of them, you should probably leave now because I might accidentally put some spoilers in. So, basically, you're going to have to read to find out - someone gets dragged into something that they didn't know existed, and they end up changing tradition forever. T for language. :)
