Β§ The plan Β§

Z o Γ«

She was 10 when she realized her father was a part of some strange organization. At first, she thought it was a cult, giving money to some big guys and stuff; but soon she found out something more. He kidnaps and hurts people, which kind of people she didn't know; but there's no doubt that the man she so called father is the devil himself to his victims. Screams, beggars and the sound of gun firing can be heard most of the time her father, Atlas, came home after 9. There is always a big black bag being dragged out of the house next morning by a concern servant, a huge person, she would say.

She tried to ask her mother about father's job, but the answer never change: "It's none of your concern as long as we have money to spent." ZoΓ« knew their family is rich, her friends at school always flatter her like she is some royal highness, even though she doesn't like it, at all. She stopped bothering her mother because there is little Cal, who is 1 year old, need to look after. Figured she couldn't ask out anything, she decided to seek answers by herself.

She began to listen; listen to every little detail her father and his colleagues are talking about. Companies they have trading with, who are their enemies and who are their allies.

After eavesdropping for a mouth or so, she was caught by her mother.

"Zo? Why aren't you in bed at this time?" The sound of her mother questioning her came from behind, she jumped a little and the piece of paper along with paper dropped to the floor. Her mother bending her knees and picked them up.

"I…" She didn't know what to say, telling her mom she was kind of spying on her husband is weird and she might get mad. Just as she was thinking how could she reply and brush off, the door of the office they were standing in front of opened. The person behind to door is no other man than her father, Atlas.

"Girls? What are you doing here? It's almost midnight right now. And honey, shouldn't you be watching Calypso?" Atlas asked in surprise, then scolded at his wife for not watching over their little daughter. ZoΓ« is slightly unpleased at the tone Atlas is speak to her mother. Though the man called his wife 'honey', the way he spit out the words with annoyed let people feels he doesn't think that way.

"Oh, ZoΓ« just had a little sleep walking problem, there's nothing to worry about." Unexpected, her mom chose to hide the fact she just listened to what her father is talking about in his office. Her parents exchange hugs before her mother tugged her hand and bring her out of the scene.

"How long have you been listening?" Mom asked her after she tugged her in bed.

"About a month?" ZoΓ« answered in a volume so little she thought her mom didn't catch what she said. When she opened mouth to repeat what she said, her mother spoke first.

"ZoΓ«, now listen to my words carefully." She nodded to show her that her attention is fully on her. "I won't tell you to stop, because I know you won't listen. But don't get caught. Do you hear me? I might not be able to help you next time." Her mother held her hands so tight she thought the blood circulation was cut off. She held it like it's her lifeline, and that's the first time she knew something was off.

"I promise."

"ZoΓ«! ZoΓ«!" Her little sister Calypso ran towards her, calling out for help.

Now she is 18 years old, as her dear sister is 9. She still keeps the routine of spying on her father's work. But as her age grow, it's more difficult to seek around, plus, she is about to go to college.

"What wrong Cal? Didn't Mother told you not to run around the house?" Cal stopped in front of her, tugged her shirt, mentioning her to bend down because she has somethings to share.

"Mom is asking for you, she tell me don't get caught by anyone and tell you." Cal whispered into her ears, she ran the information in her head and starts to get nervous.

Their mother's health condition has dropped dramatically in the past year, the doctor said it's the heart which is getting weaker and weaker. But with the stranger attitude and the aura around the doctor, ZoΓ« knew things aren't that simple. The whole mansion is in low-spirited ever since they get the message that their hostess is ill. While Atlas' coldness towards her apparently doesn't help with the situation. Every time she wants to ask her mother what's wrong, there are guards in her bedroom. It's stupid even considering the job Atlas is doing.

"Okay. Do you want to come with me?"

"Yes!" Cal hopped up and down, wanting to see her mother even though they just met a few minutes ago.

The two walked hand in hand, luckily, no maids or guards stop them in the middle of the way, it's not like they dare to. But what surprised her is there is no guards around Mom's bedroom when they arrived.

"Hello, my two flowers." Their mother greets them weakly on her bed but with a full-heart smile across her face.

"Hey mom." ZoΓ« gave her a small hug and put Cal on the bed as she tugged herself into Mom's arms.

"We need to be quick; the guards will be back soon." Her mom told her harshly after she and Cal spend a little moment together.

"What's wrong? Something with your health? Or Dad?"

"Go spy on your father's meeting tonight. This might be too much to ask, you can say no if you want to. But there is a plan, big one, and you need to know about it."

"I'll do it."

"Also, pack your bag, and Cal's."

"What…?"

"You might need to run if you were caught, it's the worst scenario but let's pray it won't happen. Remember the training."

Mom started to send her to those self-defenses and fighting classes not long after the first time she got caught eavesdropping. They were disguise as piano and ballet classes in case Atlas got suspicious. Maybe it's in her genes, she gets really good, good enough to consider open classes if she needs money in the future. The thought which flew pass her mind now seems as real as fuck.

"What about you?" ZoΓ« spoke after thinking for a long period.

"I'm literally trapped in this room. There's no point of escaping." Her mom replied with depress. And there's a feeling that she wasn't only referring the room.

"What are you guys doing?" Several men with black suit and earphones rush in the room, forming a wall while her father Atlas' yell booming through the room. He didn't notice there is child in the room.

"Sorry sir, there's a little problem with the bathroom down the hallway." The men who stood in the front of the line answered.

"And tell me why all of you need to fix that little problem in the bathroom!" Atlas yelled again, showing his furious about there is no person watching over Mom's room. Cal is now trembling on the bed, while Mom is covering Cal's ears with her hands. ZoΓ« flinched at the way the poisonous sound bouncing through the walls.

"Atlas, you are scaring Cal." Her mother's words cut through the building-up tension and their father finally turned around, spotting his own children. It's the first time in days the man looked properly at the children. ZoΓ« expected him to drop the cold stare, but the stern expression didn't waver a bit.

"Why don't you two go and play some where else, we adults have some things need to discuss." As Atlas told them to leave with a fake grin on his face, pure disgust rose in her mind. But she knew that mouthing back at her father won't cause any good, according to what he is capable of. Instead, ZoΓ« led Cal out the room and asked her if she wants to sleepover today.

The little girl didn't question her when she told her to bring as many clothes as she can to her sister's room, perhaps Cal also sensed that something bad is going to happen. Tonight, ZoΓ« is going to found out what her father is planning, and maybe that would give her enough reason to escape from this hellhole, with Calypso.

As the clock stroke eleven, ZoΓ« sit up in her bed and wake Calypso up.

"Cal, listen to me, okay? I am going to be out for a while, lock the door, if you heard the alarms go off, grab your bag and don't open unless three knocks." The three knocks thing is a signal between Cal and her, every time Cal is bothered with nightmare, she would find her big sister. In the beginning, ZoΓ« was afraid that someone she doesn't know will break in, despite the high security their mansion is in. So, she told Cal always give her three knocks, two shorts, one long, let them know it's each other.

Seeing the way Cal's eyes is full with horror, her 9 years old sister must get the message.

"Please be save, love you, Zo." Cal spoke the words while shaking.

"Love you too, my moon." Giving her forehead a little kiss, ZoΓ« left the room, prepared to face the devil's whispers.

"They have a boy?!" She heard Atlas let out a roar in the office. Why is his yelling all day long?

"His son. There is a trust worthy source told us that the children are going to the amusement park tomorrow."

"All the children?"

"Yes, but the blonde boy is his son, I suggest if we killed him, the impact will be the biggest." She noticed the person speaking is one of Atlas' colleagues, not minions. ZoΓ« learned to tell to difference by their voice after these years.

"What's his name again?" The boss.

"Jason Grace, 10 years old." Only one year older than Cal, they never move their hands on children before. Guess whether caught or not, leaving this mansion is a must. As she was lost in thought, which was her first mistake, a guard grabbed her arms. ZoΓ« jerked her head rapidly; the guard look at her for a second and dragged her in the meeting room. Second mistake, didn't take him down in time.

"I found this girl standing at the door." She looked around the room when the guard report his discover to the group, ZoΓ« tried her best to remember all their faces, now all she had to do is wait for them to talk, then get out of there with Cal, alive.

"Is this your big daughter?" Oh, so he is the boss. A little older than her father if she must say. There is an ugly scar across his face, from his right eyebrow through his eye to his chin.

Atlas sent his daughter a murderous glare and gave the boss a small nod.

"Deal with it." The boss dropped the orders and led the rest of the people out the room. Pity that she didn't have the chance to identify the others, but knowing the boss is more than enough. Leaving the space for only Atlas, ZoΓ« and the guard who still had a grip on her.

"Go get her mother." Atlas gave the man an order. "Send people watch the door."

"Why does this have anything do with Mom?" She blurted out after the man left.

"Nothing. But she is here paying the price." Her father gave her a ghost smile, she couldn't help but shiver. Then she remembered the plan she told Cal, the alarm. Before losing the chance, she run towards the fire alarm in the meeting room. Atlas watched her in amuse. ZoΓ« hit the button, and the ear-piercing sound ring through the whole mansion.

"What the hell are youβ€”"

"Sir, your wife is here." She thanked the guard for a second in her mind. Wait, no, he is the reason you get caught! No longer thank you to the minion.

"Atlas, what'sβ€” ZoΓ«." A fragile woman figure walked through the door, for the first time in her life, ZoΓ« saw her mother display her weakness in front of her. After mother noticed her daughter and husband is in the same room, at this time of the day, fear is the only emotion the woman showed. More guards trailed behind her, they circled around the room, two of them locked ZoΓ« in her spot, daring her to move

"Here you are, remember what I said about teaching your daughters some manners? Since you can't do that, I'm gonna teach you instead." He strode towards her, while ZoΓ« forced to stood there, watching the scene like a horror movie unfold in front of her.

Atlas pulled his wife to him; in such a hard way it definitely would leave bruises. Then he tore off her clothes, leaving the woman only in her undergarments, showing the scars and red marks all across her skin while shaming her in front of the people. Screams and begs soon followed, along with the sound of fist being thrown against flesh.

How long has the monster been doing this?

The answer is clearer than ever. A year from now, the sudden illness of her mother, everything makes sense now.

Angry boiled in her stomach, as ZoΓ« tried her best not to launch at her father, knowing she would lose; she spotted the dagger striped in the guard's waist. She picked the moment when the men start to loosen the grip on her, elbowed them in their face and kicked them in the balls. ZoΓ« pull out the dagger and throw it to Atlas' back before taking the guards' gun.

Though she is good at throwing knifes, gun is her specialty, more of her liking. Rushing to her mother and send two bullets through her father's legs, one each, they run out of the meeting room.

"Go to Cal and leave this place!" Mom told her as they are running down the hall, in the middle of their escape.

"I can't leave you here!" She plead.

"Flower, I will slow you down. You know where to find help? Right?" She heard to hidden message behind: bringing one child is a risk, adding an ill woman only increase the possibility of being found. Besides, if she needs to seek protection from her father, Chiron is her best shoot.

"I will save you, Mom." Just not now.

"I know." Then they part ways, ZoΓ« made to her room as fast as she could and knocks the door, two shorts, one long.

"ZoΓ«?" Her sister's little voice went through the door.

"Yes, my moon. It's me." The door unlocked and opens a small crack. "Bring everything you need?" She asked Cal again as she gathered all the weapons she hid in the room and stripes them on herself.

"We're going to climb the tree, left this place and go to a friend's house."

"Is Mom okay?"

"Yes," She felt guilty to lie to her sister, but Cal having an emotion breakdown is the last thing she wants to happen now. "I will safe her."

Though Cal is small, she's not stupid. They climbed down the tree which reached near her bedroom window, using the dark night as protection. ZoΓ« stole a car and hit the road as soon as they got out the security circle of the building.

After a five-hour drive, they arrived at a wooden cabin, around the small house is all kinds of practicing range. ZoΓ« reached out her head and carry Calypso down the car, toke in a deep breathe, she knocks on the door.

A mid-age man answered the door, consider the inhumanly time she showed up at his door, he is either well-dressed. Jacket outside a pain white T-shirt, sweet pants as bottom, only the messy hair and half-opened eyes showed that he is waken up in the middle of his sleep.

"Sorry do I know you?" Chiron asked.

"You're Mr. Chiron, right? I'm ZoΓ« and this is Calypso."

"What can I help?"

"Atlas is our father and we need your protection, or should I say Olympus'."

ZoΓ« told him everything, spying on her father, their plan on killing Jason Grace, family abuse, and most important, they need a place to stay.

"You and your sister can stay in the guest room."

"Really! That's very kind of you, but what should I do in return?" ZoΓ« isn't that naΓ―ve, when someone give you kindness, they always need something from you.

"Smart girl. I will convince the Olympus family to send their child to me, for training. I need you to participate as my assistant, and report everything you know about the Golden Age to Zeus. I believe your skills must bring us some good."

"Deal." A simple job for food, place and protection, sounds good to her.

Thalia

A 13-year-old Thalia thinks the whole world is stupid. Well, except the fact that her little brother, Jason, is cute.

Why go to the amusement park with shit tons of body guards? Their father even booked the whole place for themselves. Yes, she knew their family is rich, but is it necessary to spend money like this? Also, who are the people joining them? Dad said they were family friends; she doesn't buy that answer.

First, there is a girl in the same age as her, Bianca, she has a brother name Nico and sister name Hazel. Bianca and Nico both have pale white skin, black hair and eyes. Thalia wonder if they are vampire, wait, vampire have red eyes so no. But Hazel had dark skin, a super-difficult-to-tidy curly hair and golden eyes which she thinks it's cool. Is Hazel adopted or something? Bianca looks nice, good enough to let Thalia wants to talk with her, but Nico seems a little too nerd for her.

And there is another boy called Percy which is a year younger than her, not that she cared much. He also has black hair, what's wrong with this little group and black hair? Only Jason is blonde in the six of them. This Percy boy has sea green eyes, and he looks like a troublemaker. Definitely, opposite of Jason.

They all looked like bored to mind, Hazel kept hiding herself behind Bianca while Percy tried to have conversation with Nico but never succeed. Jason hasn't talk much since they were introduced to each other, the only sentence Thalia heard him speak is: "Hello, my name is Jason Grace, Thalia's little brother." It's strange, Jason usually isn't this distant to strangers. This might sound weird, but he always tries his best to interact with the people their father introduced them to, because they are always important.

"Thalas?" Jason tapped her shoulder and she lean in as he whispered to her. He only uses this nickname when he is nervous or when something is wrong. The last time she heard it was him finding their dear mother overdosed on the kitchen floor.

"Hum?"

"There are strange people on the Ferris wheel." Her eyes darted to the location Jason mentioned. There is a man in one of the boxes, but she doesn't sense the problem. Just as she opened her mouth and prepared to asked him, Jason answered her question. "They have guns."

The next second, several red dots formed on Jason's left chest, right above his heart. Thalia quickly caged him under her arms, and pushes both of them to the ground.

"Duck!" She yelled. The guards around them raised their guns while the rest of the children jumped at her sudden roar then follow suit. The sound of gun fires rang in her ear, but the only thought in her mind is to protect Jason, the source of her happiness and the reason of her existence.

If someone wants to hurt him, she will become their literal hell.

"What did I order you guys? Give the place a full check, so how come there was a gunfight happening with all the children present!"

All the kids are now sitting in the hallway of their family hospital. The nurses gave them a full check and tidy their little cut which formed during the gunfight. Her father, Zeus, the CEO of the Olympus company is now yelling at the guards he hired, which they won't be an hour later. Thalia understood just now that the children's father and hers are all business partners; Percy's dad Poseidon owns the Atlantis while Bianca's dad Hades owns the Elysium.

Then, a mid-age man walked in the room where the three men is, the anger radiated out that room that can be noticed six-feet underground suddenly disappeared.

"They are back." Thalia heard the man said to her father. After that was minutes of words exchanging, the conversation went so fast that she only caught a few words like 'the Golden Age' and 'girls'.

"What do you suggest we do?" Wow, this is the first time she saw Zeus ask for suggestions besides her aunt, Athena.

"Prepare for war. And not us, but the kids. Gather them and train. When the moment comes, Argo will and must sail." She can feel Jason tensed under her hands as they are holding hands, they all heard the key word. Kids. Train.

"What just happened?" A foreign voice spoke, Thalia couldn't tell who it was, she looked around then realized it was Hazel.

"Well, you all heard them. We are going to be throw into some training lessons." She stated out the obvious to them. Percy and Nico didn't show anything on their face while Bianca tried to calm Hazel. She doesn't blame the little girl though, this sounds terrible even for her, not to mention for an 8-year-old girl.

Suddenly, the door slides open, showing the previous man who walked in and their fathers.

"Hello, kids." All of them sit still on their spot, blinked at him. "My name is Chiron, you may call me Mr. Chiron or just Chiron, but no nicknames allowed." And why are you telling us this? "You will be training with me for battle skills, starting from next week." Then he started to tell them why they need to do this, for a full ten minutes. And long story short, their fathers have a business enemy group called the Golden Age and they are violent, want to kill Jason so they need to fight back, etc.

"Did my mother know about this?" Percy asked his father the moment Chiron finished his mini speech. Boy, you are just told to train and become a child solider or some shit and the first thing you care is if your mother knows?

"No, she doesn't." Poseidon let out a deep sigh before answering his son.

"Then you better tell her yourself, this is your idea after all." Percy fired back at his father fiercely. If she speaks to her father like that, one month of dishes duty is basic. They sure have maids at home, but Zeus likes to give out housework punishments, let's just say he is still a typical parent.

"Sir, did you know about the fact someone wants to kill Jason before?" Thalia asked Chiron, she think something is off about this man and she refuse to be nice to him.

"In fact I did, Ms. Grace." She can tell he is surprised that she caught this message by the way he speaks. People really need to stop mistaken her as an innocent, or even a stupid little girl.

"Please call me Thalia. I don't like to be addressed by my last name." She gave him a fake smile. "Now, can you tell me why you didn't inform us this little detail?"

"Oh, I did, Thalia. A message was sent to your father's office at eight in this morning."

"Then Father booked the whole place. Makes sense." She nodded at the words coming out from Jason's mouth while other people gasped at him. "But I thought no one knows I'm father's son." Then again, Jason isn't some normal little boy. The Grace Siblings are intelligence, other words, genius. Zeus knew if their parentage is known by the world, there will be unwanted trouble, so he hid the kids away, only the most important of his people knew that he has two children.

"We have a mole." Hades said. His voice was cold and firm, sending chills down everyone's bones.

"Easy. We are going to keep this between us." Nico said. Thalia noticed that he looks like a child version of his father.

"You all better. If Jason's life is on line again, we all know who is going to drop head first." Zeus demanded and shot a glare at Chiron. Ouch, how about your daughter? She loves Jason more than any one on this earth but lacking attention from her parents still hurts. Then Jason tightened the grip on her hands, she gave him a little squeeze in return.

In the end, they are the only ones who will stay for each other.

The next week, they were led to this cabin settled in the middle of nowhere. Thalia and Jason looked around the place, waiting for the others to arrive. Then they spotted a little girl with brown hair and big hazel eyes, kneeing in the garden, taking care of some plants. Thalia let Jason approach her first, thinking she is about his age.

"Do you know the person who lives here?" Her brother asked the girl. The girl rose her head and looked at him, full of alarmed.

"Who are you."

"I'm Jason, and the big sister over there is Thalia, we are a guest to Chiron." He told her calmly, in a smooth voice. Thalia always thinks her brother has some magic, people seem to follow his orders or listen to his words. It's not like blindly does what his said but pulling people's attention.

"Oh, you are the people Chiron told us! My name is Calypso." The girl let her guard down and gave them the brightest smile she had seen in her whole life. What does she mean us?

"I though Chiron is single?" She whispered to her brother as he came back to her side.

"Adopted?" Jason guessed.

"I wonder."

"Ah, I see you two met Cal." Chiron appeared behind them, the two jumped up at his sudden appearance. "The others are in the house waiting. Let's go in, you too, Cal." Calypso stood up and ran back the house after Chiron told her to. They got in and noticed the group is already settle in, either on a chair or on the couch. In the room, there is a girl sitting on one side of the table, maybe not older than twenty, hugging Calypso in her arms. She has the same hazel eyes like the little girl, except her hair is slightly darker.

Are they sisters? Thalia raised an eyebrow at Jason, asking the silent question. A little nod from her brother confirmed her suspicious.

"Let's introduce ourselves, since there are lots of first encounter."

"I'll go first. My name is Percy Jackon, 11 years old. And my favorite color is blue!" The way Percy said the word 'blue' it's like a man saying his lover's name.

"I'm Nico di Angelo, 9 years old." The boy said while looking down the floor.

"My name is Bianca di Angelo, 13 years old. Nico and Hazel are my little siblings." Bianca said with a warming smile.

"My name is Hazel Levesque, 8 years old." Thalia and Jason exchange glances. Everyone wants to ask questions about her last name, but scared off by Bianca's deadly stare.

"Call me Thalia, 13. And don't call me other names, I will break your arm if you try." She decided to break the silence and give out a threat in advance.

"Jason Grace, 10."

"I am Calypso, 9 years old, you can call me Cal, but only my sister gets to call me my moon!" The little girl said excitedly.

"Last one it's me then." The older girl took turns and look into everyone's eyes before she speaks. "I'm ZoΓ« Nightshade, ZoΓ« will be fine. And I will be Chiron's assistant for your future trainings."
