"Hey, Fugaku? Fugaku?"
Haru shouted and sat up from the bed in a daze. The situation just now was so surreal that he was a little unsure if he had been dreaming.
Looking around, Haru, who found himself still on the bed, couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. "So it was really a dream."
The girl had disappeared; the room lights had been turned off, but the sunlight was still very bright because the windows let it in. Judging by the intensity of the sunlight, it should be at least after 11:00 a.m. in the morning.
"Huh, why do I feel that my body is much lighter?" Haru, who was preparing to get off the bed, wondered in his heart.
After looking at what he was wearing, he realized it was actually pajamas.
Where are my clothes? His suits and shirts were not from high-end brands, but they were worth thousands of yen. Thinking of this, he put up with the pajamas for a while and prepared to ask the hotel staff about his clothes. But looking around, he couldn't find a landline to call the front desk, and he felt frustrated.
"What's wrong with this hotel?"
He had no choice but to push open the door and ask in person. But just a moment after he opened the door, a black shadow flashed in front of his door, startling him, but he found that the person had disappeared.
Haru looked in front of him and gasped. "Holy shit, what was that? Where am I? This doesn't look like a hotel at all!"
He was living in a wooden house with a small porch but not a tall building. It wasn't even a building; it was just a house with a courtyard and a gate outside. The gate was now tightly closed. But how did the black shadow that passed by just now get in?
"Holy shit…" Haru was scared again and almost fell on his buttocks, but he managed to steady himself.
Suddenly, the black shadow reappeared in front of him with a whoosh. It was a young teenager, no older than sixteen, dressed in a vest and tight pants. His bare feet were wrapped in bandages, and he wore sandals on them. But what caught Haru's attention was the forehead protector that gleamed in the sun.
The teenager gave Haru an apologetic look and scratched his head sheepishly. "Forgive me, Clan Leader. I was in a hurry. I just took a shortcut through your courtyard. There's a crowd of people who want to meet the patriarch. You're not angry, are you?"
Bang~
The door slammed shut behind him with a loud bang. Haru clamped his hand over his mouth, trying to catch his breath. "What was that…? A ninja? He had the Leaf's forehead protector, and he moved so fast... It can't be wrong. He spoke Japanese, and he called me the patriarch. Could it be...? Did I transmigrate to another world? Did I become Fugaku Uchiha?"
He shook his head, refusing to believe it. "No, no, it can't be. I must have opened the wrong door, that's all. If I open it again, I'll go back to my own world. I will, I will..."
He gathered his courage and slid the wooden door open again. It creaked as it moved along the track. The young man outside was still waiting, looking nervous.
"Please, patriarch. Hear me out. I'm really in a hurry. It's not an excuse." But before he could finish, the door slammed shut in his face.
Bang~
Uchiha Rei felt like crying. He had never expected that he would run into the patriarch just as he was passing by. What a terrible coincidence! This was the patriarch's wedding chamber, and he had barged in like this. He would certainly face everyone's scorn. And judging by the patriarch's reaction, he must be furious.
He quickly walked up to the door and bowed his head, apologizing for his mistake.
Haru was sitting on the floor, leaning against the door. He felt terrified and confused. He didn't care about the annoying boy outside who was babbling nonstop. He only knew that he might have really crossed over to another world.
"Ah, husband, you're awake?" A voice startled Haru. He turned his head and saw the girl he had slept with last night. She was wearing an apron and holding a spatula, smiling sweetly at him.
"Mi... Mikoto?" Haru suppressed the shock in his heart and asked hesitantly.
Uchiha Mikoto nodded, then smiled again. "Mhm, it's almost noon. The food will be ready soon. Just wait a bit."
She said that and then turned around and went back to the kitchen. But her walk seemed a bit wobbly.
Haru stared in disbelief. Was this girl really Uchiha Mikoto? Was last night not a dream? Oh God… How could this be?
He pushed the door open again. Uchiha Rei saw the patriarch come out and ran up to him to say something. He pulled him to the middle of the yard.
"What's your name?"
"Uchiha Rei." He said his name quickly, wondering why the patriarch had forgotten it.
Haru's heart was pounding. "Show me ninjutsu." He still had some doubts.
"Oh? Is the patriarch-sama going to teach me some advanced ninjutsu?". Uchiha Rei asked with excitement.
"Quit stalling and do it."
"But here? I'm afraid…"
Haru looked around. The courtyard was not a good place for this. "Just use a shadow clone jutsu or something, okay?"
