AN: Hey everyone, Nobel Six here. On behalf of myself, Story's Shadow and the whole Nobel Patriots writing team... we present everyone with the 3rd stage in Vixens journey. As the title of this story says, Imperious' wrath is not a possibility, it's an undeniable inevitability. I'll let everyone know upfront: The first few chapters are going to be slower paced, but once the action gets going... a lot will happen, and I mean A LOT. Please let us know what you all think of our first chapter of the 3rd installment. Unto the show my good friends.

-S.H.I.E.L.D. Base, A Month Since Stalkers Capture-

Metatron sat in lotus position, inhaling and exhaling deeply and slowly. He face trembled slightly, his mind still bombarded with the shocking truth that Vulpine or the clone of him revealed. The Wolf had tried to meditate ever since then, but he had been unable to. His mind wouldn't or couldn't find serenity though he knew this had been the case since Faunia had been razed.

His lips trembled as he growled softly, trying to find a sense of peace no matter how small or short. His meditation often helped him with his next steps...but with ever that has happened, his mind was broken...shattered. The memory of his home world being destroyed, as well as the truth of the deep magic and the gods' death ate at him.

The Wolf slammed both fists onto the floor, sobbing. Tears dropped onto the floor, ears flattened. He had tried, truly tried to find a sense of inner peace as he tried to help his students seek...but he had found none.

There was a knock at the door.

"Mr...Wolf? Metatron? Sir?"

Metatron sighed as he stood up, wiping the tears off his face before he opened the door. A young S.H.I.E.L.D. agent stood before him, her eyes widened slightly at the visage of Metatron.

"Yes?"

"The Director has called you to attend a meeting."

"Lead the way."

They walked for a few minutes before they came upon a door.

"They're waiting for you."

"...Thank you, Miss..."

He moved towards the door.

"Sir?"

The Wolf turned to her.

"If you'd like...S.H.I.E.L.D. has counselors who specialize in trauma therapy. Maybe the Director could arrange a meeting for you and your students?"

The Wolf's ears fell flat again.

"Thank you."

She nodded before she walked off. Metatron sighed and opened the door.

Director Fury looked up from the far end of the table.

"Metatron Arch, thank you for attending."

The Wolf looked at the individuals present. Around the table sat not only the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. but also a few of the warriors he'd heard about: The Avengers. Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Tony Stark (not in his Iron Man armor) turned their attention to Metatron. Captain America stood up and walked over to Metatron. He held out a hand as he smiled.

"I know we haven't had much of a chance to talk since the momentary conversation a month ago. I'm Steve Rogers."

The Wolf slowly moved his hand forward, shaking the man's hand.

"Metatron Arch."

"Thank you again for being here. It means a lot."

The Wolf nodded to him before the handshake ended. Captain Marvel smiled at the Wolf, nodding.

"Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel."

Tony Stark grinned.

"What's up, Wolfman? Tony Stark, otherwise known as the Invincible Iron Man."

The Wolf raised an eyebrow at this, before turning to Steve Rogers. The super soldier sighed, shaking his head.

"You'll have to excuse Tony. He likes to joke around."

"Is he a Monkey?"

Tony Stark's eyes widened at this, jaw dropping. Captain Marvel laughed while Steve Rogers chuckled. Director Fury had the smallest sign of a smile on his face.

"Ok, let's get this meeting started."

Steve Rogers nodded to Metatron before walking over to take his seat. Metatron looked around and chose the seat directly across from Director Fury. The man with the eyepatch looked to the Wolf.

"With the capture of Stalker and the past month of minimal activity from our enemy's forces, we suspect this Imperious is preparing for a full scale invasion in response instead of following his usual methods of skirmishes. With one of his generals in our custody, he will try to free him as soon as possible. We have given you some space given what has happened...but now we need your knowledge of this enemy to help us defeat him."

Metatron sighed.

"I can only speak on what I observed when he attacked my home."

"Any information will be helpful."

The Wolf rubbed his chin.

"Skirmishers were sent out to scout out villages and castles, sometimes guards and soldiers went missing...to be interrogated for any and all useful information to better fight us."

Director Fury nodded.

"There have only been skirmishers here and to my present knowledge, no officials have been taken or disappeared under unknown circumstances."

"Perhaps the false dragon already has enough information about this world. The Clone has explained that in other realms worlds very similar to this one have been defeated and razed...perhaps he believes or knows enough about this world from his experiences in the others."

Captain America sighed.

"Stalker basically said the same after he was put into holding."

"I sense he hasn't said anything since?"

Director Fury nodded.

"I've had my best agents working on getting information from him, so far he nothing."

"From the soldiers that were captured on our world, they remained silent as well. We had to adapt our best to the attacks that soon followed."

"How soon?"

"A month or two."

Captain Marvel frowned at this.

"So he could be preparing his forces a large scale invasion like we suspected."

Director Fury nodded.

"Are all of his armies armed with swords and bows?"

Tony Stark grinned.

"Just toy swords and arrows? This should be no problem."

Metatron shook his head.

"The magic he wields and that flows through his soldiers are very dangerous. His legions outnumbered our armies massively, the demons knew no fatigue or pain."

Tony chuckled.

"Magic? There's a logical explanation for what power he has."

The Wolf grumbled which made Tony's grin vanish as he gulped before Metatron continued.

"That magic he wields is very real. It is one of the most crucial weapons in his arsenal. Our sorcerers fought as best as they could against his power...but these...stones the Clone spoke of greatly increased his power. And with our Gods weakened, the magic of our world wasn't as strong as it once was. The Clone had managed to convince the Emperor of tactics and plans that ultimately led to armies being despite many brave souls continuing to fight for their home and their people."

A tear ran down Steve's face.

"I never thought I'd meet someone who witnessed the genocide of his people and face the forces who enacted such a crime."

The Wolf sighed, his ears falling.

"So many of our bravest died fighting...Jorawar, Uduak, Rajani, Subaru-"

Tony Stark's eyes widened for a moment.

"Subaru?"

"A brave Wolf general, he fell when Wraith launched an attack on a fleeing village. He and his soldiers held the line as the civilians fled."

Tony Stark gasped.

"Oh...I'm...I'm sorry about your friend."

"Thank you...he was a close friend."

Director Fury sighed.

"Metatron, what kind of tactics were employed during the attacks?"

"Wraith was the field marshal of the false dragon's armies. While Imperious did have the highest authority and direction in the war, Wraith often used sadistic and cruel methods in battle. In the battle that Subaru died in, Wraith chose to attack the village as to force my friend to make a decision that forced them into a specific way of fighting as to manipulate the battle in his favor. My friend would have won that battle if that coward hadn't forced my friend's hand."

"With his death and Stalker's capture, do you suspect tactics will change?"

"Possibly, though his end result will be the same: either your world surrenders completely to him...or your home is laid waste. He will though try to target specific areas of strategic value while also trying to keep different forces from working together. Our armies were often forced to fight in different locations to defend villages or cities, keeping our warriors from fighting together and picking them off with their greater numbers."

"Military bases and communication complexes will have to be guarded and civilians will need to have a safe houses where his soldiers can't get to them."

"He will also aim to capture, convert, or kill specific individuals to further his campaign in his conquest. Those here will be some of his specific targets."

The Director nodded.

"There's a method to his madness, we'll need to develop contingency plans for this war."

Metatron rubbed his chin.

"He'll try to find a way to break your spirits or at least take away a crucial element of this world that gives life and strength to the people."

Captain America slowly nodded.

"Removing key heroes and organizations that help the world go 'round to try to subdue everyone here to submit to his rule."

Director Fury nodded before turning to Metatron.

"We have work to do and your experience will help us in defending our world. Are you prepared for this?"

Metatron looked to the man.

"I will do what I can to prevent what happened to my home from happening to yours."

Fury nodded.

"Then let's get started."
