Lucy knew she was overthinking it but now she couldn't stop worrying and panicking that she had waited too long to tell Tim she loved him. "It's been months! We know how we feel about one another but we haven't actually said those three words yet," she fretted to Tamara as she paced around the kitchen.

Tamara rolled her eyes, side-eying her roommate. "You two are the weirdest, horniest couple I've ever met in my life.

Lucy stopped dead in her tracks to glare at Tamara. "Seriously?" she scoffed.

"Yes, seriously. I will bring that up to throw it in your faces every chance I get," Tamara teased. "Anyway, just fucking tell the man already. Get it out of the way so you stop doing whatever this is."

"You're so helpful," Lucy shot back with a smirk on her face.

"I try to be," she snarked.

Lucy started pacing around the room some more, doing laps around the kitchen, completely missing the click as the door opened as her back was to it. "I can't just say "I love you, TIm" casually now!" And then she realized Tamara was looking behind her, a smug look on her face. She froze. "He's right behind me, isn't he? Fuck," she muttered before whirling around to face her boyfriend, panicked beyond belief. "Hi?"

The combined look of awe, wonder, and love on Tim's face nearly brought Lucy to her knees. Tamara would have excused herself but she wanted to stay for this so she stayed silent and waited for this to play out. "You really mean it?" Tim checked.

"Of course I mean it, Tim. I've just been completely fucking terrified to say it. But no more. I love you, Tim Bradford."

He laughed and pulled her closer to him so they could kiss. "I love you too, Lucy Chen. With everything I have."

Tamara nearly melted right there. "I'm going to go before this gets too horny for my liking yet again but fuck, you guys are cute." She waved goodbye, tears in her eyes, and then bolted.

Tim and Lucy's bodies both shook with laughter. "We've traumatized that kid way too many times," he murmured.

"She'll get over it." Lucy kissed him again. "No clue why I was so terrified but it's a relief to have it out there now."

"You weren't the only one overthinking it," he admitted.

"Really?"

"Really," Tim confirmed. "I was panicking that maybe you thought I didn't love you and then Angela called me a dumbass and told me to just say it. She made me practice with her, and Wes was amused the entire time."

"Remind me to thank her later. She knows what's up." Lucy would never get over Angela's reaction when they finally came clean about their relationship (not that they really had to - their friends couldn't resist pointing out how shitty they were at hiding it in the first place).

"She always seems to. That is why she's a detective." Tim couldn't wait for Angela to be his best woman, hopefully soon.

Then, true to form, Tim and Lucy celebrated their latest milestone by going at it right there in the kitchen.
