As midnight approached on the East Coast, Wade and Luna sat down on their couch around nine to watch the ball drop from home. She gently elbowed him. "Remember when we used to love staying up until midnight and partying for both the West and East Coasts?"
Wade snorted. "Ah, to be young and drunk off our asses."
Luna cackled. "Good times. Now staying up until midnight - provided we're not working - is a chore. I miss it sometimes."
"Dominique used to try to trick us into believing she was heading to bed early and would stay up anyway so we eventually started letting her watch the East Coast feed." Now she was on the East Coast and hopefully enjoying herself in Times Square with the thousands of other people. They certainly weren't worried about her. Wade knew she could take care of herself.
Luna snuggled up to her husband. "Can't wait for the holidays to be over."
As a police officer, Wade got busier over the holidays and it was so much better when everything returned to normal on January 2nd. They returned their attention to the TV and cheered excitedly when the ball dropped.
Then they went to bed.
