Marinette's mouth watered as she poured the buttery popcorn into the bowl. There was nothing like hot popcorn and a good movie with your partner/fiance. The wedding was over a month away, but Marinette needed to ask Adrien a very important question.
"Adrien, I've been thinking," she said, setting the popcorn bowl down the lamp table and sitting down next to him. "Uh-oh," Adrien teased. "When you get thinking, I start worrying Bugaboo." "Its nothing like that. Are you really ready?"
Adrien froze with the remote in his hand. What was Marinette talking about? "You know, the thing we've wanted forever?" she said. Oh, that! Adrien relaxed. "We've already talked about it before, Marinette. And yes, I am."
Two days later, Adrien and Marinette walked down the street to the nearest pet store. Today was one of those perfect days were the sky was a picture-perfect blue and the leaves were just turning golden.
The bell rang above the shop door, and Marinette and Adrien walked over to the counter. "May I help you?" the clerk asked. The couple grinned at each other, like their were expecting a child. "We're here to get a hamster!"
Seeing the wide grin on the couple's face, the clerk couldn't help being swept up by their enthusiasm. "Of course, right this way, please."
"Aw, look at those chubby cheeks!" Marinette squealed as she watched a chocolate brown hamster stuff his cheeks with food. "He kinda looks like you in the morning, Kitty." "Very funny. Let's choose carefully." "I think this one will be perfect."
They brought the hamster home, and the couple couldn't be happier. To celebrate, Marinette made her famous mud cakes while Adrien readied the cage. Marinette was just taking the cakes out of the oven when she heard Cat wail. "Ow!"
Dropping the tray, she raced into the living room. "What happened?" "The hamster bit me!" Cat wailed. "Cat, what did I tell you about hanging out in your cat-suit around the hamster? He was just defending himself." "Well, I have a name all picked out. Fang."
"Fang?!" "Yeah, that little fur ball has some sharp teeth. Do you have a band-aid, love?" "Hang on." After kissing the wound, she put a band-aid around Cat's finger. "I'll bring the cakes in the living room, and he can roll around in his hamster ball."
Marinette would have thought that Cat would have learned his lesson when he had gotten a light nip. So, when she came back in the living room, Cat was about to take a swipe with his paw at the ball.
"Cat, I thought we were in this together? How about you get out of the suit and enjoy a snack with me?" "Okay."
Adrien was happy he and Marinette would be married soon so they could take care of the hamster together, but it would take time for him to like the little guy, and his teeth.
