Ness couldn't believe what he was seeing, yet at the same time, he wasn't surprised either.
After unlocking the latent power within him during his time in Magicant, he and his friends had learned that Giygas had retreated to the Cave of the Past 2,000 years before his evil influence came to Earth from that first meteorite that hit Onett. Jeff's father, Dr. Andonuts, along with the Mr. Saturns of Saturn Valley, had invented a sort of time machine called the Phase Distorter to allow Ness and his three friends to go back in time and defeat the Universal Cosmic Destroyer once and for all.
But there was a catch: in order for the Phase Distorter to work safely, it needed a piece of alien energy known as Zexonyte, otherwise any living being using the time machine would be instantly killed. Zexonyte was hypothesized to be contained in meteors, and the meteorite that first landed in Onett seemed like the perfect specimen. So, using PSI Teleport, Ness, Paula, Jeff and Poo zapped their way to Ness' hometown.
When they arrived, however, the entire sky was dark. Even though the time said it should be daylight everywhere else, the entire town was as dark as the night that meteorite first landed. Giygas' alien monsters, some of them being the most powerful foes Ness had faced up to this point, were roaming every street, every corner, every forest, searching for humans to capture and possibly kill on sight—particularly him and his friends.
There were no humans or animals anywhere he saw either; everyone still safe was hiding in their homes, with the lights all turned off, doors and windows locked, and being as quiet as church mice. Giygas' influence here had spread so badly the average, colorful, happy town Ness grew up in was now a desolate, barren ghost town ruled by fear and despair.
Ness growled in anger. Everyone he knew and loved here was living in pure terror…and he knew he had to put a stop to it. He was just about to step out into the open to destroy some of those monsters when Paula grabbed his hand.
"Ness, no!" She said. "There's too many for us to handle all at once!"
"She's right," Jeff said. "If we're gonna save this planet, we need to get to the source first!"
"But…" Ness winced, trying to hold back his fury through tears, "I…I've changed now! I'm strong enough! I unlocked my latent power! I can take them! I…"
"Ness," Poo said, "Don't forget why you unlocked that power. It's what you need to beat Giygas himself. You can't waste it on his endless monsters that'll just keep coming until you're too tired to keep fighting!"
"What good is that unlocked power," Paula told Ness, "If you're not using it where you really need to?"
"B-but…but my…my home…" Ness sniffled. "My…my mom…"
Ness' friends were seeing his symptoms of homesickness again, something that shouldn't be a problem now that he was indeed home. But to Ness, Onett wasn't home anymore—not with it being as dark and miserable as it was looking now.
Paula took Ness' hand. "We're going to save them. We're going to get your home back."
"We just need to follow our destiny," said Poo. "To go back to the past, beat Giygas, and keep him from invading the rest of this planet."
"Yeah. All we need is that Zexonyte." Jeff turned his head towards Onett's highest hill, where the meteorite rested.
Ness wiped away his tears, sniffled a bit, shut his eyes, and took a deep breath. "Okay…let's do it."
——————————————
The Chosen Four slowly crept their way up the hill, past Ness' house, and the house belonging to his former "friend" Pokey, both of which were as quiet and desolate as the rest of the town. All the while they were silently walking as to not attract the attention of any monsters, Ness kept looking at those two little houses.
He couldn't help but remember how things used to be before his entire adventure started. How his mother would make the most delicious steak in Eagleland, how his sister Tracy would hug his leg in admiration, how his dog King would lick his face every time he got home from school, even how he'd put up with Pokey's increasingly condescending attitude the pudgy neighbor kept labeling as "teasing". Ness put up with it because he knew his parents were not exactly the best in the world towards him and his little brother Picky. Ness knew he was probably the closest thing to a friend Pokey had, even if he didn't really treat him like one.
Once Giygas invaded however, things had changed. Ness was leaving home at only age 13, and more dangers came up for him than your average 13-year-old would have to deal with. Pokey's attitude started getting worse and worse every time they met—up to a point where he manipulated Monotoli in Fourside and stole his helicopter. And he was learning the harshest truths of what he would have to do to protect the family, home, and planet he loved so much.
Ness sighed, looking at his own house. He was sure his family was wondering where he was, fearing he was alone with his friends out where those monsters may have already killed him by now. Ness wanted so badly to come in through that door and let his mother know he was all right.
But that'd probably be exactly what Giygas would want him to do, so his minions would learn just where he lived and, even if he was able to escape with PSI Teleport, they'd most likely kill his mother, sister and dog right then and there so the boy would have no family to come home to once the final battle was over.
Ness couldn't afford that. That'd be too heavy and too tragic for anyone to handle, let alone for someone as young as 13, and if the death of his family were to happen in those circumstances, it'd be his own fault, not just Giygas's, and he would never be able to forgive himself for it despite saving this world.
Ness shut his eyes and sighed. "I'm so sorry," he thought to himself, a tear rolling down his face. "I want to come home. And I know you want me home too. But…I'll protect you. I will come back. I promise. I love you…Mom."
Ness' thoughts were so deep from the heart it almost seemed like the kind of telepathy that came from his own PSI. Turning his head away, he and his friends continued up the hill, the shadows in Onett's moonlight moving in ever closer.
————————————
"Almost…there…"
The meteorite was extremely hot to touch, like putting your hands to lava that just hardened not long after a volcanic eruption. But Ness' awakened power from Magicant had made the boy stronger and more resistant to such pain than any normal human, so to him, this was like yanking out the deepest-rooted weed off the lawn, a really heavy weed. It took a lot of strain, with Paula, Jeff and Poo holding onto Ness to give him the extra pull strength, and with a few short heave-ho's…
CRACK!
A piece of the meteorite popped straight out, about the size of a baseball, which Jeff hypothesized would contain just enough Zexonyte for the Phase Distorter to work.
"Yes!" Paula cheered. "We got it! We got the Zexonyte!"
"Whoa…" Ness awed in wonder at the piece of space debris he was holding in his hand. "To think my whole entire journey started with this thing…and now, it's all leaded us back here…"
"My master has taught me that some journeys must lead us backward in order to go forward," Poo said. "And in this case…we must go far, FAR backward…"
"Back into the past." Ness remembered. "Where Giygas is."
Jeff looked up at the darkened sky above Onett. "The longer we stay, the more eyes of Giygas will start popping up to come look for us. We gotta get back to Saturn Valley pronto."
"Right," said Ness. "Everyone hold onto me."
All holding hands, Ness started channeling his PSI, and starting out slowly, he and his friends started psychically rotating in a circle to initiate PSI Teleport b. Levitating slowly, the circle was picking up enough speed to rival a spinning carnival ride, almost enough for the teleportation, when suddenly…
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
Ness recognized that scream. It was coming from the bottom of the hill!
"Oh no! MOM!!!"
"Ness wait!" Paula shouted. "What are you doing?!?" One second before they could teleport, Ness had used his built-up speed to dart straight for his house.
————————————
Ness' mother, Tracy and King were in the corner of their living room, unbelievably frightened. One of Giygas' most powerful Starman soldiers, Ghost of Starman, had broken in through their door and was slowly walking towards them.
"Yesss…" Ghost of Starman said in a half-mechanical, half-demonic voice. "The family of The Chosen One…"
"'Chosen One'? I don't know what you're talking about!" Ness' mother said. "Who are you and what are you doing here?!"
"We represent the Universal Cosmic Destroyer Giygas," Ghost of Starman said. "And he has tasked us to kill the Chosen One and all who try to protect him."
"We don't know any 'Chosen One'!" Tracy cried. "Even if we did, he's not even here, so go away!"
King reared on all fours growling at this intruder.
"Ah yes…fear. Human fear." Ghost of Starman took a deep, long breath. "It smells so delicious." Tracy was whimpering into her mother's skirt.
"He is here. The Chosen One is indeed here. We have detected it. We have felt…his power."
"What power?" The mother demanded.
"We have felt a telepathic power transferring directly to this specific spot. A voice of sadness, fear, concern and determination. It is no mere miscalculation. It was communicating…with you."
Ness' mother gasped. Earlier on before this menacing stranger attacked, she thought she heard the voice of her own son inside her head, as if he was right there with her. She figured this was coming from the bond, instinct and love mother and son shared, that each knew in their hearts that one another was okay. But…how did this monster know what she believed, as a mother, only she knew?
"Wh-What do you mean a 'telepathic power'? Like…psychic power or something?"
"Hmm…so you ARE in the know." Ness' mother hugged Tracy in closer. "There is a prophecy. The Apple of Enlightenment has foretold of four human children who will rise up and destroy Master Giygas. One in particular…one who has held and harnessed our race's power of PSI from infancy."
"N-NESS?!?"
Ghost of Starman glared down at the terrified family. "It's all coming together, isn't it? Your son possesses PSI."
The mother couldn't believe it. She knew something was odd about Ness pointing at his baby bottle and it moving when she and his father were naming him. She was wondering why he kept bending his feeding spoons without touching them. No matter what doctors, scientists, analysts or therapists she took him to over the years, nobody could ever understand why or how Ness was able to do some of the strange phenomena even he'd be unaware that he was doing.
Ghost of Starman continued the shocking revelation. "PSI…a power with secrets that were stolen from us centuries ago by disgusting, ugly Earth people, using the lies of love and kinship to take advantage of us and potentially spread it to other inferior races in this universe."
"What in the name of all things high and mighty has my son been getting into?!" The mother was exclaiming to herself.
"We suppose a demonstration is in order." Ghost of Starman started to build up a PSI Fire attack. The red energy was turning into a row of many arrows alit in flame, all targeting the family.
"I-I'M SCARED!!!" Tracy was sobbing so hard, clutching to her mama harder than ever.
"Now you know," growled Ghost of Starman, "why we must kill you. Why we must bring forth the extinction of humanity. Why this ugly planet must be destroyed. Why the Chosen One and his friends…must die."
Now even Ness' mother herself was feeling just as frightened as Tracy. Her son was in graver danger than she ever would've imagined, all because he was born with some kind of alien power, a power from an incident her family had absolutely nothing to do with. And these monsters were going to take it out on EVERYBODY.
"This will be so beautiful," Ghost of Starman gloated, his voice become more and more sadistic as the PSI Fire grew larger. "Even if the prophecy does indeed come to pass, the young human will return to find his home incinerated, his family's skeletons strewn across the ruins, and he will be lost forever in this world knowing he failed to protect them all. It will be sweet, sweet revenge."
"No! NO!!!" Ness' mother cried out.
"PLEASE! LEAVE US ALONE!!!" wailed Tracy.
King howled and whimpered in terror.
"Farewell, ugly Earth people." The PSI Fire arrows reared back, ready to strike. Ness' mother let out a loud, horrid shriek.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
————————
"PSI…ROCKIN!!!"
Before the fire could shoot at the family, Ghost of Starman was suddenly hit by a wild blast of psychic energy, knocking him back and dissipating his attempted murder. Mom, Tracy and King looked where that blast and voice came from.
"Mom…are…are you all right?"
Tracey's face lit up. "It's…big bro!"
"NESS!" The mother saw that her son was unhurt, relieving her greatly. The family got up to try to give him a big hug, but Poo halted them.
"Hold on…not now."
Everyone turned to Ghost of Starman, who was getting up from the blast. "So…Chosen…we meet again."
"Again? Sorry, we've beaten so many Starmen I can't keep track of them all," Ness remarked. "Why should I remember you?"
"Come now, child, have you truly forgotten me already? From the Stonehenge Base?"
Ness' mother was looking at both her son and this alien monster. They'd met before?! And at such a faraway place like Stonehenge?! This was getting too much for her to take in.
"Wait…hold on…" Paula started. "Stonehenge…"
"Where they were keeping Tony and Dr. Andon—dad—in those tubes…" Jeff recalled.
"Where I found that Sword of Kings…" remembered Poo, "…to help us defeat Starman Deluxe…"
"Are…" Ness asked. "Are you…?"
"YES!!!" Ghost of Starman rose high above the children. "It is I, Starman Deluxe, the commanding officer who came so close to finally killing you in cold blood that fateful day! And now, in preparation for this planet's final requiem, Master Giygas has granted me a newer, even more powerful form to guarantee the sure death of the Chosen One!"
"NESS!!!" The mother was calling out. "Stonehenge? PSI? Aliens? Prophecies? 'Killing in cold blood'? I DEMAND to know what's going on here, young man…NOW!!!"
"You can scold me later, Mom," Ness said in a shivering breath. "Right now…I need to make sure this thing never hurts anyone ever again." He gestured at Paula, Jeff and Poo. "Keep my family safe here! I'll take care of this ghost." He ran right out the door towards his enemy.
"Ness, no! Come back!" But both Ness and Ghost of Starman were out of the house.
Jeff and Poo were holding Tracy and King back from following them, while Paula stepped in front of Ness' mother. She saw that the rematch between Ness and Starman Deluxe, now Ghost of Starman, was going to be wide and destructive with both fighters' newly-awakened power. They needed a safe haven from the violence that would ensue.
"PSI Shield…OMEGA!!!"
A giant psychic force field surrounded Ness' entire house, keeping his family safe from any potential PSI attacks going astray and striking them in the upcoming battle.
"What are you doing?!" Ness' mother shouted. "Ness needs help! He needs his mommy! NESS! NESS!!!"
The woman slammed her fist onto the shield with all her might, trying to get out, trying to find some way to get her son out of there before he got hurt. Tracy personally had never seen her mama so upset, making her hug King even tighter. Jeff knelt down and stroked her hair.
"It's gonna be okay," he said. "He's gonna beat 'em."
———————
Ness and Ghost of Starman stared at each other, right outside the boy's house.
"It has truly been too long, Chosen." Said Ghost of Starman. "Ever since you and your filthy friends destroyed our base of operations at Stonehenge, not once did I ever forget you as Master Giygas reanimated my soul into my current form."
"You…you tried to kill my family," Ness spoke in a low voice, furious at what this heartless invader attempted. "You knew I'd try to get the means to face Giygas in the past. You knew my family would be my very first thought when I came back. You knew how to push me to my emotional limit." Ness clenched his fist so tightly his nails could've cut through it. "That's why Giygas brought you back. That's why you and your forces are terrorizing my home. That's why you were gonna take away those I love and care most for." He lifted his head and glared at his enemy. "And now…I'm about to take down your leader…but not before I get rid of you first…this time for good."
"Be forewarned, Chosen," said Ghost of Starman. "I am not the same enemy you and your friends were able to bring to his knees so long ago."
"Yeah? Well guess what: neither am I."
"We'll soon see."
Both Ness and Ghost of Starman levitated into the air, each fighter never taking their eyes off each other. Everybody was looking up at the two psychic sides.
"We know that you've already eradicated the evil in your heart that supposedly brought forth a power in you unfathomable to even Master Giygas." Ghost of Starman said. "But do you truly believe it will be enough to stop his impending wrath?"
"No question about it." Ness said, his PSI levels getting set for battle.
"Then do not hold back. Unleash that power so that we can see just how far humanity is willing to go to prolong their pitiful existence."
Ghost of Starman's PSI went flaring too.
"It will be so satisfying for your friends and family to watch your demise first-hand, just when you've come so close to getting to the Universal Cosmic Destroyer. It will show this planet that there is no hope."
Ness started to charge up his PSI attack as Ghost of Starman charge up his.
"How could you understand hope?" Ness shouted defiantly. "My friends and family give me hope. Their love gives me hope. Their happiness and wisdom give me hope. This is the hope of everybody on this planet that I call home! Those are the things…you'll never kill, and Giygas will never kill them either!" Ness' mother watched his PSI generate in a way she never imagined she'd see her son do.
"I've read your hopes and wishes for your mother's safety and love when you came here. Master Giygas…once thought like you. But he has discovered how such love and emotion is a poison and a weakness, and once you learn this truth with your final dying breath, he will purge it completely from this universe." Stars of evil psychic energy started swirling around Ghost of Starman. "That poison has lead you here, just as Master Giygas planned…TO YOUR DESTRUCTION!"
"If you really think love is some kind of poison," shouted Ness, "you better not hold back either! Just go ahead and try! HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT!"
"Believe me Chosen…I have every intention to."
A gigantic gust of wind was blowing straight from the battlefield like a hurricane as both Ness and Ghost of Starman had charged their attacks to full power. Ness' mother knelt down, so tired from banging on the shield and crying so much, while Tracy and King were being held by Jeff and Poo. Paula clasped her hands, closed her eyes, and whispered…
"Please give him strength."
"PSI ROCKIN…OMEGAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"
"PSI STARSTORM…OMEGAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"
As if fireworks and multicolored war explosions were lighting up all of Onett, Ness' full-power supernova of PSI and Ghost of Starman's meteor shower of death were colliding with each other, creating massive craters and fissures on the suburban plateau.
The two attacks kept pushing each other back and forth, the sparks and embers coming from both singeing and injuring each fighter as each attack's impact came closer to its target.
"Ugh…ow…I…can't…give up…" Ness grunted as he was starting to bleed from the embers. Despite his massive power boost from Magicant, it was still an unbelievably painful struggle to ward off this insane Starman's new and improved PSI Starstorm attack. Everything just hurt so much; his brain channeling his PSI Rockin, his skin being burned, but he kept going. This particular Starman had been attacking him the most physically, mentally and emotionally out of all the countless Starmen he'd taken down, and attempting to murder his family was the final straw; Giygas and Ghost of Starman didn't just need to be stopped; they needed to be stopped PERMANENTLY.
Ghost of Starman could only laugh as he was attacking, something he never, EVER did as Starman Deluxe. This was mainly because he had been looking forward to meeting Ness again after he and his friends killed him at Stonehenge Base after that grueling, bloody battle. When Giygas revived him in his current form, he personally wanted nothing more than to make this tiny human suffer a slow, agonizing death so early in his young life while his loved ones would get consumed with despair watching him perish. It wasn't just Giygas' influence and a will like last time; it was Ghost of Starman's own insatiable, insane obsession for revenge.
"NESS!!! NO!!! MY BABY!!!"
The mind of Ness' mother was straying further and further away from her usual calm and rational demeanor as she was seeing her precious little boy battle back with everything he had, bleeding and suffering doing so. Never before in her life had she been feeling this hysterical for her child. She wished Ness never had to endure this much hardship, willing to sacrifice his own life to protect her when as a mother, SHE should be the one protecting HIM. At the same time though, the fact that Ness was fighting so hard without showing any signs of fear, using the aliens' own inherited power against them, amazed her.
Jeff was wowed at how much power Ness had now. When they last fought Starman Deluxe at Stonehenge Base, none of them could even make a slight scrape against his steel-clad alien body. As strong as they were at the time, they kept getting battered, broken, bloodied, and mocked for their defiance against Giygas all throughout that first battle, even when all four were fighting the fiend at once with their PSI energy completely drained. They were that close to dying, that close to failing to rescue Apple Kid, Tony, and Jeff's own father. Now, the awakened power Ness somehow found after acquiring the Eight Melodies was holding Ness on his own to match up to whatever Ghost of Starman's new power was. It was truly a miracle to behold.
Poo noticed Paula praying for Ness' safety, Tracy and King soon following suit. The Dalaam Prince also shut his eyes in prayer, with Jeff joining him. Ness' mother's voice was so hoarse from crying and screaming for her son, and all she just wanted was for him to come out of this fight alive. Soon enough, she shut her eyes and clasped her hands in prayer too. With twinkling tears, she repeated the same words Paula was whispering…
"Please give him strength."
The combined prayers of Ness' friends and family were telepathically reaching the boy just like his prayers to his mother earlier reached her. Happy memories were flashing through Ness' head, memories with Paula, Jeff, Poo, Tracey, King…and his own loving mother, recalling her words to be a thoughtful strong boy, that he'd go far, to remember to "go for it". The feelings behind their words of prayer—hope, love, emotion, care—they ramped up Ness' power even more than when he defeated his own nightmare in Magicant.
"IT'S OVER CHOSEN!!! YOU'RE DEAD!!!" Ghost of Starman screamed as he attempted to rain even more of PSI Starstorm against Ness' PSI Rockin.
But to Ghost of Starman's growing shock, Ness' attack was getting closer and closer to the demonic alien apparition, the number of meteors from the Starstorm dwindling in force and numbers, his own body starting to get pierced by the impact.
"You and Giygas…" Ness grunted, "Went too far this time. Now…you're never coming back. You know nothing…about Mother Earth's real strength. And after going…after…my home…my family…my friends…you're gonna learn…just what that strength is. Not just my strength…EVERYONE'S!!!"
With the loudest yell of fighting spirit he's ever yelled before, Ness pushed his PSI Rockin Omega right through Ghost of Starman.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"
The monster was disintegrating from the feet up into nothingness from the impact, feeling immense pain before not feeling anything anymore as his destruction ensued. Before his head disappeared, Ghost of Starman spoke just four telepathic words in a low whisper.
"Activate…his…Devil's…Ma…ch…i.ne…"
With that, Ghost of Starman, the very soul of Starman Deluxe, was gone forever, with the remaining PSI Rockin Omega finally dissipating.
———————————
Ness, so exhausted, so injured, so weary, was taking deep, shivering breaths. Losing consciousness, he started falling to the ground.
Paula disabled the PSI Shield Omega surrounding the house so everyone could run as fast as they could to catch him.
"NESS!" His mother caught him in her arms.
She was kneeling down cradling him like she used to when he was little, wiping away his blood and putting her gentle hand on his cheek.
"Ness? Honey?" Mom asked softly. No answer.
King stepped up to his owner, whimpering, licking his cheek to see if he'd wake up. He didn't.
"B-b-big bro? Is…" Tracy sobbed. "Is he…?"
"No…" Mom wept, her hands getting shaky. "P-please, no…no, Ness…you…can't…you c-can't be…"
"No…he's still alive." Poo said. "But that battle took too much of a toll on his body and mind."
"Th-then we have to do SOMETHING!" Ness' mom cried. "I can't lose him! I just…I just can't…" She held Ness in closer, sobbing into her son's chest.
Paula put a hand on the woman's shoulder. "Don't worry Mrs. Ness. Even if Onett's hospital is sealed off thanks to…them…" She glared at the monsters roaming down in town. "…we can still heal him."
"B-but how? He needs serious medical attention! He needs doctors! Paramedics! ANYBODY!"
"Mama…?" whispered Tracy in concern.
Jeff patted the woman's back. "Please calm down, Mrs. Ness. We have a solution."
"Ness isn't the only human child possessing PSI you know," said Poo, kneeling down to Ness.
"We've been helping and protecting him throughout our whole journey," Paula said. "We've all looked out for each other in situations just like this. Just watch."
Paula and Poo hovered their hands over the unconscious Ness in his mother's arms. PSI energy emanated from those hands in a soft, sparkling blue light.
"PSI Lifeup." said Paula.
"PSI Healing." said Poo.
To the family's amazement, Ness' wounds were healing, his clothes were being mended, and his leaked blood was being cleaned away from his skin. Ness' mother was still in awe at how this "PSI" power these children had could not only levitate things, talk to people in their minds or generate dangerous powers…but it could also heal.
Ness squinted his eyes a bit, stirring in his mother's cradling embrace. Slowly opening his eyes, he saw the wide-eyed, relieved face of his mother.
"M-mom?"
"N…Ness?"
"Heh…h-hi mom." The boy smiled quietly, lifting his red baseball cap a bit. "I'm…glad…you're all okay."
"Oh…Ness! NESS!" She was hugging him in as tight as she could, smothering him with kisses, never wanting to let her baby boy go, crying with relief that her sweetie pie just made it from the brink of certain death.
"Oh-ho-ho!!!" She sobbed. "I thought…I thought I was going to have a heart attack! Everything's okay now Nessie…mommy's right here! Mommy's not gonna let anyone else get you!"
"Ngh…Mom…you're…suffocating me…" Ness grunted before his mother let go to give him some air.
Tracy ran to Ness and started squeezing his leg, crying with relief as well. "Big brooooooo!" She wailed. "Th-thank you so much!!! I was…I was so scared! Waahaa!"
Ness picked up his little sister and rustled her hair. "Aw, c'mon sis…you know it'd take a lot more than some big, bad ghost alien to take me down!"
King leapt onto his master knocking him down, licking his face and yipping with joy.
"Ha ha ha ha…Stop it King, you're tickling me!"
Paula, Jeff and Poo all smiled at this heartwarming family reunion, glad that they were able to stop Ghost of Starman from potentially orphaning their best friend. But looking down at the monster-infested Onett, they knew that they couldn't stay here for long. There was absolutely no way Ness' huge battle just now didn't attract the attention of Giygas' malevolent forces roaming the streets. From what they could tell, they were all making their way up that plateau right for them!
"Ness!" called Jeff. "We have to get out of here! Giygas' minions are headed this way! We got what we came here for, so let's go!"
Ness' family gasped, seeing all those monsters looking directly at them as they were moving in down below. Ness himself took his mother's hand. "C'mon, Mom, we gotta get you someplace safe."
"B-but…how? There's no way we can run from that many monsters!"
"Just hang on," Ness assured her. "We're headed where nobody's gonna find us."
"Tracy, hold my hand," said Jeff. "This is gonna be quite a ride."
Tracy held on tight, looking more worried than ever that those monsters might eat them all up.
"Paula, Poo, keep your hands on King," said Ness. "We can all escape only if we're holding each other in a circle!"
Paula set her palm on the back of the dog's neck while Poo touched his side. With that, Ness closed his eyes and started to focus his PSI.
To his family's awe, they were all levitating off the ground, their joined circle spinning faster and faster.
"What's…happening?" Ness' mother was thinking as their circle was psychically glowing. Never before had she seen her son display such an amazing yet dangerous power like this. She had so many questions, but yet…she was still proud and thankful that Ness had rescued this family.
She and Tracy were hanging on tight, making sure nobody was gonna let go during this crazy spin. Finally, at its fastest peak, Ness cried out his command.
"PSI…TELEPORT!!!" And with a blinding flash, Ness, his family, and his friends all disappeared without a trace.
