Author's note: The main Peter Parker/Spider-man in this fanfic is Tom Holland just so that you have someone to picture.
Chapter One: The New Hero - Siren
Gwen was gone. Mary-Jane was gone. Michelle Jones was somewhere traveling the world. Peter - from Earth one was gone. Peter from Earth two was gone. Ned had gone on to other things. Peter from Earth three was no longer someone on his Earth. He was just a person that no one remembered who he was, but they knew that there was Spider-Man. There was another person just arrived out of no where in The Sanctum Sanctorum. Her name was Kit. She had no idea where she was - or when she was. She was stuck in the middle of a fight with superheroes from her own Earth and now she was in a place that didn't seem familiar to her at all.
"What do we have here..." A voice said, walking down the stairs was Dr. Stephen Strange.
"Where-Where am I?" Kit asked as she looked at the strange man.
"Better question, where did you come from?" Strange asked her.
"All I remember is getting struck with something and being pushed into a portal." Kit answered as her memory was drawing a blank. Why was she here? Why couldn't remember all the details of something important. There had to be a reason why she wasn't able to remember everything.
"You don't remember anything else?" Strange asked as he got closer to her.
"I don't...I don't know why I don't remember." Kit put her hands to her head as she confused.
"It's fine. I'm sure I can help some way. How about you tell me your name," Strange asked trying to see if she was telling the truth about what was happening to her.
"It's Kit."
"Well Kit, what was your Earth like?"
"My Earth...I was a superhero, I was fighting against some villains. Then this portal opened up and one of my friends pushed me inside before something happened. I don't remember anything else." Kit admitted.
"What kind of super powers do you have?"
Kit didn't know how to tell him what her powers were because there was no way to tell someone. She looked at her bracelet. "It's hard to really know because this charm bracelet has these magical charms on them that grant me powers."
"So, you don't have natural born powers?"
"I mean...I do have one, but I guess it's not really a power..."
"What is it?"
"I'm actually a mermaid on my Earth. My home has people living under the sea and on land and I live among the land people as my family for years have kept the secret."
"Somehow, I believe you but I don't understand how people started to live under the sea and develop to being mermaids?"
"That's the mystery of it all, no one knows for sure how people started living under the sea and how these powers came to be, but only a select few of people who live under the sea can turn their fins to legs, and live among the people on land."
"You must've come here for a reason. A portal doesn't open up out of the blue."
"Are you sure they don't? Cause We have them a lot on my planet. The portals is how we teleport."
"Well, you have some weird things going on your Earth, but this Earth, it doesn't happen like that."
"Well, this is a strange Earth to be on." Kit thought as she looked around the room she was in.
Across town, there was another Super-Hero was going on about his day. Peter Parker. It's been a few weeks since everyone forgot who he was - but still remember Spider-Man, so it was strange for him to be around people. He was kind of happy but still there was something missing from his life - someone he can be himself with. Someone who could help him fight crime. Okay maybe not that second part. Peter really wanted someone in his life. He was alone. No Aunt May. No Happy. No Avengers he could go as himself - because they only know of Spider Man. He was just a no one. He should've asked Strange to send him to another Earth but that would be more of running away from problems and he's already done that more than once.
Dr. Strange was the only Avenger to know that he was Spider-Man and that was going to be hard if he had problems - the other Avengers - most of them were gone. Peter took out his list of Avengers who were alive at the moment. Some of the information is what he remembered and what he got off the internet during his down time.
1) Scott Lang - better known as Ant-man, but it is unclear where he is as he wants to spend time with his daughter - Cassie
2) T'Challa - Black Panther - but he is on his home planet of Wakanda
3) Stephen Strange - Dr. Strange - who is doing stuff right now
4) Sam Wilson - The Falcon - wait he is now the new Captain America? - Missing Steve Rodgers right now.
5) Bucky Barnes - The Winter Solider
6) Clint Barton - Hawkeye - I think he he has a new partner, Kate Bishop.
7) Is Nick Fury still alive? I have no idea. What about Maria?
8) Bruce Banner - The Hulk - don't know anything
Peter put the list away. This was his list of who was still - well he didn't know about Nick Fury, all he knew was that Nick Fury was not on Earth, which means he still knows about the fact that he's Spider-Man. That is going to be something hard to explain when he comes back. Peter's feet brought him to the last place he thought he should be at. Soon enough Pete knocked on the door.
The door opened to reveal Dr. Strange. "Peter, come in. I have someone I should introduce you too."
"What?" He asked.
There was not much to think as Strange pulled him into a room and there Peter saw her.
"This is Kit. She's from another Earth, and until I can figure out how she really got here, I need you to show her our City." Strange mentioned.
"You want me to be a tour guide?" Peter looked at between Kit and Dr. Strange. "Is it safe?"
"It should be as long as it doesn't rain..." The girl Kit spoke.
"What happens when it rains?" Peter was curious.
"I grow a tail."
"I'm sorry - a tail?"
"Yes, a mermaid tail."
"Huh...that's new."
Dr. Strange cleared his throat. "Get going and be careful. Who knows what this city weather will be like."
As the two of them walked out of the budling. Kit really didn't know this guy but Dr. Strange knew him and trusted him. So maybe she could learn to trust him - she wondered if Dr. Strange would be able to get her home. She needed to know if her home and her friends were okay. Though something told her otherwise. It was like a gut feeling she had that she was pushed into the portal because she had to be saved from whatever was attacking her. Though no matter how much she thought - her mind still drew a blank.
"So where are you from?" Peter asked.
"Another Earth where Mermaids live on land and Sea, but not everyone was a mermaid," She said. "But I was different from the rest of them."
"Why is that?"
"Because Neptune and Salacia deemed that it was necessary to grant me these powers. I was gifted this bracelet from Jupiter, he approved of the powers that were bestowed upon me."
"Wait, Jupiter? Neptune? Why are using Roman names for the Greek Gods?"
"Roman...names? They are the true names of the Gods and Goddess on my Earth."
"This Earth uses both Roman and Greek names of the Gods and Goddess," Peter explained.
"Greek names? What are these Greek names?" She questioned as she looked at him.
"Well, for Jupiter his name is Zeus in Greek. Neptune is Poseidon in Greek,"
"So, all of my Roman Gods and Goddess have these Greek names, but they are the same person, is that you are saying?" She asked him.
"Well, yeah. I guess it's hard to hear other names for them as you grew up on just one type of name."
For some reason, Kit started to question what else was different in this world from her world. Were there Mermaids here too? Where were the Gods and Goddess of this world right now? She wanted to know so many things but she was sure that she wouldn't get the chance because of Dr. Strange finding a way home for her. She had to find out what was going to happen if she ever was to go back - was there something for her to go back to? Why did a portal from her Earth open to this Earth?
Peter looked at Kit - she didn't look like anyone else he knew. From what he knew about other Earths, there were others who had the same name - but they could look different. So, if her name is Kit, then he didn't know a Kit at all. Maybe Strange could track down her counterpart on this Earth. Would that be weird? Probably but what if her counterpart is dead and so the portal opened up to bring her here to take her counterparts life? Is that how it works? Peter shook his head.
Kit was looking around the city as there was difference between her world this one - minus people living under the water. She was pretty sure that there weren't any mermaids here. She looked over at Peter. He seemed nice enough to get to know him. She didn't know anyone else to compare him to. Peter noticed that Kit was observing everything that New York had to offer.
Back at the Sanctum Sanctorum, Dr. Stephen Strange was trying to figure out how Kit got to their world. He should've sensed that there was magical forces at play - but he didn't. What had happened...He was unsure of what to do. He was sure that there was something he could search for - but he couldn't even pinpoint the world that she possibly came from. Did Kit hide where she came from? Is it possible, that she has false memories? Stephen couldn't figure it out at all. Her powers weren't a lie, he knew that for sure, but her memories...
The only for him to figure out about her memories is that she came back and searched through her mind to see if he can find her true memories hidden deep in her brain. Stephen sighed as he wasn't sure hot to get her back to the Sanctum Sanctorum, she was with Peter at the moment. He was probably doing something -
Peter was showing Kit his favorite spot to just chill and relax - of course it on the roof top of a building. He seemed unsure of Kit and her situation. There was just something that just didn't sit right. A portal opening out of no where? Someone pushing her inside it? It doesn't make sense at all.
"So, how did you like the tour so far?" He asked her.
"It was amazing! I didn't know that a city could have so many different hidden places!" Kit was excited to learn more about the City. Every hidden place that the City had to offer.
Kit looked up at the sky and then looked out to the horizon. From the roof top, she could see a tiny bit of the waters. Then she started to realized that fighting was still happening. Which side was winning? She wanted to know why her memories were fuzzy about the fighting and about why she was here.
"I'm glad you are enjoying the tour. I never had to give one before." He admitted. It was true.
A lot of the Avengers were familiar with New York City - and so was his friends. There was no one to really show his hidden spots, his favorite places to visit. This was something that he was happy to do because it meant that he could share this. Peter looked over at Kit, he wondered if he would ever see her powers - he was curious to see how they worked. Would she want to see what his ability was like?
