Eight years later in the Colorado State Penitentiary 'Super-max', a CIA agent interviews the Jennings as part of a psy-ops report about Illegals, and how they could survive as 'deep-cover' ordinary Americans, despite doing horrific things. How do they maintain sanity? The report is reopened in 2010.

Set around the events of Season 4, episode 'Dinner for Seven', Agent Beeman can't leave alone, a hunch about Pastor Tim. In the backdrop around that episode, of the huge issues in Counter Intelligence - Gaad's murder and Martha Hanson's defection - it was the frustrating little things about that dinner at the Jennings, the dinner with Pastor Tim, that would not leave Beeman alone.

Philip and Elizabeth's identities are in danger becaues of a nosy person. It seems that the only solution is to stage a bank robbery and make the dangerous woman believe Elizabeth is a victim and has been seriously injured. Former Division Head for Counter Intelligence, FBI, Dennis Aderholt, remembers and recounts his days as a colleague of Stan Beeman's. Looking back, Aderholt tries to understand his old pal, Beeman, when it came to the exposing of Operation Harvest in 1987.

Beginning in Dec 1987, Paige Jennings faces her real fear - being alone. For the next 30 years she chisels out an existence in the USA and Canada, loyal to 'The Centre'. It is people who's language she doesn't speak, in a country she's never been. Living life as best she can, she finally contacts Henry. In 2017 by train to Rouses Point, she completes her parents' journey.

Several months after Phillip and Elizabeth escaped to Russia, Paige goes to Henry's college to finally talk to him.

The year is 1992. The Soviet Union has fallen, and Philip and Elizabeth have been recalled to their homeland. Henry, now a college student, is torn between his love for his parents and the only life he's ever known. A budding relationship with an American girl further complicates matters. I started this story before I knew how the show would end, so I guess it's now AU.

What happened to the characters in "The Americans" 5 years later and after the fall of the Soviet Union? This story proposes an answer.
