It was a cloudy, dreary September morning in Knothole, yet for one Maurice Olgilvie, better known as Sonic, it was a very exciting day indeed.
You see, the thing is about Sonic is that he hates being alone, without someone to natter away with quite quickly becomes very bored, which had been a problem since his siblings, twin brother and sister Manic and Sonia Olgilvie moved out to go to college, there had been a rapid decline in activity in the Olgilvie household. However his parents Julian and Bernadette had a solution for this, which also ticked of something on their shared bucket list, which was fostering a child, one of Sonic's age, to patch up that 'Sonia and Manic' shaped hole in their youngest son's life.
When they broke the news to their little Maurice he practically hit the roof out of sheer excitement, he was finally not going to be all by himself (ignoring the fact that he'd barely been alone for a month, as his siblings had departed in early August). He was going to maybe be the older child, and not be picked on and looked down upon endlessly by his two biological siblings.
'The Olgilvie Household'
Sonic was bouncing with excitement as he waited for his new sibling to arrive, whilst he liked having the likes of Silver and Knuckles over to his house, it just didn't compare to a sibling in his eyes.
Julian and Bernadette meanwhile were a little more reserved with their excitement, unlike Sonic, who was completely in the dark about the entire thing, they had met the boy on a number of occasions, and knew him quite well by now.
"Are you... sure he'll fit in dear?" asked Bernadette nervously picking at her fingernails "I mean, he's so different to the usual person in Knothole isn't he?" she continued, probing for a reassuring response from her husband which, thankfully, she received "Honey," Julian responded wrapping an arm around his wife "he's stronger than you might think, I'm sure he'll be fine, espresso with Maurice looking out for him." this caused a smile to form on his wife's lips as their new son came barrelling towards them.
