Chapter 1
Rain poured around Rose and Elizabeth as the two sisters sat on the steps. Elizabeth held onto a bouquet of white orchids that Rose had picked a few days prior to the wedding that would match perfectly for the younger Swann sibling.
Elizabeth looked over her shoulder and dropped her bouquet in shock of seeing Will in manacles.
Rose turned her head sharply and gasped as her younger sister ran to the love of her life. Rose moved quickly towards Will and Elizabeth. Her hand gripped tightly to her chest wondering what in the world was going on. Today was to be the happiest day in the world for her younger sister and here were army men holding Will in manacles and guns and swords ready to stop anyone from getting to Will.
"Will! Why is this happening?" Elizabeth asked softly, not being stopped by the guards that were around Wills. She brushed her hand against Will's face.
Will shook his head shrugging the best he could with the manacles that were tight around his wrists. "I don't know. I'm sorry." He eyed the beautiful woman before him. He would have married her today and everything would've been perfect. They would have started their own lives if fate hadn't twisted her cruel string.
Elizabeth smiled a small smile at what was said. "You know it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding."
Will smiled softly at the thought that Elizbeth was trying to ease the moment. "That explains the unexpected guests."
Rose looked up to see her father pushing through the crowd of soldiers. "Father."
His eyes widened at the sight of Will being in manacles. He turned his attention to one of the soldiers who seemed to be the most in charge. "You. Order your men to stand down, and remove these things at once."
The soldier didn't move upon the order.
"Did you hear me?"
A man came forward dressed finely and a white powdered wig. "Governor Wetherby Swann. My apologies for arriving without an invitation. That cannot be your daughters, little Elizabeth and Miss Rose?"
Rose swallowed the lump in her throat remembering the voice well. It was Cutler Beckett. A man that she never thought that she would have to deal with.
"Cutler Beckett?"
"It's Lord, now, actually." Cutler said with a growing smirk as he eyed the scene before him.
"Lord or not, you have no reason and no authority to arrest this man."
"In fact, I do. Mister Mercer."
A man came forward and opened a large dispatch case.
Cutler went through it and removed several documents before handing them to Governor Swann. "My appointment to the Royal Commission for Antilles Trade and Protection. The Commission charter, granting it extraordinary powers in matters both governmental and military. And the warrant for the arrest of William Turner."
Governor Swann looked at the first one seeing it was for his youngest daughter. "This is for Elizabeth Swann!"
Cutler quickly took it back. "It is? How odd… my mistake." He turned back to the case. "Arrest her."
"On what charges!" Rose snapped, her eyes narrowed as her sister was now being held by soldiers.
"Aha. Here's the warrant for William Turner. And I have one for Rose Swann. And another one for a James Norrington. Any idea where he is?"
Rose swallowed the lump in her throat as soldiers surrounded her as well. What in the world was this about?
"What are the charges?" Elizabeth reiterated her sister's comment of what the charges were. There was no way that they were being charged with something.
"Commodore Norrington resigned his commission several months ago." Governor Swann stated knowing that he hadn't even come back to Port Royal leaving his eldest daughter distraught and missing the man that he knew that she loved more than anyone else.
"That does not seem an answer to the question I asked."
"And we haven't seen him since."
"Lord Beckett!" Will snapped struggling against the soldiers that held him.
Cutler looked over at Will.
"In the category of questions not answered." Will tilted his head towards the Swann sisters.
Cutler looked at the two young women.
"We are British subjects under the jurisdiction of the King's Governor of Port Royal, and we demand to know the charges against us."
"The charge is conspiring to secure the unlawful release of a convict, charged and tried for crimes against the Crown and Empire, and condemned to death. For which regrettably, the punishment is also death. You do remember a pirate named, I believe it is, Jack Sparrow."
"Captain." The three piped up as if it was automatically a thing for them to do. They glanced at one another knowing that this wasn't a good sign.
"Captain Jack Sparrow." Elizabeth said rather reluctantly knowing that there was no reason to hide it anymore.
"Yes. I thought you might." Cutler said, jerking his head and the three of them were taken.
Elizabeth and Rose looked back at their father who gave a slight nod of his head.
Rose looked down knowing that this wasn't a good sign. She needed James here and he was still god knows where. Her heart ached in her chest worrying about him. She couldn't understand why he didn't come back to her. He had promised her that they would be back together before she knew it, but no one had seen the ship return and none of the crew ever made it back. It scared her that no one had heard from him. She didn't have the heart in her to believe that he was dead.

This is the end of Chapter 1. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I tried my best to write this chapter out. I do apologize for taking so long to get this chapter out. It took me a bit to get my muse back up and running for this series. And here I am back to writing for it. I'm excited to show you guys what I have in store. I know right now we can feel a bit bad for Rose because she has no idea if James is alive or not. But what do you think she might do? Will she go with Will to talk to Beckett or would you like all 3 to separately see Beckett? Any ideas? I'm just curious about what my readers think will happen. I hope to update soon with the next chapter. Until next time.
