In this vast world we live in, many things are shared. People tend to be the best at it. They try to improve their skills and become the best at what they do, and there's one thing many are trying to be the best at. That would be a game they call...Duel Monsters.

"Go! Attack!" A girl called as her monster launched an attack and all of her opponent's life points dropped all the way to zero.

"It's all over now! Our winner of this duel is none other than Cindy Moonlight!" The MC announced. A light shined down on her and everyone cheered. Cindy was a girl about sixteen with blonde hair tied back and wore glasses. She also had on a simple yellow shirt and white skirt. She waved to the crowd as they loved her win. After her win, she pulled out a cellphone-like piece from her duel disk and showed a number jump straight to 8529DP.

"Wow. My points are really racking up." Cindy said as she loved the progress she's made in her duels. However, there was a crowd that noticed it in the stands and they were just all kinds of trouble.

...

Downtown

Meanwhile, someone new was arriving in the city known Lustrous City. She had long blonde hair with pink streaks in it. She wore pink boots with black leggings and wore a pink leather skirt with a black edge. She had on a white long shirt with a black leather vest with pink fingerless gloves. Carrying her bag on her back, she walked right through the city and was hoping to see some excitement.

"Hurry! I want to see the next duel!" She saw a couple kids run by and saw how excited they were about duels. She certainly enjoyed seeing people enjoy dueling.

...

Cindy

After her time with duels was over, Cindy met up with her friends. The day was coming to an end and she was ready to call it a day.

"Cindy, that last duel of yours was impressive." One girl with a bob and brown hair said.

"Thanks, Cathy." Cindy said.

"I thought you had it for sure when you pulled out that last attack." A girl with long sandy hair claimed.

"That's because she was winning it there." A girl with curly black hair claimed.

"Anne is right, but thanks anyway, Tina." Cindy said. "Anyway, I've got to head down this way. I'll see you girls at school." She said as she parted ways with her friends and were one her own now, but being on your own in the streets can be a little dangerous. She made her way under a bridge, but that was a mistake. Once she walked through, some guys came out of hiding and it was obvious that she was in trouble.

"Hey. Saw your duel, and it looks like you're wracking up the wins." One guy stepped forward. He was bigger than the others with him wearing a flame jacket with white shorts and wore a white skully over his black hair. Cindy was starting to feel she was in trouble.

"You're... You're Duel Breakers!" Cindy said. "You're those no good punks that like to gang up on duelists and take all their duel points!" DP are as valuable as money to duelists, not to mention some use it to indicate a duelist's strength.

"We're not punks. We're just inspiring duelists who like to win."

"What should we do, Kent?"

"Let's give her the royal treatment." Kent said as they all wanted a piece of her. Each of them slipped the frame of their duel disks on braces and then slipped their pointers with their decks inside to extend the wings. Each of them summoned out a monster and had her surrounded. Cindy might be a decent duelist, but she is in a serious situation here and didn't know what to do.

"Hey, come on. I didn't do anything. I'm not that special. Just please let me go." Cindy pleaded.

"If you're a duelist, you should be able to fight. Come on!" Kent said as he and his goons attacked her and Cindy seemed doomed, but that was when something saved her. A bright rainbow light shined through and all the monsters were eliminated in one shot. "What was that?! Who's there?!" They all looked to the entrance and saw the same girl from before. "Who are you?"

"What's this about? Ganging up on someone like that isn't fair. This isn't how you duel. It should only be for fun and improve your skills."

"Well, this is fun for us, and if you don't want to get hurt, keep out of the way." Kent said.

"Hey! Get out of here! These guys mean business!" Cindy called.

"So do I. Don't worry about it." The girl said.

"Ha. You think you can take all of us on?" Kent mocked as they all looked ready for a fight.

"Looks like we got someone trying to be the big hero."

"She clearly doesn't know what she's getting into."

"Don't say we didn't warn you, little girl." Kent claimed. All of them tried attacking at once. However, all she did was play one card and created a force that knocked some of them over. This girl had some skill and she showed it by showing them the DP she had on her pointer and it was 38485DP. Seeing that was astounding and shocking.

"She has over 38000DP?!"

"I've never seen one person with so many points!"

"Who are you?" Kent asked.

"The name's Yukina. Yukina Osamu. Next time you want to have a duel, do it fairly." She said as she looked down on their actions. Kent groaned in frustration as he could tell they couldn't take her so easily.

"We'll remember this!" Kent said as he and his guys retreated.

"Bunch of bullies. Are you okay?" Yukina asked.

"Uh... Yeah... Thanks for that." Cindy said as she was amazed at what she just saw.

"Well, later." Yukin said as she put her stuff away and walked out of there.

"Hey! Wait up!" Cindy said as she went after her. Meeting her, she doesn't want to see someone this amazing leave so soon.

...

Later

Night has fallen and Cindy has followed Yukina around. She was amazed with her dueling skills like that, she wants to know more about Yukina. She's clearly a skilled duelist and would like to know more.

"That was simply amazing what you did back there. I've never seen anyone send someone packing with just a couple moves like that." Cindy said. "I can't believe you were willing to take them all on."

"They were just a bunch of bullies. The way you handle bullies is to stand up to them and show you're not afraid." Yukina said. "Cindy is your name, right? Who were those guys anyway?"

"They call themselves the Duel Breakers. They're punks that like to pick on duelists to take all their points and sometimes they even take their best cards." Cindy claimed.

"Like I said. They're just punks and bullies. Once they saw all my points, they easily got scared and ran off." Yukina said.

"How did you get so many DP? Where are you from? I don't think I've seen you around before." Cindy asked. That was right when Yukina tossed her bag against a grassy area near the river and rested against it.

"Right here." Yukina said. "I've been traveling around the past few weeks, going from one place to the next, and taking on some strong duelists."

"Wow. No wonder you have so many points." Cindy said.

"Yeah, and you get to see so many great places and see a lot." Yukina said as she gazed up at the moon and stars. "The best part are all the great duelists I get to face, and they're a lot more fun than having to deal with those punks." Cindy thought Yukina was so cool. She's never met anyone like her. "Of course, the true key to having strength is having heart."

"Having heart?" Cindy asked.

"If your heart is in it, you can always change the duel in your favor." Yukina said. "It doesn't matter how powerful your cards are. What matters is how you play them. What matters is how you play the game."

I'm not sure I follow." Cindy said.

"Don't worry. I think you'll get it eventually." Yukina claimed with Cindy amazed with Yukina.

...

The Duel Breakers

After what happened with Yukina, Kent and the others retreated back to a warehouse that they use as a hideout.

"I'm telling you that this is no joke." Kent said as they were speaking to the one in charge. "This Yukina has got some skill. She sent us flying and has over thirty-thousand points."

"Really? I've got to admit that she does sound rather interesting." The one in charge said.

"What are you going to do Cray?" Kent asked. Cray might have been more fit than Kent, but he was the most tenacious. He had mossy green hair that was edgy with part of it tied back. He wore beige ripped pants with a mossy green sports top and vest. As for his eyes, just looking at them could tell you he's dangerous.

"I say we put her to the test. Let's see if she's really all that tough." Cray claimed as he liked where this might be going. This guy doesn't just cause trouble, he is trouble.

...

The Next Day

Cindy had such a great time with Yukina the other night, and wants to see if she can get stronger. Cindy ran as fast as she could because she was eager to get started.

"Hey! Yukina!" Cindy called as she made it to where she last saw her, but saw that Yukina was already gone. "Oh man. Don't tell me she left already. I thought she could help improve my duel, maybe even be friends." She thought she found a great one in Yukina, and doesn't want to let her go just yet. "Maybe I can still catch her."

...

Yukina

After camping out, Yukina was hitting the road again. She walked right through the city and was hoping to find other duels.

"Hey, hey, hey! This is your trusted MC here from the local Duel Park!" Yukina looked up at a billboard and saw a guy dressed like a DJ on the screen. "It's open to the public! Anyone who wants to hone their skills can come in and we'll have duels of all kinds until the bigger tournaments come!"

"Sounds like fun. I'll check it out." Yukina said. She was ready to go, but stopped when she saw Kent was standing in front of her and it was clear he wanted trouble. She then looked around and saw a lot of Duel Breakers surrounding her.

"Hey. We're having a little gettogether, and you're invited." Kent said. Yukina didn't like what they really wanted, but she wasn't going to back down from them. Meanwhile, Cindy kept looking around in hopes that she can catch Yukina.

"Yukina! Where are you?!" Cindy called. She kept searching, but didn't find her and didn't know what else to do. That was until she spotted the Duel Breakers and caught a glimpse of Yukina going into a construction site. "Oh no!" Inside the construction area, Yukina was placed in the center and was surrounded by so many of those punks with Cray watching from the top. Cindy came running in and saw that this wasn't good.

"You think you're some tough stuff, but let's see how tough you really are." Kent said as he tried to intimidate her. "We're giving you the royal treatment with the One-Hundred Monster Mash. We'll be coming at you all at once. Let's see how you handle that."

"Fine with me." Yukina said. "I'm not scared of you. You guys are just punks who like to push people around thinking it makes you look cool and tough, when really it's pathetic."

"Ha. Look at her. She's the one acting tough."

"Time to say goodbye to all your points."

"Let's show this girl she messed with the wrong crowd."

"Yeah..." Kent said as they all activated their duel disks and were now set. "Attack!" All of those Duel Breakers attacked as they summoned out a variety of monsters. They all came at her and moved through the area. It was like pandemonium in there.

"This is crazy! There are too many of them!" Cindy said.

"That's right." Kent said. "That's the point of the One-Hundred Monster Mash. With so many monsters moving around like that, it's difficult to tell where an attack is really going to come from. No one has ever survived it." All of them were rather enjoying this and think they have Yukina. How does one counter when a hundred monsters are coming at them.

"Stop it! This isn't fair!" Cindy called.

"It's fine, Cindy." Yukina said. "It's like I said before. I'm not going to lose to guys that don't have heart."

"Heart?! What are you talking about? Just hurry up and admit defeat!" Kent said.

"Sorry, but that's not happening." Yukina said as she reached for the top card of her deck. Suddenly, it was like a strange sensation was emitting through her. Cindy noticed it and so did Cray. "Here goes!" She drew her card and played it. One card was all she needed. Once she played it, an intense rainbow light shined and her monster emerged as it took to the sky. It flew the area and destroyed all the monsters it came in contact with, eliminating them all easily.

"Huh?! What the heck is happening?!" Kent called.

"Amazing!" Cindy said as all of them couldn't believe what they were seeing. That one card took out every single monster until it reached to the sky and shined a bright light. A closer look at the monster showed it was some sort of bird that looked so beautiful with how it shined like a rainbow. "She drew the one card she needed! She believed in herself and got what she needed! I think I'm starting to understand!" Cindy said as she's never seen anyone pull something like this. The Duel Breakers didn't like how this was unfolding and all of them decided to just run for it. Yukina really is a powerful duelists. Once they all cleared out, Yukina stood victorious with her bird fading away. "That was incredible!" She cheered as she ran to her and was amazed at what she saw.

"See, Cindy?" Yukina questioned.

"Hahaha..." They both looked up and saw the one that remained was Cray himself. "Yukina Osama... It looks like I finally found someone that can give me a challenge."

"Who are you?" Yukin asked.

"My name is Cray Kodaru. I'm looking forward to dueling against you." Cray claimed. Yukina might have faced all those goons, but it now looks like she'll have to deal with the top dog. There's a storm coming.
